Never again will I be taking my dogs here for grooming. I love Petsmart but their groomers need a lot more training and they should have a manager review their work and be supervised while they groom dogs. My bichon has been getting groomed for the past 13 1/2 years at a salon on the west side with no issues ever. After we moved on the side of town and only after going to Petsmart did she get a ear infection because the groomer pushed the hair in her ears instead of pulling the hair out. I took her in to get checked at Midwestern University and they said they haven't seen a knowledgeable groomer do that before. read more

I enrolled my puppy in training class with Jesse and it was best thing I have done for the new edition to our family. He has taught our puppy basic behavior commands and we are so enjoying our well trained puppy. He listened to our issues and worked hard to teach us how to correct them. His training class has made having a puppy a much more enjoyable experience and is fun for our whole family !!! read more

By far the worst Petsmart I have ever gone to. Rude employees, lack of knowledge on everything, and just miserable to be in there! Small animals and reptiles are not kept properly. Tanks are kept at too low/high of temperatures. Cages are disgusting and too small for so many small animals to be in one. Fish tanks are dirty, and lack of care for the fish. Took my dog in for grooming and they just tossed him around like nothing. I highly recommend to go somewhere else. I love Petsmart and they have everything I need and more, but this location? No thank you. read more

Pam in grooming was a pleasure. She's clearly invested in the animals she works with, and has a real love for them. She treated my dogs the way I would. Their grooming is great, the girls don't seem stressed, and she even took cute little pictures of them. I appreciated her dedication. She's a real gem. Keep her! read more

Great selection and prices, and the staff is so nice. Last time I was in shopping Chad helped me and he was so kind and helpful because he has cats too, he really knew what he was talking about. It's great that they really have pet lovers working there. And he carried my huge cat tree, which I got on sale, out to my car and loaded it for me even though it was 110°! read more

Horrible experience! I took my dog for nail trim and the groomer did a horrible job. She chipped off my dogs nerve and he is bleeding. Why the hell on earth Petsmart employs groomers who aren't professionally trained. My dog is hurt and scared. I will never recommend Petsmart to anyone who love there pets. read more

Well, PetSmart doesn't have to worry about me shopping there ever again from now on. Here's the story in a nutshell: I was bringing some Hill's Science Diet canned cat food back, because my cats just don't like the taste. I go in at 11:30 am today 2/12/15, they call the Manager--some 5'11" (guessing at his height), young guy (30's) who hasn't shaved his bushy beard or cut his hair in 6 months, fat in a slobby way white guy comes over. He looks like he is unkempt, and I am frankly surprised PetSmart puts someone like that in a position as Manager...but I don't work there nor own any of their stock so could care less. I just want a return credit. Anyway, Mr. Manager asks me if I bought it all at one time. OK...here is where the story just gets stupid, cause the cans are all the same, in the original 24 pack box all wrapped with the plastic they put around it opened only on the top to allow getting about 1-1/2 cans out (if you can imagine how big that hole is). Taken aback I said to him tongue in cheek (cause it was getting humorous to me at this point), "Uh...isn't that indicative?" while pointing to the boxed canned kinda smiling (I mean, it was obvious to me that only the plastic at the top had broken into that flat of canned cat food). Upon which his response to me was, "Well, you don't have to be rude, and if you want me to take these back you better be a little nicer to me." You know, I am older and have been in many situations taking things back when it was absolutely necessary, and not once has anyone ever responded like that that I ever remember. Is he touchy? Or is he just a smartass fat guy who thinks he has a little power now? Or is he just burnt out on working there? Who knows? Anyway, I told him to just give me my things back and I would donate it..and walked out....never to return to PetSmart again. What can I say other than I felt he has alot to learn and was ridiculous in his actions and certainly nobody I ever want to deal with again. Maybe if Mr. Manager got a new haircut and a shave he would be in a more friendly customer service mood...ya think? UPDATE: After multiple emails to PetSmart Customer Service Department where their "great" idea was for me to call the store and voice my experience to the Manager...really? This could be the guy who was such a jackass, so why do I want to talk to him again? Customer Service headquarters doesn't read your emails or has no brains and caring for their customers, which doubly makes me glad I am not going there ever again. Bye, bye, PetSmart! Your service sucks bigtime! read more

Abby did an amazing job with Mocha! She listened to what we were looking for and also supplied suggestions that we used. She's our new groomer! read more

