I took my dog in for a bath, deshedding, And nail trim. I ended up spending over $80 just for my dog to smell as bad as he did after I got him home as he did when I brought him in. The only indication that he might have been bathed, possibly without shampoo, was that he was still wet when I picked him up, which is not good for a dog with an undercoat. And yes, I'm aware it's summer, and yes, I'm aware that dogs get hot and smelly when they go outside. However, my dog is six years old. We've gone through six summers and many different grooming appointments and never has he stank as bad as he did as this visit. I do not believe he was given a proper bath. I do not believe he received the deshedding. I feel he just spent two hours up there of wasted time and I spent $80 of wasted money. I definitely, 100%, do not recommend the Lake Worth PetSmart. I have used other PetSmart and have not had this issue. It was an expensive lesson to learn. read more

Very disappointed with this location today. My mom and I went to get dog food and found some in the clearance area (near the main blue buffalo products). These little tubs were obviously in the clearance section and did not know that 3 of the tubs out of almost 10 that we've picked were not for individual sale. The blonde short haired cashier that check us out assumed that we got these out of a box. We were very offended that she assumed this as we found these on the clearance shelf. If these were not meant to be on clearance shelf for individual sale and supposed to be in box - don't leave them on the shelf for individual sale or at least have your staff know about this. To the girl that checked us out around 7:20pm-ish, please make sure that you use different wording next time or at least ask your coworkers before assuming that we got those tiny tubs from a box. Also, I didn't like how there was one man just texting away at check out #2 and just looking at everyone else (I am just gonna assume you're a manager or assistant manager) - it didn't sit right with me as he could be helping out other people. Deserves a ZERO. WE have taken our Löwchen, Cleo here for a year. We always suspected were weren't getting what we paid for, nail grinding & anal sac excretion. We booked with a pretender called Nicole J. She did a good job at first but then went down hill. The last time we found a rising under the skin on her left ear, which had been bleeding on off. We took her to the vet who told us she had probably been cut during grooming. This made sense, Nicole made up a big lie about Cleo going nuts when blow drying. Said she would no longer groom her. They even blocked us from the web site to prevent our bad feedback. It cost us $150 sum odd dollars in vet bills & we had to apply medicine for 2 weeks to treat. Yes the team of nicole J & petsmart are made for each other. I wish I could prevent them from touching another baby. read more

Place is extremely unprofessional I came here to give my dogs some training & exposure and was approached rudely by a manager named Matt claiming he talked to me last week & that "he's not gonna tell me again that I'm not allowed to train here" I've never spoke to him or been approached by him in my life. So if he spoke to some other African American male that's fine but he hadn't spoke to me. And if he doesn't want to offend people he should make sure it's the same individual. Talked to a groomer as well as an associate here @ the Lake Worth PetSmart around 4:30 and they couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable about how to care for my old chihuahua. From calming treats to clipping her nails. All of this helped bc before all I could manage was to clip 3 nails max & today I got all of them!!:-). So not take you're pet to this place. I took my dog in today for grooming. I received a call 1 hour after she was dropped off stating that they could not cut the hair on her face because she would not let them and for their safety, they could not shave her and I would need to take her to a vet pet groomer. My husband picked her up and they had shave her down to the skin on one side in the back. They told him that she would not sit still and for their safety, would not continue. Not sure why the need to lie. They could have been honest and said they made a mistake and cut her too short. I would've at least appreciated that they were telling me the truth. read more

