The manager at this location is beyond rude and extremely unhelpful. I just adopted a cat and was upper exited to come in and shop. I had a few questions regarding pet stair and gates. I've never purchased these items before for a pet and I asked her if she could help me. She just pointed me in the direction of where I could find them and walked away. I proceeded to wander around the store and was looking at cat trees when another employee approached me who was very helpful. That's the only reason the store is getting three stars. When I went to check out, the manager was at the register she and another employee were talking crap about other people that worked at the store in front of a whole line of people. She didn't even speak to me as I was checking out and just had a very unpleasant demeanor.. The store is very convenient to me, but I don't know if I'll be coming back because I don't want to deal with her again. read more

Took my 6yr old doggy for the first time to a groomer. I normally groom him myself. But was feeling lazy. I booked with Jazmine. And he was very resistant during drop off. But was very happy during pick up. So I think it all went well in the back. Their pet dryer def gave his poodle fur a big ole poof! He looked completely different even after me grooming him. I've got fishes and a bunch of things from pet smart, I look around at the fishes and trust me it was the worse thing i've ever seen. Literally ALL of the fishes in the we're dead there we're about couple alive. Went to pick up my dog after her grooming appointment. I was excites, my pup was excited, she looked and smelled clean and then my bubble is busted. The Rude grooming manager pipes up and advises me that next time there will be an additional charge. Not anything friendly just about as pissy as you can get. I was shocked. Apparently, they had a hard time trimming her because she wanted to sit down. Yep, she's a bit over weight! Yep, they are supposed to be the pros! Yep, she is a good dog but a bit lazy. I can think of much better ways to handle this situation other than being a rude, pissy, wine bag about this situation. Will not go back to Petsmart. Lost a customer. read more

Took my sisters dog in for her grooming appointment which was at 1:30. We got there a bit early at 1:20 and she was checked in. We were informed the groom would be 3-4 hours long and they would call us when she was ready. Keep in mind we live an hour away in the country so making this trip to get her groomed is not convenient but it needed to be done. About 4 hours later and we get no call, at this point it is 5:15 and my sister and I decide to walk in to see if she is almost done. We go in and the girl who is supposed to be grooming her is working on another dog. My sister asks if her dog is done, and the girl responds saying that she has only been washed and dried. My sister paid for a deluxe groom which includes a wash, cut, nail trim, ear cleaning, and teeth clean. She says it will be another hour before my sister's dog is ready. At this point we have waited 4 hours and her dog hasn't even been touched besides a bath which we can do at home. Long story short my sister tells the girl just to trim her nails and brush her and we will leave. $85 dollars for nothing. 4 1/2 hours later for a dog that looks the same and a waste of gas. The groomer tried to blame it on the fact that she was scared of the dryer. It does not take 4 hours for a dog to dry. Anyways we are extremely disappointed and will absolutely not be taking her back. What is the point of making an appointment at all if all other dogs will be put in front. read more

I went in to find a certain dog food that I'd been searching for weeks. This store was out of it too. I talked to manager who said that brand was having a shortage. I buy a 10 pound bag every 3 months for my Yorkie. It lasts me and it's cheaper than buying it every month in smaller bags. All they had were small bags. She was able to hook me up and I saved a lot of money. They went above and beyond at this location in Roanoke. This my new favorite store. If I need anything in the future I will be going here. I booked an appointment for my two dogs last Thursday for a bath and cut. Went to the salon to drop them off. The receptionist asks me, I see you chose the furinator, is this correct? I replied yes. I go to pick them up and immediately notice that their hair was longer than normal. I then asked if they used the #7 blade like they always do. This is when I found out they were never trimmed. The tech said, you did not select online that you wanted them trimmed. I had then explained I always get them a bath and trim. I saw that the furinator included a nail grind and ear cleaning for four dollars less, so that is why I chose it saving me eight bucks. Another tech responds and says, she isn't even qualified to trim dogs she just does baths. I told them how am I suppose to know her qualifications. They proceeded to tell me since I went online to book their appointment it was my fault and not theirs, so they were not going to refund me my money. I ended up talking with the store manager, she was very apologetic and very professional. She refunded me my money and told me to go back to the grooming salon to re-book my appointment for a haircut. I went back into the grooming salon to book their appointment and they denied me services, they refused their services and told me I needed to go to a Mom and Pop shop instead. I was literally in shock on how rude they were and their lack of customer service. After my experience I will never go back. All of this could of been avoided if the receptionist would of pulled up my account, she would of saw that I always get them a bath and haircut. Or said, I see you chose the furinator, this includes a bath and brush only is this correct? Right then and there I would have said, no and realized I had clicked the wrong services. read more

I used to work at the petsmart in Southlake, so coming to this one for the first time was disappointing. They had what I needed, but when I went to check out, it was empty and there was a bell on the counter that said "ring for service." There was an employee two registers down tinkering around that ignored me as I set my stuff down, and it took a full minute or two for another employee to come check me out. He was kind, but I know at Southlake Petsmart the cashiers never leave the front, requiring customers to ring a bell for service??? It was so strange. Never again! When we dropped him off I felt like we were all on the same page. The groomer called us to say that he was matted and she would have to shave an area on his side. Okay fine. Then they called back to ask if they could do his ears, ..of course, please do his ears.... then she called back a third time to ask if they could completely shave him because his muzzle was full of mats as well "it's going to look weird if we don't". I told them I was on my way and please don't do anything until I get there. They had shaved his ears down to the skin. I took him to see Candy at Roanoke Animal Hospital. She took one quick look at him and completely agreed with me that they were just burs from playing in the yard. No matts at all! Another nurse overheard our conversation at the Roanoke animal hospital and said that when you take your dog to PetSmart and they don't sit perfectly still, then they just shave them. I'm so upset. Plus Roanoke Animal Hospital is way cheaper and they keep them for you all day. When I got home I called to let them know. The manager of the grooming salon just backed everything up that they did. She even made it seem like it was her decision to do it. Customer service is a joke. read more

