Didn't know this one was here, and it was handy today. We often go to Petsmart for food and puppy pads. The pads especially are reasonably priced and often on sale. This location is a pretty typical one: big, a variety of products, fish and rodent displays, cat adoption area, etc. There are usually pups in the store with their owners. The staff are friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable. We'll keep this one in mind for next time we're up this way. read more

Love petsmart usually but this is the 3rd time I've been in this location and had a cashier named Andy ring me up. She's rude, extremely unfriendly and makes you feel like your bothering her by existing. The first two times I interacted with her I was my usual smiley, happy self and she's just rude and unfriendly no matter how nice you are to her! I think I'll start going to Petco. I've had three awful experiences at this location, so I have a lot to say. Please bear with me. The first time I visited this location, I had just taken in a 4 week old kitten and was scrambling to accommodate him. One of the steps in this process was purchasing a little kennel to take him to the vet in. The employees had no idea what they were talking about and were bombarding my sleeping kitten with squeals and attention. if you are an employee and see a kitten that is obviously worn out, I feel like you shouldn't wake it up with your screams. The second terrible experience occurred when I took my cat in his little backpack to this location in search of a birthday gift for my dog. mind you, I was a 17 year old girl with my little cat looking for something specific. I asked two employees where I could find birthday treats. the first gave a remarkably rude response and told me to look for myself. The second told me she didnt know. after 5-10 minutes of searching I found the aisle. I was just frustrated that i was able to find it, yet the associate told me they simply didn't know where It was. it was literally an entire end cap to the first aisle of the dog section of the store. The third actually happened today. and it was my last straw. I was looking to purchase a young cat to keep my aforementioned kitten company. I asked a vet tech in the back if I was allowed to meet the kittens and she said that I had to talk to a petsmart associate. She was very nice, so there is no problem there, but the associate I spoke to was not. She just sort of shrugged and said there's no volunteer, so she couldn't let us see them because they would be financially liable if I got scratched. #1 I took in a 4 week old kitten from the street without a thought in the world and I actually got cat scratch fever, so that isn't even remotely a problem for me. Why would I sue just because a cat was being a cat? #2 There was no volunteer in sight. What if I was aiming to adopt a kitten today? Was I supposed to wait until they just showed up? They mentioned that the volunteers would show up at different times of the day, but didn't tell us any specific times to expect them. We were also there for well over an hour. I've just been very disappointed by the attitudes of these workers, and I needed to share my experiences. read more

Chad helped us out with coming up with ideas to transport these two to the vet tomorrow to be "fixed". My mom is lower income and didn't have the money to buy a car carrier, especially for a one time vet visit. The store was out of the cardboard carriers, so he got us two heavy duty cardboard boxes. We're going to alter them to make carriers for the cats. I'm giving this store 4 stars because Chad went above and beyond to help out. No judgement or hesitation. Absolute rip off. I brought my dog in for an ear infection. Paid $250 to basically get antibiotics. They also sold me an ear cleaner for $50 ($8 on Amazon). I came back for a refill because we spilled the medicine and they wanted to get him seen again. Same dog and same infection but they are so money hungry. The manager at the pet smart couldn't do anything because they're independent. Stay away please. read more

i have a male German shepherd 69 pounds and a coupon for 50% off with an add on which I added express . My bill came out more than 3 months ago with coupon and when I picked my dog up he was very damp . Ashleigh told me he was not a fan of drying and then said he was dry. Well she asked an other employee and said isn't he dry ? She said yes . My friend and I knew it was a lie . She claimed the spray to make him smell good is why he was wet . She only took her 45 minutes over all to bathe my dog. He is a long haired shepherd .. charged more with coupon which I had more done the last time. I wish I could give this location 0 stars. I brought in my 8 month old puppy for a bath package and I discovered he was injured- they cut the quick under 4 of his nails. I only found out after leaving because his paw was bleeding profusely and the back seat cover was covered in blood. I had mentioned that he was sensitive about his paws with everyone to the groomer, Hanna so that she would be aware. When I showed the photos of his paws to the store manager Kyle his reply was that "I've seen worse." His lack of compassion and professionalism were despicable. An apology would have been nice. Beware that they could care less about the wellbeing of your dog here. How is he supposed to learn to trust people? He's now likely traumatized about his nails being cut. read more

Really would like to schedule puppy lessons with Gayle, but scheduling availability is limited to only a few opportunities. Banfield's physicians are helpful and friendly, but it is a little pricey compared to my normal vet -Worthington Woods Animal Hospital -- who is not with a chain and is more fairly priced. When my dog was ill and 14, they do have some payment plan options to help offset pricing. The grooming salon is generally very good. Make sure you find one of the groomers that will fit with your dog's personality. There are some groomers who cannot handle small dogs. read more

