Don't waste your time. I scheduled a bath appointment and told them ahead of time that my dog has a small, almost fully healed incision near his anus. I also made it clear that my vet had already approved him for a bath. They still told me to come in so they could check it in person. After driving 30 minutes in traffic, the manager then told me they don't accept pets with any wounds , even small almost healed ones with vet approval (because of their policy. If that's the policy, fine -- but why not say that on the phone and cancel the appointment? It would have saved me a long drive and wasted time. Honestly, after this, I looked more closely at their Yelp page and saw many 1-star reviews from other customers describing grooming injuries and issues like razor burn. It feels ironic that they were so strict about my dog's tiny healed incision, yet there are multiple public reviews from pet owners who say their dogs were hurt during grooming. read more

The customer service associate told me, "there's an online sale going on so it will take some time." When I asked for an estimated time, they couldn't give me one and just repeated that same line. Isaiah is the worst groomer ever! He is not mean or vicious. But, I do not think he has ever seen a cat or touched one, let alone groomed one. Called me 20 min before appt to tell me he's late. It took 1 hour to ck in my sweet little angel. Which he put on weird gloves to remove him from carrier, he couldn't figure it out, so decided to take 9 screws out to get my cat out. I'm really sorry to throw you under the bus. But, I do believe you would have let my kitty get hurt to save yourself. This! Is not the calling for you. Please do some ,background, some training ,any kind of real qualifications to take care of such precious animals. They don't seem to care about their animals. This bird has been there for weeks. They used to have them quarantined and now it's with multiple birds. The poor baby seems in so much pain. I'm here to shop and pay for it, but person that rung me up she seemed to have issue not knowing how to handle cans food which I'm pretty sure they'd know not to throw it around. Cans/containers food should not be tossing around where it gets dent. Why throwing and dumping the cans in the bag like with irritation or anger. Good for her the cans weren't dent. Pet smart is okay but it is a hit or miss. Sometimes the appointments take forever. Maybe, the doctor is like a few minutes late. Other than that it is okay. Today, I went to my puppy's appointment. I checked in early and my puppy didn't get seen until 12:09 pm. His appointment is at 12. So not bad but for my other dog, they took longer. It is your choice to come here if you want. The dog training is okay. But the teacher is busy talking to other dogs that are not in the class. The teacher is good but honestly, you could teach your puppies at home. Been here a few times never a complaint staff have very helpful and attentive. I noticed they do have cat adoption on display along with few other animals hamsters and parakeets. We always bring our two huskys to this petsmart to get groomed every 4-6 weeks. We can't say much about the hair cuts, as we always get an upgraded bath & brush for their double coats but the team is great. The grooming center is always busy and when they're understaffed it honestly looks so stressful so we definitely want to give them props. Not sure what's going on with all of these hairstylist pets here, but we were unable to get any appointments with Petco until December or January at the earliest. My dog ended up getting very sharp edges nails like they forgot or not knowing how to perform grinding on dog's nail...all they did was a trim then charged for both services. It was suspicious when they called me up to pick up my dog too quickly like within 5mins. I didn't noticed until I saw my dog's ear bleed and found out her nail were still so sharp! I noticed that the Chinchilla's being sold at this store are under extreme duress. Chinchilla's are nocturnal creatures being forced to remain awake for shoppers. There was one transparent blue house for 3 Chinchilla's to share. The thing is it was very translucent which is harmful to their sleep health. This review is for the grooming salon. I've always taken my dog to the grooming salons at PetSmart and never had complaints. My dog has short hair so she only goes for the bath+brush combo. The groomers at the salons have never complained about my dog and have always let me know how sweet is and how well she does. My dog always came back from the salon clean and happy until today. When we picked her up, she seemed distressed but we figured she'd feel better once we got home. At home she still seemed distressed and when we took a closer look, she had a small cut on her front leg which the groomer never told us about. She went for a bath, so not sure how she ended up with a cut. As with many other pet owners, my dog is like my kid so any small injury or a visit that makes her distressed is unacceptable. Due to this experience, this will be the last time we visit this salon since I cannot trust that the next groomer here will treat my dog well. read more

I just called for a simple check on vet prescribed dog food, and the male who answered the phone said they would be unable to check because they were busy & no one was available. I had a horrible experience at the Curtner Ave., Petsmart in San Jose. one of the groomers called out and so I received a phone call that My appointment was canceled. When I called to reschedule I was told there was a cancellation so I asked if I could take that appointment. I asked about their grace period and was told 15 minutes. Im disabled but I got that as fast as I could and made it to the grooming door only to be told I was one minute late past the grace period so they wouldn't take my dog. I explained I couldn't walk faster without my walker but one of the groomers refused to let my dog stay. I called corporate to complain. Luckily, I was able to bring my dog to this location on the day I needed. I Brought my dog Charlie in for his very 1st grooming appt. Julie was his groomer and she was great! She called me less than an hour after dropping him off. When I came in to pick him up she let me know he did a great job like he's been groomed before. Updating my review because my previous last two visit went incredibly well. You know why? It was a completely different staff. Everyone was very helpful and helped customers in an orderly fashion. I didn't get ignored for an hour like I was a few months back. On Wednesday, I bought a fish that I named Kevin. When I woke up Thursday, he was floating sideways. Fish killed by aggressive bagging for transport; Hi PetSmart, you're doing it wrong! Shame on me for going to a big box chain pet store for fish; I'll be going to a mom and pop pet store from now on for my fish purchases. I don't want my $30 back. Sadly, I will always remember the disappointment in my son's eyes when we got home with a bag full of dead fish. Awesome. The Facts. -- This afternoon I went to PetSmart on Curtner Ave. My 8-year-old son was to buy Neon Tetra fish. -- We purchased 15 Neon Tetra fish, and I handled the soon to be purchased fish in a bag. We didn't linger in the store, nor did we make any other stops; we went straight home. -- I noticed that the bag felt overly inflated, almost like a firm mylar balloon. -- I asked for a paper bag to keep the fish in the dark for the ride home. (Worth noting: you should always keep your fish in the dark and quiet place while transporting them.) -- During the ride home, I kept the fish on the front seat next to me. They did not fall, move, or jerk. Also, the seat wasn't hot. -- We live within a seven-minute drive from the store. The total drive time, with stoplights, was approximately 10 minutes. -- When we got home, two of the 15 fish we purchased were alive; meaning 13 of the 15 fish had died. By "died," I mean they died in the plastic bag from PetSmart, they NEVER made it into my tank. The two that made it home, died within five minutes of being in the tank. I'm not a scientist, nor am I an expert, but I concluded that the bag was so overinflated from the store that the pressure killed the fish. Why do pet stores feel compelled to inflate bags with compressed air is beyond me. Blow in the bag (do this post COVID) OR please or teach your employees to give a little puff of air and remind them this is not a balloon inflating factory. read more

Walked in to get my dog who got sick over Christmas weekend checked up since she stopped eating. They charged me $600 tried to sell me a fuck ton of medicine that would make her "feel" better and said my dog would get better just for her to pass 30 minutes after arriving home.
