They have the brands that I want and more importantly the brand that my cat will actually eat.

I have a huge aquarium tank at home. PetSmart carries most of the essential items I need to maintain my goldfish tank. Staff are usually around to answer any questions I have. read more

PetSmart Grooming - Pet Stores Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

I used to shop at Petsmart constantly for my family of pets but I can guarantee you I will never be returning to this location. My last experience there was so bad that I ended up sending my husband back with every item I had bought and will use that money in another pet store where they actually train their staff in customer service. I attempted to inform corporate about the issue I had with staff, in particular some old broad who thinks she owns the store or something. Corporate is no more helpful than anyone else. I did end up getting my issue resolved in another location with an apology from them about how I was treated. According to another Petsmart location, they receive a lot of complaints from people about how rude the Scott Road location is, and one of their staff transferred to this store because they couldn't handle working with the people there. Worst store ever, I would rather spend more money in another store than go through the hassle created by the stupid employees in this location. Petsmart needs to take a serious look at the staff they keep working for them. read more

I brought my dog Sevak (pronounced like Civic) in for grooming. He's a little over a year old, friendly yellow Lab. I'll admit the reviews about this location had me a little freaked out but things actually worked out great. I had to choose this location as well because I still had some money on file left from his training that I haven't used. Sevak is a very gentle, friendly dog. Who loves people and behaves well. I found his groomer did a good job grooming him, her name was Naomi. When I went to pick him up I did inspect his fur looking for cuts and what not and it was fine. I was able to tell Naomi did a good job with his coat because when I brought him home he did not shed at all. I looked at his nails too to check for any damages and there were no damages - which was a relief ! I'd bring him back to the same groomer if I were to bring him back to petsmart. I don't think I would want to take my chances with anyone else here considering the not so great reviews below. read more

I am spoilt by the newer looking stores and find this one old and worn out. The staff, however, are great and my dogs and I make special trips to this store because one of their favourite people, Lise, is now at this location. I will definitely be back. read more

I have been visiting Petsmart for close to 10 years and am very involved with the BC SPCA. I've had dogs, fish, and recently guinea pigs. The store manager Chad Lloyd is rude, disrespectful and has zero sense of customer service. When I asked to return an item, he accused me that I may be abusing my guinea pigs by returning the ultra tiny unacceptable cage that I naively bought due to the bad advice of another associate at another store. I also explained that the cage was very expensive and I already had to pay for vet bills for the sick guinea pigs I bought at Petsmart (one had serious conjunctivitis that needed antibiotics, and another had a bacterial infection on her foot - bumblefoot). I had the vet bill and was ready to show it to him. I also had the phone numbers of the BC SPCA and the clinic where I brought the sick creatures. Chad's powers of deduction are lacking and so is his logic as he tried to blame me for the sick pigs. He questioned me about where the pigs were housed and I told him I had an entire 20 sq ft enclosure for them as a pen. He has zero idea about how to care for guinea pigs and I was stunned that he seemed to believe his tiny cage was acceptable. In any case, it was very clear to see he was both not knowledgeable and extremely offensive and rude. He actually ended up walking away from me as I was talking because it seemed he didn't know how to respond appropriately. I could not believe the outrageous behaviour of this manager. Do not visit this location. The associates are compassionate and helpful. The manager is from another planet, and I would not be surprised if he is removed from his post. Do not shop here. I should also add: Since you are already on Yelp, take an opportunity to search more reputable pet stores and family owned businesses and help support them too. You'll receive 100x the customer service you'll ever receive at this Surrey Petsmart location. read more

