Today was our first time going to Jen's. We have used another groomer in town for almost 4 years, until our dog Maisey started acting fearful. When it got worse at the next visit, we had to make a change. With the pandemic shutting down groomers for a while, I trimmed her at home a few times, and now seemed like a good time to try sometime new to get her looking her best again. Taylor met us at our car, and took Maisey in with her. There was minimal paperwork to fill out. She was very pleasant and professional. After much less time than I am used to, she called to tell me Maisey was done. The only real complaint I have is that picking her up was a mess. Nobody answered the phone or the doorbell (not counting a bunch of barking dogs). On my fourth try, I got someone. Still nobody came out. Finally, someone noticed the barking sofa and came to the front door. Shortly after she went back inside, Taylor brought Maisey out. She looks beautiful, and was very happy. Her nails look like the grinding was a bit rushed, but she hates having her feet touched. Taylor was worried the cut might be too long, but it was much shorter than we're used to. With the hot weather, I had requested exactly what she gave us. Maisey seemed to have enjoyed her time there, including some play time with Taylor's dog. Payment was handled over the phone, and was less than I had been paying. We're very happy with Taylor, and will be returning for all our grooming needs in the future. read more

We have been taking our miniature doodle here for over a year.. initially it was a great experience but over time it has slowly gotten to be unacceptable.. The cuts have seem to get lazier and lazier to the point they just shave him no longer take requests and simply take the easy way out. This last time the cut his ear and it's very painful to him. Now I am going to have a vet bill! When we spoke up about our discontent with the way he looked they simply did not care. They are not interested in customer satisfaction! read more

Called and spent 45 minutes on phone listening about how they are down a groomer so I had to schedule Out- my guess is because they are poorly ran- so I waited three weeks for a bath and anal gland appt. drive from new Albany and they said I don't have you on the schedule but I remember talking to you and have you written down. Yay! I get to update my 1 star review! The mgmt team contacted me and were very nice. More important than their apology and effort to resolve the issue (which of course was appreciated) they advised me as to how to care for my sweet pet's abrasions AND they scheduled my dog with the fantastic gromer I had last month! That is all that I wanted! The reason for the full 5 star upgrade is how they not only gave me what I asked for, they even offered to drive down to bring me the tea tree oil to treat my pup! Have never really had a great experience but the last 2 times they have been horrible experiences. I have 2 bichons that we have taken to Jen's Grooming since Nov/Dec 2020. We have never complained to them and have tried to be flexible when they have had to make changes, but the last visit was the last straw. Our issues with Jen's Grooming: 1) Inconsistent cuts (not a big deal but never had this with other groomers) 2) They lost a groomer and when my dogs were supposed to go in they said they didn't have a reservation for them (I have a standing appointment every 6 weeks). To be fair, they did reschedule for a couple of weeks later and got our every 6 weeks standing appointment on the schedule again. 3) Our standing appointment was originally 10am they bumped it to 2pm (no big deal, we worked around it) 4) Took the dogs in at 2pm and were told they would be done around 5-5:30 (planned our schedule around this (twice) and the dogs were not done until 7pm). Didn't complain. 5) Cut our dog - around the dog's eye was nipped with the clippers (took 2 weeks to heal). Didn't say anything as I know dogs can move around and accidents happen and it wasn't something that was catastrophic with vision loss or anything (but it was painful with watery eyes). 6) Last straw - we were 15-20 mins late for our appointment (crazy day), they told us they couldn't take them because we were 30 mins late (we were not 30 mins late, but yes we were late). If we were always late I might understand this, but we have NEVER arrived late with our dogs. Never going back. We have bent over backwards to accommodate their issues (losing a groomer, being done 2 hours later than expected, and we show up 15 mins late, one time, and they can't take our dogs). read more

Jenn runs a cash service through Pet People in our area. One a month you can walk in and for under $10 get your dogs nails trimmed. We used this service a few times without incident and were pleased with the convenience and affordability. However, the third or fourth visit resulted in a trim that left our dog in pain. She limped on her paw and licked it for several days afterward. We will not use this service again. read more

Could not be happier with the service we have received from Jen's! The front desk staff is friendly and courteous. Our wheaten terrier, Huey, has been groomed by Gina three times. She does a phenomenal job! I am never concerned that Huey is going to come home looking like a different dog. She always gives us a full report when we pick Huey up. I can tell she takes pride in her work. I love that Huey is not caged while he is waiting for his haircut. We are able to drop him off before his appointment and let him play! I can't say enough great things about Jen's and we will be continuing to use them for Huey's grooming needs! read more

