This review is for the grooming department. I was able to book a next day appointment with Petsmart for my 5 month Ttoodle. Pearl was way over due for a hair cut. She couldn't see anymore, her bangs were covering her eyes. I am very glad I chose Serena as her groomer. She did a WONDERFUL job on my baby. I definitely recommend Serena if you need a grooming for your pup, I showed Serena an idea of how I want my baby to have her hair groomed and it came out excellent as the picture shown, not perfect but close enough. Thank you Serena for taking care of Pearl. Oh I wanted to mention this is my second visit with the grooming department but the first one I wasn't really satisfied. It was barely a trim. I definitely will choose Serena again for any future services...! read more

Made an appointment for a haircut and shower for my dogs and when we show up, they say they're "too old" and "too dirty" and that it would take too much time. If it would take too much time, why did they allow for the appointment. Do your damn job and stop complaining. Bought a 30lb bag of dry dog food one day...opened it up....FULL of MAGGOTS. I then requested to get a different brand due to the horrifying sight I saw with my previous purchase and that bag was infested as well. I asked if they rotate their products to prevent their food from getting contaminated and they said it's not their fault, it's the manufacturing's fault. That being said...why even put that product on their shelves. Just saying. (Tip: look at the actual shelves before buying dry food and look for any maggot remains. This is one of the better Petsmart I've been to. The workers here are all really kind and they are always offering to help you. They also do a pretty good job keeping everything neat and organized here. I've been to other stores where everything is scattered around everywhere. Eventhough I don't usually buy my pet supplies here since it's alot pricier than Pet Club, but I always like to take my dogs here to get groom. I called in yesterday to made an appointment to get my dog groom and they were nice enough to squeeze me in today. Jennifer was the one who worked on my dog she came out looking gorgeous. We have been coming to this PetSmart for years for all our dog needs. We recently got a new dog last year and decided to enroll the dog in the training classes that was offered at different levels. We enrolled our English Bulldog (Muffin) to the beginning course (not to mention very affordable) and the class was so effective and my dog learned so much and had so much fun. We recently completed the intermediate course and now currently in the advanced course. Melanie the trainer is awesome, knowledgeable, very passionate, and always spent extra time answering our questions and concern. I highly recommend Melanie. When it comes to grooming, I highly recommend Shelly. Shelly does an awesome job each and every time. Overall, I never had any problems; the staffs are helpful and knowledgeable, and for a pet store, it's clean. Also, love the dog clothes that's always on sale. read more

I took my lil dog here a couple of days ago, This is actually not a review of the groomer who took care of my dog, she actually did an ok job, however the fat lady who checked me in was a completely rude bitch. Whatever happened to showing others respect? I walked in and was not even greeted right away, oh but she saw me and my dog walk in, she just chose to ignore us. Finally after about a minute or so she rudely looked at us and said "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?!" duh! why would i be standing here if i didn't, she then proceeded to check me in and DRAGGED my dog to the back of the room. my dog is little, only around 15 pounds max and he loves to be around people and other dogs. Nothing was said to me so i didnt even know if i was supposed to leave or stay to do any paperwork???? a page was shoved into my hand and i was asked to initial and sign it, no explanation on anything and i asked a question, she sighed and gave me a short rude answer, i signed the paper she took it from me told me an approximate time to come back and then walked away. Seriously this bitch needs to take that stick outta her arse, and learn to to treat others with respect and be a professional at work, if you hate your job so much get a new one because people dont want to be treated like dirt under your shoe. Thank god she was not the one who took care of my dog. The girl who did actually bathe my dog did a real nice job and was friendly i felt ok knowing that she was at least nice because i felt really uneasy leaving my dog with the fat one. When i was paying for my supplies while my pup was being groomed i seen the store manager speaking with someone else who was unhappy with their grooming experience, he completely dismissed their concerns and was somewhat obnoxious ad oblivious to the fact that their employee was mistreating customers. he seemed like an idiot to be honest. the store employees are usually nice with exception of the younger man who works in the fish area. i will be back to get supplies but wont return to the salon. save yourself the trouble, go somewhere were the employees actually care about their job. read more

