My dog was dog aggressive, could never take her to a dog park, taking her on a walk or anywhere where we could possibly encounter another dog was a nightmare. She was stubborn and would listen to me maybe 50% of the time on a good day. Everyone told me to use positive methods, take her near a dog park and give her treats every time she looks at a dog. None of that worked. I was told she was reactive and I just needed to accept that. But my dog was so reactive and fearful she was not enjoying life. On the first day with Richard, I saw an immediate change, she was able to walk by a dog and not even bark or lunge or make a sound. It was crazy! Richard was right... coming into this my dog didn't trust me and let me tell you his methods not only improved my dog's life but improved my relationship with my dog. By the third day of training my dog was in the dog park, playing and running around with other dogs and you could see how happy she was, it was like a weight of fear was lifted off her shoulders, I could not believe it. Now I go to dog parks two to three times a week. At first, I was skeptical about e-collar training, but seeing how quick and effective it was and how knowledgeable Richard was with this I definitely grew more comfortable with it and am convinced there truly is no other way, but the most important thing here is Richard. They set up a consultation to discuss my specific tasks for Wrig to work on to help me have an easier life. Wrigley left me as a highly energetic rescue dog with so much love and no spacial awareness. She was extremely smart but didn't know how to use it. After a month with Cadence K9 she came home a smart, fully aware, still so loving, extremely helpful service dog. They not only taught her basic commands to help me in every day life, but they taught her critical thinking in every day life. She went on field trips to get public training and she absolutely knew when she was working and when she wasn't. I was blown away. Just a week or so ago, several months after her training camp, Wrigley and I were out and about shopping. I was standing at a counter purchasing something and Wrigley noticed people walking close behind me. She switched on her own and made herself a protective barrier between me and the crowd. Not long after that I was walking through a restaurant and tripped and fell on a rug. Wrigley ran to the nearest person and got their attention to come help me up. I'm not sure how you train a dog to do that specifically, but I do know they helped Wrigley understand her purpose and role in life when she is working for me.
