What a sh*t show; I struggled to keep an appointment I had made two weeks ago even though my wife had groomed our two dogs just prior to the appointment. Not wanting to cancel the appointment, I arrived on time only to be informed that the scheduled groomer had an emergency. No call?? No nothing?? I left and will never return. That kind of service will get you exactly whar you deserve. read more

Thank you for being rude to me PetSmart staff, you saved me twenty dollars! High school kids working in fast food are more professional than the staff at PetSmart. These people are indifferent, rude, pretend they don't hear a customer ask a question so it must be asked twice and their replies are smug as though they had to be forced to get out of bed then forced to leave their homes and come to work. But I was lucky to be treated that way. I left and went to King Soopers where the product I went into PetSmart for (and I was going to purchase two of those items) that cost nearly 15.00 each was priced at King's for 5 bucks each. The staff's behavior reflect they don't respect their management so it would require decision makers from the regional/ HQ level to send secret shoppers to this location before any real improvements could be made. read more

Review is for floor staff and check out personal. Very friendly staff and helpful when needed. I buy dog food and aquatic supplies from here. Aquatic supplies not also plentiful but its not bad. Also did puppy training and advanced training here with my pooch. Really helpful and lots of bang for your buck. Loved to be in class. Not sure about any grooming or pet hospital services here but everything else is up to my standards. read more

The location is very convenient and you don't have to work your way through that through that congested mall area. They have a salon and the Banfield in back but no hotel, which honestly is fine. The staff is nice, but like everywhere else they are understaffed. They are challenged by customers who let their dogs P on everything without bothering to clean up after them. The one night I was there, there was a family wheeling around their large puppy in a cart while it urinated up and down two full aisles and just provided a chuckling sorry to the employee who had to mop the entire area due to their thoughtless actions. They also are suffering supply issues like every other store. That doesn't prevent people from griping to the short staffed store as if they have a hand in the global supply chain issues that the pandemic has caused. The national coin shortage goes un-noticed by it's customers as they routinely are in there paying their $6.03 charge with $100.00 bills and claim to have no change. Theft is rife within the store as with the current Colorado prosecutors attitudes and those of the corporate chains themselves, people routinely load up carts or their own bags and walk right out the store. The employees may say something but they can't do anything due to store policy. There is no guards. What's to prevent you the dear reader of this from doing this yourself? Nothing. Cops do nothing, the store does nothing and you end up wondering why you're standing in the long line to pay for something you could simply walk out with. The employees are few and overworked as in any retail environment. Sometimes at night there's only 2 of them and lines can get long especially when you're behind a cat person who didn't bother to organize their 100 cans of food or are returning a cart of canned food because their pet didn't like it. Honestly if you can't tell by now, I have more of an issue with the people who shop this store than the store itself because I'm in there often and witness this behavior first hand. If you go there, don't be a jerk. They're stocking as soon as things come in and doing their best to serve the community. You as customers should do your part. You will be treated well at this store. read more

I came here for the first time to get my Golden bathed. I told them she had gotten sick in her kennel and smelled really bad. When I picked her up and paid $35 for a bath realize she still smelled bad. I didn't even want to try to ask them to re-bathe her because obviously did so well the first time. I took my dog to a self-wash facility and I gave her a bath for $12 and she smells as good as new...what does that say about their experience there? read more

I really like this location and the the staff here. The staff were very knowledgeable (in the fish department in my case) and helped me find some materials to help my fish live longer. I ended walking out with a bunch of items including some treats for our dog. They have great deals on their items as well! They're selection is great with brands that I feel are top products. Now I have a happy fish and a happy dog! read more

There's a certain small standard that I have for huge chain retail stores. The store must be stocked, clean, good prices, and a knowledgeable or at the very least pleasant staff. This Petsmart location is lacking all of those things. We walked in and there was a doggy accident sitting on the floor in between isles. We assumed this must have just happened and would be cleaned up immediately (especially since pet stores must be used to this).... We stepped over it and headed for the cat food. Not only did the prices go up, the adult cat food is never on sale and I can't feed my cats kitten food forever. Regardless, they were out of the food I needed. We worked our way to the filters for our spoiled cat's water fountain and they were out of those too. When all needed things are not in stock we head to the toys. On the way to the toy isle we saw the doggy accident was still not cleaned up and someone had even rolled a cart through it and kept going. I found a staff member and pointed it out to her just as a friendly heads up, and she merely nodded and walked away. Again, we assumed it would be cleaned up. Three strikes you're out Petsmart, you were even out of the toys my cats like. On our sad empty handed way out we noticed the droppings had still not been cleaned up. We will not ever be returning here. read more

