One of the staff, a lady with brown hair, female young scrawny street we had us to get a better visual of a reptile hiding. It was hiding behind a bush and we cannot see it and she said she could not do it if this is true other PetSmart have done this before they have moved stuff so we could see the reptiles and also took them out of the cages and put them into a separate container so we can see them. My sister also saw that the fish were sick and she tried to report it to the lady and she said she knew and she didn't care. This lady had no pride for her job no care for customer service read more

I haven't been to this PetSmart location for a while; we dropped by the store to pick up a bag of dog food but was greeted by a bin full if squeaky plush on sale for $5 each. The toys were too cute to pass up, so we bought a couple, wandered around the store, grabbed the bag of food and headed to the checkout. The store wasn't busy at all, everything was still fairly organized and clean. The lady at the first check stand was very professional and courteous, our transaction was brief and efficient; overall, it was a good visit. read more

PetSmart always has what I need and are consistently having sales. They have a huge variety to choose from and have a great policy that if your pet doesn't like a food you choose you can bring it back for a full refund. This has made shopping for new things for my dog to eat really great bc if she doesn't like it we can come back and try again... what a wonderful perk, also they have a rewards app to build points towards money off. Pretty good luck getting my dog groomed at this location. Been going here now for the last year as it was very difficult to get in to see the groomer at my regular spot. Here, I can generally get him in any time, even last minute although I don't normally get the same groomer. No problem since they keep my records in my file on how I want the dog cut. He always seems to come out just a bit different each time but I am glad I am not cutting him. Tried it a few times and it took me hours with my husband keeping him still. And the clippers always had a problem getting through his fine silky hair. Another thing is that he does not seem to mind going here. The spot I had been using, he would cower by the door. I think it was because some dogs there roam free, even big ones. The set up here is different even though I have never been in the back room. This last time I brought him in, it took about 4 hours. I was in there at the 3 hour mark and he had not been cut yet. They had several groomers that are no longer there so I am sure they were short handed. I like that they show you a board with different sized cuts so you can pick how short to go. Just a bit longer in winter so he does not freeze on our two walks a day. Over-all they been pretty good. Will update after a few more cuts. read more

I don't shop in store very often anymore. I purchase everything for my pets through a different online retailer. When my vet called and told me I needed to switch one of my pets to canned food for a month due to some health issues, I wanted to start immediately. I went online at PetSmart, selected cans of canned cat food, and chose store pick up for the same day. Prices were reasonable and they had a selection that met my needs. A few hours later, email was received saying items were ready. I could download an app for curbside or just go into the store. After work I headed over. Walked inside and missed the giant sigh/banner that says "pick up" with a button. I got in line. When I got to the register I offered my order number and the cashier asked for my last name instead. She went over to the online order area and searched and searched. She then came back and asked my first name. She said "multiple orders had the same last name." I'm in my mid-40s and my entire life I've met one other person with my very unique last name. I told her my first name and the contents of the order and she went back over to the online order area. During her search a customer walked in and walked straight over to the area. She spoke to the cashier who then checked her ID and then got her order from the same area. The other customer walked away and she went back to looking for mine. She came back with mine after some searching and asked for ID. I asked why they got helped first and she just shrugged. I said "Should I go over there when I arrive?" She then pointed out the large sign I missed when I came in. My fault, not hers, and said to "push the button." I admit my error but once you were engaged in trying to complete order, you should not have stopped to help someone else who didn't follow the rules. At least I stood in line and waited my turn. I will not use this store unless I need something urgent. Other than that I remain a loyal customer of the popular online alternative. read more

Love the grooming service. I asked for the first available opening they had and it was only a few days out. Our 70 lb labradoodle pup, had deep mats, stickers and burrs in her hair from her darting out the door, running around in the sage and other sticky bushes. They did a fantastic job of cleaning her up, she had to have a short cut but it was worth it. She was happy and obviously well cared for when I picked her up 3 hrs later. They had plenty of groomers on staff and they called me when she was ready to pick up. Because it's winter and she now has very short hair I bought her a cute fleece on the inside and reflective on the outside jacket. There were lots of choices and sizes. I bought her a large. Store is amazing as always but every time I go the younger women is always very rude. She has told me "can i scan that too" to the harness my cat came in with, and when I explained that i bought it prior since Im a member and she responded with "well I didn't see you come in with it" okay. She always talks to me in stern tone after being bubbly with others. She also has charged me full price for sale items but I will ask someone else to help later. read more