When this place first opened they were if-y on the grooming. My Yorkie came out looking like he got into a fight with Edward Scissorhands a cpl times so I waited. I've been taking him and our new Yorkie here since 2011 and they're great now. We had a major financial crisis recently and they were pretty matted but the groomer was able to make them look like civilized pooches again without making us feel like a-holes for not being able to bring them in for as long as we waited. PS: The 2011 and 2012 negative reviews make those of us who love our pets seem like crazy people! The person talking about the husky and her cat certification (LMAO)!! Some of the scenarios sound like they're written while you're still pissed off! People, perhaps allowing yourself to calm down and then review; so you don't sound like a certified cat socializer who should be allowed to help the groomers at Petsmart with DOGS!!! This is for the grooming salon, specifically Karen who groomed my dog-Ichi- for the first time last week. I just moved to town a few months ago and had major anxiety about finding a new groomer. My dog is a rescue dog and has some traumatic history so I was nervous to send him to a new groomer as he had been going to the same groomer for years. Worst customer service ever! I went in trying to buy a goldfish. Mind you I've been raising them for three years and wanted more, but I didn't get it. This rude employee made me feel like I didn't"have what it takes" to raise a goldfish. She refused to sell it to me after I asked three times. She said "it wouldn't be fair to the fish." Well, if she cares about the fish so much then she shouldn't have other tanks where there are dead goldfish at the bottom and the others are eating it! That's horribly bad for the fish! She also told me "Maybe you should come when I'm not here or go to Petco." Such a rude lady!! The other times I've been in there my experience was good. This one time completely ruined it for me. When you need to get goldfish for Noo Ruz, here is the place to go. We bought two goldfish, fish food, dechlorinator, and a glass bowl (very traditional according to Rez). Now the haf seen is complete and we are ready to celebrate. This Petsmart is very clean and well-organized. Although we interrupted a staff meeting (and the person leading the meeting in the fish aisle area gave me "the look"), the young man who helped us get our items was very nice and thoughtful. I'm giving this bad review for their grooming services. I took my dog here a week ago to get a haircut, ear cleaning, nail trim, the whole shabang. Turns out, my dog had ear infections in both ears from water still being in there after his ear cleaning/bath session. On top of that, they gave him a razor cut in the back of his neck that caused him to scratch at it to the point of bleeding.Thank goodness our vet is very good and is able to treat my dog right away. Nothing hurts more than to see your little baby in pain. I'm never bringing my dog back here again. read more

This place looks huge from The outside but really there's not much to offer on the inside. I came here thing to find a harness for my husky and the options were super limited. I also asked for help and asked about training course sand didn't get much information from them. This is my fault.. But I tried to return a harness my brother bought from petco at petsmart lol (I know lol).. When I tried to return it the women just looked at me like " -_- , no you cant". I felt soooo embarrassed and ended up not buying or exchanging anything. When I told my sister she said they had allowed her to return an item that she had wrongly tired to return before and maybe I had just not gotten lucky with customer service. Perhaps that was the case and perhaps it was also because I pulled a stupid move doing that. Proceeding, they was a lot of range for animal stuff but not a lot for specific animals and it's super pricey. It looks as if hey have a good grooming program going on in the back though because I saw a lot of people. Initially I didn't think there was a difference between petco and petsmart but there is a huge difference. Petco has so much more to offer including good customer service. I haven't really walked around the store, but everytime I go in I'm acknowledged with a smile and a nice greeting =) Anyway, when I first found my pom mix, Roldy (after Harold in Harold and Kumar) on the street, I decided it would be best for both of us to take obedience training together. Our trainer was Ashely Cassaza and she is AWESOME! She really knows what she's doing and she has helped me and Roldy create a bond that is now unbreakable. =) He totally respects and listens to me now. He learned how to: Name Recognition Watch Me Sit Sit-Stay Down Down-Stay Sit for Petting Wait Come Stay with distractions Leave It I know it sounds like "man, I could do this at home!" But please, go out and take your dog to training. It would only benefit you and your dog. Petsmart training is $119 compared to other training out there ($165 is the cheapest from the research I did) and it worked perfectly! If you have an unruly dog and don't have much cash, PLEASE see Ashley and start training with her right away! read more

