I've been taking my dogs to PetSmart grooming since I got them 13 years ago and have never had an experience as awful as today. I normally go to the Glendale or Lakewood locations but this was the only store with availability (should have been a red flag) so I went ahead and took them to see Kelsey. From start to finish, the staff was rude, unprofessional, and completely uninterested in customer service/satisfaction. As a side note plan to get there late since the groomer has to be the one to check you in and isn't available until at or after your appointment time. While doing the hands-on assessment, I was the first one to point out that one of my dogs' tails was ratted up and needed shaved but not a severe matte by any means. This was about a half an inch section mind you this dog is 6 pounds so we're not talking a large surface area. She went ahead and took the dogs back then came up to have me sign the paperwork and mentioned two additional fees, the first being a $10 dematting fee and the other being a $10 fee because there was a previous note that my dog didn't like his nails, clipped or glands expressed which is a behavioral fee. I clarified asking if I would still be charged the matte fee if she was able to just shave the tail and Kelsey confirmed it would be charged regardless. When I went to pick up my dogs, I had walked back to the salon first where she was still working on one of them. By the time I had walked up front to pay the bill and back she told me that she couldn't find a muzzle big enough for his face and even when somebody else tried to hold him, she wasn't able to clip any of his nails, but I was still charged the $10 behavioral fee. I went ahead and paid these additional fees because I wasn't trying to ask for a refund or discount. I did, however, asked to talk to a manager. At that time, a younger gentleman with longer hair came up to me where I expressed that I felt like they were adding these additional charges when I didn't even get those services. He stated that anything over 15 minutes for a matte is required charge and even if one person has to help hold the dog they charge you the extra $10. To me this math is not mathing...there is no way a 1 inch mat on my dog's tail, that was shaved, took more than 30 minutes to clear off considering she was finished with both of my dogs in two hours. And nobody was holding my dog for her more than five minutes while I paid the bill so they are making $10 every five minutes? We will not be back and I suggest Looking to get their dog room save yourself an extra bogus charge and just go to a different location. Also don't forget there is a satisfaction guarantee that PetSmart provides and I am 0% satisfied. read more

AVOID This place !!!! My family brought their dog here and they butchered him. They cut his hair so short they cut him several times under his chin which we did not see till we got him home. This has led him to bleeding and scabs. He is in so much pain. We called to let them know and they are claiming ZERO Responsibility. Who does that? What HORRIBLE management and customer service. I just walked in for afew things and Becca introduced me to the petsmart app, I was adamant about it, everyone has an app these days, but she sold it up pretty quick and was even able to get my points on my current purchase, I never really think about using apps but this one is a solid one. In general this store is always quick and friendly, I've even had someone request a refill on my crickets cause they'd deflated while I had been holding other items. Just generally a courteous store, very nice people and products have never caused me a problem :) read more

If I could give a -10 rating I would! AVOID at all cost! Last time I used the grooming service, my dog was not ready until he had been at the store for 7 hours! I was told someone called in sick and so they ran behind. I think because he was well behaved they kept him crated until they cleared out their back log. His grooming left a bit to be desired. I was told he was ready and they rushed finishing him off as I waited another half hour in the store. (BTW I was told he was good and his coat was in excellent condition.) Take 2 - my dog is a mixed breed but looks mostly like a Shih Tzu. I brush & comb him DAILY!!! He was dropped off for grooming last week and when my son picked him up, the groomer told him that they could not give him the cut I requested because he was "matted" UNTRUE! Someone messed up and they had the audacity to blame me. Not only was his shave inconsistent, there were bare spots shaved into his coat. There were longer hair clumps throughout his body. His tail was shaved!!! (In 25 years of owning Shih Tzus NO ONE HAS EVERY SHAVED A TAIL!!!) Also whatever happened during his visit has negatively impacted my dog. It's taken 4 days for him to start acting normally again. Poor thing is a rescue and I can only assume his visit was another traumatic experience. Shame on you! I groomed my Shih Tzus during Covid and did a substantially better job than these incompetent clowns that I paid extra for services and tipped on top for a substandard job. Admit when you make a mistake but NEVER blame the customer for your substandard performance! Not only have you lost my grooming business, I'll happily look elsewhere for pet supplies. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Do not take your dog to get his hair cut. They treated my dog horrible and did not complete his haircut. Before making the appointment I informed them that my dog is not the best with getting his hair cut due to an accident he had. He might not stay still and they will need a muzzle to be safe. The lady not only accepted but she said they are experienced. As a dog mom I felt relieved that she accepted. On 5/1/2022 his appointment day I repeated the same information before his cut and the lady reassured me it was going to be good. One hour later Kelly the groomer called and told me to go for my dog that she can not continue with his haircut and that he had to many breaks. SHE LEFT MY DOG LOOKING HORRIBLE!!! Petsmart saved the day today, twice. I stopped by my usual pet food supply store this morning to find that they were unexpectedly closed (temporarily) for maintenance. So I had to turn around and drive the other way up to Stapleton from City Park to get cat food. Yes, I waited until we were completely out so it couldn't wait. After 3 years of struggling to find a cat food that my Norwegian Forest Cat is happy with, I'm glad that we found his perfect match here! Grain free, natural and perfect for his growth and dietary needs! Sweet! The store is clean and organized and the staff is very friendly and helpful ..... HOWEVER.... I don't like being held up by two employees chatting at the checkout with each other about other staff or store operations. Let me get my stuff and then you two can talk. I also am not a morning person and there is a short woman with glasses who is always there in the morning on Friday and she's sooooo loud! She tries to talk to me like I'm her best friend, does this extra small talk that is so not necessary and she doesn't realize that I don't enjoy this interaction with her. I'm usually in a hurry and half asleep so getting a full dose of her is just about enough to put me over the edge for the whole day! Being nice and helpful is great, but be self aware. For at least a mile or two, even when we arrive from a different route, my dog seems to know we are heading towards his favorite place. He begins to pace back and forth on the back seat of the car, stick his head out even further, and cry!! He sounds like he is saying..."please can we go?please, please?" heehee This is my dog Blackberry's favorite Petsmart location. He loves finding the odd treat that has fallen out of a bag on the floor underneath of all of the displays. He climbs as far under as physically possible. He also jumps up and positions his head right by the treat bowl at the register waiting patiently, and showing off his eyes. One time he even ran back in, when he was getting ready to jump into the car. He ran up to the doors, waited for them to open automatically, and went back to the salesperson at the register who had just given him a treat! Plentiful parking, usually nice staff... today the only weird thing was that they had puppies on sale that were half pitt bull...um...aren't they illegal in Denver? read more