We have visited this store twice. All the people here are really nice and are knowledgable about most things. The girl who helped us, her name was Natasha I believe, was really nice as well. The only problem about this store is that we purchase a $300 fish tank that's in a box, when we got home, it was broken. The top piece was broken and we were so disappointed. It was late at night and Petsmart was closed. So we just decided to go the next day after work. The next day, they didn't have the same Fluval 45 bow complete set Aquarium that we purchased from the Strawberry Hill Pet Smart location in Surrey BC. So we had to drive all the way to Langley to get a replacement. After we got home, we went back to the same Petsmart in Strawberry Hill Location, and we bought a Fish Tank Stand for around $180. Once we got home and very excited and forgot about how frustrated we were as it was very inconvenient for us to transport these big stuff, when we open the box of the Fist Stand, our heart sank. The wood piece are cracked in half! We were so frustrated and not really satisfied with our purchase. It was very disappointing. I am writing this while we're trying to figure out what to do now. We are just gonna go back to Petsmart tomorrow and just have to return this stuff. Sigh... We are not really satisfied and would actually give bad reviews about Petsmart products. The only good thing about our experience was the people that works there are all nice. Hopefully they can help us with our problem. But all in all experience, I'm happy with their customer service. They are all knowledgable and very eager to help their customers. read more

While I have no complaints about the store or staff as a whole, my issue is with the puppy training classes. I am a licensed veterinary technician and I attended the classes with my fiancé and our new puppy. The class was decent enough. We kind of learned some new tips and tricks for training her. The problem was towards the end of class when suddenly the teacher decided to start giving medical advice and contradicted everything this couple had been told by their veterinarian. I asked the trainer about her veterinary training and she said that she had worked for Hills Pet Food before Petsmart. I'm not sure if I am just being a snob because I work in the industry but to me, it is beyond unethical to tell someone to ignore the advice their veterinarian gave them and listen to her instead. FYI spaying and neutering a dog at the age of 6 months is NOT animal cruelty and it does NOT stunt their growth. But it DOES eliminate all chances of the female developing mammary gland tumors. As well as preventing annoying habits such as marking and humping. Vets go to school for a minimum of 8 years, technicians for 2+ years, I would like to see this woman's credentials before she starts giving anymore advice. I will be reporting this issue to head office as well as the BBB if nothing will be done about her. read more

I wouldn't recommend their training classes, or at least not the puppy classes. The instructor allows the dogs to "play" aka fight, pee everywhere, and generally run around in complete chaos for 45 minutes and then behind training. By the time the "training" starts my dog was completely wired and on edge. Go to a real training centre, not PetSmart. read more

I highly recommend the puppy training at this location. Barb is absolutely fantastic. We've gone through the training with two dogs and she's helped us with lots of puppy issues. She also provided one on one training for our very difficult and aggressive dog. Our dog was beyond help, but she did get some very good results with him. read more

These guys look after my doodle's hair and nails. She loves it every time we visit. The place is always clean and the animals that are being sold always appear in good condition. Last time I was there a guy was bringing his wife's Shitzu in, and the dog was the friendliest thing you've ever seen to the staff, and shoppers, but every time the man went near it the shitzu would snarl and growl. Poor guy didn't know what to do! The staff were great though and suggested some counseling... for the guy. read more

Went to take my dog in for grooming. Lucky for us the lady was very rude and insisted on calling our vet regarding vaccinations. As a result, we were waiting around a bit and were able to see how they treated their dogs during the grooming session - it was horrendous! One dog was having it's ear brushed so hard it was crying in pain, while another groomer kept pulling on the dogs leg and telling it to stop moving. I was horrified! Regardless, we decided that we weren't going to subject our puppy to that, and decided to leave the store - side note, the staff shouldn't be giving customers crap for carrying their dogs. WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS STORE, WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO TAKE THEIR DOGS TO GET GROOMED HERE. read more

Took our mature (17 yrs) bichon/maltese to PetSmart in Strawberry Hill. Our appointment was for the express, which is usually done in the evenings because less busy. We were very concerned because our dog is blind and gets very agitated and nervous. Tiffany took such good care of our dog and we are thrilled to be able to bring him in for specialized grooming. Thank you so much, you have no idea how wonderful it is to know that our dog is being looked after by such a caring team. read more