But I had an appointment today at 11:45, got there at 11:48 which I was late but not super late and the girl took a while to get come out and greet us. Not only that but she came out with an attitude and said "can I help you?".... Yes we had an appointment at 11:45 and then she said they couldn't take my pet in because we were late so I asked them "how late could we be" and she said 5 minutes and we are 5 minutes late so they have an appointment on a day .... I just walked away. 5 minutes .... We were 3 minutes late ... THEY took a while to come out but it's our fault .... Okay lol will not be bringing my fur baby here again. I took my 3 dogs there for the 10th and last time. One girl worked on two of them. I informed her about Jackson's health issues. He has some occasional trembling in his back legs with some less occasional weakness. She decided to inform me in what I took to be a nasty tone, that they may not be able to finish his treatment if he can't stand on 3 legs when needed. I told her that should not be a problem. She appeared nonplussed. When I picked him up, she complained about his misbehavior and his whining and fussing during her work. She also complained about his sister, Bixie not letting her blow dry her. Her attitude both before and after the treatment gave me the distinct impression that she was doing this job for the money only. Previously, I've always felt my dogs were in good hands, the hands of a real animal lover. Not her. I know my dogs have always been a handful (2 of them, at least) and have always tipped accordingly. This time, this girl charged me an extra "handling fee" of $7 for Jackson. I don't mind paying it because I took it out of the $10 tip per dog I always gave before. This time, I tipped $5 per dog. She was intolerable about those 2 beauties. I do not think she's a dog lover like I've always felt my groomers were in the past. So I will never take any of my dogs there again. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE FOR GROOMING OR VET CARE!!!!! I want to begin by saying that the staff (vet, vet techs, front desk help) have a superhuman level of patience and truly care about every animal that comes in. BUT, the way these businesses are ran (grooming and vet) is a horror show. My dog's pad on his foot was sliced open by a groomer who was in a hurry to get him done quickly and he ended up needing stitches --right away. The time constraints and the pressure that these folks are put under to get your pet's services done so quickly is the issue. But more clients means more profit margin for the businesses right? Your pet will suffer because of this -- mine did. I am putting this out there as a warning to other potential customers so that your pet doesn't end up injured and needing emergency vet care like mine did. The whole thing has been a complete nightmare. The people are not the problem -- it's the whole business model and structure. Your pet is just $$$ to the company. Staff and personnel are under too much pressure to sell sell sell and have inhuman turnaround rates for more appointments. It is not their fault -- it is the company's fault. I brought my dog in to get groomed by Mikaela and forgot to bring his rabies vaccination paperwork - my mistake and I acknowledge so I was told to reschedule, no problem. The next day I go to bring him to his appt and then was told sorry we cannot accept him because he has large benign tumors on him. I put that information in the notes on his check-in information! Why was that not told to me when I originally brought him in? Do you even READ the notes on the check-in paperwork? Mikaela also added that if she was a private groomer she would do it herself but because of Petsmart's rules and regulations she cannot do it. Mikaela, YOU should of told me that when we originally brought him in and READ the notes on the check-in paperwork beforehand like you SHOULD be doing in the first place. Never go to this location of Banfield Hospital. First I called to make an appointment and nobody answered. Then I walk in with my cat to get a simple yearly rabies vaccination and come to find out all the employees are sitting in the breakroom at 4pm. I'm greeted by such a rude lady who I guess doesn't understand the concept of respecting and treating a customer with a CIVIL attitude. Her greeting was not "Hi how can I help you", it was "What do you want?!. What I want is for her to teach herself manners. Then she told me I needed an appointment, well if you want me to make an appointment, you have to PICK UP THE PHONE which you don't. I will not be taking my dog back to this groomer location ever. They were extremely short staffed which is no employees fault however because of this they seemed to have rushed my dogs hair cut. I do have a doodle mix and they told me they didn't have time to brush his hair that's why they cut it off. Soon after bringing him home I noticed him licking a bunch, turned out because they cut him in over 5 different spots. Considering the groomer said he did really well and did not move much there should be no reason for my dogs to have received cuts all over the place. read more

