This place lost my family's dog…read more They were grooming our two dogs. They are both quite skittish and the groomer should have been aware of this as we had brought them there many times before. For some reason, one of the (now ex-) employees took one of our dogs outside at some point, without his collar on, and he ran away across the parking lot and disappeared. Apparently they tried to chase him but he got away. That employee was then extremely rude to my mother when she came in to find out what happened. The owner, to her credit, fired the negligent employee who let him loose, and was very involved with the efforts to retrieve him (hired a pet searcher, hung posters, drove around searching). We are grateful to her for that. Our pup was (THANKFULLY!) found 2 days later, after being picked up by animal control and brought to SARC. I am torn about this review now because the owner Megan obviously felt horrible and was so relieved when she learned that he was found. However, all of this could have been avoided had that employee acted with a modicum of common sense, and ultimately the responsibility for that does fall on the business owner. People trust you with their pets. To most of us they are family members. To have one of them go lost or missing because someone you trusted let him down is absolutely heartbreaking.

This place not only LOST OUR DOG due to gross negligence, but instead of following him and calling…read moreit in decided to go back to the facility and let the dog get over an hour headstart on any search effort. This is after they decided that chasing the loose, scared dog far away was better than calmly coaxing him. Oh, and taking him outside in the parking lot by the busy street without a collar on. All of this could have been easily avoided by someone with any common sense. The incompetent employee then decided that it was appropriate to give attitude to the owner who was looking for her dog. The dog was found 2 days later by animal control but I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place, and so should you. The dog could easily have died. This is not the first time this has happened. Hopefully they are not given the chance to let it happen again. This establishment has no business looking after anyone's animal. Regarding the owner's friend's review: the fact that they have multiple gates just makes it even more ludicrous that they lost a dog. The dog did not plan an elaborate prison break. This is now the second time they have lost a dog. This was a series of unbelievable screwups followed by a token attempt at retrieval and this place should not be in business.

Delivery is everything!…read more Today Ocean Park Vet contacted me as my dog had an appointment booked a week prior to be groomed the following day which my mother had kindly booked for him so that he could have a play date with his litter mate. I was asked if my dog had his most recent vaccinations in which I replied that I wasn't aware I had missed one. (I normally get an email and book right away) she proceeded to shame me for him being behind on his vaccines (it was due 20 days before) and that they had contacted my vet and that he wasn't up to date and that they would not be able to groom him and that they were cancelling his appointment. I was rather short at the end of the call as a lot had gone into the booking and arranging of this appointment. I decide to call back and ask a question. I asked if they had possibly missed a step when the original booking was done and had missed to ask the question as to whether or not he was up to date on his shots. She then admitted that yes, they were suppose to verify. Hmmm, so rather than call and say we apologize, we forgot to ask if his shots were up to date when we did the booking and that they would need to reschedule due to their error they made me feel like I was the terrible pet owner. Shame on you! Take accountability and do things properly. I will never recommend this vet to anyone.

Do not expect the cheapest treatment but expect an honest one and estimates are always a good idea. The staff are exceptional at least the ones I left Dr McFee with. She has a new dog on the website - lucky lad or lady. Overall, the best clinic on the peninsula - and you can expect to be treated with love and compassion, fairness and the most modern facility and skills. Love you, babe.
