I've been coming to this PetSmart since it first opened back in 2002, so it's safe to say I've been a loyal customer for over two decades! This location has always been my go to for all things pet related from food and supplies to grooming and adoption. They've also partnered for years with The Cat Network, which I think is amazing. In fact, I actually adopted one of my cat, Coco that's been with us for almost fifteen years right here so many years ago. Even though I've never written a review for this place before, I had to come back on Yelp and Google and write about the great experience I had this past Friday. I called ahead with a question, and James (aka "Jamestown," as his coworkers call him) picked up the phone. He was super friendly, informative, and clearly knew his stuff. When I got to the store, he helped us find exactly what we needed and recommended the best products for our pets and great service from start to finish. At checkout, Valentina helped us complete our purchase and even signed us up for the PetSmart Treats Rewards Program. Both she and James went above and beyond to make the visit easy and pleasant. Honestly, this store has always delivered great customer service, but it's clear their entire team is well-trained, knowledgeable, and truly cares about customers and their pets. Nicely organized and attentive staff. I love coming to pet stores to look at all the adorable animals. I skip the reptile section though cause I'm a scaredy cat. Growing up I always had hamsters. My last hamster passed almost 6 years ago and my last doggie 2 years ago. I made the decision that it was time for another furry friend. I had passed by here the week before and saw some hamsters and knew this was where I would find him. I just returned home from trying to drop off mu Shih Tzu to he groomed. When I arrived 6 minutes late do to horrendous traffic and a near accident, Marilyn told me she has another, larger dog to ve groomed at the sane time that would take quite awhile. Could I come back later ir tomorrow morning? To whic i replied I am not available. I was not happy to learn of the double booking so I asked why I was not called when it was known so I could avoid the trip. She said, " We have a lot of dogs and don't have time to call". She offered tomorrow morning again, to which I again replied I am not available. She asked for the rabies info. I showed her the letter my vet provided to me and to Miami-Dade County stating I paid for the license and tag but the rabies shot was not given to my dog due to his age and health (he is 24 and has kidney disease). Petsmart will not recognize such a letter. So, my advice to everyone is call before you leave to ensure this doesn't happen to you and don't bother them if you dog is exempt and has not received the rabies shot, even if it is housebound. read more