Ive had my Corgi groomed here several times. Unfortunately this will be the last. It's not because of her cut or anything. It's because the customer service and the customers themselves. My dog was excited to be at the groomer today. As I stood there waiting to be checked in she barked, excited to see all the other dogs. She is not aggressive, nor could it have been misinterpreted in that way. I calmed her but I needed to pay attention to checking her in. Another customer came in and started harassing me about my dog barking because her dog was timid (I think she just wanted something to complain about because her dog didn't seem too bad). She continued complaining and I had had enough. All the while the groomers made it an uncomfortably long interaction because of the slow pace. Also, one of the groomers (the lady seemed to know her) injected herself in the back and forth, which made it even more uncomfortable. All in all I would probably choose a different location, or get a personal groomer. I didn't get the cut I wanted because there was a lady squawking at me and had to wait an extra 10 minutes after I picked her up to have her done the way I'd intended. read more

Horrible service, rude employees, prices weren't even close to even PetSmart online prices. Example, 5 customers stood by the fish for 15 minutes while several employees tried desperately to avoid eye contact and rush away. A man finally lost his patience and went to an office where 3 people were hanging out. Natalie walked out of the back room with her friend and looked at a frustrated woman saying "you need crickets or something?" The woman indicated I had been waiting for some time. Natalie then looked at me and my 4-year-old and said "what do you need?" My son wanted to pick out a couple fish. She turned her back and never said another word. She handed me a bag of fish without any courtesy. The cashier Madison wasn't much better for pleasant. She had clearly avoided the congregation at the fish tanks as well. And again, no "thank you" no "have a good day" nothing. Also, fish food, water treatment and decoration were literally 8$ more in this store than any other store, even other PetSmart locations. Really, I looked online and made this PetSmart price match their own store. read more

Love Pet Smart!!! Tori is the best!! Our dogs Louie & Jax love her!! Her cuts are perfect every single time!!

We have been using the Pet Hotel for years and it's time I wrote a review. This is the only place we board our dog when in the Peoria area. Miss Babette, our Frenchie, loves this place; especially, doggie day camp! As soon as we pull into the parking lot, she knows where she is and pulls us to the store's door. The staff has never been anything but helpful, friendly, and kind to us and Babette. Wherever we go, we feel she is in good hands and will be well cared for during her stay. It's not easy leaving a loved pet behind....but it sure helps when you can leave one and have PEACE OF MIND!!! Thank you Pet Hotel staff. You do a great job and should be recognized for it. Keep up the good work! Miss Babette's Mom read more

Made an appointment almost 2 weeks ago. The dogs needed their shots renewed so I called to make sure the timing was not an issue, told it wasn't so I took the two in last Thursday. When they looked at the shot records they said they needed to wait 48 hours after the shots, which I am glad they told me. We scheduled the appointment for 7:00 am in Monday (today). When I arrived the appointments for the two Golden Retrievers had been erased. I needed an express service, they were unable to accommodate since I had been erased. They were able to offer services if I wanted to leave the dogs for 4 or 5 hours. Not impressed, not going back. I realize its probably a comedy of errors but just not interested. There have got to be better businesses with less headache. Update: When the manager called regarding the bad service she told me the person who erased my appointment remembered a lady calling yesterday and canceling. When I said that was not possible she mentioned that perhaps she erased the wrong name. Any excuse in the book. What a joke! read more

Drove in for the weekend to spend time with the family. We had our fur baby with us who was long overdue for a bath. Dropped him off and Christina was his groomer; she did a magnificent job. Thank you Christina for a wonderful job. Our little furry one was clean and fluffy. Everyone was friendly and greeted me as I walked in. Will come back the next time we're in town of the furry one needs a bath. read more

UGH! This location NEVER has crickets!!! This location needs a new supplier or something because I have come here countless times and 90% of the time they have nothing! WASTE OF TIME! read more

Wow, can you say customer service. Everytime I come here they are asking me if they can help and offering great cost effective solutions instead of just offering a pricey solution. The place is super clean and offer many services. I am a fan now for sure, and this location is so close to home. Good think because we just got a new pup. read more

