I'm disappointed with Kaya located at you 6960 Amador Plaza Rd, Dublin store. She is unfriendly and her customer service is bad! When she catches neon fishes for me, she catches the fishes aggressively with the net and shocking them a lot! Overall experience with Kaya at PetSmart is a negative experience! read more

What was supposed to be a fun and relaxing afternoon for our sweet pup turned into an unpleasant and traumatic experience. Our Siberian Husky puppy experienced discrimination based on her breed. When my husband entered the Dublin Amador Plaza Pet smart, he was immediately met with resistance from doggie day camp receptionist Mac. Mac informed my husband that Pet smart could only take our dog until 3:30 based on capacity while the person in front of us did not have prior registration and was met with zero resistance. Mac told us our dog would not have room and would only be in the play area and asked if our dog was capable of handling that. It should be noted that we had already called ahead and booked our appointment until 5:30. Our pup has her puppy training and intermediate training completed from Pet smart. This kind of comment was discriminatory against an active breed of dog as is our Winnie. We were then told if our dog needed to be fed that Mac would only "try" to feed her. The customer behind us kindly offered to share their hotel room with Winnie, but we received confirmation on the phone that Winnie could stay for the duration of the appointment we had booked. 10 minutes later Mac magically found room for Winnie to stay, but at that point we did not feel safe leaving her here. We are disappointed in this experience as we've had great experiences here before. It was obvious that had the customer witness had not addressed and advocated for Winnie that the phone call or room would not have been made. We considered this a safe place for our pup to play and stay in the past. We are sad that we can no longer keep our pup here. read more

The first time I came to petsmart the fish associates were very nice and wanted us to choose the fish we like 5 star. On september the 22 at 4:08 PM 2024 we went to by more fish and guess what there were associates that did not let us choose the fish that we liked and said its only 20 cents you don't get to tell us what to do. I am very disappointed but will give it another chance. Hope the associates are like the first ones and don't give us the patterns of fish we don't like and tell we need to buy them. read more

This review is for Heather C at the grooming salon. My pup has been getting haircuts from Heather since last year and she's AWESOME. She does an excellent job with the haircut and she follows the instructions/requests carefully. She's always super nice and sweet to my pup and my pup loves her. I'm so happy that we've found Heather and we'll definitely stick with her as long as we're in the area. Thank you, Heather! 5 stars all the way. PS-There's only one Heather (C) working at this salon now (I think there used to be two) so the previous Yelp reviews might not be referring to her. read more

I had a scheduled appointment for basic grooming services today for my dog. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, but nobody was at the counter. I waited inside the grooming salon for 15min past my appointment time without anyone coming to the front, despite hearing people casually talking in the back. When I heard a dog in the back repeatedly yelp, I opted to leave with my ungroomed dog and never return. read more

This review is for the Grooming salon and particularly Valencia. She has been fantastic with my puppy. My pup actually enjoys going to see her, which is a testament to Valencia's gentle and skilled approach. The services have always been spot-on, and it's clear that she takes pride in her work. The overall professionalism and care are evident in every visit. I'm very happy with the service and would highly recommend Valencia to other dog/pup owners. read more

Got fish tank, glo fish, fish food, and fish tank ornaments from this place. The associates were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The service was prompt. I should have checked reviews before I came here. If you are buying pets. I recommend visiting a different location. We drove here from Fremont knowing that it was a mail store for rodents, but they also have them in Mountain View and San Jose. Two of the workers were so very nice but they weren't the ones helping us pick our guinea pigs. That happened to be this really disgruntled worker who said that we weren't allowed to interact with the animals until they were already purchased. She also told me that it was company policy even though we just bought a hamster a month ago and they let us put our fingers in the cage to see if any were more curious than others. (We bought a hamster from a different PetSmart that died like one week after the one month guarantee. Which according to Reddit is very common. Petsmart would not confirm a company policy and their employees seem very ambiguous and uneducated on their own policies, but it sounds like that is not actually the company policy unless they're regional manager is telling them different.) Their cages look really clean but they are a PetSmart and they are cramming a bunch of animals into a small space. I try to never buy from pet stores, but the guinea pig breeders I knew of in the area are no longer breeding. The chinchilla cage had a recommended wheel but chinchillas is under a year aren't supposed to have a wheel. Plus they had paper bedding and a plastic hideout that they would eat and that is very bad for chinchillas. They had two baby boys I wanted to take home and they were so friendly through the glass. Ultimately, we ended up getting guinea pigs here but I wanted to bolt out the door and go somewhere else. It's very strange to me to say "well, what if they bite you?" And I'm like guinea pigs are super docile so what are you doing to them so that they're just attacking people? Being able to interact with them is what reassures you that they aren't selling, scared and abused animals. I understand holding them because you could hurt them and no one wants to chase them through the store. read more