First- PetSmart website does not allow you to schedule appointments for nail trimming, it states that it is strictly a walk-in service, any time the grooming salon is open. I walked in and the employee told me that nobody had time to do it that day or the following day. I asked if I could please just schedule an Appointment for this because it is difficult for me to get my 100 lb anxious lab in and out of pet stores. She rudely stated that she could "squeeze me in" 4 days later. 2nd- The employees in the office have terrible customer service and are not fit to work somewhere with animals. I walked in for my appointment with my energetic hyper lab, there was an employee walking towards us, holding another dog on a leash. My dog gets really excited when he sees other dogs, he started wagging his tail and pulling on his leash towards the dog. The employee stopped, and with a disgusted and annoyed look on her face said "can you get your dog away please?" Mind you, there was a gate separating our dogs, so there really was no reason for her to respond in this manner, and for someone who works at a DOG grooming salon, she should be a little nicer to our fur babies. My dog is my world and I also get anxious bringing him to grooming salons and when employees are mean to my dog it makes me never want to bring him anywhere. As I was waiting to be checked in I overheard 2 employees talking about a dog that was in the back barking. 1 of the employees told the other one "OH MY GOD that dog barks SO MUCH! That's why I stuck him in the back!!" And the other employee started laughing. If you don't like dogs barking maybe you shouldn't work at a dog grooming salon. Dogs get anxious and scared being at places like this it is normal for them to bark. I don't feel comfortable or safe bringing my dog back here ever again. I do not recommend bringing your fur babies here if you care about your animal at all. OH and my dogs nails are all different lengths, they did not trim his dew claws AT ALL, I paid extra for them to buff his nails and it is very obvious they did not do so. read more

We go to the groomers at PetSmart once a month for our Neyfypoo whether it be for a haircut or bath and brush. They do a great job with her and she looks great after a fresh cut. She likes the staff and they always say she does very well. She's usually cautious with new people but she warmed up to them quickly. read more

It was really upsetting when everything we'd been told previously about aquariums and fish-keeping actually ending up being the cause of our fish not lasting through the night. I really really appreciate the accommodations, understanding, and help of the staff here. They made this entirely upsetting situation a lot easier on us. The free water testing shed a huge light on what went wrong for our fish. And the replacing of the fish who we lost was absolutely so kind and generous. Will be coming here from now on!!!! read more

Typically my partner and I are regulars here and normally have a pleasant experience at this store, however, after today's interaction with a cashier, we aren't sure if we'll be returning... The heavier-set employee who wears a mask and rainbow-colored glasses was ringing up our items and randomly pointed out a healing blemish on my face. She called it a "zit that looks like a shiner under my eye" and proceeded to ring up our items and talk about nonsense the rest of the interaction. I hope she receives proper training on customer service and how to interact with customers because that behavior was unbelievable. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name because her nasty comment caught me extremely off guard. The customer behind us in line heard the comment too and her eyes shot open in disbelief. The whole experience just felt very unnecessary and I didn't want to let her get away with being rude for no reason. read more

Went to PetSmart tonight after work. We have religiously purchased their food here the last two years. Today I get home and dump their food in their food bin, only to see there were maggots, moths, and their webs all over. I was pretty disgusted. But my dogs needed to eat, and had no food left, so I went back (carrying the bag up 3 floors, now having to take their whole food bin down 3 floors). I drive 15min back to the store, I show them what happened and they told me I can go grab a new bag. So I walked to the back of the store where they keep it and walked back to the front where they did an even exchange. The checker apologized which was nice, but after having to go this far out of my way for them selling an expired product I would think there would be some form of refund, or reimbursement. I will be choosing another store to get their food from. read more

I ordered the full bath and haircut service with advanced package for my dog but the groomer didn't even clean and shave my puppy's face!Also the haircut was terrible! I had to fix it by myself. Took both our fur babies to the groomers this last Sunday. They both had a groomer DeAsia and she did an awesome job on both our babies. Bear (Shepard) had very shiny coat afterwards and Buddy (Maltese) was so fluffy that he felt like a fur coat himself. Both dogs were so handsome and so clean. We just moved from Elk Grove, CA. with our 3 dogs. We have been using Petsmart for the last 5 years, and decided to stay since all of our dog info was in the system. Booked the appts. and took them in on Sunday. Unfortunately, did have to pay the higher price for the weekends, not sure why since we are getting the same service as during the week, but whatever. The staff was friendly and prompt. The dogs look great! Have to take away a star, because after we were home we realized one of the dogs didn't have their collar and leash. Called back to make sure they had it and drive all the way back to pick it up. Also used to get some kind of discounts on receipts or thru email, but some reason no more. Kind of expensive $150 for 3 dogs, and no multiple discounts. A plus-they did email us a picture of our dog on a magazine! Wish they would of sent the other 2 pics of dogs. read more