After a terrible haircut my dog received a few weeks ago I was nervous to take her to another new person. I called petsmart this afternoon to see if by any chance they had a cancellation and our luck they did. We were so fortunate to finally find someone that gives beautiful haircuts. It was night and day from the last time. Jennifer W did such a good job and was so patient with me trying to explain what I want. We rescheduled and will be back to see her next month. Brought my 41/2 month old Goldendoodle in for bath with specific instruction to cut a few hairs around his eyes. Tori his groomer used clipper and shaved his face and top of head. Dog looks totally different, almost like he is old, since he still has puppy coat with shaved face. We were told it will grow out. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

Pet Smart, is the best!!!! Groomer Karna is so special and my Punky Albertini loves her, shevis very gentle and loving to my baby boy!!!! Punky also gies to Dr there at Banfield they are Suberb! Lake Pleasant Pet Smart!!!! read more

Karna is so good with our dog! Patient and kind! We've seen her for quite a while, and would definitely refer to her!

I wouldn't normally write a review on a box store like PetSmart, but after visiting the Lake Pleasant location today,we left there receiving exceptional service. We dropped a few hundred dollars there today, but saved about $90 after Chad reminded us to price match our items. He took time with us and explained our options while we were buying electric trimmers for our dog. He took me to the groomers to inquire as to the best trimmers for our dog type. He represented PetSmart well today. read more

Just bought kitten food and dealt with the rudest cashier yet. Lady in front of us pushed her cart through and accidentally knocked down a big dog gate in a box. The box was sticking out from the end of the stand so it caught her cart. Colleen, the cashier, put her hand on her hip and watched the lady struggle to pick it up. Lady asked Colleen if she wanted it put somewhere else. Colleen replied " no I'll move it later". She proceeded to ring us up. Got my phone number for my rewards card but never verified if it was me. Was hostile on the register. Never once smiled. What a disgrace to PetSmart and our community. She needs off the customer service line! I'll wait in a long line before I ever go to her again. read more

We use the pets hotel at Petsmart every few months to board our dog when we go out of town and we could not be happier. They are very caring and always do a great job with our dog. I would recommend boarding any dog here because they treat our pup like family whenever she comes in! read more

The store has a lot of selection and very pet friendly, obviously. I always take our poodle there for grooming. But when you check out, you are put through the ringer to provide your phone number, name, address, etc. When you have your dog on a leash and they are pulling on the leash, and you are simply trying to get out of there, you don't need any extra frustration. Each time I've been there, no matter if it is obvious that I am in a hurry, they pressure me for this information saying, it will be quick. In addition, although I like the way they groom our poodle, the groomers don't seem to happy at their job. read more

I'd like to start this review by saying I had been a fan of PetSmart for 2 decades - I worked for SSG (corporate) almost 20 years ago. That support ended recently when I brought my 4 1/2 mo. Old puppy to receive his first "Puppy Bath". Dropping him off went fairly smooth, but picking him up was very chaotic. I will say it was a Saturday afternoon, so it was understandably busy. That aside, I paid in advance at the register then went to get him from the groomer's office inside PetSmart. As it was so busy I was getting stepped on by humans and dogs alike, I whisked my boy straight out and into the car to leave. I live less than a mile away so waited to inspect the results of the "bath" and nail grinding (which I paid extra for) for when I got home. I was horrified to see my puppy's nose had been nicked/sliced in two places. Deep enough it must have bleed, and bled a lot. I was at a loss that not one word was mentioned to me upon pick up or even a phone call while he was in their care. It has been 2 months and the gauges are still in his little black nose. He is PERMANENTLY SCARRED. I HATE PetSmart. They have disfigured his poor little face. You can't look at him without noticing it. They will NEVER get their hands on him or ANY pet I have. Really too bad. Please BEWARE. I know accidents happen, but they should have IMMEDIATELY let me know. read more

Very helpful. I come here to buy crickets on a weekly basis and the staff recognizes me right away and knows just what I get. They even show me the new crested geckos they recently got in because they know thats what I have. I really appreciate all their help. read more

Grooming department is great letti does a great job I've referred her to a lot of people .The workers in the store are super friendly