I got a dog cage around Oct-Nov don't know exactly the date, we had a cage the we thought there was something wrong due to the gate not working properly for. We got a new one from PetSmart also and it worked much better. I decide to look at the policy before going to make sure I was not wasting my time. When I got there my wife told me the guys say they can't due to 60 days past when it clearly says you can in theirs website. I made the line to speak to them again and this time we could not because we didn't have the box after I showed him PetSmart policy. They also said that it's because there is people buy cages from other locations and then try to get store credit there and I get that. At this point I am not being very nice and asked for the manger of course they did not seem like they wanted to help so I told him if I he could call his district manager and his manager said if he could find the receipt he could do the credit. At the end of it all they told me they could not find it I didn't get my credit and I left the stupid cage there. I would not recommend pet smart to anyone at this point chewy has the same prices and they won't give you a hard time. Felicia, a brown tabby with stunning green eyes, was not only a frequent-flyer feline AND a cross-country traveler via automobile, but she was also a regular four-legged furry customer here at this Kendall Petsmart location until her heartbreaking death in 2002. Pebbles, a pretty (as in pretty-funny-looking) tortoiseshell, was a good sport about being dragged here ... um, I mean, CHOOSING to shop here ... (Okay, being forced to please her owner!) ... until she passed away in 2010. Coco Puff, a purebred diva who is soooo incredibly sweet and gorgeous that she could instantly convert any cat hater into a cat lover, loves to come here to this Petsmart location so that she can hang out at the "kitty playground" in the back of the store. Coco Puff also enjoys being pushed around in the shopping cart, as long as she does not come into close contact with "those cats in cages waiting to be adopted." (She hates cats.) Lastly, at the checkout, Coco Puff hops onto the conveyor belt (the cashier always obligingly turns it on for her) so that she can do her catwalk on the "treadmill." Felicia, Pebbles, and Coco Puff all give this Petsmart 5 stars. (Oh, to be CLEAR ... This particular Petsmart is the one located in the shopping plaza with K-Mart to the west and El Dorado to the east.) Hi Folks, First of all I must say both me and wife are not pet nor dog people, but the real power at home (my daughter) after pushing for one since elementary school, finally got it back in March of this year; the new member of the family is somewhat big, a mixed breeding of Rottweiler/German Shepherd/Border Collie named Travis; we adopted it at the shelter. I know it is not a small dog: Weighted almost 50 pounds when brought home, now is almost at 60. Despite its size and appearance it is friendly and quiet; gets berserk if other animal gets way too close, but generally speaking easy going and not aggressive except if other animal (a cat for example) tries to sneak into our house. We do have 2 cats (also my daughter's idea) and does not get along but neither tries to attack them. I am not biased since other reviewers gave 1 star to this particular location, but with all honestly I believe people whom worked there should be at least more professional; or if they do not like their jobs quit and get someone else willing to work. Last Tuesday we had an appointment to groom Travis; when my daughter called for the setup she asked if they need info about the dog size or weight and was told was unnecessary; even she warned it is not a small dog but the employee said it was OK; shame on she didn't ask the person's name. When we get at the grooming area 10 minutes before the appointment a young, obese lady looked at us and the dog, then in a sort of rude manner asked whether we had an appointment or not (no greetings of course!); in a nearby board with the day appointments Travis name was there... Then she did something in my humble and inexperienced opinion completely stupid: She wiggled her fingers in front of dog snout and the latter tried to bite her!; I always heard should never do that in front of an unknown animal, no matter size or whether cat or dog. Showing a very high contempt, the obese girl said the groomer was on break (at same time of appointment) but needed to check since the dog was way too aggressive (???) and their policies will not allow to do any grooming on it... While we are in shock and disbelief the girl came back within one minute and with an attitude of triumphalism announced they will not groom the dog, because its behavior and then guess what: Again, she wiggled her fingers in front of Travis! Again he tried to bite but not attack more akin to get the nuisance off his face. Believe me, it took as if the girl actually provoking Travis to bite her! Very disgruntled, we replied the girl looked overjoyed and said it was the right thing to do(??) despite our obvious trouble for being denied a service were willing to pay for. Fortunately enough we were not charged, but Petsmart lost money here: We were about to buy a harness, a bag of dog food and couple of toys for Travis, and instead left to never come back; we got the stuff at Petco. I should say Travis was a little hesitant and nervous but never aggressive...My question is: Do Petsmart has any policy against big dogs? I mean if we were told so from the very beginning would never loose our time going there, even when we live in the same area...My second question: Aren't these employees trained to handle animals? Bottom line, after reading all the horrors other people suffered at this location Grooming Service, I'm glad they didn't put their hands on Travis... Love your pet and/or cat? I was there today to buy cat food. I always buy the same brand and today I saw that they were at a discounted price. From the original price of $35 they were down to $22. I grabbed one and when I went to pay it scanned as $35. Told the cashier they were discounted. He notified the manager and he went to verify the price. The manager, a short bold man named Jose Rodriguez, came back and told me the price was $35. He explained that it was a mistake and someone had moved the packs to the wrong side. I told him that was a store problem but he had to honor the price because the cat food was advertised as 22 dollars and it was no just one pack, there were at least 10 packs on the wrong side. He refused to honor the price advertised. When I asked him for the info to contact corporate he completely ignored me and did not give me his name. I had to get it from another employee. read more

