From my initial visit to take a look at this place, to booking my 1-year old pup for board and train, all the way to picking up my dog after training - A+!! Taylor and her family are so kind, passionate about that they do, and the entire location reflects all of it, along with the love they have for the dogs in their care. Your pet will be in good, safe, and knowledgeable hands, in a safe and clean environment. The boarding rooms are like hotel suites! The pictures on their social media don't do this place justice! My small dog would not listen to a single command prior to being in training. She now is eager to continue training with me, and actually listens and does all the things you'd expect from basic obedience training. Highly recommend! read more

If you love your dog.....DO NOT....use this training center! The trainer at the Flower Mound location is terrible. She is rude and condescending to clients. She talks to people like they are dumb and should know information that they don't. Our sweet puppy did not like her and he loves everyone! He would not do any training techniques with her and would run back to us every chance he got. Oh and they make you sign a contract that doesn't offer refunds....how convenient....so that they can treat clients like crap and get away with it! Also they pushed the very expensive "board and train" option to us multiple times even when we said we didn't want that. We REGRET trying this place! We have used 6 trainers over the years for all of our dogs. Most were very good and I would recommend them again. I can't say that about this place. Unlike our other trainers, CMC actually treated our lab poorly. They also were just mean and nasty toward my wife and I. They made us sign a contract and pay for 8 training sessions up front. After our 3rd session, we decided we couldn't take our puppy back there. they were so mean to him that he became scared of them. I will now never recommend this business in hopes of saving others from making the same mistake we did. read more

This people at CMC are incredible. They trained our beautiful Golden Retriever, Ranger, who was so amazing and everyone just loved him. After he tossed the Rainbow Bridge we got another Golden puppy. We have both had dogs since we were kids. We are dog people, but our puppy, Buddy, was more than a handful. We tried all the recommended things--- lots of exercise, mental games, consistency, teaching commands and rewarding, etc. To say he was challenging is an understatement. We were actually facing a decision of maybe we were not able to give him a good life. This was after months of working. So we called CMC again and talked to Glenna. CMC and Glenna were our last hope. After working and staying at CMC for Board and Train, we have a different dog! He is happy, pays attention, can't wait to please, and does the Golden wiggle butt all the time. I have been in tears over the change. The ongoing support of Glenna, Amy and Susan is phenomenal. Many Saturday mornings we are able to come to the training hour only for graduates of their program. This allows us to keep up his skills and it is all part of completing their program. Give them a call....you will be so glad you did! read more