Run of the mill PetSmart if you ask me. Convenient for everything pet related. Nothing overly special, nice people, good variety of merchandise, and your able to walk your pets in. I love being able to walk in with my dog and do some treat shopping. read more

They usually have what I need - the staff is helpful but not overbearing and with PetPerks I can usually get a good price. Plus I get a kick out of all the critters walking around. Overall a good shopping experience. read more

Giant chain without the benefits of a giant chain. At least the one in Lakewood is gigantic and so has good selection. This store seems big but I wasn't impressed with the selection at all, and everything is severely overpriced. Dog beds in particular are of very low quality, $50 for an egg crate with a pillow case over it, basically. read more

I waited forever for assistance. The fish I got had lice in them, and dead fish were in their tanks. The goldfish are $6 each and they have LICE+DEAD FISH in the tank? There's really no reason to pick this store above anything else. If you guys want to stay in business, you'll tend to your livestock better and hire more assistants. Maybe lower your prices a bit and train your livestock workers to not suck. I am not going back here. read more

RUN FOR THE HILLS!! When I first began patronizing PetSmart grooming, they were reasonably priced, convenient and caring. Over the years, the turnover of groomers has become faster and faster....not a good sign. Seems like they get the folks fresh from their certificate and don't really know what they're doing. This is true in the 3 I visited...Boulder, Stapleton and the one near Yale. My last visit my dog was chopped, not groomed and I was told that breed is difficult to cut...which is a crock! I truly believe that an earlier visit my dog (who is a very mellow poodle terrier mix)..a real love bucket...was dropped because he suddenly started having back problems...hesitated to jump or run. Obviously there is no way to prove it. It is no longer reasonably priced and I don't care how convenient it is, they won't see us anymore and if you love your dog, you won't go either! read more

Okay, guys. DO NOT take your pet to the grooming services here. I took my little 1 yr old dog here one afternoon and they spent 3 hours on him before the called and said I had to come pick him up because he was squirmy and the employee was "tired". I had to bring him in the next day and after 45 minutes, I got another call saying that they simply could NOT finish grooming my puppy and I had to come pick him up. They gave my dog the grossest haircut, didn't even bathe him or anything and I STILL had to PAY for it! My dog has been groomed other places with no complaint so it really doesn't make any sense to me. Please don't go here. read more

I went to PetSmart looking for fish supplies. I'd just won one of those fair fish and had no idea what kind of fish it was or how to take care of it. Natasha was super helpful in identifying my fish then helping me pick out all the proper equipment I needed to take care of him. Amazing service and very helpful smart workers. read more

My dog loves this place! The staff are very nice and helpful when we have questions and the groomers there are also fantastic =)

Dario is a great asset to this place. We stopped shopping here because of an other manager. Now Dario is here and he is great! He remembers us everytime, is helpful and always makes our experience better. read more

A friend took her dog to the Pet Smart on Quebec (Stapleton Store) to be groomed. He was then groomed by the Head Groomer at this location. The dog is a "Sniffon" so he is kinda furry. She proceeded to shave the dog down to his skin including all of the fur around his face and even his whiskers which tells me that she doesn't know how to groom dogs based on their breeds. She shaved him and cut his tail in the process but said nothing about having cut his tail when my friend's daughters picked him up. They refused to take the dog when they saw him because they thought it was a different dog. He looked like an over sized Chihuahua when she was done with him. They finally took the dog home and he was completely traumatized and cowering in the corner. My friend didn't even recognize her dog and with the way he was cowering and wouldn't come to her she thought it was another dog too. Then she noticed that his tail was cut and he was bleeding. He was whimpering in pain. My friend doesn't speak English so I went with her back to Pet Smart and spoke with the Manager and the Groomer who both said it was an accident and apologized profusely and had their vet see him free of charge. They gave her an antibiotic cream, antibiotics pills, and pain pills for the dog. The dog would have definitely screamed out in pain when she cut him and apparently she felt so bad that she couldn't be bothered to have the vet 10 feet away treat the dog. Instead she said nothing when they picked up the dog hoping they wouldn't notice. I was absolutely livid and told the manager that if she doesn't know how to groom dogs than she shouldn't be doing it. Hurting an animal and covering it up is just about the worst thing you can do. Ultimately I demanded a refund for her and got it but I still have a problem with the fact that the groomer could look me straight in the eye and tell me it was an accident and she felt bad about it. read more

