We took our almost 6 month old Whoodle Petey to be trained at CK9. The entire place was spotless and Heidi welcomed him and explained the training process to us. During the first week there Heidi drew a bead on his intelligence and stubborn nature and let us know that he would need a firm but affectionate hand. She did not let him get away with his reluctance to submit even though he was pouty about it. When we picked him up, we were amazed! He followed our commands during our training session and retained much of what he learned. We had to go out of town for a funeral and then a few days later he was neutered, so he had a disruptive week but has gone back to obeying most of his commands. He even stops at doorways though I forget he is supposed to do it. Petey does have a larcenous side and is a stealthy counter surfer. He needs to be watched carefully and we are trying to tame the bandit in him. Otherwise he is delightful and fun to be around We had a house full of company last weekend and Petey did great with everyone, including two boys aged 10 and 12. Everybody fell in love with our sweet, smart, well behaved boy! We are so grateful to Heidi and EJ for giving us our darling, smart and obedient Petey. Heidi and her husband are amazing and are very nice and don't make you feel like you've done anything wrong if your dog may not be the best. I have a 2 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois. If you know the breed, by instinct we are talking too smart, a lot of energy, high drive, and protective by nature. It has been a year since Zoey went to training and she is still so great! Before training she was a terror to walk, pulling and barking aggressively at other dogs or people if they came too close. She did not listen to commands, she knew them all but wouldn't be obedient. She was the dog at training class that got the gold star and A+ and then came home and was like I'm the boss not you. Now enter Heidi. She talked to me multiple times on the phone about training, the layout of the facility and calmed any fears I had about letting my dog go. The facility is amazing and clean and very secure! During quarantine, with all that spare time and having everyone home, we decided it was time to adopt a new puppy (our old, perfect dog had passed at 14 years, last October). So... we adopted an adorable little mutt named Mocha. Well... Instead of a sweet Mocha, this girl was more of a bold, robust, energetic Espresso. The kind that really knocks you down! Her personality was ALL boss. As in... "I'M THE BOSS OF EVERYONE IN THIS HOUSE." She would jump, bite, and bark at everyone. I had been working on her training myself, but I didn't feel like it was working out (she was SUCH a bossy brat, this dog). Since I own a home daycare and have toddlers in my house all the time, I knew it was imperative that I have a dog that follows commands and has manners. Enter EJ and Heidi. From the start, they made the entire process easy (except being away from her for two weeks!). The weekly report cards were great and when I saw, in black and white, that a professional agreed that Mocha just has a bossy personality and can be a bit of a brat (SHE THROWS ACTUAL TANTRUMS!), I have to say I felt a little vindicated. I was thinking I was just a terrible dog person (this is only partially true... I WAS babying her too much and realized when you give this dog an inch, she takes seventy-five miles). The first day back was a little emotional and rough, but the change in her has been pretty miraculous. Our family decided to get another Golden Retriever puppy to help our 8 year old dog stay active and healthy. What we did not realize is that welcoming JIRO, the 8 week old puppy, would be a TON of work for the WHOLE family! Jiro's main problem is food obsession - the incessant whining and barking coupled with jumping to get to his food. We tried everything to calm him in his witching hours but our efforts failed. Hello, I found Heidi on yelp after an extensive search for training for our 6 month old puppy. Josie is a German Sheppard and started showing signs of aggression. The bigger she got I felt like I was loosing control of her and not knowing how to handle it started to scare me. I have two girls under 5 and going anywhere with Josie was very stressful. I felt like I couldn't give my puppy what she needed because I was starting to get nervous. So I contacted Heidi and she was so great! My family is thrilled with the excellent training our 5 month old American Eskimo puppies received from Heidi at Complete K9 Training. Before they went to training, they were running wild and making life very difficult. They jumped all over us, barked at everything, pulled us on walks, and acted super crazy. We had them living in the kitchen and they were behind a baby gate. While in the kitchen, they ate big parts of our floor baseboards, and they ate their beds and pee pads. We scheduled our 2-year old Vizsla for training, after months of treat-based training elsewhere that was getting us nowhere. His results are incredible still weeks after working with Heidi. Before Training: - Walks were chaotic with Vinny looking "excited or energetic," but really he was exhibiting a massive amount of anxiety. Walking him left us exhausted, embarrassed and distressed. - Car behavior was terrible - he would cry, whine and bark frantically. I originally heard about ck9 training from a random fellow labradoodle owner on larchmont street. Her pup was so well trained compared to my wild 8 month old pup, Wilshire. I was convinced then and there and sent him away to the program for 2 weeks. He just finished this past Saturday and it's been a wonder having him at home. On day 2 of being home, he is forgetting some commands, but we are giving him some time to get used to being back