I've already spent over 400 dollars at the vets (the dog invariably gets sick AFTER HOURS) this summer for my scottie's "dietary indescretions" (read: squirts from hell), She would rather eat things that have melted to and been stuck to the ground for god knows how long than her expensive holistic gourmet dog food. I decided for this last round I would research the internet and see what was out there. Between the net and Petsmart, I found a preparation that would take care of her bouts of angry bowel syndrome. I took it home, dosed her then anxiously watched her posterior for impending signs of doom...A friend of mine said matter-of-factly that I need to find a different hobby...After hours of tirelessly watching every movement, I realised it was over! Hallelujah!!! The angels were singing! It worked!!! It was like a liquid cork!! The employees here are very knowledgable and helpful. This place is a smorgasboard of dog and all manner of critter stuff. The prices are reasonable. I got several good, workable suggestions from an employee that worked like a charm. They do grooming and obedience training too. (Wish I'd have known, I woulda sent my ex here, maybe he would still be around. Heehee) I am grateful they were able to help me, or I would have incurred another emergency run to the vet, with it's associated mine blowing, wallet emptying fees. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Took my mini shnouzer to get his hair cut today and as we are watching through the glass the girl SHAVES my dog. I was aware he had a couple of mats on his legs and that needed to be shortened but she shaved his back half super short before my fiance busts through the door telling her to stop. She said she found a couple of tiny mats on his belly, apparently that's their way of dealing with it instead of using the dematting comb like to professional groomer would, so she took it upon herself to shave that as well. She got upset and told us she wouldn't finish the cut and we just needed to take our dog...we walked out with a hack job half shaved (front half long and shaggy, back half bald) dog. We both had a few choice words for her and the dumbass shift mgr loud enough for the whole store to hear....needless to say we didn't pay for it. We found a private groomer in Plain City who was awesome and fixed our baby boy as best she could and found as she was looking him over when we arrived that the Petsmart "groomer" had cut him with the clippers. My love/hate relationship with this pet store chain come from growing up a Veterinarians son. I really only go here for one reason, Hill's Science Diet for my cat. Hill's was the first company to formulate specialty foods for pets and has been doing so for decades, great company. Enough of my soapboxing for Hill's, this store is huge but well maintained even with the amount of human and pet traffic through here daily. I see they've abandoned grass in the parking islands out front of the store for gravel. For the most part the store employees keep the parking lot clean from the leavings of the irresponsible bastages that don't clean up after their pets. But you still gotta pay attention to where you're walking in and out of the store. Most dogs cannot help but relieve themselves in these high stress environments. Outside of the great prices on pet foods they offer a full range of services that I won't get into detail on. Corporate veterinarians on site, grooming services, classes and a plethora of crap that people will fool themselves into buying for their beloved pets that for most part only really care about the attention (or lack thereof) being paid to them. read more

First time visiting the Polaris location, but enjoyed walking around seeing the wide selection of products. The store was clean and well-stocked. I purchased a cat toy for my cat and it was on what appeared to be a clearance rack, but at the register it rang up at the regular price and the manager was called over to the register. He made the correction to the price, no questions asked; did not need to go verify that the price I quoted was accurate. No arguments. Very easy transaction and cashier was very friendly, as well. I would frequent it more often, but I live about 45 minutes away from this location, but recommend it for those who do live nearby. read more

Although this is a pet store chain and that's usually never good for animals, I do like some of the staff I have encountered here. Typically the checkout person (usually a teenage girl) is not super friendly or nice. Not mean, just doesn't say anything except "do you have a pet perks account?" There is a gentleman named Paul who works there who had excellent knowledge of aquariums, aquatic animals and of course fish. He was also very friendly and nice. That's hard to find these days. I mean, it's a pet store. What can ya say? The puppy training classes are actually kind of awesome. They're affordable and super useful, especially if you're a first-time dog mom/dad. I love that my local Petsmart has a Banfield in it. That's where I take Hershey for veterinary care and it's super handy that they a) offer pet health insurance, and b) are located right inside Petsmart, so everything I need is in one place! A big drawback: Petsmart always has corporate reps from big dog food companies trolling around the aisles trying to get you to switch food. It's annoying, intrusive and downright lame. read more

I've taken my dogs to get groomed at this Petsmart for quite a few years now and I just wish that they wouldn't need 4-5hrs to groom a 6lb dog and that they came out looking more consistent. I've had to take one of my dogs back and have the manager, Chelsea, re-do him because the cut was so uneven. Otherwise, their prices are reasonable and their location is good. I also wish they carried more high-quality pet food and treats. I use Pet People for my dogs every day needs. read more

I was upset about the misunderstanding when we needed to reschedule our dogs appointment. We were told a time, but it was put into the computer differently. I purchased a grooming package for my puppy, a bath with the "top dog plus" add on. My puppy had this done once before at this location with great results. The results were noticeably different this time. She only got a bath and a nail trim, which I paid over $50 for. No grinder was used on the nails. I don't believe she was conditioned, scented or had her teeth brushed. I can't tell if the ear cleaning was done, but am left wondering. After complaining to the lead groomer, I'm set to get a full refund. I wanted to share my experience though because I worry about the care my puppy received during the time she was at Petsmart without me.
