I absolutely LOVE this PetSmart. I recently moved and have been coming here to get our dog (German Shepard, and a Japanese Chin) food. I always am greeted with a warm hello and welcome to petsmart as soon as I walk in. I love the assortment of food and products so I can try a little bit of everything. I also enjoy the sales which seem to be quite frequent! My main reason I am writing review is for the grooming. My Japanese chin gets groomed maybe four times a year so he is a seasoned veteran of grooming. My German Shepard is short haired so it was her first time getting a bath and brush and they were so happy after the fact! I have never had my dogs look happy after a grooming! Also, seeing the groomers treat my dogs so warmly made me feel like a really happy dog mom. I love Laura and Sarah C and will definitely come back! Thank you so much for such a great experience!! read more

Workers here are pretty rude, I asked an old lady with white hair, if she can help me with the restrooms since they don't give out the code and she ignored me, so I asked her again and was like I'm actually helping someone after I'll help you and goes help a lady get a fish, when she was actually stocking not helping anyone. So she took a long time, talking to the lady, chopping it up with the lady, while my wife was holding it because she wants to take forever, I go to another employee I seen and he says it's out of order . . Then when I said it wasn't for me, it was for my wife, he switches up and says oh . .and goes and opens the door for her. They need to work on their customer service . read more

So it's been awhile since I brought my dog here for grooming, but before the last visit he was fine with grooming. I've taken him 3 times, he's only a little over a year. To be honest, he didn't enjoy home grooming, but he'd tolerate it and be calm. He'd be uncomfortable in the beginning, but give in completely if you're calm and patient. The girl last time said they had problems and he acted super scared afterward. Would barely let us tough him. Now he won't even let me close to him when I try to trim his nails, brush his teeth, bathe him(even suing waterless shampoo), or brush him. And he's the most calm, loving puppy with everything else. read more

I always come here when I need some supplies for my fish tank, today I walked in and was looking for some shrimps to add to my aquarium, the young lady with red hair was absolutely tremendous and even helped me choose the right ones, she was very friendly and charismatic, She is definitely the number 1 reason I will go back. She deserves way more recognition than she probably gets, overall she made me feel welcome, at home and wanting to continue shopping there. Thank you so much! read more

Went in to buy a dog house for a new, second dog we received. The staff were super helpful over the phone and also said they would price match competitor's prices. They offer a discount of 5% if you order online and pick up in store but my main reason for this review is the staff. The manager who helped us with the dog house was great. He showed us options as well as accessories they offered. The girl at the register was friendly and energetic seemingly loving her job. A++ for this store! Truly made us feel welcome like a small, local store. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Completely terrible customer service from the staff to the managers. They're inconsistent with their prices and their attitudes are terrible. Definitely need a change in staff and management as well as immediate training. In addition, Everytime I pick up my dogs they're never fully dry and completely damp. Very annoying. Worked out for me however because due to my last terrible experience it forced me to look elsewhere and I found a more affordable location that does a way better job with amazing customer service. read more

I always come to get my puppy his treats & recently there was a deal spend $50 or more and get a $10 gift card/coupon back. Apparently Courtney the "manager" couldn't do anything because it didn't match the account. I only have one account & it's never been used it started on the 10th. Courtney if your reading this learn better management skills, look up transactions for proof that it hasn't been used by that account, don't be rude and brush it off that's your job to fix it & maybe learn more training in management for future references. Everyone else was very kind and nice but call for back up the line was almost to the last row while everyone walked around with no customer. Do better, poor management. read more

I have been here twice in the last 2 weeks and both times the checkout line had 20+ people in it. I understand things are different right now but this location is not practicing good social distancing, to have 4 check stands and only one open is unacceptable , there were several (6 or 7)employees gathering carts and doing other minimal tasks who could have easily opened another check stand , I don't know what's going on here but if it will take me 45 minutes for one bag of food I will not be visiting this location again. read more

Charlotte NC Pet smart on Independence Blvd. Recently purchased over $50.00 worth of dog food as usual and have written down a coupon offer l received in email for $5.00 off...not a lot, right? Cashier couldn't figure out how to process, even though l explained how, because it had been done before under previous management..just let in my rewards number, then rewards number, that's all. She called manager over (manager about 2 years now) and m The manager Shannon said she couldn't honor coupon. When l asked why, always honored in past, she said she had to put something in register to support discount...lol yet could scan it from an iPhone (don't have one). Soo, what exactly do you put in register to support discount when an iPhone is used? Stupid answer.... Needless to say, district manager never responded to me regarding this situation so my business has gone elsewhere...probably won't hurt pet smart but other people will read this and have second thoughts at least. Also, no more business from my daughter's not my sister...all told, nine dogs getting their food elsewhere....so l ask you, was $5.00 worth the loss of some $150.00? What's that old saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush? Goodbye, petsmart.... read more