again and training him consistently as Heidi, the main trainer at CK9, instructed us. Wilshire is now a pup who my mom can walk because he doesn't pull on the leash and whom I can cuddle with because he doesn't nip or get dominant. I felt very comfortable leaving Sierra in the care of Heidi for the next two weeks. I took my 9-month Siberian Husky, Sierra, to Heidi in October and all I can say is WOW! Sierra was well behaved prior to the training but wanted to get her to the point of understanding and obeying additional commands. When we received the week 1 update I was amazed at how well Sierra was doing; while she was only half way through her training she was doing very well. Due to a family emergency we had to adjust our pick-up time and Heidi went out of her way to help accommodate us and make sure we were taken care of. When it was time to pick up Sierra, Heidi was very through in her review of the material she was giving us, the training commands Sierra learned and showed us the video of Sierra's training. Heidi took the time to show me, my wife and our friend all the commands that Sierra was trained on and took the time to make sure all three of us were comfortable using the commands with Sierra and that the humans were trained as well as Sierra was. Now two months later I am happy to report that Sierra is still doing amazing. She is very proficient with her commands still, responds well to the correction and you can tell she just wants to do well and make us happy! I am very happy with the results so far and I would recommend Heidi and CK9 Training to all my friends. Any new dog we get from here on out will spend time with CK9 Training! My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Heidi and EJ! We brought our 2 dogs to be trained by them. We have 2 german shepherds, 2yr female and 3yr male. We initially did some private lessons + group classes with a different trainer/company who used treat based training methods. We honestly feel like we wasted our time and money on this type of training because we got very little improvement after 10+ sessions. Our female GSD was very leash aggressive towards any dog and our male shepherd would kind of join in any time she would have an outburst, which is not something he ever did before we adopted her. It was impossible to walk them and we could never walk them together at the same time. It was embarrassing and frustrating to take them anywhere. They were angels at home and liked other dogs but anytime a leash was involved, they were completely different dogs. My female GSD would lunge, bark, whine, bite our leash, and just completely lose it when she would see another dog out on a walk. We could not control her or even get her attention off the other dog. We were getting nowhere with the treat based training and we were getting very discouraged with the whole process. We were desperate. I found Heidi and EJ through Yelp after a friend suggested we do a board and train. After my dogs completed their 2 weeks of training I was amazed at what I saw. They could both walk on a leash, together, around other dogs without having major outbursts. And when they did get excited or we could sense they might act out, we were able to successfully correct the behavior to where it didn't escalate to an uncontrollable situation. This was months ago, and my dogs are still really well behaved on their leashes. I get compliments on how well they walk. I no longer feel out of control or embarrassed when I take them anywhere. It's still something that we have to work on daily but we went from feeling hopeless, embarrassed and frustrated to feeling hopeful and confident and in control of my dogs. If you are on the fence about their board and training, absolutely do it! I really wish we would have done this a lot sooner and skipped the group classes/private training altogether. 100% worth the money. read more

Heidi is the consummate professional. She is THE dog whisperer in her field . I brought her my little French bulldog rescue who was unable to follow any commands of any kind. I was beside myself since positive reinforcement training with treats were not working whatsoever . In 2 very short weeks , Heidi completely turned my 8 month Frenchie into a well behaved happy dog that enjoys going on walks , listens to me and overall has been transformed into the dog of my dreams . My Frenchie and I work together to maintain Heidi's training for about 15 minutes a day - this is very important as it helps maintain consistent behavioral traits . I mean, he's still bull headed and reactive, but so much less so! It's VERY important to work with your dog after you return home, but ten minutes a day is not that much. We enrolled our 18 month old husky, Kenai, in Complete K9 Training's total immersive course. We rescued Kenai six months ago, and Complete K9 owner, Heidi, described him as a train wreck, which he was. They did an amazing job! My baby is not a puppy and a rescue so I wasn't sure how she would take to training. Heidi was amazing. She walking me through the process before hand and helped me identify any specific behaviors I wanted to work on that wasn't already a part of the program. On check-out day she took me through everything we talked about before and how my baby did during her 2 weeks. They even gave me a video of her following the commands for reference if I needed it later. She helped me understand what to expect and how I could continue to help my dog master her new skills. She even took me through the process with my dog as well to help talk me through any minute details or habits I seemed inclined to do. She was absolutely wonderful and answered all my questions (and I do tend to talk a lot lol). Since I've had my baby back I can definitely say there has been a massive improvement.