Jen's always does a fantastic job with my dogs! Erin is a fantastic groomer and I have been happy with her grooming every time she does them. She treats my dogs as if they were her own and I can tell she truly enjoys her job! They are extremely reasonably priced and also offer daycare. The customer service is fantastic! Found this place on Yelp and just have to continue to highly recommend! Visiting family from out of state and our havenese needed groomed. Really liked that this place doesn't place them in a cage unless needed and the cost was less than other places in the area! Overall the did a great job and everyone was very friendly. I have been taking my dog here for 3 years now. Her nails are hard to trim (and she's not super cooperative) and I've been told at other groomers that they won't even try to cut them! I've moved to the other side of town, but I'm still willing to make the trip to Jen's for the excellent service. Everyone I've worked with here has been fantastic, and their grooming packages are the best deals in town! Taylor is doing my dog's nails now and I cannot say enough about this angel of a woman! She goes above and beyond to make the dogs comfortable and ease their anxiety. My dog has never been so calm during a nail trim! She doesn't even whimper (she used to scream bloody murder at other places.) I've seen Taylor get down on the floor in the waiting room to trim the nails of a dog who was too scared to separate from its owner. This place is a gem! read more

I tried to think of what to write while I was re-buffing my dogs nails after her buff at Jen's, but I feel like that speaks for itself. I'm not picky about my dog's nails or grooming, but because my dog's nails are so long (when I trim them myself I worry about hitting the quick), I decided to bring her in for a nail buff, and went local instead of to a big dog store, hoping to support a small business. I called ahead, and brought her in for a drop in. I was apprehensive upon seeing the condition of the business (paint peeling, dogs walking around everywhere, faint smell of urine) but proceeded anyways. In the time that I paid for the service, they brought my dog back out and said she was done (4 mins). I thought "wow, that was fast" and was initially impressed. When we got to the car I looked at her feet. Each nail was splintered and frayed, the edges were sharp, and she seemed to be limping and uncomfortable. They had shaved around the quick of each nail, but not buffed them down at all. She gave me a nice cut as I got into the car as well. When we got home, I had to re-file every nail to remove the dozens of splinters and sharp edges. Needless to say, we won't be returning or bringing family pets back again. Not worth the $14 to end up having to completely redo it myself, and to see my dog in pain. A shame :/ read more

I took my husky here for the first time and they did an exceptional job! He requires a little patience because hes had a couple surgeries and they accommodated him very well. I've taken him to petsmart many times and they did an ok job but it was quite expensive. At Jen's, even after tip it didn't cost me as much as petsmart and they did a far better job! I highly recommend this place to others. Oh and they offer a 20 dollar bath if it's scheduled within 4 weeks of your original grooming appointment. Its a good discount on what it normally costs and it helps a lot with shedding. read more

Don't hesitate to bring your favorite Fido here. Jen and Lindsay are both awesome and clearly love their pooches. Prices are reasonable and they are easy to deal with. They have some funky hours, but they ALWAYS call right back when they get in the office. I recommend this place! read more