We are a dog loving family, and we have been bringing our pups to this location for over 10 years. They do an amazing job with both my cane corso and our yorkie at the groomers department. The staff always recognizes us and remembers the boys names. They have awesome sales racks and tons of products from different name brands for your pup. I am giving this place 3 starts---for now, as construction next door has the parking lot looking like a hot mess. I went tonight and it was very hard to maneuver between all the construction stuff the workers left in parking lot. Aside from that, I come to this store to purchase betta fish and the items such as food and water treatment they require. I purchased our last betta here, and it lasted about a year! Which is awesome. The fish are a bit expensive, specially the male ones, but then again, I am not too familiar with cost of fish in general this might just be standard, and at least the last one had a nice life span ours died bc castle inside bowl landed on him after he swam fast by it and motion shook water and castle , totally something that could've prevented, I learned that now). :( The store is usually well organized, and you can always call on someone to help over the loud speaker if you let the cashier know that you need assistance. read more

An $18 sweater you had marked down to $11 and a huge stuffed monkey you had at $8.99 reduced to $4.99. I love this location first of all due to the fact that the employees are always so nice and willing to help out. The prices for a pet place are average (I sometimes get my doggie food at pet supermarket only because is closer to home). Always a good stock of the Nutro holistic food which is great because at the aforementioned pet store they usually run out quickly. This review is mainly for the girls & the one guy working at the groomer area, they have so much patience with my fur baby and always in a good mood and willing to be patient with my Bella. Last time Bella didn't let the groomer cut the hair with the groomer machine and the girl used the scissors instead (I am sure that this took her a really long time). It's wonderful that she did this without even calling me or gave up on my baby. (Bella is sweet but moves a lot she said when she gets nervous making it dangerous for the shaver) She consistently has gotten a nice haircut the last 5 times I have taken her to this location and the shampoo they use smells awesome and they have special packages depending on the season. Wash and cut (with the ear cleaning, clipping nails and anal sac cleaning, yuk poor girls!) is about $55 and my girl is under 20 lbs. If my experience just now was a live version of Facebook, this girl's status would be "Female Dogging it"... Like they say, adopt, don't shop! I'm absolutely smitten with a 2 year old rat terrier mix named Berry who immediately put her two front paws on my leg as soon as I kneeled down. She was very quiet, calm, and affectionate. There was also a darling jack Russell named Astro who also climbed into my lap right away. Those were just two of the dozens of dogs present there. There were several chocolate lab mixes too, who were found abandoned in a parking lot. Who does that? Maybe some breeder whose dog got knocked up by a mutt. I guess they figured they couldn't make any money off of mixes so they dumped them. How shameful! There were originally 17 of those puppies, but they've found homes for a bunch of them already. It's not too hard finding homes for super cute puppies! My mom says whenever she needs to stock up on litter and cat food, she visits on the weekend so she can say hello to all of the doggies looking to meet their forever families! It's a great way to find your match, but even if you're not looking to adopt, it's still fun to play with them and you're doing them a favor too by socializing with them! read more

This store has the most uncaring workers ever.i went in to purchase fish and when I walked up to the tanks, many of the fish were dead and being eaten by other fish in their tanks which are signs of neglect. I waited over 30 minutes to get some fish and I wasn't able to because the worker named kevin which was called for on 3 separate occasions never showed up. Then the cashier was having a full on conversation with a friend that came to visit and had me waiting to pay for 5 minutes. Horrible service and very unprofessional workers do not recommend this store at all. Needs an employee overhaul ASAP. read more

BEWARE! Dryers are unsafe for pets in the grooming process. From my perso al experience, I brought my cat here on a day where they accept cats for grooming. When I brought her home I noticed an unusual breath, her miyth was open and her breath was so deep her head would move. She was uncomfortable and I had called petsmart for a visit to the in hous3 hospital bc it happened at the grooming. Long story short, Petsmart didn't cover the visit my cat is on medication for life bc of the trauma experienced here and triggered her heart condition which the hospital blamed it on. It was triggered all from her visit to the groomers amd other vets advised that it most definitely was from the dryer that they place the pets in front of which is traumatic for many pets. I'm lucky my pet has medication but research into it online and you'll learn how many countless deaths have happened at the zpetsmart groomers or pets leaving with bizarre behavior that affcts them for the rest of their lives. I do my own pet's grooming now. If you have to go, I'd say push to stay and observe your pet throughout the process. read more

