My puppy loves the attention she gets and will walk all over the entire store to say hi to everyone. I love taking her because it helps her sleep at night (she tires herself out there). I've never had any issue finding anything here, and the staff = helpful. The only issue I have is with their weekend adoptions...for God's sake, if you want to get your sponsored dog adopted, give them a damn bath so they don't look like a Cuban street dog. So sad. I come here mostly for my guinea pig because she's an extremely picky eater and will only eat a specific brand of pellets that Petsmart carries (PetCo does not). It appears that they have a great selection for dog products, as well. read more

These folks do a great job with grooming my dog son mojo. He is a silky Yorkie but we never met his hair grow all that long. We used to go to petco but I got so fed up with the service there that I just called petco. I gotta day right off the rip I've been able to get my dog in here for a same day appt every time. Went to see the beta fish section and all their waters were dirty. Half of the fish are sick and one died. Absolutely disgusting and sad.

My poor baby PetSmart DO NOT TAKE TO PAIGE she doesn't have patience for shy dogs. I was trying to get him used to the groomers and all she did was pull and tug at him. He is a shelter dog and doesn't deserve this abuse! His scars are now forming. Poor thing no wonder he wouldn't look up. My heart hurts for not seeing this sooner. I will be going to speak again to a manager ASAP! Spoke with Justin today and I requested for them to send my dog to the vet at their cost. The staff is always friendly and if the most you can find to complain about is someone walking away after handing your dog back in a professional and friendly manner, it seems more like you're just a sourpuss looking for issues. I bought a small 2.5g topfin tank there about 5months ago and the pump just stopped working. I called and talked to the General Manager, Tom and he just said bring the pump in and if they dont have the part they'll find one that'll fit and fix it for me! Super NICE! Disappointed with their customer service. On the way to the cashier, my puppy peed in the middle of the aisle way. She is a large dog, so she created a rather large puddle of urine. The cashier saw me struggling with my puppy and trying to hold on to my basket, but she didn't offer any help. A nice customer offered to watch my basket while I got some help. I asked the cashier if I can get help to clean up the urine and she just pointed towards the aisle and said, "we have cleaning supplies over there." I don't mind cleaning it up myself, but she saw that I was struggling with several things in my hands. She didn't even to bother to page overhead for assistance. read more

This store is very clean and well stocked. We stopped by for some food for our dog and there was a great deal. The staff is great, it is apparent that they are experienced with animals, as they always are able to suggest products and offer advice. There is also a ton of parking out front. This is for the groomers only. I attempted to bring my puppy in last week to be groomed for the first time. The experience was fantastic inside the store until we walked into the groomers. When we walked in we were left standing at the front desk while the young lady who eventually helped us stopped flirting with her boyfriend who was sitting in the back corner playing on his cell phone. No grooming was going on in the shop. I asked if they could sneak in my yorkie for a quick bath and they told me they were done for the day at 3 because someone called in sick so they were closing at 430. I was confused because it was only 3 and no dogs in sight. She then immediately started asking for my personal information. I asked her why and she told me she was scheduling me an appointment in 3 days. I told her no thanks and left. I got a really bad feeling from the employee and would never feel comfortable leaving my dog with them for any period of time. I have also since heard that they have dropped a few dogs and cost owners pets. Not sure if there is any truth to this story, but I'm not taking any chances especially after the vibe I got from the employee. PS: making out with your boyfriend at work in a room full of dog hair. I made an appointment for my dogs to get groomed. My husband was running behind with dropping the dogs off so I called to notify the store. They said it was fine and they would wait. My husband arrived at the store and walked around for 15min trying to get assistance finding the grooming entrance. During this time, I was called twice for cancelation, once 7min after the start time and once 10min after the start time. When I asked what the policy is for lateness, they said it depends on how busy they are with grooming and because my husband was late by 10min they couldn't help us. They then claimed that all the dogs for the day have been checked in (by 130?) And that my dogs would have been bathed and in the drying process 7min into their appointment time. When my husband spoke to the manager of grooming to see what the policy is and explain what happened, the manager offered to reschedule the services for 2 days later AND it would be free. So we bring our dogs in and upon pickup my husband is told by the same manager that he got the policy wrong and since it was our fault entirely he could only give us 50% off our services. While we were totally fine to pay in the first place, the fact that he offered the service free then changed his mind while we were picking up is absurd. It's apparent that either Petsmart has obscure policies regarding customer service or this store is very under trained and could use some refreshers on policies. This was our first experience with petsmart grooming and it was horrible. read more