Grooming: 5/5! I had my puppy groomed here today 3/24/23 by Valencia who is so sweet. We had an 8am appointment and by 10 she was ready. Valencia made sure Luna was comfortable for her first puppy cut. She worked with my wiggly Luna and met her needs. She looks absolutely adorable. The bad reviews here don't do it justice. I spoke to other pet parents who were waiting for their 8am appointment and they all are happy with Petsmart grooming. I definitely am too! Thank you read more

CORONAVIRUS AVOID! This place isn't safe during coronavirus: the employees and manager don't wear face masks, in spite of CDC recommending it The manager said "the CDC recommends it, but does not require it. Thus I personally won't wear masks, and won't make my employees wear them." This is extremely insensitive given the severity of the virus, and the impact it is having on the community. I won't be coming back - not until employees are wearing masks. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR BOARDING! Grooming was awful. Im a frequent visitor to the Petsmart on Dublin Blvd, but accidentally booked this location. My puppy was left looking like a monster with only his top back and half his legs trimmed. This was actually the second time this happened to me here, and after the first I decided to go further out to east Dublin location. I can hands down confirm it's worth the extra drive, the staff and service are way above average. read more

As noted by others, recently a dog 'escaped' the boarding area and then the store to ultimately be killed on the nearby highway. According to the owner, the store management seemed to minimize her loss. Hard to understand how this could have happened... No matter what, this is unacceptable negligence by store employees and management. I have seen nothing posted on any site by store management explaining what happened, apologizing, and indicating what changes they are implementing to prevent such a thing from occurring in the future. I have actually taken my dog to this store recently for both puppy training and grooming and was happy with both - however what happened to my neighbor is unacceptable and I will no longer be going to this store. read more

This is a review of the PetsHOTEL at this Petsmart location. For over 8 years, we have utilized several Petsmart PetsHotel locations in the Bay Area for our dogs, but we had only had a few 5-star experiences in the past. Recently, we brought our dogs to this location for overnight boarding for the first time and it was our best experience to date. For starters, Christina assisted me with questions over the phone while I was making arrangements and was very helpful. When we showed up with both of our dogs to board, Christina checked us in and went above and beyond our expectations and previous experiences elsewhere. She spent at least 15 minutes with us, gently getting to know our dogs and calm their nerves (both of our dogs are skittish, and one of them is downright suspicious of most strangers). The dogs warmed up to Christina quickly and actually seemed to happy to go off with her to the kennel and play areas. It made us feel at ease leaving them. When we returned 8 days later from our trip, we eyed both of our dogs in the front playroom romping around, smiling and having a grand time. The staff were all friendly and filled us in on our dogs' goings-on while there. I also appreciated having the Banfield Vet Clinic on-site; one of our dogs came down with a bout of diarrhea suddenly and it was immediately handled at the on-site clinic... this was particularly crucial as we were travelling out of the country. Knowing that they were cared for and looked after is invaluable. Thank you Christina and everyone else at the Dublin Amador Plaza PetsHotel! read more

I wanted a betta fish to replace the one who passed after 5 years, so my boyfriend and I decided to check out PetSmart. Coming there, I wanted to see what kind of fish they had. When we got to the fish section, we checked out those little guys. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly a pretty sign. Most of the fish there were all on their side (meaning they're ill). The actual fish container was all icky and dirty. Not to mention there were a few who were actually dead. YES, DEAD!!! I was shocked cause they're supposedly a pet store right? We decided to inform the cashier there. He was distraught at the sight of the poor fish, but he told us that we should tell the Pet Care Expert. We did. Guess what she said? She apologized half-heartedly without any remorse for the fish. Really? Trust me, it gets worse! We even informed her that the fish there are sick. SHE IGNORED US!!! Wow and you're supposed to be the supposed "pet care expert"? Even another guy there overheard the conversation and was shocked. I could NOT have been more disappointed. Trust me, I know my betta fish facts and unfortunately they didn't. Highly disappointed. The little guys always look sick there. If you want to get a healthy betta fish, I suggest Petco. The water is much cleaner, the fish don't have fish rot, and it's a good color. In summary, don't purchase fish here! read more

