My pups always get sooo much attention here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Some of the workers know my dog by his name (Rampage) and it always surprises me. My English bulldog has a lot of allergies so finding food is kind of tricky. The staff would give me recommendations and reassure me that if it doesn't work out, we can always return it. Luckily after many trials and error, we finally found what works for him. I always love going through their apparel and toy selections. They're so cute!! read more

5 stars for customer service! I used to come in all the one for food for my picky husky and Lilian (I believe is her name, she has a lot of tattoos if that helps) was always so cool and upbeat! She always helped me out with the best choices for my pups and even recommended food that they love to eat! Even with my dogs, I have been venturing into somewhat of an aquatic hobby. I have a 10 gallon tank equipped with a heater and filter and it's always mind boggling to know that even as a beginner fish mom, I know more about the fish than the employees. However, this is not the case here. Daisy helped me with my aquatic frogs and shrimp and she was so gentle and even put them in seperate bags (A GOOD SIGN, unlike PetCo who's manager grabbed and nearly killed my fish with his bare hands). Daisy was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to my frogs and helping me find what to house them with and their food. Unfortunately, one of my frogs died the very next day which I know for a fact could have not been due to any of my fish or my tank. It was probably sick before I received it because frog number 2 is healthy and active. Good news! They have a good return policy and if it dies within 14 days, or in my case the 24 hours, you just have to bring the body back and your money back. It was kind of weird having a dead frog in my purse, but makes for an interesting story. I didn't get his name, but the person who helped me has short curly hair and glasses! He was very nice and funny and made my return process go smoothly after discarding of my fish. Their ghost shrimp are thick as hell only at 39 cents. I'll be back to stock up! One star for the friendly staff. However, went today and was going with good faith that it was gonna be a good trip (this was also the last chance i was giving them, everything dies). Bought a few platys and shrimps. Brought them home, let them acclimate for 30 or so minutes. Came back to the tank and 3/4 platys were dead and 1/6 shrimps was also dead. I called the store, explained the issue and they told me to bring the dead ones back and we can return/exchange them. Went back to the store. No issues, friendly staff and made the exchange. Came home. Acclimated again, the platys so far are still alive. But 3/6 shrimp have died. Never going back again for anything. UPDATE: this morning (09/18/19) went and checked on the tank and all of the shrimps are dead. read more

I am generally a fan of PetSmart, but unfortunately, after visiting this location, I will think twice before making my next visit. I ordered an item online and had to return it. I had the slip with me, followed the instructions and brought it to the cashier. The cashier had no idea how to process the return and looked for his manager, Leslie. He called her over the intercom, and no response. She did not come. I had been waiting for fifteen minutes off to the side, and still nothing. He then stopped her for assistance and she said, "NO" and cut him off from even asking him the question that he had. I could not believe it! After talking to the cashier and reminding him that I still had not been tended to, he asked her again and apparently she said to either scan the bar code or only a gift card can be given back. Well, I was never given a barcode - not via email, not via the packing slip, and so, he was unable to process it, and I only received a gift card. I could not believe the terrible customer service by the manager (though the cashier did an excellent job trying to help me! and for that, he gets 5 stars). Very unhappy with my experience here. So, if you scroll down you will see the first review I had wrote a couple months ago due to poor customer service and harassment from the store manager, "Klair". In retaliation to my phone call with corporate, Klair has BLOCKED my dog from ever further receiving grooming services from PetSmart. The mountain view location told me about their "internal notes" and said my dog's profile shows "pet not QUALIFIED" for grooming services. Can someone tell me what the qualifications are because my dog has never shown aggression, has been given pamphlets back with grooming notes and compliments for being such a good dog. In fact, I have been told that my dog still does well with the nail shaving even after the incident where she has bled in the past. (Which happened at the Sunnyvale location, but they took extremely good care of everything & I had no complaint then. That location is amazing). You can also ask any staff members for upcoming pet adoptions. Along with live pets they carry, they also have all the essential supplies associated with the type of pet you own. I'm usually around the dog section for my puppy, usually picking up cleaning supplies and food for Zeus. He's adorable but he still likes to leave a little here and there if you what I mean. You can also get their generic store brand supplies which is just as good as some top name brands but a lot cheaper, it's called Top Paw..check it out. [Service] Instead of going all over town looking for a groomer and then having to go to the pet store for supplies, why not let Petsmart be your one stop shop. They have almost everything you need from grooming and pet training! Also, if you're not completely satisfied on the product you purchased, they take back practically everything. Well, i got a new dog... so that means i spend a LOT of time at pet stores. I've become pretty partial to this one. It's a nice big store, with a great selection and plenty of space. "stuff" - in my humble opinion, they are more of a dog store than a cat store. why do i say that? because i can find everything i want for my dog, but not as much for my cats. could just be what i'm shopping for... but still, my opinion. but on the dog side, the selection is massive. food, treats, toys (omg so many toys), leashes, collars, beds... it goes on and on. we were able to find everything we needed, plus lots of stuff we didn't even know we needed ;) they have a doggy daycare and grooming, but i haven't tried those yet. just might have to... i've been happy here so far! read more