We have been coming to Jen's for a year now and to be honest, we've just had mostly horrible experiences here. My mom went to drop my dog off for a full grooming and when she was trying to explain what she wanted done on him, the groomers started to laugh at her telling her that wasn't possible. She felt humiliated. Later that day when we went to go pick him up, he had razor burn all over his body and his nails were cut so short that they were bleeding. His nails were bleeding for the rest of the day. We had to take him to the vet and when we called the groomers to tell them what they did, Jen apologized. From then on, Jen herself would do the grooming and we were fine with it. Today is when we had the most horrible experience. Our dog's hair tends to matte very easily no matter how much we brush it and Jen would tell us to schedule his grooming appointments earlier than before so his hair doesn't get as matte. I scheduled an appointment a month ago. My dad went to drop him off and when we got there, Jen told him the appointment was only scheduled for a shower, not a grooming. We have never gotten just a shower done here before and I always book the appointments myself so I know I said the appointment was supposed to be for a full grooming. But we still left and rescheduled for a week out. The day of the next rescheduled full grooming appointment, we got a call a few hours before the appointment telling us that Jen is sick and that we would need to reschedule again. Now we don't know if Jen was actually sick but we believed them and still rescheduled even though we were worried about our dog's hair because Jen's the only groomer at this place that has worked well with our dog. All of the other groomers that work here are too rough with him. Today, my dad went to drop my dog off at 8 am for our third rescheduled appointment. When we got there, one of the groomers (not Jen) said my dog's hair was too long and too matted and that she doesn't think they can cut his hair. My dad got very angry (rightly so) and said that we had been trying to schedule for the past month because of this issue and they had been rescheduling us. She said that he could drop Charlie off and wait for Jen to come and see for herself. So my dad dropped him off because we wanted to see what Jen thought of his hair. We called around 10:30 am to see if Jen had arrived, she hadn't. I asked why we dropped our dog off at 8 am in the morning if Jen hasn't even come in yet? The receptionist said it's because they need to give him a bath. It takes 2.5 hours to give him a bath? Anyways we said we need Jen to let us know ASAP what her plan is for my dog. Receptionist said she would contact Jen and see where she is. They called me back, said to pick my dog up and she told us to go somewhere else. I called again and asked if that's what Jen said and they said no and that they've been trying to contact Jen but she isn't picking up her phone. So it's 11:00 am now, my dog's been there for 3 hours sitting in small crate and Jen's still not there? Was she even supposed to be coming in that day? We decided to just go and pick my dog up. This was just absurd. They still hadn't gotten in touch with Jen and this is her grooming salon....shouldn't she be worried about her clients? We had seen Jen a month ago when we had to reschedule the first time, couldn't she had told my dad right then that she thought his hair was long and that she doesn't want to see him? No. Jen and her staff have been purposely trying to avoid us. If they didn't want us as clients all they had to do was tell us so when we were trying to reschedule his appointment 3 times!!! We thought Jen would care about her business but she obviously does not. She has no idea how to behave with her clients and can't even call or talk to them when we try to contact her. I recommend NOT taking your pets to this place if you want them to be treated well. read more

This is the only place that I have let groom our fur baby. We have had our Dexter for 2.5 years and only Jen has groomed him! He loves going to spend the day with her and the other dogs. The prices are very reasonable and it is always great friendly service! read more

We usually got our dogs groomed at Petsmart and decided to try this place because it was closer to our house and our friend had told us good things about it. I am happy to say they did a great job and it was about 30% less than Petsmart. They cut, washed, and dryed our dogs and even had them decked out with nice little bows. They even have a special drying machine that gets rid of any shedding and loose hair. Lindsey was the dog stylist and she was very friendly, really professional, and overall a pleasure to deal with. We will certainly use this place again to get our dog grooming. read more

From the first time I called, the staff was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome! We have a big Rottweiler puppy with lots of energy and haven't found any other doggy daycare that truly loved our dog and allowed him to play all day long!!! Every staff member has been so nice and obviously they all love dogs immensely! We have been very pleased with both the daycare and grooming, and may try the boarding when we are out of town next. I truly can't say enough good things about this business. Our dog doesn't spend the entire day in a kennel, but rather with other dogs and the workers where he is most happy! The groomer showed up late for our appointment, the shop wasn't even open when we arrived. The final price was more than we were quoted, and they forgot our leash we left with our dog. Then, they had the audacity to ASK us for a tip. Extremely unprofessional, I would not recommend this place to anybody. read more

The most uneven haircut and waste of time I've ever experienced. After four hours, I as an amateur, probably could've done better. I believe this girl was new, but she cut my dog's hair so short that I cannot even fix the unevenness, and of course it's still cold out so she's already shivering. I will not be taking my dog back to this location or ever recommending to a friend. read more

Since getting my dog one year ago I have been to Jen's Grooming 3 times. I will not go back. I have only given them numerous chances because I understand that it takes time to build a relationship with a groomer for them to know what you want.The most recent trip is the most upsetting. My dog is a small breed with fluffy hair. After this last grooming, she came home with a shaved/burned area on her haunches. Because the rest of her fur is fluffy and longer, it covered the spot when I picked her up from Jen's. But when we went walking in the rain the next day, once her fur was wet, the burned area was exposed, red and irritated. While I can overlook something cosmetic that I don't like about a haircut, I will not compromise my dog's safety while in the care of a groomer. Not only am I troubled by the fact this this happened during my dog's visit, I am more bothered that they tried to hide the error from me and cover it up. read more