This store is ridiculous. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, it's close to our house and convenient. But EVERY time I go there or call I get the same lazy, unprofessional attitude. Hey, I don't care if you'd rather be anywhere else, the fact is, you are working here. Try to at least be helpful. I am not looking for overenthusiastic exuberance...I get it, you work at a big box store--but maybe something above blatant ambivalence. If you call to make a grooming appointment you will get put on hold for the maximum amount of time you can handle, and JUST before you hang up, they will come back to the line. If you go to the store, plan on standing in line FOREVER. I swear they never have more than 1 cashier working the registers. I seriously hate this place. read more

Never returning to the Colorado Blvd location! manager- Daniel V. groomer- Collen M. BEWARE PETS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS! I scheduled a grooming appt for my Labrador. It was cancelled the morning of the appt . because someone had called in sick( fine, I understand it happens). When I tried to drop him off for his "new" appt. (the following week), the woman (groomer) was very rude and complained that the appt. should have never been scheduled (Memorial Day). Why am I am having to listen to this?? I didn't make the schedule. I don't want to hear about what shouldn't have been scheduled, I was simply trying to get my dog in for a haircut. She continues to rant about how she is against Labradors getting their hair cut...blah blah. I explained that he has longer & thicker hair than an average Labrador; he gets very uncomfortable in the summer months... I have been getting his haircut for years. I have never had someone tell me that I shouldn't do so. I am well aware of the precautions I have to take when his hair is cut shorter (He is an indoor dog). Not only did I have to deal with her rude treatment, but then she refused to cut his hair because my dog can't stand for a long period of time. He has a back weak leg (has had it for years). What gets me is that I have been to other Petsmart locations and they have always been very patient with him (worked around it). I believe that this groomer is lazy and was looking for a reason not to do it. I spoke to the manager and explained my past experience with other Petsmart locations (weak leg has never been an issue) and he actually agreed with the groomer. I felt like my dog was discriminated against because of his handicap. Don't go to Petsmart if you have a pet with special needs. They just don't care! I ended up going to a local groomer(Gidget's Grooming on Pearl Street) They didn't find his weak leg to be an issue. They actually did a much better job than Petsmart ever did and their customer service was A+. read more

Disgrace!! This store is filthy! Our dog got fleas after simply walking around the store! We brought him in to shop, and the next day he was scratching so bad we took him to the vet. We went back to Petsmart and talked to Jen the manager who apologized and said they had been having problems with this!!! What??!! How can we feel safe to bring our animal in!! And the fact that you knew and didn't post anything is terrible!! She was cocky and arrogant about it when we questioned her. Do NOT GO here!!! read more

Excellent, friendly service! Generally, I'm a critic of most establishments, but this Stapleton store sets the platinum standard for service and selection. It's refreshing to walk into this store with a question and immediately receive all the assistance a pet owner needs. read more

Great store manager ,Josh completed a return and listens to customer feedback when in regards of his employees as we'll as groomers. This is the only Petsmart that did not give my dog a worthless furminator dog style. They listened and now my dog has nit shed in five weeks Thanks Josh and Groomers read more

I took in my longcoat Akita who needed to be shaved for matting. She seemed so much cooler and more comfortable and cleaner I decided to continue the process. Two years later, I noticed that her fur is patchy and like velcro . I Googled the problem and to my dismay discovered that you NEVER shave down a double coated dog. Their fur does NOT GROW back. If Google knows this, why didn't the "pros" who do this for a living inform me that this is just NOT done. EVER??????????? Granted, as a dog owner, I should have been more informed, but in reality, how many people know this without being informed of the consequence? It is still my choice, but as a consumer working with a so called professional, I expect to be able to make an INFORMED choice. This is just ineptitude on the part of any groomer. I'm stuck with a mess. The poor animal will never be shaved down again for any reason. I guess we all should be glad that these folks are not working in human health care where not discussing procedures can end in disaster. Any Double coated animal should NEVER be shaved..... EVER..... I guess you get what you pay for, or on the other hand... you cant instill a conscience into someone who doesn't give a damn what sort of product they sell . read more

The customer service in this store is horrible in general. One or two good clerks but the rest have attitudes at doing their job and management has nothing but excuses when asking for assistance. I spend about $1000/month in pet food. I have difficulty getting them to order additional bags - they tell me it will take 6-8 weeks everytime I place the order and never get the food. Other Petsmarts tell me "no problem. It will be her Thursday..." etc. In addition, bought a collar for a puppy and forgot it in the cart when I loaded my car. I called immediately and spoke with the store manager. He said he checked the carts and didn't see it. He basically said I was just out of luck since I lost the collar. I'm not looking for free stuff, but seriously?? What is one collar for good customer service to a customer who literally spends thousands a year in your store? So now I will go to the glendale or Aurora stores, even though they are substantially out of my way. Apparenlty this store doesn't care enough to keep my business. read more