I like this location. The salespeople are really nice, and they are usually very knowledgeable. The only thing that I've ever purchased that simply didn't work as promised for my dog was an electric collar. It was like $250, and I used it for two weeks before deciding to return it. Wishing I could give zero stars on this one. Yes I understand Covid and staff shortages (thanks Yelp for the pop up to remind me) but not applicable to my review. A couple days ago I had to stop for a few pet items and decided to use curbside pickup to avoid roaming around inside. I pull up and check in. Half an hour goes by, nothing. I call the number on the sign and the phones arent working! Awesome. I went inside irritated and hot at this point. Only 1 cashier is working (yet there were 4 associates holed up in the office hiding and giggling) and the poor girl was struggling with every transaction and no help. If she asked for help they came stomping out obviously annoyed with her. To this girl, if you're reading this, please quit that job. I finally get someones attention and explain I've been sitting outside for half an hour waiting on a curbside order. The person told me next time to push the red button "over there". For a curbside pickup? Why? Moving on they finally get my bag and I realize an item is missing. The Kong dog toys were on sale buy 2 get 1 free. I had picked 3 random toys for the pups. I guess one *specific* toy was out of stock (but was in stock when I made the online purchase) so they just omitted the free item entirely. I inquired about it and was told there was nothing he could do. I asked if we could just grab a 3rd Kong toy, didnt matter which one and he said no, the purchase was already final and he couldn't do that. I fail to understand why he coud not give me the free sale item. I reiterated the item was free and didnt understand why it was complicated. He then said I could BUY the 3rd kong toy, and he'd let me have 50% off. So in the end I never got the free item from my order but had to actually pay for the free item. Recently, my coworker got a free chameleon from here which I found sketchy as chameleons are pricy and hard to take care of. After having her for about a month, she said she could no longer care for it so I took over. I had her for a week and noticed she was only sleeping and she was dehydrated and not taking water. I brought her to the vet yesterday to be told she was in very late stage metabolic bone disease which had to have been going on for at least a year. I feel this is why petsmart gave her away for free. She sadly passed last night and while I only had her for a week, I loved her so incredibly much and spent practically all day every day with her. I'm not sure if petsmart has some quota where they get in trouble for animals passing in their ownership so they just dump them on anyone who wants a free pet or something but it's incredibly awful she didn't get the early intervention she needed. read more

Then on top of that they groomed my Dog there and then have no records of him so when I went to have him groomed at another one, they called to get his proof of rabies and they didnt have it. Took my dog for his grooming appointment on Sat, as soon as we walked into Salon my dog got very anxious which isn't normal on him considering we've been to same location for years, I asked groomer Ashlynn if baths are been monitored as I wanted to be assured that my baby was safe there, and instead of reassuring me of PetSmart being a safe place for my dog she got very defensive saying that if I didn't feel comfortable leaving my dog there then I should go else where. She just turned around and left to the back leaving us in the front waiting not understanding what was happening, then Manager comes to the salon we explained to him what happened and pretty much got same response from him to go else where if I didn't feel comfortable with them. Obviously after this escalated situation from a simple question, their careless responses and not assuring me my pet is safe while on their hands I decided to leave and not trust my baby on their hands anymore. I found happy k9 dog wash and grooming and they were able to take in my baby the same day and provided an excellence and caring service! read more

The last two leather collars I bought for my dog ripped right in half, the last time it ripped in half he got off his leash and ran out into the road and got ran over and broke his leg, now my vet bill is $700. After today, I am finding a new groomer. Usually, I get great service and the groomers are friendly and work hard to please the customer. However, today one groomer was very rude to me and she cut too close on my dog's paws to where they were slightly bleeding. Her excuse was "he doesn't like getting his paws shaved and he moved around too much." Then she proceeded to lecture me about how I should have Petsmart pluck the inside of my dog's ears and I told her my vet says no plucking. Got more lecturing which made me feel very uneasy; makes me wonder how my dog was treated while I was away. Sorry ... Petsmart but I will follow my vet's advice who has 8+ yrs of college education and 20 yrs of experience before your groomer's advice. I also had to ask for a scarf for my dog!