This update is for the PetsHotel. I'm really peeved after being on hold for over 30minutes listening to the same music on repeat. (Usually some hold services will update you periodically as to what number you are in the queue to give you an idea of how soon your call will be answered -- not here). I was hoping to schedule Gatsby for another overnight weekend stay. I know i was calling with short notice, but a family emergency came up and I have no other options for my little guy. The call was finally answered only for them to tell me they don't have any room to take him. When I asked for the next closest location... they recommended a city not even remotely close to me! Do the people who answer these calls even live in California??? So upset. But of course, it's a big box company that probably won't even respond to this review because they don't care. This why we should all support small & local businesses. Bye Petsmart. read more

This is in regards to a series of training classes my son and I took with Melissa at this location for our young puppy a while back. We found the trainer, Melissa, to be rude and quickly frankly she was a bit racist. She became angry when our dog would not stop barking. I thought that young puppies were supposed to bark and that we as owners and trainers take them to training classes to teach them manners. We tried to opt out of the class after the first session and receive a refund, but store management would not help out. I urge people to do your research and get to know the trainer beforehand. Make sure they are knowledgeable, friendly, understanding and fair. We ended up attending a different training group at another location and are now happy that our puppy is barking less, it happy and has better manners. read more

My sister just adopted the cutest little doggy. So I went with her to show her the ins and outs of what I enjoy for my dog. There isn't a Petsmart near my home. I go to Pet Co. The selection of dog food was large but not very many "Good" options. Just the same old corporate brands. They do carry AvoDerm, which is what I feed my dog. The care and maintenance section wasn't well stocked and the prices are so outrageous. That is why I usually don't shop at these big box stores for basic pet supplies. It was clean and very big and if I need something ASAP I would recommend coming here. read more

I was the second pissed off customer at Petsmart grooming today!!Do not bring your animals here!!! You make appointments and they do not honor them. Had an appointment for later but was called and asked to being my dog in at 8 or 8:30. When i arrived another couple had been turned away because the groomer called in sick. They had traveled over a half hour to get there. I had to wait a while for the other groomer to make phone calls reschedule appointments and when she finally got to me I was told they couldn't bath her cause she got an allergy shot the day before. Totally ridiculous. Do you people at Petsmart understand we have schedules too. I will be looking for another groomer asap. read more

This is for the GROOMING SERVICES!!!!!! Please see the picture I have posted. My Yorkie, Baxter's, tongue was cut when he was getting groomed!!!!!!! He needed STITCHES ON HIS TONGUE!!!!!! My mom and I have been bringing our two dogs, 3 year old Maltese and 12 year old Teachup Yorkie, to this place for grooming and have never had any problems until now! Our 12 year old Yorkie, Baxter, have had all teeth removed after we rescued him and well, his tongue sticks out of his mouth now. While the groomer, MEGAN, was cutting his facial hairs she CUT HIS TONGUE - CUT HIS TONGUE!!! I cannot believe that such a thing could happen! I get that mistakes happen and that accidents could happen BUT this is my baby. He is old and anyone who sees him will know that his tongue just hangs loose! A careless and rushing groomer can be the only excuse for CUTTING HIS TONGUE!! So, I suggest that you request to NOT have this groomer (MEGAN). However, I will say this...Management and Banfield handled the situation with four stars!!!! I would say five but this should have never happened to begin with! Petsmart is paying for all the medical bills and have paid for his lack of a groom and will pay for his follow up groom!...as they should! Although, they did charge my mother for our other dog! I spoke to the grooming management and that should have never happened, a refund is taking place! I feel like they took advantage of my mom (since she doesn't really understand English; she just smiles when she doesn't understand) and charged her; BUT CLEARLY THEIR POLICY IS "IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY!" But thankfully, it is going to be resolved!! I was told that MEGAN has over 10 years of experience...I bet that was the first time she cut a dog's tongue though! Management gets four stars though; if you ever have a grooming problem ask for Tammy!! So my advice, especially, if you're trying this place for the first time...request to NOT have MEGAN!!!! Or if you want to do it inconspicuously...ask who will be grooming your pet!!! read more

The review is for the grooming salon. Poor grooming service and the Team Lead(Natalie) was is SO rude that I no longer feel safe leaving my puppy here with them. If your new groomers (Amanda) need training then train them. They made my puppy scared and when he came out, he was shivering and was terrified. After this incident my puppy is not even letting me touch his face and is not comfortable to clean his face with the wipes, train your groomers or don't hire them. We always think they know what they are doing. But this experience has been very disappointing. read more

