I do not recommend this boarding/sitter service for dogs. My niece took her Staffordshire dog (2 years old) to this pet sitter service. The dog was returned with a filthy cage full of dog excrement. The dog himself was covered in feces and there were flies surrounding him in his cage. He lost weight. We were assured by owner that all would be well. We received daily updates. However all negative undertones. This particular dog was a rescue dog that my niece nurtured back to health. He's loving, playful and sweet loves to be with people and playful with other dogs. Sitter would reply that "he's very anxious"; "does not like the other dogs"; "isn't eating". When the dog was dropped off, she was also taking care of 6-7 other dogs. Perhaps it was /it is too much of a load for her to take on. She should have said no or only offered services for less days. I could not have the dog in my home as I am deathly allergic to dogs (short/long haired). We asked around several people for recommendations on a pet service. Karina came highly recommend but I feel she did not care for my niece's dog properly and safely. When we picked him up, he smelled awful and was filthy as was his cage, pet bed. He had to be taken to a groomer for bath/cleaning him him up. I do not recommend Karina Kares for pet sitter services for a lengthy amount of time. Perhaps for 3-4 days she might do the service well. And again she had way too many dogs in her care. I do not recommend her long/extended care (which is what we needed). read more

We've used Karina a few times now, & feel very fortunate to have found her. Our dog Luna is a lab mix & as she's gotten older has developed some anxiety issues. Karina has been very kind & patient with her. We just recently traveled & left Luna there for 5 days & she did fine. I highly recommend Karina & plan on using her again read more

I am so glad I found Karina! She is the only place I will ever take my pug again. She sends photos and updates as often as you'd like. You can tell she really cares and is passionate about what she does. I can leave town and never worry, and my dog comes home happy and healthy. This is really the only place to go! read more

Had to go out of town and didn't want to bother family members with this task, I went on yelp to see if there are any pet sitters and came across Karina Kares. She had no reviews but her website was there. I went to her website and saw reviews of her previous and repeat customers so I proceeded to contact her. Her rates were reasonable and she did exactly as I instructed her to do. Will visit my home 3 times a day and sent me pics at night of her visits with my pets. I trusted her with my home Keys which is a big deal. At first I was hesitant but after our initial meeting I felt she was trustworthy. And also the reviews on her facebook page helped in my decision. I would definitely use her services again! read more

Take better care of my dog who was taken care of horribly. Had the excuse of saying it was my family's fault for not allowing her to take my dog to the vet when my dog has never had to go to the vet in her life unless it was to get her shots. When we got her back we did take her to the vet since she seemed very dehydrated, our vet reported that if she was in the state she was in any longer when we picked her up she would have been dead. My dog has always been healthy until suddenly some days of being there she was sick. I see in all her 1 star reviews she always has an excuse. read more

Karina is the most wonderful dog sitter! We've left my Kaiya, a husky with her several times. I found her when I was living in Kendall and while my home is now in Aventura, I still drive to her because when Kaiya is with Karina, I don't worry. Karina pays attention to the needs of each animal in her care and ensures that all are cared for. I highly recommend her and her services. read more

I love Karina!!! There has never been a time where she has let me down. My Dexter always has so much fun when he visits her and her family!! The times I've had to take him was last minute, and she has always made accommodations. Can't beat the price either. It's much better and more personal than taking your pup to a boarding shop. She updates me throughout the day with pictures and texts. I wouldn't trust anyone else to care for my puppy except her. Thank you Karina for treating Dexter like family! read more

Karina Kares Sitter is an amazing pet care service. They treat your pup like part of the family. Karina and her family did a wonderful job taking care of our two dogs while we were away on a trip! They were very friendly and caring, and sent us updates and pictures regularly so we would know how they were doing. They even got to make new doggie friends part of the time they were there. We would definitely leave our dogs with them if we needed to in the future and know they are in good hands! read more

Finding Karina as a babysitter was like an answer to a prayer. We couldn't be happier with her services and care for our 6 month old yorkie. I was recommended Karina Kares by a close friend who states she will never leave her dogs with anyone else. Since I've been using Karina Kares I feel the same way. I have a 12 year old Weimaraner that is a very important and special part of our family. My Mom used to take care of him when I would go out of town but she's getting older and not as easy for her any more. When I leave my dog with Karina she treats him part of her family. He's a little shy around other dogs and she's helped acclimate to other dogs, he's even made friends and plays. She sends me texts with pictures and keeps me updated on how his doing. She walks him regularly so he gets his exercise. She's very knowledgeable and patient. Whenever I leave my dog with her I know he's in good hands and I can enjoy my vacation. The last time I went to pick him up he didn't want to leave with me. I guess he was having a great time. I totally recommend Karina for anyone who is looking for a quality sitter that offers good care in a family setting. read more

My boyfriend and I adopted our first dog not too long ago and have been with her everyday ever since. The day finally came where we both went on vacation, but unfortunately couldn't bring her with us. We didn't know where to leave her or who to leave her with, but everything happens for a reason! I met Karina one afternoon at the dog park and after talking for a few minutes she told us about her business. I was so happy and in an instant our dog fell in love with her too. We left our dog for about 5 days and we both received very detailed updates and pictures every single day. I was delighted to have found someone who took care of our dog as if she was her own. I can say I trust Karina 10000% and will continue to drop off our pup with her whenever we go out of town. read more