Badd customer service! I brought my dog here for his grooming for a day and they told me they will call me 10 mins before they finish. So i was waiting for their call and i didnt received any. So I just went there a little bit early. And then they called me saying, "Are u gonna get your dog cos were closing now!!??" -with a very rude tone. I was shocked and was looking for that girl who called me and apparently she left already half an hour ago. And Im very unsatisfied with my dog's haircut. He's half maltese and havanese so he has very long, fluffy hair that makes him really cute and I told them to just trim it a little bit and they shaved him! He looks like a completely diff dog! Arg! Never again petsmart read more

I would not recommend the grooming services at Petsmart. I was completely dissatisfied with the customer service and especially the quality of the service provided to my dog. I had brought my puppy, Milo, in for a full groom and he came out looking like the biggest mess I had ever seen. They complained that my dog was not being "cooperative" (they had called me just half an hour into the haircut), and that I had to take him away right away. And they also suggested that I get him professionally trained. I felt offended because I had never had a single problem with Milo's behaviour until he went into this store. I then took him to another pet grooming salon (Pampered Pets) to fix up the mess that Petsmart had left and they did a fantastic job at it. I have been taking him to Pampered Pets regularly for grooming services and they have not once complained about his behaviour because: 1.) They build a relationship with the dog before shoving scissors in his face, and 2.) They do not crate the puppies (which irritates them). This tells me that maybe it was not my dog's behaviour, but rather it was Petsmart's horrible service. I do not believe that the overpriced service that Petsmart provides for grooming is worth even a dime of it. This is simply my opinion. Others may have no problem with taking their dogs in to Petsmart. But as far as my experience goes with them, the impression I have is that they have no patience with the dogs whatsoever and do not care for the individual dog itself. read more

The staff at this location is great but the store manager chad is one awful man he does not care one bit about customers is rude, racist and pathetic. He should not be store manager he is an awful human being read more

I have been taking my golden in for grooming here for 8 years. Overall they do a great job.My dog loves to go there .It probably is expensive but it is convenient for me.I have taken him to other Petsmarts but service was not as good as Strawberry Hill. They are sticky about the vaccinations and will phone your vet for proof . Found it a bit annoying since I had provided it to another location and they did a poor job so I had to take my dog there to be groomed a few weeks later, but it was not their fault . read more

Very poor customer service. The store manager needs to give his young employees a refresher on what constitutes good customer service. I take my dog here for grooming on a regular basis. When I went to pay the bill at the cashier, I greeted her with a hello. No answer. She rings up the transaction, not a word spoken. How rude. then hands me the receipt and says 'there you go'. There you go? Is she doing me a favor? How about a THANK YOU!!!! As in, thanks for giving us your money and doing business with us to help keep me employed in a job and this company profitable. read more

I would not recommend anyone to go to this location especially for pet grooming. Going in as nice customers, we were completely disappointed in the customer service. The manager and staff were so rude. Do not waste your time! They do not deserve your business. read more

Go elsewhere to spend your dollars. I purchased a nice external filter system for my fish tank that was highly recommended by staff, a mid priced fluval system. I also purchased extra media for it, when l go to the store I am told they no longer carry the media to service that unit and suggested a new unit. I was shocked but again purchased another unit, this thim a much less expensive model fluval, a u200 for around $70. This time I also bought a lot of the media to go with it. Las week it stopped working, I took it back and I was told, sorry you'll have to buy another one as they don't honor the warranty and I should contact the manufacturer . I can't just leave the tank unfiltered for a month or so to see if even they will replace it. Do I buy a third unit from these people? I think not. I've spent around $2000 on this hobby and this was the defining moment for me and this store. Great service when I buy the top of the line stuff but just go away on the inexpensive item. I will go away, back to the family run pet store that five minuets north on Scott Road. read more