PetSmart Stapleton 7505 E 35th Ave Bldg 3 Unit 3 Denver, CO 80238 303-393-9156 As a grooming customer I was allowed early admission this morning at 7:00a,m .. this is common because the grooming dept starts scheduling customers 2 hours before the actual 'doors' open to the public at 9:00am. .. the Banfield Vet Clinic also takes appts at 7am .. if you're headed to the groomer or vets, you have to press an entry button and someone eventually comes and unlocks everything manually by prying the electronic doors open with his/ her hands. People then proceed to the very back of the store with their pets in tow. .. I've done this several times in the past and didn't think much of it. After being let in today, I noticed the manager closed the doors behind us (again manually) and locked them . It made me a tad uncomfortable (I'm a former cop), but not enough for me to make an issue of it. Having checked my dogs in with the groomer, I proceeded to walk back to the front of the store so that I could jump in my car and leave for my 7:45am appt. However, the doors were still locked .. I tried opening them every way I could think of with no luck. Now I'm literally by myself in this big store .. the groomer has disappeared, the manager has disappeared and the stock person has disappeared. Checking all the offices and finding no one, I went back to the front and started asking for help in a loud voice. 'will someone let me out please" .. " this went on for 5 mins .. finally a Banfield employee felt sorry for me and we both struggled with it ..bit the lock was still jammed from inside. Now here's where it gets worse -- the manager showed up and also was unable to open the doors. She told me if I had some kind of emergency that I should leave via the fire exit at the back of the store. However, every time I turned down an aisle to get there, I was blocked by huge pallets of dog food and forklifts . .. When I finally made my way through the obstacle course and pushed the emergency exit, there was no alarm of any kind like you would hope to hear. I've spoken to someone in corporate at PetSmart .. they have reviewed the case and now have the audacity to say that the store was in complete compliance with ordinances/ codes. The local manager is now lying .. she says the door was wide open the whole time; however, she was the one who sent me running to the fire exit. I understand from corporate that there is video of this entire 15 minute incident. .. so it will show my struggle trying to leave the business Thanks so much Dennis for hearing me out .. I'd give zero stars if I could. We were told manager would call; we waited three days; he never called. Then when my husband went in, the manager was totally unhelpful, refused to honor their trainer warranty or give us back our money for the class we didn't take and basically accused me of lying when I repeated what his trainer told us to do. They clearly do not care at all about customer satisfaction. I used to come here to buy treats, beds, furniture and other items for my cats and dogs and birds. No more. I have taken my big black dogs to Petsmart Stapleton and the Groomery for years for grooming. Today Kelley, the grooming manager at Stapleton and someone else identified as the Assistant Store Manager refused to groom my dog's body w/o grooming his head. She insisted and so did the Assistant Store Manager that Petsmart has a written corporate rule which is not available for customer review (I asked several times to see the rule) that compels Petsmart groomers to always groom dogs heads each time, no exceptions., no matter what. I left the Stapleton Petsmart and called Petsmart Alameda from the Stapleton parking lot and spoke to groomer, Maria. Maria explained that there is in fact no Petsmart policy regarding wether or not to wash and groom canine heads. She said that would be up to each groomer. Next, I spoke to grooming manager Natacia at Petsmart Wadsworth and she agreed that there is no such corporate canine head bathing rule. Stay away from the shoddy, fake news, hacks at Stapleton. If they can't figure out their own secret policies then don't let them near your pet w/any sharp object. It might be dangerous to your pet's health and well being. P-U. They stink read more