Mom and I are visiting up here in the Bay Area and popped into this Petsmart to pick up some food and puppy pads for her puppies. When I'm at home in Bakersfield, I do the majority of shopping for pet supplies at my local Petsmart. I like that Petsmart carries a wide variety of foods, treats, toys, and other supplies for a wide variety of animals from dog and cats to rodents and reptiles to birds and fish. There are bird and reptile cages, aquariums in all sizes, dog beds, and cat climbing structures. This particular Petsmart also carries live animals such as fish, hamsters, parakeets and finches. The store feels very clean and organized and has nice wide aisles. They allow people to bring their pets shopping with them. My yorkie LOVES to go into Petsmart with me as she gets plenty of attention from total strangers. She thinks that this is her due and our obligation. There is a Banfield pet hospital on the premises. We have not used the services at this location, but back home we've visited two different Banfield locations and they were both great. There are also grooming services for dogs on the premises. And if your pet is a real clothes hound, they carry both Martha Stewart's and Tommy Bahama's clothing lines for pets! If you want to buy high quality pet food and supplies, drop into this Petsmart location. read more

This is for the grooming services only... This is the first time that I've taken my Pomeranian to this salon for a cut. Typically it's just for a wash. Let's start with the PROS: The groomers are super nice and friendly. The grooming hours are adequate. Now, onto the cons. Initially, I wasn't going to complain and I planned on leaving a average review. However, the more that in look at my dog, the more ridiculous it becomes. I don't know if the groomer was rushing because she forgot I wanted him a lot shorter than what he came in as. My dogs cut is very choppy. It's not even at all in addition she left more hair on his head than the remainder of his body. The back of his neck doesn't blend in with his body. It's just a really bad cut. LIKE REALLY bad. I don't know if the groomers get paid off commission so I'm not going to make a big stink of it. But, I'm just not happy at all. read more

YOU NEED TO GO HERE!! LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN...GO HERE!! There are so many wonderful qualities about this place...I don't even have room to tell ya...but sure will try. OK, first of all, I've got a cute black lab you have EVER seen :~) We went here to get my dog's nails clipped. ALL the gals were awesome. Ericka was GREAT! She's got a quiet personality and was a stand out when it came to loving on my 4 legged pal. She is really something special. She was courteous to my kids and THAT'S not easy for some people. Jenna WAS FAB!! I just loved the advice she gave me about the dog. She was NOT a KNOW it all because she was quite humble. She even came OUT of the grooming salon and showed us something called a 'Nyala Bone' sp? to help with the gnawing. And then there was TAMI! What a joy. When we tried to give her a gratuity, but she wanted to make SURE the other girls were well taken care of. Does that sound like a good woman or what? She's truly a leader and clearly puts people first! Now, let me tell you about Angie...the cashier! She also has a black lab and gave us all types of help about him. Chew toys, food, etc. She was forthcoming and honest and didn't try to up sell us when we asked about certain brands. What a doll! And finally there's Phil. He's our Instructor! If you need a dog to behave PLEASE talk to Phil. He's the BEST hands down! We attend 'Obedient School' and it WORKS!! My dog is awesome because of Phil. He is wonderful! He really knows everything. HOWEVER, he doesn't come across as a KNOW it all and I think that's the BEST part. Phil is a true find and my family is happy to have found him! read more

Fish department: some tanks had dead fish and feeder fish tanks at the bottom were gross. However, the woman who helped me was fairly knowledgable. Also, in the female guppy tanks, there were newborn fry, which meant the fish in that tank were relaxed and happy enough to reproduce, which is a very positive sign. Good selection of tank decor, medicine, and food. Tarantula/Scorpion: hmm. Cages are extremely small. I'm not an expert, but it seems like they would need more than four inches of real estate. Grooming Department: based on the reviews, I would never take my dogs here. I'd be legitimately scared to bring my dogs here. The reviews stating dogs were severely injured by unapologetic employees here make me sick to my stomach, and make me hesitant to spend any money here, even outside of the grooming department. read more

My Review is for the grooming department. I have a poodle mix and have been getting my dog groomed here for over a year. Although it is not the closest groomer I continue to go because they take such good care of my dog. Both Heathers working here are amazing with my dog. He is a little timid of being groomed, but they really seem to care about his comfort. I go to this location all the time for pet supplies and nail clippings for all of my dogs. The staff is always friendly, but the grooming crew can never get their scheduling right. They are extremely friendly whenever I'm there, but they just are never available. The last 3 times they turned us down because they were closing early due to being short staffed. This last time T they said they were closing the grooming at 7 when I arrived at 6:11, and when the store closed at 9. And this is the location my dogs can tolerate. It seems as though the stars must align in order to get service. I'd recommend this store for everything else but the grooming department. read more