Gotta give it up for the helpful staff at PetSmart. I came home to a minor FISHmergency today and went into a mild state of panic. See the pump on my little saltwater reef tank had suddenly stopped. No water was circulating, and therefore the oxygen in the water was slowly being depleted, and well, we all know what happens when animals don't have oxygen. Death. So after checking with the specialty shops and PetSmart for a replacement pump, I found there were none available. So I ran to PetSmart to grab an air pump and airstone to provide oxygen while I wait for a new pump to arrive. The staff at PetSmart helped me find all the right stuff, real quick so I could get home in time to save the fish and before my 7 month old melted down, which is appreciated more than they know! This was OK for a Petsmart. But I guess I was just expecting more from Petsmart, in general. I drove from Tahoe to go to a "bigger store with more selection" and somehow ended up finding less items than I do at the tiny stores in Tahoe. Of course Petsmart has all of the strange patriotism based toys and those are currently on sale so that was a plus. But you can't count on that all the time. So my review cannot be only be about that selection. Overall, a clean nice Petsmart. But still a Petsmart. read more

I bet that you did not know that you can rent carpet cleaners for $30 a day at Petsmart. I didn't until today and it has worked like a champ on my carpet at home. The carpet cleaner is called "Pawstively Clean" and is a Bissell Big Green Cleaning Machine. Works like a champ. I also picked up cat food and cat litter while I was there. Love to pop in and see the critters they have for sale. People working there are friendly. Petsmart has their pet perks deals. I like it and learned something new today. And I like my newly cleaned carpet! read more

Been a customer of grooming salon on Mae Anne Ave for years. Have had same groomer each time, who we requested and have been happy with. Now have a goldendoodle, one year old. We have been out of town for awhile and couldn't get her in for a shampoo and haircut for couple of months. Usually, the bill is $90 + nice tip. Our dog was spayed 2 weeks ago and vet said to give it 2 weeks before shampoo. We did this. Wounds all completely closed and looked fine. I was advised they couldn't shampoo and trim her because stitches had to be removed. I advised them that the stitches were subcuticular; ie, they are "under" the surface and dissolve on their own (I'm in healthcare). They told me it was company policy; the stitches had to be removed. I told them this was not possible and not at all necessary. They had the salon manager come out and look at my dogs abdomen and she said, "fine. we'll do it." Picked her up several hours later and the bill went from ~$90 to $120! I don't know, but that sounds outrageous to me. Our regular groomer didn't seem happy with me (the long time customer) either. I know we all have bad days, but this seems way out of line to me. A jump of $30 and some attitude thrown in? Maybe they didn't like that I was trying to explain stitches, to them, and that my dog was fine for a shampoo. (I know what i'm talking about.) Bottom line: We won't go back, whether they were having a bad day or not. We don't need or deserve that and neither does our dog. Hope the readers, here, have a better experience. read more

The betas at this location are dead, their bodies are decaying and the waters are yellow yet no one is doing anything about it. The ones that are alive look like they haven't eaten in days and don't move at all. Extremely heartbreaking to see these fish being treated in such cruel ways. The store can't even provide them with basic needs. read more

I come here all the time for my dogs food, toys and Misc items. It seems like it's really the only place to go now a days. Nothing spectacular about it. I think I could be a bit cleaner.... but that's just my weird germ issues kicking in, lol! The staff here is sometimes helpful and sometimes not. It's consistent with its products.... but inconsistent with staff help and with lots of turnover. We never seem to see the same person to make that local connection ... ya know. I'm not real comfortable bringing my dogs inside anymore because the owners of the animals they DO let in... don't take responsibility for peeing or pooping in the floor and or behavior issues. I will be looking to try and have these items I usually get mailed to me instead of going in.... read more

The trainers here are wonderful, I've been through other PetSmart courses, but this location in particular knows what they're doing. I was planning on Only doing the beginner class, but ended up going through all of them because my dog had improved so much from the first one. I feel my puppy had a very solid learning foundation thanks to this place, and I love how you stay with your dog and learn better habits and socializing. The prices are very competitive compared to the other local spots and they always have deals for their regular clients. I'm going to recommend them to other owners 10/10 times for their flexibility, always being available, and for being knowledgeable and experienced. This review is long overdue for the groomers here. I used to bring my dog here regularly and they were great with her. She always looked so good afterwards too. The de-shedding for our furry friends really works and she always needs it but especially after the winter. I liked that I could get in pretty quickly (except around the holidays they are busy!). You don't necessarily get the same groomer every visit but my dog always liked whoever she had. I would recommend this groomers for a friends dog. I also recommend Greenies if you have to give your dog pills - regularly or just on occasion- they make it a treat for them, which is a treat, instead a struggle, for their human. My dog is still with us but too old to take the car trip so she gets her grooming at home now - as they say 'it's a dogs life'! read more