Horrible Pet Grooming Experience!! Their rude customer service is the least of my complaints. My poor dog's ear was severely cut during the grooming, and their rude staff denied everything. Again 3rd time bad experience at this Petsmart in Santee Petsmart fish department. Different stories each time no one agrees on the RULES for tanks. Then I tried to but 3 guppies for a 10 gal tank with a frog and louche. The young lady would not sell them to me as she said it is over crowding the fish as they have mega amounts of fish in a small tank. I have had fish all my life. 5 small fish can be in a 10 gal tank! Guppies are starter fish. And feeders. Why so worried? At least I am trying to give them a nice home. When I said the man last time said I could she said love him but he does not know what he is doing. Who says that about a co worker? The manager said I don't know much about fish so what ever she said. Who says that? Why are you a manager then? The cashier was nice and helpful along with the main store manager who called me back to help the next day. Not going there anymore. Never have this issue at any other fish store. read more

I had a really great experience at PetSmart in Santee. I took my dog for a bath and the people were so kind and efficient. Lisanna took care of my dog and she did a spectacular job. She made sure everything was taken care to best of her ability. She wrote a thorough pawgress report and gave my dog the cutest little gold bows on her harness. I could really tell that Lisanna and the other workers really care for the pets and love them. I will definitely be going back. read more

Here bath ended up costing me 200 between the bath and th vet I could have got a lot more done with that, and now my dog is suffering and going to miss her dog show due to their incapability to keep their stations sanitized! I scheduled an appointment for my puppy to get her nails cut today. When I made my appointment, I advised the man on the phone that she was a rescue puppy and we weren't exactly sure how old she was but we told they think between 12-14 weeks. I showed up today 10 minutes before my appointment and there was a line waiting to enter the salon as they only allow one family in the lobby due to Covid. The gentleman ahead of me was inside the lobby socializing with the employees even though they could all see the line forming. Finally we were able to go inside and I advised them we were the 1:30 pm appointment but were late due to standing in line ( we were in line for over 20 minutes). The first woman rudely yelled into a room behind the wall "whoever has the 1:30 appointment is here. Another woman comes out already with an attitude and rudely asked for our puppy's name. She then demanded the puppy's rabies shot record which I did not have because I wasn't aware I needed to bring it. I asked her why this wasn't told to me when I made the appointment and she said " I don't know, I wasn't the person you spoke with ". She also kept saying my puppy was 4 months and I advised her that wasn't true because we are fostering her because she isn't old enough to be adopted yet. She still refused to take our appointment. She never apologized or offered to make a future appointment. I was upset over wasting my time but she didn't care. I advised her that they need to tell the people who make the appointments that they require shot records. The woman screamed at me to leave the salon. I walked to the front of the store and requested to speak with a manager. He was useless. He could only say I'm sorry. No action taken against the rude employee. He claimed that he would call me if something was done, meaning no phone call back. I advised him that I have 10 pets that I shop there for and that he just lost a customer. I searched Yelp and found several complaints in regards to the customer service. I have written a complaint letter to their Corporate office. Lets see if they even respond. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this store for any type of business. read more

I bought a Chinchilla back in January. Kat was very knowledgeable and really told me everything I needed to know. The only thing that bothered me was that she encouraged me to buy him these chamomile treats that he doesn't even like. She told me he ate them when she hand fed him but i dont believe her. I'm left with a full bag of those treats because he refuses to eat even one and I've been trying for 6+ months. read more

This review is for two groomers Christina and April, who were incredibly helpful grooming my long haired kitty. It is really hard to find cat groomers in the San Diego area, and being my kitty's first time at a groomers I was a little nervous on how she would behave. April held/positioned my cat while Christina shaved and groomed her. Both women were super sweet to my cat, calming her down by talking to her and being affectionate with her. I opted out of the bath and only wanted a nail trimming and cut. The process took about an hour, and I was able to watch the process through the see through glass wall. As a heads up, they normally do not groom cats on the weekend, but were able to accommodate me due to the light amount of dog grooming appointments. The cut was great (shaved with a lion mane and boots) and they provided incredible customer service to my and my animal and I. We will definitely be back! read more

Grooming review: they always do a great job with our 3 dogs. We usually get the labs a bath and our Pekingese gets a bath and a hair cut. The boys always come out looking very dapper, soft as d baby's behind and smelling like roses. Even though our Peke is a nervous nelly, they handle him great. Also our old boy who has a hard time standing is treated gently. read more

Prices are decent, I come in at least once every other week for cat and dog stuff, it's the closest pet store to my home so I choose here over anywhere. My one and only concern and complaint is, every time I come in, iv NEVER had anyone approach me for help or anything, kinda odd maybe low staff who knows but it's weird!!! This PetSmart is clean, neat, and organized; it's very easy to navigate where certain pet supplies are. One problem- like with any PetSmart, the prices are pretty high and unusual compared to other places that have pet supplies. Nevertheless, the staff are easy to talk to and have you in and out in a flash! read more