Do not go here for grooming!!! We've taken our pooch here several times for grooming services and you never know what you're going to get, once in a while he looks "ok" but usually it's whacky & we end up trimming & praying he'll "grow out" soon. Then we took a road trip to KS where our poor guy picked up fleas so we checked and yes they do flea baths so I brought him. My husband went to pick him up---like 5 hours later---how does it take them 5 hours to bathe a dog!? Got him home and I started looking him over and he still had fleas! I called and the groomers were like "what" "really"?! (during his grooming we'd had our house & vehicle fumigated---waste of money! They put me on the phone with the manager who said he couldn't refund me yet because "the new guy" had bathed him & he thought it was simply a quality control issue so we could bring him back. We took him back for flea bath #2--the manager swore there would not be a flea on him after. After picking him up from bath #2---more fleas! The best part is as we were there at the store checking him for fleas the groomer who bathed him said "yeah I probably didn't do a real thorough job". I called on a Sunday at 8:30 AM about grooming and they were able to get both of my shih-tzus in for a cut and wash by 9:30. Lea came out and chatted with me about my preferences and how to keep the dogs comfortable. I really appreciate that extra 10 minutes of attention. They were super busy. It took a little longer than expected (5 hours for both dogs), but Lea let me know in advance that that might be the case. $52/dog. Really pleased with my experience. read more

I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed about my experience today at Petsmart. I arrived early to drop my dog Lucy off for her 12:30 grooming appointment. I went to check her in I was told that her appointment was canceled because the groomer was out for 2 weeks. I was not informed of the cancellation prior to my appointment and the grooming staff suggested that I had put in a incorrect contact information for my account. Not only did they try to blame me for their mistake, but they did not apologize, and just tried to reschedule her appointment. As I was waking out of Petsmart, I got the text message and email notification that Lucy's appointment had been canceled, further proving that they neglected to inform me of the cancellation prior to the time of the appointment. The way i was treated was incredibly unprofessional. Covid-19 is no excuse for the way they handled this situation, it was clearly easy enough for them to notify me that they were cancelling the appointment as they did it right as I was leaving Petsmart. read more

Okay, so I love good bargains and Petsmart offers a great deal on pet grooming. I send my dog to a high end groomer every so often but between the high end groomer trips I send my little gem to Petsmart for a touch-up. I have one of those high maintenance poodles, Petsmart does a great job with her. Their "Top Dog" treatment does wonders for Maya and wonders on my pocket book too. Maya always comes home smelling and looking great. Petsmart recognizes her the second we walk in and always compliments her behavior. I feel confident that they treat her well while she is there. They've always done well trimming her hair too, I have no complaints. We'll keep going back. read more

Pet smart - it is what it is. It is the closest pet store to our house. We don't get our food here (i get it shipped from an online store). We come here for the random stuff, airline carriers, hiking booties, water dishes... The staff was helpful while we were sitting on the floor with the pups attempting to size the carriers and suggested thurnder shirts and the herbal drops we already had. I witnessed the heavy set male Groomer mistreat a Bassett Hound just 2 weeks ago, the groomer lost his cool and threw a tantrum because the hound didn't want his nails clipped.. Lois is awesome and always helps me and my dog find what we need for years now. I have gotten a few of my animals here fish, cat, and many other supplies and have always had awesome experiences. Their are times you may have to wait as they are understaffed or super busy but this is the case at any store. The employees always do the best they can and have amazing customer service skills as some customers here can be a little rough on them even though they go way above and beyond what they are paid for. They are also very good at price matching as sometimes I find things cheaper but I prefer going here. read more

Plus, this location appears to be the prissy location because they close earlier than other locations for some absurd reason. Thank you for being rude to me PetSmart staff, you saved me twenty dollars! High school kids working in fast food are more professional than the staff at PetSmart. These people are indifferent, rude, pretend they don't hear a customer ask a question so it must be asked twice and their replies are smug as though they had to be forced to get out of bed then forced to leave their homes and come to work. But I was lucky to be treated that way. I left and went to King Soopers where the product I went into PetSmart for (and I was going to purchase two of those items) that cost nearly 15.00 each was priced at King's for 5 bucks each. The staff's behavior reflect they don't respect their management so it would require decision makers from the regional/ HQ level to send secret shoppers to this location before any real improvements could be made. read more