Karina. Is. Awesome. When I was studying in Bulgaria for a little over a week, this was my first time having to leave my cat behind for a long time period and without a friend or family member to watch him. I'm very new to Miami, so I didn't know where to turn at all. Cats are more independent than dogs, but they still need care and love. Plus, my little guy is super affectionate and gets lonely! I also hated the thought of boarding him, given the cost and that he would likely be stuck in a strange, small cage the whole time I was gone. So, I hired Karina to check on my cat at my home, and she was AMAZING. For each visit, she would take care of the litter box, take care of my cat's food, and also play with him and just give him some nice attention. She even texted me with pictures of my cat and a very detailed update as to how he was doing. It really made one of my biggest worries about being so far away not be a worry at all. Plus, she's very trustworthy when it comes to your home and anything else in it too! So, I was able to trust Karina with both my baby and my home. That says a lot. And by the way, this saved me a ton of money over boarding my cat, he didn't have the trauma of having to leave our home and got the space of our home... It was a win all the way around. Please do hire this wonderful, sweet, trustworthy lady who so loves animals and is so kind to them and their pet parents. read more

Karina is awesome! It was my first time being away from my puppy and to say the least I was a little scared. Karina comforted me and reassured me that Lily was going to have a great time. She took the time to answer all 100 of my questions and even sent me pictures of Lily with her kids and the other dogs. Needless to say, Lily loved her stay with Karina and she was even a little sad when we brought her back home. I definitely recommend Karina! read more

I found Karina on yelp and saw the great reviews, so I decided to give her a try... She was so nice and understanding especially when my flight and airport delay came into play during thanksgiving holidays. She sent photos of my pup with all the other dogs she was taking care of. We decided to give Karina a call because we were leaving for the weekend and at last minute our dog sitter bailed. After finding Karina on yelp I thought let's give it a try and Karina was very welcoming and was so excited to have Troy for the weekend. I trusted Karina because while on the phone with her we noticed that she knew about dogs and you can tell the love she has for them. Throughout the weekend we got updates and pictures of Troy the whole day. When we went to pick up or Golden Retriever we could tell that he was happy where he was, and even though he was excited to see us he slept all night and we could tell he was exhausted from all the fun he had at Karina's. I will definitely be keeping her in mind for our next getaway. Thank you Karina !!! read more

I had to plan a (super) last minute trip, and thankfully Karina was able to take my two dogs. One of them was recently adopted and is timid and anxious. By the end of the trip you could tell she had settled in, and both dogs seemed very happy and definitely well cared for. She gave daily updates with pictures, and was completely honest with me about how they were doing, even when my dog broke into the trash. Neither one of my dogs are perfectly behaved angels, but Karina handled them with love and professionalism, and it showed in their demeanor when I picked them up. In the past my dog had been anxious and panting when I'd taken him to a different place in Miami, here he was happily relaxing looking out the window before he saw me. I couldn't be happier with Karina! read more

I found Karina through yelp, and prayed she would be a good doggy sitter for our furry baby. And Karina did not disappoint! She is now the only person we trust with our dog. She is caring, sends updates frequently, and doesn't mind when I ask for more updates/pictures. I have left my dog Petey with her many times now, with the latest being a 12 day trip without any issues. And not to mention that Petey is so happy every time he sees her!!! I told Karina before that I feel like her home is the Disneyland for dogs. I 100% recommend her to take care of your dog! read more

I will like to preface this review by saying that I rarely write a negative review and the only reason I am writing this today is because several of my friends and family thought I should share our experience with Karina. On October 2016 I googled up looking for a dog sitter in the Hammocks and that is how I came across Karina. My husband and I were going out of town for 5 days on a motorcycle trip to the Florida panhandle and needed someone to care for our beautiful, playful and very energetic 5 year old shepherd/pointer mix, Lulu. We had never left Lulu up to this point with anyone other than family but due to the high number of positive reviews, we decided to give her a try since she sounded amazing. We spoke with her a couple of times over the phone and finally on the day we were leaving, my step son dropped Lulu off with instructions, food, toys etc. We received texts and pictures of our girl on a daily basis. Everything up to this point seemed to be going great based on our daily communications with Karina. Finally on the Sunday we were returning to Miami we received a frantic call from Karina who told us that she had put Lulu in a room upstairs while her and her husband enjoyed an early dinner and when they checked on her almost 1.5 hours later, she was lying unresponsive on the ground. As I mentioned before, Lulu was 5 years old, she had just had a birthday the week before and had been to the vet for a check up who found her healthy and playful as expected for a healthy dog. Lulu had never had a seizure or any other type of health issue. Karina asked me what to do with her, I asked she took her to the closest emergency vet service where my in laws met Karina and her husband. Our Lulu was dead on arrival. My husband decided against the autopsy, she was gone and the autopsy was not going to bring our girl back.Everyone that knew Lulu had a hard time believing that she was gone. She was always such a good, friendly and loving girl. She was by far the best dog we had ever had. A year has gone by and my husband still cries every time he randomly thinks of her. Karina told us many times how sorry she was about what happened and I do not doubt the sincerity of her words however, I do feel that there is more to what happened that day. A perfectly healthy 5 year old dog does not just die We will probably never know what really happened to our baby but what we do know is that we lost a part of our life that will never be forgotten. read more

Karina took excellent care of our baby girl, Mila over the weekend. She provided updates everyday with photos and let us know her daily activities. She was very professional and accommodating even with our late pickup time. We will definitely use her service again when traveling. read more

Karina took care of our 11 YO Shit Zu for 7 days. Since we love our dog I was skeptical to leave her with a stranger. We are now very pleased with Karina. Seems she has been doing this for long time and she has a real passion for dogs. She sent almost daily updates including pictures. She was very honest in her updates on the things our dog was doing well or the ones she was not doing well, like pee accidents, etc. Upon the dog return we monitored the dog to check if she had suffered any kind of depression or notice something strange but she came very happy and adjusted well back to her routine. I will use her services again if I have to. Thanks Karina!!! read more