In February of 2021 my husband and I relocated to the Dallas Fort Worth area from California with two new 4 month old German Shepard/Lab Puppies. Once we settled in we started researching training and boarding facilities in the DFW area. After doing extensive research, visiting facilities and interviewing trainers we chose to take our ( now 9 month old puppies) to CMC in Justin TX for the 21 day obedience training. We just picked them up this week and we have been so impressed with the progress they made during their stay. Before deciding to take our pups to training my husband and I observed a couple of the group training classes and met with Susan the owner which sealed the deal! Taylor at the Justin location was our main trainer and we absolutely love her and so do Milo and Ruby:) If you are looking for a doggie daycare that provides fancy daily report cards this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean facility with experienced trainers that are going to love your babies as much as you do then I highly recommend CMC. One other important fact you will never be charged for extra walks, swim time, playtime, extra hugs and they are bathed before you pick them up. Group training is included for life as part of the board and train program. Where to start. I think that CMC, Susan and Glenna have been a part of our lives for about the last 10 years. We welcomed a 6-week-old baby Doberman "Bentley" into our home 10 years ago. We really wanted a Doberman but knew that it could get out of hand really quickly if you didn't know how to control them. We were fortunate enough to have a friend that referred us to CMC where we enrolled Bentley for their extensive training. To me it seemed like it was forever to be without my puppy and I wondered whether or not it would be worth it. It was. Absolutely. Worth it. Bentley was really such a different puppy after he had training. Well let me rephrase that to say, after we were trained Yes, he is strong-willed and tries to take over every now and then, but we always went back to the lessons that we learned from Susan and Glenna. We thought it was such a great program that when Harlee came into our lives 2 years ago, the first thing we did was sign her up for training. Just to give you an idea how much of a handful she was, her nickname when she was young was Hell Hound Harlee, lol. Turns out that she really needed the structure and training. Now, she waits by the backdoor every day to go to work with me. She is so intuitive with my staff and clients. This could have never occurred without her training at CMC. Our motto is "changing people's minds about Dobermans, one person at a time." And it truly has worked. So now is the best part, in my opinion. These ladies love your furbabies so much. They remember all of the important details and interactions that they have had with you and your pups over the years. Like I said, family. They also offer boarding services which we use 2-3xs a year. When you take your puppy to them, you know that they are getting literally the best care that they can. You're not going to be able to take them down the street and get them better care than what you are getting at CMC. They love your furbaby. Have you ever taken your dog to be boarded and have them strain against the leash not to go? Not here. The dogs just walk on in like they own the place. Home away from home. Just a little louder maybe :-) They have given so much advice, support and love to my family over the years. They really are an asset just to know and soak in their wisdom. I'm sure we will have more training sessions in the coming years but I can only say how blessed we have been to have them in our lives. Wow! I cannot say enough about CMC! I dreaded walking our pup. He barked, pulled, lunged...you name it. I have trained my other dogs, but after 1 1/2 years with him I threw in the towel and sent him off to Amy and Glenna. When we got there they showed us the little leash they would use. HA! I didn't believe it and was very doubtful. But I left him anyway. It was a long three weeks waiting for our baby to come back to us. The day finally came and we went to pick him up. She gave us a ton of instruction and showed us again the leash that you used to train him. I was still doubtful. And then he came out. They showed us what he could do and we got to train with him ourselves. He was amazing! I would say the first few days I was impressed - but not amazed. After a week of having him at home and training him every day, we took him back for a group lesson. He did even better! And then I brought him home again. It's been one week and one day since we first got him back and now I am AMAZED! Today I took him for his first walk around the block. He was amazing! No pulling. One bark. That's it! CMC did wonders with my pup! The group lessons made it all even better and I cannot wait for the next lesson. Now I thoroughly enjoy my walks with a Bear ! read more

Will never board here! They don't care about clients just money. Made arrangements 6 weeks prior to drop off. Called to bring them the dogs food etc, now they don't remember their promises and said they never told me I could drop off early ( which they did tell me because I have an early flight out). Don't expect them to honor any special arrangements for you. With 2 elderly dogs.... no way I'm going to board 3 day early $300 when my dogs don't need boarding those days!! read more

I've reached out to this company more than 5 times during the pandemic, following up to see if they have opened up for in-person training. Every time they always pushed for the board in train, an option I am not comfortable with. Come to find out the have opened up and now there is a waiting list till fall 2022. You would have thought the 5 times before they would have put me on a "waiting list". Very poor communication and management. I recently moved to Dallas and have been boarding my dogs when I travel with CMC. I've also had both dogs go through the board and training. CMC is fabulous. Prior to training at CMC, I didn't have any type of control with my German Shepherd puppy. It was chaos at my place. CMC taught her commands, structure and showed me how to be the pack master. The entire staff is also very, very sweet with the dogs; I can tell when I arrive and my two pooches are running up the walkway to greet the staff with kisses that they love CMC. Finally, they continue to help train via weekly Saturday sessions, which have been helpful for me to learn to better handle my dogs. I highly recommend CMC and feel fortunate to have them help me with my dogs in a positive and healthy way. read more

We have a German Shepherd puppy which we had trained @ CMC Dog Training. Granted German Shepherds are very smart, but our puppy was a totally different dog after 3 weeks @ CMC. She is so well-behaved now. I highly recommend this place especially if you have German Shepherds as the owner loves German Shepherds. They have free refresher courses on Saturday morning (only for dogs who have finished a 3 weeks course there). I recommend you attend those too with your dog. read more