Every single fish i have purchased here has died within months. I have NEVER had that issue with any of the other pet store. I also know that i am taking proper care of my fish. The ones I purchased from here were noticeably smaller than the ones i purchased from the Pet Supermarket in Denton. Not to mention the staff here seem uneducated. Horrible customer service! I would rather drive to Southlake. I definitely don't recommend going there in general, but especially for their events. They're extremely unorganized and they don't care about you or your pets. I also called them about an issue and was told I would be contacted back that day to remedy the situation. It's been a few days and I'm still waiting on a call back. It's a shame this new store didn't train their employees properly. Derek is the store manager and does not take accountability for any mistakes made by his employees. We took Santa pictures with our pets and received the pictures in February! When we called to tell him we had not received in the 48 hrs promised, he said there is always an issue and most people don't get their photos...really? Why is this service offered and why is it so difficult to email the photo you took. We were the very first people in line, so you think it would be easy to find the photos, but no not the case. So far so good! Madison has groomed my papillion since they opened. (Much better than the South Lake location) They have had everything I need, every time I go. Very convenient location. I went into the store today to have my 4 month old labradoodle groomed today. He had been one other time to have just a face trim, so we decided to get him fully groomed there. Well, today we had a very different experience than what I ever thought we would have. I had talked with someone on the phone before we made the appointment, that this was the first time we have ever had a dog that needed to be groomed and she was very understanding and guided me through the process. We set up the appointment to be a puppy trim and a groom with the option of grooming him more if they felt it was needed. When I dropped him off with this morning, I got a lot of attitude from his groomer about how he should have come in earlier than being 4 months old and never being groomed. The said he should of come in sooner so he get used to getting groomed. I basically felt I was being schooled about everything I did wrong. She was very rude that he might not be able to handle all of it and they might have to stop mid grooming because I hadn't been bringing him in. He's only had his rabies vaccine since the week of Thanksgiving and I was told until he was vaccinated fully he shouldn't be around other dogs. read more

The only reason I brought my dog to this location was because the Denton store was all booked. I paid for my dog to get a deshedding bath, nails trimmed and grinded, ears cleaned, and teeth brushed which is usually around $80 and takes at least 3 hours. I got a call after 1 hour and when I asked "already??" Their answer was "ma'am, there's a storm coming so we're dead." Ok so weird enough, there's been a couple of times that I've taken my dog to get groomed and there's been a storm and it never was that quick. So when I picked her up her nails looked a little long but I thought maybe they look long cuz she's still a little wet. So when I got in the car I looked and they only looked a little filed down. Then later on I was close to her head and her ears still stunk and I'm not sure about the teeth brushing because her breath and teeth aren't the greatest anyways so that I can never tell. I will never return to petsmart for a grooming. The Denton location failed to call me and when I picked my dog up from them she was still soaking wet after being there for over 3 hours so I'm done with petsmart. When I contacted the customer service all they did was give me a $10 coupon for next time which is nothing when you pay $80 every time. read more

I really have had multiple good experiences with the grooming department. I guess it's just who you get. But I haven't had any issues and they are usually flexible with the schedules. My dogs don't seem to mind. If there was an issue they would be be afraid to go into the grooming area. As it turns out, they aren't. So I'm guessing things are okay for them during their session and they come out happy and clean. I haven't shopped for anything there, so I can't comment on inventory or other aspects of the store. read more

My experience at the grooming salon here was absolutely terrible and completely unprofessional. They spitefully trimmed my border collies fur down to his skin because of the situation I am about to explain. I originally ordered a scissor trim on my border collie, and a bath for both. Petsmart has a new policy where english bulldogs cannot be kenneled in the back, even though he is kennel trained, which would be completely fine if my border collie was not a rescue with anxiety without his brother (the english bulldog). He has to have his brother with him and he is perfectly fine for some reason. 15 minutes into their appointment I get called to come pick up my bulldog. I told the lady when I arrived that the border collie will be very difficult and howl when his brother leaves, he'll freak out. She just laughed. When I arrived back to pick up my border collie he was acting extremely terrified and bald as hell. They tried to charge me over $100 dollars for a single groom for him ("premium cut", more like "Shitty Cut"..), that they completely messed up, and extra charges for "special handling" because he was being difficult...After I clearly told them he would do that if they wouldn't let his brother stay with him. They could have just called me when he was doing that and I would have came and picked him up, instead of them cutting his hair down to the skin just to spite him. The manager and male groomer were unconcerned and extremely unprofessional.They were mad that I was questioning the charges and treatment and started being very rude to me. I had to start being very stern with them just to keep them and told them to stop interrupting me and being rude while I was just trying to explain the situation.. Not only did the manager never apologize one time, but I was told never to bring my dogs back to petsmart.. LIKE I WOULD! What a joke. He then tried to guilt trip me for his groomer not getting paid, which I responded was none of my business what his arrangement with his employee is. He discounted my invoice back down to $60 which I believe is fair and what I should have been charged with originally. I am not looking for anything for free, but I cannot stand when people like this try to take advantage of me over something I tried to warn them would happen. I WILL NEVER BE TAKING MY DOGS TO PETSMART AGAIN, and would highly recommend that you consider going elsewhere if you even care the slightest bit for your animal's well being. These people have no regard for customer service nor the animals they groom. read more