What I saw today is what is becoming so typical with big box stores: apathetic employees. I visited this store to buy some ceramic bird seed cups. There weren't any for sale, but there were at least 10 cups of the style that I wanted in the store's live bird cages. When I asked a sales representative about the cups, I was told in an indifferent tone there weren't any, and the rep didn't understand "corporate" and what corporate does. So this is why I don't plan to recommend this chain. Evidently "corporate" doesn't understand how to market (don't display what you don't have for sale), and clearly management is not doing enough to keep employees informed, empowered, and caring. read more

So I've been to a Petsmart in Palmdale, CA. Though they were all the same when it came to Grooming...Guess not. So it's mid-February when I bring in my cat. At my old Petsmart you could do walk in. When I got there they kindly asked that I call ahead next time. That's cool. Then they say they won't take my cat unless he has his vaccinations papers...Okay. Gotta go back home to get his papers. It makes sense I mean. I don't find harm in it. Felt bad for the guy. My cat was pissed. My cat doesn't like getting his nails clipped...But he clips them and brushes him to get all that extra fur off. When I get home I noticed he didn't even cut all the nails or they were trimmed a bit too far down...Grrrr. Maybe this should have rung a bell. So it's late March and my cat needs his nails done again. So I call to make an appointment the day before. This guy picks up and tells me "Oh no appointments. Just call right before you come in tomorrow. He's here between 8 and 3:30." So I'm like...Okaaaay. Well the next day comes and the cat is unhappily in his carrier when I call Petsmart and some guy answers. Me: "Hi. I'm hoping to drop by and get my cat's nail's clipped." Guy: " Uh we don't do cats..." Me: "...You don't?" Guy: "No. Only dogs. Sorry." Me: "...I've brought him in before and I called yesterday. The guy yesterday said I could bring him in." Guy: "Uh sorry? We don't do cats." WTF?! Did the cat groomer literally quit the moment after I called the day before or that morning?! Whatever. I found another Petsmart who does walk ins in Campbell. The store is clean and organized. They have good options to choose from but their Grooming section is lame. If I could give a grooming service negative stars I would. My dog was dropped off at 10:30 in time for her appointment and told the lady to call him and NOT the main number when the dog is ready. At around 2:30 my boyfriend became concerned that no one had called about the dog so he called Petsmart and the lady said oh we are running late sorry. At 3:30 they call me (the person they weren't suppose to call) and said the dog is ready. Then they charged us $7 for having the dog be at the groomers for longer than 4 hours when THEY WERE LATE. I COULD FORGIVE ALL OF THAT...... I don't agree with the policy but i'll deal with it. Looking down at my dog I saw SHIT ON MY DOGS TAIL. I tell the lady your late policy sucks but there is shit on my dog's tail could you clean it since I just paid $82 for a clean dog. Then SHE HANDS ME PAPER TOWELS AND EXPECTS ME TO CLEAN THE DOG! They store is great. Everything is well cleaned and organized. They don't have the pet hospital...I have to go all the way to the one on Coleman. The people in the grooming are mean and very rude. I get my dogs nail trimmed here. They always are rude to me when I bring her in. You don't need an appointment for nail trimming it is walk in. It takes less than 5 minutes. Pros: Never really busy and very organize. Also, if you have the petperks card you can get discounts on a lot of items. People who work here are very helpful and are all animal lovers, so they have some tricks in the bag. I do like like independent pet stores like Andy's Pet shop, and I really think we should support them. I try my best to go there, but sometimes it is about selection and convenience. Cons: A little expensive (like $1-3 dollars more usually) on some food items, but they have a wide selection of premium food to budget food. I don't really mind paying a few dollar more for convenience. Recommendations: As we all know we like to take care of our pets and cat/dog food can get quite expensive. If you save 10 barcode cutouts, you can mail it in to the company (Royal Canine etc.) and they will email you a coupon for a free bag. You can redeem it at the store. I ordered cat food online for the first time and selected picking it up here but what a mess it has been. It ended up the store couldn't fill almost half of the so I called the store to tell them to please cancel the order. Whoever answered the phone said to contact the website to cancel the order so I did that. Then the website responded saying that the store needs to cancel the order. Wow. When I responded to the website, they apologized for the mishap but still haven't cancelled the order or refunded my money. Additionally, the website says that if you haven't picked up your order in five days, they'll cancel your order. Well, it's been a week and they haven't cancelled it yet. I've had to dispute the charge because neither the store or website have any clue how to cancel the order it seems. Run, don't walk away from their business. Had no issues with their direct competitor, I received my order almost immediately. And delivery was free. read more