I purchased a pet pillow that had 27 x 36 marked on it, which is the correct size I needed I purchased it and had a $10 reward that the cashier asked if I wanted to use on the pet pillow. Said yes. Got it home--not 27 x 36. Was 23 wide instead and also not 36. As it needed to fit correctly on the "Bed" we purchased, this did not work. Took it back the next day--PETSMART--kept the $10 reward. Did not matter that the pillow was not the size it said on the cover--did not matter that I have been shopping at the Nellis and Charleston store for over 20 years. The cashier said that was Petsmart's policy and I forfeited the reward.. No going back unless the take care of this. read more

Been to this location a couple times for frozen mice. This location is always tidy and organized, the staff has been consistently friendly, and whether they are slammed or slow they work hard to keep the line moving. I have 2 older toy yorkie brothers who are already very full of anxiety and stress out easily... So I made at least 4 calls to this groomer and asked several questions, even set up our pet profile before agreeing to make an appt. When the day came to bring my 2 dogs in, I waited at least 5-10 mins before anyone answered the bell... once the person started helping me, she added more fees on top of all of the normal pet grooming fees. I am not new at taking dogs to groomers, as I have 2 yorkies who are 14 years old and have always been groomed. Just thought I would try this one as I got a coupon on the receipt from purchasing dog food earlier that week. The woman continued to question me and make changes to the profiles that were already set up. Said it would be $15 each dog to file their nails... Once she asked about the dogs possibly having seizures, she said it would cost an additional $15 per dog and I would have to be there while they get groomed... and they would not be able to groom them the same day. So the original $57 per dog fee went up to almost $90 a dog! Mind you, these yorkies are maybe 5 pounds each... this woman clearly did not want to groom my dogs, so she kept hiking up the price. At rhis point my 2 pups were already filled with anxiety and I was getting frustrated so we chose to leave and not bother with Petsmart grooming. I ended up calling the guy who usually grooms my dogs and he was able to get them right in. I do not recommend bothering with Petsmart grooming . read more

I almost NEVER review any place but these place is the worst! If there was half a star I would give it...Worst experience ever, no trained groomers. First time I brought my Pup, they said she wasn't up to date with her rabies ..ok, got that fixed waited for another appointment for 2 weeks!!! only to get there and be told, your dog needs a hair cut, and the only person who can do that is fully booked, make another appointment..but we can buff her nails..like wtf??, how do you pose as a dog grooming business and no one is qualified to trim dog hair...a part of grooming!!!...I was trying to find a place closer to home but I'll gladly drive to Paws at Main 1million times. read more

I went to go drop off my one dog and due to her rabies vaccine info being written on a carbon copy they wouldn't accept it and refused to groom my dog. Brought my Great Pyrenees in to see Brandon. She is 3 years old and never been to a groomer- I always took care of her myself until I injured my wrists and need surgery. She is the light of my life. I was nervous. In the first 30 seconds of meeting Brandon I felt at ease. He went right up to her and doted on her. She loved him right away. When we picked her up- she was relaxed and happy. She didn't stress and Brandon gave me a full report on how sweet she was and that she was great to work on. I'm completely satisfied with not only her grooming but how stress free her experience was. I found our groomer and will be returning on a regular basis. Very happy customer! Brandon is a blessing! read more

We brought our dog here to get groomed and they wouldn't cut his nails or trim him and didn't tell me until three hours later when we picked him up that they only gave him a bath. They seemed very busy and it seemed like they were trying to rush us out of there. A few days later he started scratching his ear and a couple days after that pus started coming out of his ear with a bad smell, so we took him to the vet. They told us he had an ear infection and it cost $415 to treat. I don't think that they dried my dogs ears properly because they were in a rush and I don't know what else could have caused this because the ear infection happened right after we took him here. read more

Helpful grooming department! Cat lady is rude! I have been taking my two chiweenie girls here for the last 2 1/2 years & EVERY time the staff here wow me. Usually Roman takes care of us but today he wasn't available. Someone from the salon called me on Sunday & asked if I wanted to make a grooming appt as they were having a special extra 10% off all chihuahua breeds on Thursday (today) only. I stopped by on Monday & made the appts. Roman was there but stated he would be off on Thursday and highly recommended his partner Veronika. She did not disappoint! When I arrived today Veronika greeted us, was thorough in asking all the health questions of both girls. She let each one warm up to her before she took them back. An hour later I got a call they were done. Let me mention that I had my 6 mo old babygirl with me during today's visit & upon pick up Veronika brought them out & helped me get them back on their leashes. The icing on the cake for me was how she added pink bows to their bottoms! Veronika you are fantastic & we will continue to return to this location because of you and Roman's excellent care for our fur kiddos! Thank you with all of my heart!! read more