I can honestly say I will NEVER return to petsmart in my entire life. My yorkie came in for a simple nail clipping that ended up turning into a very unfortunate and headache event. I advise no one to take their pet there. My dog ended up with a large gash and head trauma to his head in which they first tell me was a simple scrape. I could not have been furious, and upset in my entire life because he is a rescue dog that has no teeth, did not deserve a girl who was NOT trained to scar up his head like that because of a SIMPLE nail trimming. They don't even seem to know what they are doing and neither does there supervisor. I have never brought my dog to the salon or vet at this location before and let me start off by saying I will not be returning either. After coming two days in a row to try to get my small dog a nail trim, I was told the first day to wait about 15 minutes to be serviced. After 30 minutes I walked out. We tried again later the same day and were told to return at 5 because they were too busy. The next day, I was told to wait 30 minutes and I said OK. After one hour, I was told by the receptionist to try coming back the following day because they were too busy to help us out. Ridiculous. One hour wasted waiting to be told they could not attend us. Went to another location and my dog was getting her nails cut within five minutes of arriving. Never again. 0 stars. read more

I went to take my dog (2 yo Yorkie-Maltese) to get groomed at PetSmart since my usual groomer did not have any availability. At first I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to move up Dexter's appt due to cancellations. When I went into the grooming salon, I was greeted by Lisa, which had taken my call earlier in the day. I had told her that he did have some knots, but they were usually easy to detangle. I have never had a problem/complaint about detangling my pooch with my usual groomer. She refused to try to detangle him and told me that we would have to completely shave him. I told her that I would like for her to try to detangle him first before having to shave him. His hair isn't even that long! She didn't want to be bothered and didn't even suggest anything else. I left with Dexter after this horrible encounter. I understand that they groom dogs every day, but I am the customer. They shouldn't have a final say in how my dog is going to look. Needless to say, I will never take him back to this PetSmart to have him groomed. read more

I have a little shih-tzu pup and buy him Royal Canine puppy food and a small 2lb bag is $22. I get on amazon and find a 36lb bag of food same brand and everything for $32. HORRIBLE customer service. There were some sweaters on sale (this happened on 1/8/17) that had the sticker up for 7.99. In the short amount of time that I went to go pay, they rang up regular price. I went to show them the sticker and it wasn't there anymore and there weren't that many employees working. The sticker magically disappeared and a vitamin rep was there and saw it too. The store manager, Angel, called me a liar and wouldn't adjust price because "he didn't see it with his own eyes and the rep isn't an employee". He was SO rude. I will NEVER spend another dollar with Petsmart again. I work for an animal hospital too, we always need supplies so they lost a lot more than $50 yesterday. I honestly hope he loses his job. I completely agree with the previous reviews regarding the lack of experienced, knowledgeable groomers. I called in for an appointment for 5:30pm everything well. I get there and instead of the employee charging me for what I asked for she said "I just charged you for whatever they did before". But this is not before, this is now. Regardless I paid before as I always do, received a call saying my dog was being too much to handle and she could not finish that I needed to get me dog early. Come back to find the absolute rudest employee. It is not my fault nor my dogs fault if you couldn't cut his hair. But expected me to pay $70 for a dog grooming that was not finished, his nails were not cut, his hair was only shaved on the body, not the legs, paws, tail or face. I was very upset. The groomer was so rude, when the manager came she immediately returned my money because it was ridiculous. To top it all off my dog was bleeding on his leg which I'm sure is because she went too close to his skin. My poor dog was crying as soon as I got there. I will never return to this petsmart. I would suggest going some where else who will take care of your dog and you as the owner as businesses should. read more
