Designer Paws Salon DOES NOT listen to their customers…read more If there is any miscommunication, they DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY, and they will LIE to support their narrative. During the consultation with their groomer, I made these statements; "I like Higgins looking messy", "I do not want him looking proper", "I do not what any hair cut from his face area". Even after hearing these statements, they completely cut off his eyebrows!!! When asked why they cut off his eyebrows, they indicated that I said that I wanted to see his eyes, which is a complete LIE! I had indicated that it had been a couple months since his last haircut and the groomer reached down for a couple seconds and recommended "trimming his hair down". This meant to me that his hair would be trimmed down to 1/2 to 1" in length, so I agreed. As can be seen in the photo, they trimmed his hair completely down to the skin! When asked why they indicated that they said to me that he had to be shaved completely down ("naked") since it was only his second haircut in a year, which again is a complete LIE! I was able to get my doodle scheduled for every 6 week grooms in May 2024 after being on a waiting list. I was so thrilled with this business because it made grooms so convenient for us & my pup was SO much happier than being dropped off at a groomer. It was truly the best of both worlds! I always received compliments on how well my pup did during the grooming sessions & his cuts were always PERFECT!! In December 2024, I received a phone call from the owner around 2 weeks after his scheduled groom. The owner informed me they would no longer be able to groom my pup because of his size. When I signed my pup up for grooms, he was around 55lbs and now he's around 65lbs. I understand they do have a 50lb weight limit and was informed they allowed it at first but now he is just too big. They also noted his height, which he is a pretty tall boy. While I completely understand their concern, I am just extremely upset it became an issue over 6 months after the grooms started. His height didn't change much, he just filled out through his body. The main reason I am upset is due to the lack of notice. As a mobile grooming business, they are well aware there is typically a waitlist for these services. While I did get my pup on a waitlist shortly after I was informed of this, he is still on a waitlist for another business. It is now the time for his every 6 week groom & I have no idea when he will be able to get into the new place. I truly wish I would've received more notice for this, even letting me know after his NEXT groom, they would no longer be able to groom him. The owner & groomer are very nice & friendly BUT I do wish this situation was handled differently.

At my next visit, I was charged $78, which appears to include that $20 fee without any explanation beforehand. When I tried to ask about it, the front desk employee didn't address my concern directly and instead told the owner I was already disputing the charge. This was frustrating, especially since I hadn't even been informed what I was being charged for in the first place. Clear communication and transparency matter, especially with long-time customers. I trusted this business for years, so being treated this way felt dismissive and unprofessional.

So it really means a lot to me to have the right groomer. I think I found our next groomer with Lissy K's. She grooms only one dog at a time, she is gentle and friendly and my dogs really loved her. She did a great job. I can tell she is an animal lover and I felt very safe leaving my fur babies with her. I was actually really impressed. And bonus she sells Girl Scout cookies too! Haha. Thank you so much. Great job. Your skills on my yorkie/poodle/pom mix are impressive. I loved that she goes into a hammock and can just fall sleep while she gets her cut. I've been taking my GSD here for about a year…read more I chose it for several reasons - they offer special services for dogs who are anxious or overstimulated- they're locally owned - they are LGBTQIA+ friendly. My dog is quite fluffy. Other groomers take several hours with her due to the amount of hair and passing her off between people. After an hour here she is bathed, brushed, dried, and has had her nails trimmed. Technically my dog has reached geriatric stage and with arthritis can't be standing for hours at a time. It's always the same person who takes care of her. I don't know if they keep notes or have good memories but always ask me about past issues to be mindful of during the visit.

The owner, Julie, was sarcastic and rude to me. She also billed me a $50 missed appointment charge. There are NO signs alerting clients nor did ever inform me of her policy. She admitted that she forgot to send an email with her policies indicated. A subsequent text exchange with her was condescending. She was disrespectful toward me as her customer.