This is going to be a little long. Been taking my Teddy (Frenchie) boy here to the grooming salon for the paste year or so. Hadn't had any negative experiences, until last Saturday. We got to our appointment and Evelyn took in our baby. She seemed nice, and thought I was leaving my baby in good hands. So she takes him in and we're checking in our little Olivia (Pom puppy, first time getting groomed) and within 5 minutes she comes out running, with our dog, soaked, and yelling "his nose is bleeding....his nose is bleeding!" I froze in a WTF moment and started to get a little scared, luckily my husband was with me to calm me. She didn't explain what happened, if he hit himself, or he freaked out m, nothing. Not a single explanation. She stayed quiet and tried to dry him. As she was drying him, he was was freaking out, and didn't want her to touch him. Just a side note, we've showered him at home and he tends to do well and doesn't freak out. So this was odd to me. As he's still bleeding, some other groomer yells out oh he's just stressed, it may be the new "express" wash and he's not used to it, you might want to take him to the vet. Evelyn gives us our dog and says she'll call us tomorrow to check on him. She didn't say if we have to pay or not she just walks away so I'm like WTF? I even ask my husband so do we pay or what she just left and didn't say anything. No one else was daring to say anything to us. So as we're still trying to figure out what the hell just happened and checking in Olivia with her groomer which I already forgot her name, and she starts up selling us so what we thought would be a $20 appointment turns out to be a $75 appointment, because according to her she needed it. With all the competition I ended up agreeing and Olivia went in with her. So we leave and as we're in the car, Ted isn't acting himself. We decided to bring him home and hoped that him being in his element would help calm him being stressed. As we're inspecting him, we notice the skin area around his eyes is red, his eyes look watery, he has a couple small pokes with a little blood, and as we're moving on to his folds, bam! We see it. He has a cut right in the fold between his nose and check. He wasn't bleeding from his nose, he was cut or scratched! So now I start getting pissed. But I'm like ok keep calm, gotta go get my Olivia maybe she'll talk to us then. 3.5 hours later we get a call that Olivia is ready and back we go. (Meanwhile Teddy is just sleeping on us and won't leave our side) so we get there they give us Olivia and we wait to see if anyone mentions anything or asks about him. Nope. So we wait for a call, nada, Sunday came around, nope no call. No call Monday, Tuesday, nor today. It really upset me that they didn't give us ANY explanation, didn't care to ask or call to see how he was doing, and also that they basically ignored us when we went back. Seriously the worst experience ever. And trust me, we will NOT be going back. Worst customer service ever! read more

Extremely frustrated with this store. The last 2 months the line to check out is more than 30 minutes long. From the front of the store to the back. Absolutely no excuse for this. Business is good, more people than ever adopting animals and buying supplies. I spoke to an employee and she told me that management is only allowing 2 registers open at a time. We have shopped here for the last 2 years, and this is just ridiculous. We will take our business to petco read more

Don't waste your time here, discriminatory staff, I waited almost 30 minutes while looking for fish in the pet fish section, then I didn't get service, I just wanted to buy a few cheap fish, the staff picked it out for other customers Some fish and some cockroaches just left, I just stayed there waiting to buy fish. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Do not trust these people with your pet! For the second time, & after receiving instructions not to shave our dog to the skin, they did. After dropping my dog off for an 11:30 a.m. appointment, I was called and told I would need to return to the store & accompany my pet while the groomer went on their lunch break. This was the first I had heard about this. Upon returning, I saw that my dog's body was already half shaved. I should have left with my dog and demanded a refund, but instead I allowed them to finish the job. It took almost another 3 hours for them to call me to pick up my pet. When my wife saw what they'd done, she called to complain & the manager of the grooming department decided it was time to give their customer a lecture, including contradicting the facts. I'm including a photo. Our dog has literally no protection from the elements or the sun. As an older dog with health problems, his fur will not grow back rapidly. I'm done with PetSmart. Unfortunately, our pet will have to live with the consequences for months. read more

Went in trying to find wet kitten food. Only one cashier was open and the line was long. I tried to find help....for a long time...as the cat food was a mix match of colorful madness. Only person I found at first was working at the fish tanks. She was helping someone else, so I waited....waited...waited....When finally she was done, she walks right past me, to someone else, who arrived much later than I did and starts helping them. Wow! Ok...well @#$% you too, lady! So...walking around the store again, looking for help, I find another....who is helping someone else. So I waited....waited...waited....finally got help. I told her I was looking for wet kitten food and needed help. Her response, with attitude was, "Yes, and?" Well @#$% you too, then, lady. Already lost 30 minutes in this place. She rushes over to the cat food section, points it out and says "you'll find cat food here", and then leaves.