Utterly useless, they don't even care if my dog will get paralyzed. All I needed was a nail trim and my dog gets stressed out a lot. They continue to ask me to go to the Vet to get him to check out when I literally told them the vet clinic is fudging FULL until October and yet, they still deny the nail trim service. I am VERY disappointed in your Grooming salon employees today. I've been a customer of Petsmart for nearly 10 years and this is the first time I felt the need to write a review. I had a noon appointment for my dog to get a basic bath & nail trim. Last time I took him in, Alaina did a great job on him! While my dog looks nice and clean now, I'm not happy knowing my dog waited almost 3 hours for me to pick him up because no one ever called me to say he was ready. I was working and lost track of the time & when I realized it was 3:30 so as I was about to call to see what's taking so long (figured it was busy, ok), I received a call asking when was I coming to pick up my dog. I said no one contacted me. Whoever was on the phone said Alaina said she called you "before she left for the day" and they also texted and emailed me. I told them I did not receive ANY communication from Petsmart today - I have been sitting on my computer with my cell phone next to me - it did not ring, I received no texts, and I was working in my email and NOTHING ever came. I got off the phone & rushed to pick up Kingston. When I get there, Erica tells me Alaina TOLD her she spoke to me. I said no, I did not receive a call. Again I am told they texted and emailed me...and again, I tell them I did not receive any notifications about my dog being ready. She just looks at me and keeps doing whatever she was doing. No empathy, no nothing...and someone else want and got Kingston. I ask for the manager & she says she is the salon manager but can get me a store manager if I want. Again, no empathy or anything. Here comes the manager on duty. He apologizes for the "miscommunication" and says unfortunately he can't find out what happened because his groomer is gone for the day. I again say how disappointed I am and he asks what can he do for me. How does an upset person answer that question? My dog is a very anxious, older dog (and my baby!) and does not do well in crates for a long period of time. At this point, I just wanted to get my dog home. I went to the register and paid then came home and wrote to Petsmart corporate and now posted on Yelp. Looks like I'll need to find a new place to take my dog. read more

Took my little one and the kids to buy a little fish. They were so excited, took their time looking at fish bowls, cleaners, and food to take care of the fish. Then they went to pick out a fish to take home with them. Katelyn or whatever her name is thinks she's a fish whisperer of some sort. REFUSED to sell us a gold fish because we can't properly take care of a fish unless we also buy a 30+ gallon tank, filter, and heater along with the goldfish. I am now giving this PetSmart a 1 star, They lost the best groomer Eva Shelli, I have taken my Siberian Husky here to Shelli for 8 years she was great with my dog and he looked like a show dog every time I picked him up. I decided to try someone else since she was not there anymore and they did a HORRIBLE job! They trimmed only 1 side of his coat and it was so lopsided, his coat was wet still too. Then told me he should see another groomer who was more experienced!! So I guess that means they do not have experienced groomers there. Circumstances required I bring a recently deceased dog to their door. Scoop: Watched it get struck by a car, tried helping the little fella but he died while searching for a hospital. Not knowing what I should do ( I was in pajamas on my to IN-n-OUT) went inside and asked for guidance. -I was given a towel for privacy and cleaniness. So APPRECIATED ! I was getting a mess all over of fluids -walked to the back of the store to grooming with it rolled in the blanket. All done with respect. Truthfully. -they checked the heart. No sign of life - they took the dog. They found a chip and called the owner. If owner doesn't claim it they dispose of it- I didn't ask- *moral of the story: animals deserve dignity in death; petsmart lends great assistance in that regard so I'll for sure continue the familiy patronage. read more