After years of outstanding service by the PetSmart employees at the Lake Pleasant location for our many needs of birds/small animals/pets hotel/dog specialists, I am so disgusted by the unfortunate treatment both my daughter and I experienced from two associates in the fish dept, namely "Jen" and "Charlotte". Both of which assisted us with our large fish purchase for multiple large tanks and the more they worked together the worse their behavior got. The were constantly questioning, badgering and displaying their displeasure in doing their jobs. During the grueling 1/2 hour of bagging up 10 fish along with snide comments to one another(oh I hate that fish..why are you buying that? Oh is he dead already) making judgmental statements and ignorant comments directly to us is unacceptable to the point of making my 13 year old daughter feel very uncomfortable. Please address this and hire people that know how to work in retail, love their jobs and give the employees the hours that appreciate their jobs. 2 of the young men have always been helpful and upbeat. read more

I have a Miniature Schnauzer who normally is groomed by Billie. This time I had my dog groomed by Jen because Billie was booked. My husband told Jen that he wanted our dog shaved but the beard left alone! I go to pick up my dog after he's all done and the beard is GONE!! My husband called management about it and she said there was a miscommunication since they were so busy today. Busy or not, you didn't fully do your job because part of your job is communicating WITH your co-workers. We did get a refund back for the grooming but now we're thinking of going somewhere else, in fear of this happening again. Our schnauzer is almost 4 years old and he's NEVER had his beard trimmed or cut and now it's gone. read more

Will NEVER return for grooming or EVER recommend! I have 4 dogs, I have given multiple attempts at getting them groomed here, I show up each time and get every excuse possible why they can't accept my dog for our appointment. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my dogs with petsmart anyway, I've witnessed numerous times the ladies being rough with the dogs or scolding them inappropriately. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! read more

We go to Petsmart usually to pick up feeder fish for our Oscar, every once in awhile we may get a new fish if we find one there that is big enough or compatible in our tank. There have been two occasions at the Lake Pleasant Store, where i have had to help the girl working the fish tanks. Once, while buying feeder fish, the girl had a large hole in her net, resulting in a net full of goldfish spilling out all over the table, which she didnt even notice until i pointed it out to her. Embarrassing. Then tonight, we picked up a pictus catfish for our tank (we have another one in our tank already), these catfish have sharp fins which get stuck in nets and the net she used to net this fish, inevitably got stuck on BOTH it's fins. She held this fish outside of the water for several minutes trying to pry the net off before i told her to lower the fish in the water and assisted her in trying to CAREFULLY get the net off of the fish's fins. She then pulled out a BOX CUTTER in an attempt to cut the net. She then left and returned with scissors, to which i walked away. I returned to her bagging the fish with cut pieces of net still attached to the fish. We now have the fish in a small bowl and are using tweezers to try to remove the net from its fins. We like this location because of it's selection, but if we ever get another fish from this location, we will ask for someone else to assist us. read more

I bought three tetra and one Molly about two days ago for my ten gallon tank that I've had for about a month now. I have one gourami and two guppies in the tank and they've done terrific so I know there isn't a problem with the water. I acclimated them correctly and added water slowly to their bags to avoid shock. After about a day they seemed great and had no problems with the other fish. Today I came to my tank to see all three new fish half dead / dead. I'm extremely frustrated and will definitely not be buying fish from a pet smart or Petco ever again. I'm afraid they have now gotten my gourami and guppies sick. I have spent a numerous amount of money on my tank and my fish because I love the hobby so much but now I have three dead fish and possibly six total. read more

I have a morkie puppy and she is very nice not aggressive and she always looks nice when she is all done but the problem is the groomers they are rude and never nice. One lady I heard say that my dog needed to be under sedation. I don't appreciate hearing that from the groomers and even when I take my other dogs there they are just plan rude. Dogs get stressed when they go to the groomers its the groomers job to groom the dogs not make rude remarks. read more

I just took my two dogs to this pet hotel for the first time as I've just relocated to this area. The older dog is usually skittish about places for the first time and then becomes accustomed to it. This morning, she got loose as the collar was not tight enough (which is a fault of my own) and made a bee line to the front door and went out to the parking lot looking for my car. I was quickly able to retrieve her and when I turned around after putting her collar back on, there were already 6 or 7 pet smart employees out in the parking lot to help locate my dog and I was quite impressed with their rapid response and I'm now quite confident that this will be a great place for boarding my dogs while I'm gone for a week. I've been to a number of boarding places but the customer service that I received here takes the cake!!!!! Thank you all for the rapid response to help out!!!!!!!! And I know my dogs will be in good hands while I go on my trip. read more