Walked in the store and found what I was looking for. Took my item to the counter. All was fine until the cashier attempted to ask me if I would sign up for their rewards program. I declined , and thought nothing of it. Then out of the blue the other staff member interrupts, from off behind me, in a rude, insulting, and accusatory tone, " you cannot get the discount on that unless you have the rewards," is what she said. Hello, lady, I am not here to have an argument with you about whether or not I want to sign up for your rewards program. I do not shop there often enough. Plus, I already declined them. Do not interrupt me with your rude, accusatory tone lady. It was obvious she was accusing me, because she had seen other people bring items to the cashier, believing they were on sale. Anyways, she was assuming I thought I was going to get the sale price on the shelf. I already knew my item was not on sale lady, but thanks anyways. I immediately rebuffed her, and told her, " actually the item I have does not have a sale price, but thanks anyway ." Which made me feel a bit like I was having to correct this person. It was really the general attitude, body language, and the general impolite nature of how she said what she said that offended me. It was not customer service, in a polite way. It was some other version of attacking a person, blindsiding, in a bitter and hostile tone. Again, inappropriate, and offensive. Not a cheap item either, at 100 dollars. So, I suggest you retrain the team there, and teach them basic manors. read more

This is a big box store. The only reason I go in here is to keep my husband company while he buys food and paraphernalia for the aging golden that lives with us. He continues to go here because the stuff he needs is cheaper here than at the grocery and it is convenient because it is next door to Total Wine. Why three stars you ask? Well, it is OK, nothing special nothing terrible. Staff are indifferent but not unfriendly. They also don't really go out of their way to help you either. The items in the store are reasonably laid out in a semi-logical fashion by species (dog, cat, reptile) and seem to pretty much have just about anything you would want for your pet and quite a few things you didn't know you wanted for your pet. (ooooo, a jeweled doggie sweater with matching tiara) The only animals they sell are in the reptile, bird, fish and rodent variety. I don't want to know if the lizards have been raised in "newt mills". The Humane Society is there on weekends with the cute puppies and kittens ready for adoption. We have used their pet grooming services for above mentioned elderly golden. They did a very nice job and he came home all clean an fluffy and not in the least traumatized by the experience - almost enough to bump the rating up a star. The main downside is trying to get an appointment. They are really busy, which I guess is a good sign. read more

I took my 10 month olds toy poodle to petsmart groomers. I came in on a Monday and was considered as a "walk in". When I came in to make the appointment the girl that was helping me seemed extremely busy she was short with me and came off a bit annoyed by my presence. She started helping me and in the middle of making my appointment she said she was going to have someone else help me because she had to help someone else that had been waiting. Which is no big deal. I was previously waiting already since they had one client at a time due to covid. So I would have waiting if need be. She had a girl help me that was the washer and she ended up finishing my appointment. Mind you just to make the appointment it took a good half hour just to finish the ap The next day I go at 8am to the appointment a really nice girl that was the groomer was there and she reminded me that it was not a regular grooming appointment and that they can trim his face and hair on his paws ( in between his little paws ) As well as cut his nails and I said yes that's fine. I then showed her some spots on my dogs ears that had knots and I asked her to comb them out or cut off the knots. She said yes then she tells me that it will be 15 to 20 mins. Which in my mind I was thinking Wow that is really fast but chalked it up to them seeing so many dogs a day and just being able to work fast. I left and got a call that my dog was done and ready to pick up. I walk in a see a dog being held by the nice groomer girl that was the same color as my dog but looked like a different bread. These people cut off my dogs brown ears!! He had short uneven buzz cut ears!!! He looked like he had no ears. And they didn't even trim his face so he looked like he was earless. I was in shock. I didn't really know what to say or do. She let me know what she did but the only thing I saw different were that he had no freakin ears! So she hands the invoice with the amount for the buzz cut to my puppies ears and tells me that o can pay up front. So I take it still in shock. Staring at my beloved toy poodle and just in complete shock I start telling myself maybe she had to cut his ears cuz he had knots but then I felt like why would you not just cut the knots and why the bad buzz cut. I then look at his paws and he still had fur in between his paws and did I mention he didn't get a bath. I took him back and asked her if they can trim the paws more because it didn't look like he got it done. She told me she did and that they have to trim with a certain size of clipper and then said she would try again she takes my dog then starts trying and my puppy started acting up so I just stopped her said it was fine then left. Im upset because his cut looks bad. I don't know if it was miscommunication. I just wish that if they didn't have time or didn't know what I wanted that they just wouldn't take me or make me an appointment. I don't understand why she decided to buzz the ears that short. read more

I had my doubts about taking our pupper in to get groomed after reading a lot of the reviews on here, but I am very pleasantly surprised! Gandalf has problems with people touching his feet so I was worried that he may come home with cuts and a horrible choppy haircut, but he looks just like an adorable little teddybear :) Lindy did an amazing job and even left us a nice little note about how good he was. All of the girls were very nice. We will definitely be back. read more