First we have never posted a bad review before- who has the time right? As a responsible 2 dog owner, we had to submit our horrific story with CMC in hopes of saving others time,expense, and nightmares. If I could give 0 stars that would be too kind. Stay away from this place! Had the worst experience. We dropped our dog off and headed out on family vacation. As we are leaving town a young girl calls and tells us we need to come back and pick him up. He was barking too much and they were afraid he was going to hurt himself. What!?! He is a 3 yr old golden doodle who is as sweet as the day is long. He needed a little attention and their solution was to leave him in his kennel to bark until he literally made himself sick to his stomach. Next, they called our vet before they called us and tried to pawn him off on them. When that didn't work they called us. Net result we had to turn the car around (fully loaded AFTER DRIVING AN HOUR AND A HALF) and find an emergency place (the Friday afternoon before Spring Break) which lost us a day of vacation and the expense and time that goes along with it. Amazingly-just like we tried telling them when they called us- with a little attention he stopped barking. By the time we made it to pick him up he was fine-no barking etc. Come to find out this is a regular occurrence with this place. Who knows what happens when pets are left there but we are staying far away. read more

CMC is a fantastic boarding and training facility. Dogs are well cared for by kind professionals. I have worked with them since Feb 2013, selecting Susan because I had no idea how to train a dog. Since then, my lab and I have successfully competed in AKC trials, earning his CD and TD titles. Since we attend weekly group class, I have watched many dogs come through the training facility. This staff believes in every dog and knows how to help the owners and dogs to be successful at whatever level they aspire. I also have to say, I've seen the staff work with boarded dogs while I am at the facility for training, and they really do love your dogs while you're away!!! read more

I researched various training schools and boarding facilities in the DFW Metroplex. I have owned 8 dogs which were mostly rescue. I find it interesting that 4 of the reviews not recommended are complimentary. I recently adopted a female 1 year german shepherd who's owner, who lived in an apartment, could no provide care. Bella was placed at CMC for training for a month and I was completely satisfied with her training. I am now able to walk her and she knows her commands. I have boarded Bella one other time there and she was treated well and showed no anxiety when I left her or picked her up. CMC even asked me to leave an old t shirt to make her feel more comfortable. Your dog will be treated well there. read more

I am so disappointed in myself for trusting these people to train our dog. I really thought I had vetted this place well. I was so very wrong and it cost me dearly in the treatment of my dog and monetarily. It cost me a month's paycheck and the dog came back with no new skills. For fear of retribution, we'll call our dog Fido. Fido could already sit, stay, down, come, and sat at doors from our training at home. Fido needed help doing this with distractions, heeling, and socialization. There was no work with distractions and socialization as promised. At the end of training, Fido heeled in their arena with the trainer with some success, but with down turned ears, fearful behavior, and not nearly as crisp as I would expect for the length of time the training lasted. Fido had to have a pinch, prong collar placed on Fido to heel in the arena with me. It was strongly recommended to me to buy one for training at home. I have the printout with the trainers handwriting added for which collar to buy. It was also disclosed that they used both a prong and chain choke collar on Fido. I was told only positive reinforcement like treats and praise would be used both in emails and when I dropped Fido off. I am utter sick to my stomach thinking about Fido being trained out of fear of pain. It is NOT what I signed up for! I was then told I would have to work with Fido at home to get the same results as the trainer was getting. I've had other dogs professionally trained with no skills going in. Those dogs were able to follow commands for everyone in our family including a toddler both at the training facility and immediately leaving. Fido couldn't even heal walking to the car to go home. There are about a dozen other minor discrepancies between what they said and what I saw. The top three are: 1)"That's the first time we hear Fido bark." (while I was working with Fido in the arena) Knowing my dog, I seriously doubt Fido never barked in 3+ weeks. 2)"I don't know why [Fido's] shedding like that." Upon seeing me and running to me, Fido released a considerable amount of hair and dandruff indicative of when Fido is stressed. Fido also was not bathed. Every other boarding and/or training facility I've dealt with baths the dogs right before pick up. For Fido to have that kind of reaction to seeing me, tells me Fido was under duress. 3)They said to only use cheese sticks for training. I only had Fido's favorite training treats when we got home. Fido quickly returned to happy posture and responding to praise and treats. But when I finally made it to the grocery store to get cheese sticks three days later, Fido showed fear again when I brought them out. For the first time in Fido's life, I saw this dog refuse treats and to engage in eye contact. Fido sat dutifully, but with a lowered hear looking up from a slight cowering position. My heart was broken at that point that I realized what Fido had endured in my absence. Bottom line: I feel I paid a whole lot of money for my dog to not be trained but exposed to punishing types of correction. read more