I am deducting 2 stars for the inconvenience the grooming salon has caused me on two separate occasions. The past two times that I have called to make an appointment to get my dog a haircut, they have booked me incorrectly. I would call and schedule an appointment on that day, but when I show up, they would not have me in the books. They would have written me in for a different day. The first time, they were nice and corrected the problem and still allowed my dog to get a haircut. The second time though, they told me I had to come back the next day. This wreaks havoc on anyone with a busy day. They are definitely starting to get sloppy with their work and if it happens again, I probably won't come back. read more

Irritated and felt like I got ripped off today. I took my dog to get a bath and a nail trim but Cassandra didn't mentioned on the phone that they weren't able to do the nail trimming. She didn't even mention it at pick until I asked about it. I still had to pay $50 for bath. I could of just done the bath myself. I don't see why she couldn't cut the nails as the last groomer there was able to do it last time. If you guys bring your pet there, make sure your groomer is not Cassandra. There always are associates on the floor to get what the customers need. I enjoy this Petsmart a lot. The staff is super helpful and so friendly. The store is always in great condition and it's never really crowded when I go. When they see that there is a big line at the front of the store at the register, they will almost immediately open up a new register. There are very many helpful people at this store but one in particular is always very helpful: Mike. Mike is very helpful and kind. They have a huge selection of fishes, reptiles, birds, and rodents. My only gripe is with their cat adoption center. I volunteer at the Humane Society all the time and enjoy seeing the cats when I'm here. However, every time I have a question to ask or something, the cat lady(ladies) that come from adoption agencies not really affiliated with Petsmart are very uppity and seem to never want to engage in a conversation about the cat(s). They always seem like they're too busy for you and seem to be somewhat socially awkward. So just as a warning, if you're going to talk tot he cat adoption ladies, don't expect a warm reception. The most rude and unprofessional grooming staff I have seen in my life. First of all they did not inform me that the groomer I had booked for my GSD was not available, there was another girl who was supposed to be taking care of my dog. Unfortunately, we were late by 10 minutes and seeing the size of my dog she just started making stories that the company policy is to cancel the appointment etc. Well, I did not see any cancellation notice via email or text, WTH if you can't handle the dog then just let me know why making up stories? If you guys are so professional why don't you tell the customer if the groomer is not available, would you even consider another groomer? Or you just wait for the customer to drive in and then you make stories. I requested them as it was my Dog's B'day and someone dropped in last minute to wish him Happy B'day as we were about to leave. Kayla did such a great job with my dog. I told her that if she felt she couldn't trim her nails it was fine since my dog gets really scared, but she managed to file her nails at the perfect length. I picked up my dog and her coat was so soft and she smelled amazing. Kayla did a great job with brushing her coat and ear cleaning as well. I give 3 stars because the staff is always really nice, able to answer my questions, and the store is well kept. I gave 3 stars because... I've been thinking about bringing my puppy to do training classes there. As we're walking through the store we come across the trainer talking with another woman and her dog. I was trying to control Pippa's excitement by not allowing her to bark and be overly stimulated. Every time she barked I would tug on the leash and tell her "no barking". I also diverted her attention with a treat. Pippa is an extremely smart puppy and picks up well on commands. She has been listening to my commands and getting better (we just need to practice out of the house) Back to the story... So I'm telling her no barking and the trainer chimes in. Her:"Good luck with that... It'll never stop". Me:"Oh really!?" Her: "Yeah, its a normal thing for her, especially since she's a puppy" Me: "I had a corgi before her and we would not stop barking at everything" Her: "Yeah I have a little Yorkie (I think thats what she said) and she never stops barking. It's natural. Hmmm Good to know. Sounds like my dog is more well behaved than her. This really discouraged me from doing training classes there. If she can't train her own dog not to bark, then how would she be able to train mine? As a side note. I know puppies/dogs bark, I'm just trying to contain it while we're out in public and not to bark at other dogs/animals/children. Nip it in the butt while she's young. I trained my past dog all by myself with no trainer help. He was extremely well behaved and obedient. The only thing I could not do was get him to stop barking at EVERYTHING, so this was a very important quality to find in a trainer. read more

We told them we would call them back, unfortunately we never got to around to calling them back. But we just thought that well okay we made her appointment for 12:30 it will just stay as 12:30. wrong. they call me right now telling me to bring her in or we have to reschedule. very unprofessional and will not be returning. if you claim to be that packed and busy your yelp scores do not reflect that since your business seems like it's sucks. Which it does along with customer service. Don't call people the day of an appointment and change things up because you guys failed to make a schedule that fits all dogs that day.