Great service. Just went in today to get some snacks and bandage/wraps for our dog because he cut his foot. Deborah was super nice and super helpful. She gave us little tips about cheap and easy snacks for our dog, and was quiet friendly, making our trip quick, easy and uplifting. Especially since I was sorta distraught about my dog. I love the grooming department at this Petsmart. Being 15 years old, my dear old puggers can no longer hold her bowl movements. So when squeezed in a certain way, there is a great chance you will be poo'd on. I would have to say, almost all of the workers here have been poo'd on, yet they still don't get mad. Maybe they're into the German snuff stuff, like 1 groomer, a dog and a cup or something like that... They stay professional, and it seems like they actually care about pets here. She always leaves with her nails trimmed properly, no bleeding, no nails curled under. I love how much care they put into the pets here. For sure it's not for the $$, because we tried to tip them before and they said they couldn't take it. If you want great care, come to this Petsmart! We love this PetSmart! Our now 8-month-old maltipoo took beginner classes here with Leslie and he loved it so much. There were only two other dogs in the class with us so it was intimate and he learned a lot from her. Leslie is such a fun person to be around too. She's goofy and super personable. We were always laughing and having a great time in class. We also take him here to be groomed by Shelli, who came highly recommended by Leslie. The first two times we took him to be groomed (at other PetSmarts), they told us that our pup moved too much and was really difficult. Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't. Who knows?! But Shelli never has any difficulties with him and he is always SO excited to see her. She radiates positive energy and is so sweet. She tells us that he is always really good and never causes any issues so *phew*! The parking is easy because it's part of a bigger outdoor shopping center. read more

Nicest Petsmart I've been to. This Petsmart looks nice inside and out. It's clean and there's no animal feces or urine all over the place. Everything is organize and the pricing is decent. I never buy dog food from Petsmart because it's cheaper at Pet Club. They have a wide variety of dog toys and beds. I come here to buy dog beds, crates, dog bowls, and toys for my little ones. My yorkie's visor was getting so long I thought she was going to go cross eyed. We took her here for a trim instead of a full groom because she just hates baths. When we got there they had a list of all their services and the price. At first we were told over the phone that they will do light scissoring on the body but when we arrived, that was not the case. The reason was because to would dull the scissors cause shes "dirty". The trim was $21 which should have included 15 minutes of brushing. Overall it took 15 minutes for the whole trim so I know for sure she was not brushed for 15 minutes. I feel pretty disappointed and ripped off but at least they did the other things like the nails, ears and gave her a bow. read more

We go to this Petsmart nearly weekly for our dog and cat, and are usually pleased. They have the food, treats, and toys that our animals love and it is easy to take our dog there to walk around. Services: 1) Training We took our dog to do basic training with Ariel and he is outstanding! I have seen other trainers both there and around parks and such and Ariel creates a positive environment to teach the dog the basics and more. He is good with all levels of dogs and in our group, saw many developments even in the shiest, most stubborn dogs. Even when we go back (6 months later) Ariel still greets our dog and us and checks in. We joke that our dog's favorite part of the pet store is seeing Ariel. 2) Grooming We took our dog to get a bath and it was pretty pricey. We are just as well off taking it to a local groomer to do the work. We avoid the haircuts after some stories of friends whose dogs got trimmed too short or even nicked. It feels like going to a super cuts to pay barbershop prices. We will always go here for our pets needs (outside of grooming) as the prices of the items are pretty competitive and the environment is extremely comfortable for our dog to be in. read more

Luna's regular groomer Andrea has been on maternity leave since September and Luna's October and November appointments with Caidee had been fantastic. My pooch always come home looking and smelling good for a week until her next bath. Unfortunately Caidee seems to no longer be with Petsmart so I decided to just try out a newer name, Gianna. That was one of the worse experience I have with the Curtner location. For once I didn't come to pick her up due to a change in my work schedule so I asked my mom to. Luna came home looking like they barely did anything on her, there were way too much fur falling out, Ive never gotten so much of her fur on me picking her up. To top it off, she did not smell great, no bow or bandana (I got top pup plus) and they didnt send me a mail notifications until I remembered and gave them a call regarding my pooch's status; turns out she's been ready for 2 hours (I got the mail about a minute after I hung up w them) There were so many things indicate that the salon was not busy that day, the fact that I was able to book an appointment the night before speaks volume. I called them up the next morning because I got home at 10 and it was way passed store hours. I was in the middle of telling them all of the issues, was cut off mid sentence over the phone and the associate came back after a brief hold offering me a free bath. I told them I won't take a $20 compensation for a full $71 service gone wrong. That was when Luis came on and I finally got to talk to him. He offered me a redo and I gladly accept. I hate being "that" customer but I hope they can understand it was so badly done that I need to make a complaint. If you have trouble remembering which shampoo was used on her, ask me, just don't change it to something that smells like absolutely nothing. I only deducted one star because while this last experience has been horrid, this location has been fantastic to me. Leslie helped me out w many training questions and all the staffs are always very friendly. One person can't ruin all I've seen in the past. This review is for Jay in the grooming salon. Boba has been going to Jay since he was 12 weeks old. He was recommended by a friend who also has a Portuguese Water Dog, a breed infamous for being turned into a poodle if put in the hands of the wrong groomer. Jay is wonderful. While I'm sure being groomed isn't Boba's favorite thing, he seems to do just fine with Jay. I have snuck some peeks during his grooms (like most Petsmarts, the grooming salon has a huge window into the store) and Boba just stands there and lets Jay have his way with him. I say that's a good sign! He always comes out looking like a different dog (in a good way!) His fur is always so clean and soft. And he always looks like a Portuguese Water Dog, but with little improvements, like very short hair under the chin (it mats easily when it is long) and he keeps the entire tail long (just a personal preference.) If you have any special requests, Jay will listen and deliver. Unlike some Petsmarts, at the Curtner location where Jay works I have never been pressured into upgrading my groom. Also, while none of the other groomers have worked on Boba, they all seem nice and in a pinch, I would trust them with my dog. That says a lot! If you are on a budget, but want to know your pup is in good hands, call the Curtner store and ask for Jay! read more

I have a mini toy poodle and I've been looking for a groomer who can continue to look how she does which is teddy bear like. I called Petsmart Curtner and they didn't have any appointments so I called Hamilton and got an appointment right away. I took her in and Amanda was the groomer. I told her that Bella didn't need much grooming just continue to make her look like a teddy bear and give her a bath. She called about 2 hours later and I went to get her. I was SHOCKED AND APPALLED!! She didn't look teddy bear at all!! I almost cried! She was shaking and Amanda gave us a report card which contradicted everything we've heard about Bella in puppy daycare. It read that Bella was feisty and she told us Bella needed to go to puppy training. She was just in daycare last week and received rave reviews!! Anyways, please don't waste your money, time or your puppy's well-being. read more

The curtner pet hospital inside this pet smart is the best. I believe the girl that helped me was Norma (sorry if that's wrong) . She was so kind and helpful. If you ever go to the pet hospital here, ask for Norma! As for the actual pet smart, it seems like a good store, a manager called Kaitlyn was very intuitive and helped a lot on another day. I was a little put off with how I saw a manager talking to their second cashier after the girl had stepped away from the cashier to help someone. They also really need more people, it's short staffed so the wait can add up to a while. read more

Love this PetSmart. All the employees are so helpful and knowledgeable. The store is very well stocked and they always have what I need.

We went in to buy some aquarium supplies and every employee we encountered were rude!!! With this snobby, stuck up attitude. I had my two toddlers with me and they needed to use the bathroom and when I asked the employee just sitting at the grooming area doing absolutely nothing, she looked annoyed and replied with a pompously smirk "sorry we closed the restrooms to all the customers." I was standing there with my daughter doing the peepee dance!!! Jerk. And the when my husband asked for help with getting some fish. The employee just kept asking all types of questions while it's really none of her business. Like "what size is our tank? Are we putting turtles inside?"But she couldn't help herself but give him her two sense and very difficult for us to just buy fishes. read more
