If I could put 0 stars I would. Took my dog for an overnight stay. Within 24 hours of picking him up he started projectile pooping. The poop sometimes contains blood. It's been days and he is still violently ill. If my dog survives, I will not be returning. I am appalled at how sick my dog became from such a short time at this location. Edit to update: our dog was violently ill for over a week. We got the vet involved. I see another member commented about their dog being covered in pee upon pickup. This was also our experience in the past. Our dog's body doesn't drag on the ground when he walks. read more

To start - this was not a very good experience with day and overnight boarding. (Nike Drive location). Positives: The staff is faithful and nice. There is a video app to watch your dog. Our initial interview went well. Negatives: When I viewed my dog (a one and a half year old healthy puppy) a few times on the video, I did not like what I saw. My dog is under 25 pounds and put in the small dog area. On one occasion the staff put a much larger dog in the same area and I watched the large dog 'pester' and continually chase my dog who wanted nothing to do with it. There was one person in this area with the dogs and he took a bottle and sprayed my dog (?) who was trying to get away from the large dog and was pinned under it. I called and asked why he sprayed my dog laying on the ground underneath this big dog but not the big dog. He said that is their policy (?seriously?) so I asked that the big dog be moved out of the small dog area. I was not happy at all about this issue. Here's the short of it: We picked up our dog early because of this situation but she was still there 5 nights. I took her to be vet checked the day after our early pick up due to the fact she was hacking and sneezing and had a large eye wart on one eye (like I said she was healthy when dropped off). She was determined to have an upper respiratory infection, probably from being sprayed in the face. Now after one month she is still recuperating from this and still having nose issues. And the eye wart infection took 2 weeks to fade. I do not recommend your dog being more than 4 hours in this facility. read more

We chose this location based on convince and should have never taken our dog to this facility. As a puppy we took her to training classes for socialization and never had a problem in the class, large public events, nor at dog parks. She prefers dogs over people and enjoys play chasing games. She started going to daycare as a 1 year old. I assumed this facility would be well staffed with proper training on dog handling etc. I even provided them a list of her training command words as my dog is bi-lingual and understands hand signals. We only took her to daycare maybe once or twice a week and mainly used this location for boarding. The first PROBLEM I had was the use of a Spray Bottle to 'punish' dogs. My dog still has PTSD whenever she sees a spray bottle, which is alarming! The second PROBLEM I had was when my dog was ATTACKED and they chose NOT to call me and inform me of the incident. I watched the entire incident on their live camera. The third PROBLEM I had is when my dog was ATTACKED again and received a 3 inch tear at her neck/upper back region, surprisingly they called me, but minimized the severity of the cut. Claimed she wouldn't need stitches, but it was still bleeding when I picked her up. I immediately took to the vet and they were extremely alarmed by what I told them as my dog required stitches; otherwise, she would have had a bacterial infection. The fourth PROBLEM I had was the lack of correction for dogs jumping on and humping other dogs. That type of behavior should never be allowed in such a small confined space. The fifth PROBLEM I had was the lack of communication about my dogs health and well-being while at day care. Taking her out of daycare play times to put her in timeout with no reason resulting in my frantically calling them as I could not find my dog on their live cameras. Essentially I was afraid something had happened or she was given to another person claiming her (I.e., dog thieves) because staff couldn't be bothered to learn her name. The sixth PROBLEM I had was the lack of structure and control over the gate door to the large dog play room. Dogs would crowd, bully, nip, and bark hysterically. The amount of times I watched my dog get beat up by other dogs when she tried to get close to the excitement was more than both hands. Evidently my nativity about this business being professional as well as, knowledgeable about dogs, dog training, proper behavior, and ethical standards was the ultimate downfall for my fur baby. I had to learn this lesson the hard way as the final PROBLEM was when I received a phone call that my dog had nipped a dogs back leg, breaking skin, when staff was trying to remove this dog from the play room. I was not granted permission to watch the video, nor could they tell me what caused the behavior. I asked if there were significant events prior to the gate crowding, were they playing together, or were other dogs exhibiting the same nipping gate door guarding. They didn't know or have any answers. Instead I was told my dog based on her breed would not be allowed back at either location. The staff actually tried to shame me when I picked her up that day as if it wasn't only months before she was violently attacked (kept telling me then it wasn't my dogs fault). The shame I had was the fact I even brought her back, instead I should have taken the loss in money and found a better, healthier, and safe place for her to spend daycare at. My dog was 3 years old when she was banned from cbw. Do not take your dogs to this facility if you love and care for your dog like a family member. read more

We took our dog in today for an "interview" to see if she'd be suitable for boarding. We watched her on their live web cams the ENTIRE time and she didn't play, but she was very well behaved. She didn't snip at any of the dogs, didn't do anything wrong and didn't run around like a mad dog. She just sort of hung out and watched the other dogs play. They give us a call and said they can't board her because she's "too nervous" and thats complete bullshit. She was nervous, she's never been to any place like this before, but she was fine with the other dogs and she was fine with the trainers. Thanks to camp bow wow basically just not liking our dog we have to scramble to find some other place to board her for our vacation. On top of all that, we were late getting her into the interview because when we took her the first time the person on the phone completely failed to tell us she'd need her dog flu shot. Just completely didn't give us that information, so we got the shot and came back the soonest we could get in because we THOUGHT this was going to be a great place for our dog. Don't waste your time here. Completely disgusted with this whole process. But hey, at least they can admit that they aren't properly trained to deal with a dog that's a little nervous. Good on you, camp bow wow. Update: After this experience we asked for recommendations on Facebook for other place to use and were SHOCKED at some of the things we heard about camp bow wow. I've attached just a few that surprised me. Some were former customers and some former employees that said they actually quit because they didn't agree with the way CBW were caring for the dogs in their care. I was really shocked to hear they didn't turn dogs away, but instead crammed them wherever they could fit them. For us, it's a blessing in disguise they didn't keep our dog. It's not an environment we would want her to be in. The only good thing about CBW is their head dog trainer, Hailey, who helped us tremendously in the beginning with our dog. read more

I have been taking my dog, Sammie, here ever since she's 6 months old (she is now 4yrs old...oh how time flies!). All of the staff are super friendly and you can tell they really love the dogs. They have large indoor and outdoor play areas that are separated into small, medium, and large dog areas. Most of the time my dog is put in the medium dog play area, but since she's very submissive and sometimes other dogs may play too rough for her, the staff would put her in the small dog area. I love the fact that they have webcams so I can check and see what my dog's up to...not that I do it very often or anything... I also love that they have a half-day option where I can drop Sammie off for 5 hrs and pay only $12. It's very affordable. I always do a half-day for her on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. So when my wife and I go out doing our thing Saturday evenings, Sammie will sleep all evening. Finally, they also have options to come to your home to walk your dog while you are out. There are also obedience classes and grooming. I've never used any of these options, but it's good to know that they have it. I'm so glad Camp Bow Wow is around! read more

I've been taking my dog to Camp Bow Wow Hilliard for about 6 years now every Friday. Once a month I treat him to a bath and nail trim during his daycare visit and have always been happy with the service and never feared any kind of mistreatment. Last month, on June 9th, I picked my Chocolate lab up from his normal weekly daycare visit with a bath and was very displeased and sad to see the state he was in. When I walked in the front door I could hear him and knew he wasn't happy. My dog was brought to me and I paid for the service, and as usual tipped 20%. I wish I had walked back in the building and shared my feelings, as well as asked for that tip back. The groomer walked by as I was checking out and didn't bother to greet me or my dog. After we walked outside and he jumped in the back of my vehicle I could see why my dog was upset. He had rubbed his nose raw while waiting in the drying crate for me to pick him up at the normal scheduled time. Many of his nails had been cut to the quick and had bled. The dew claw of his front left paw was cut way too short. He was even still bleeding from the nail trim. His dew claw still had dried and fresh blood all around the nail which I cleaned up with a wet cloth when we got home. I don't expect to pick up a bloody dog from a grooming appointment. I do expect someone to pay attention and notice when a dog is in distress. Many dogs do not like the drying crate. I have asked almost every time I make an appointment for a bath that my dog be put back out to play once the bath is complete. I don't expect him to be dry and sitting in a crate so he doesn't get dirty when I pick him up at the end of the day. My dog suffers from allergies. The monthly baths are to wash the irritants from him as suggested by his veterinarian. I went back and forth on whether or not to submit this review. I have been upset about the service and the state I picked my fur baby up in since that Friday and felt it was worth sharing. I would not recommend the current groomer, Lidia, give your family pet a bath at Camp Bow Wow Hilliard. She won't be giving my dog a bath again. These people have been nothing but great. I am a new dog owner of a puppy and they were willing to fill me in on how the "interview" process works and were never rude about it or never once seemed annoyed. They were willing to meet my puppies needs with loving on him when he was anxious and even switch him to a room with calmer dogs while he was still adjusting to being around bigger dogs than him. All around a great group of people and they know him by name whenever we come in! So friendly! I also enrolled my puppy in the training classes and those are great too. The trainer explains everything perfectly so you can become a great dog owner. I highly recommend these training classes for the people that lack experience in being a dog owner. The day my 1 year old boxer was there I could see via web cam that there were 20 dogs wandering around and only 1staff member ( who was armed with her spray bottle!). I used CBW when in a pinch and I have nothing bad to say except I with they had more stimulating equipment for the large dogs. Everyone was great with my people loving high energy pups. They even noticed one of them was having a small medical issue and were able to arrange a visit to the vet. Pricing is pretty decent. More private rooms would be great though. I could not recommend Camp Bow Wow more highly! Lidia is an incredible groomer, and has made our pup feel so comfortable every time she has groomed him. He loves playing with the other dogs at daycare, and the staff is very attentive. I also feel that Camp Bow Wow Hilliard did an exceptional job preparing the facility to reopen during COVID. I have two new to our household pups: Everest, age 2ish, and Meadow, age 1ish. I don't know their exact ages because they are both "rescues". The pups went to "day camp" at Camp Bow Wow while my husband and I were on vacation. Our son took them and picked them up every day, so we really didn't see them at "camp". They are great little dogs, but have really opposite in temperments. Everest is smaller and likes to sit on laps. He likes to play, but not all the time. He likes to squeak his squeaky toys. Meadow is a playing machine. She has so much energy!! She likes to wrestle and chew up Everest's squeaky toys and pull out the stuffing and squeakers. She has an opinion about everything and barks her opinions to anyone who will listen. Or anyone who won't. They will wrestle each other and chase, which is fine, and fun, too. But when Everest tires, Meadow still wants to wrestle. So, he hops up on my lap--apparently, he thinks I am "home base". Meadow doesn't know this rule. She hops up and continues the wrestling. I cover my face with a pillow so my eyes don't get poked out. However, today I was bushed. Just really, really tired. And Meadow just wanted to play. And bark. And wrestle. Everest didn't want to, and quite frankly, neither did I. Camp BowWow to the rescue! I called on impulse and they had an opening. I took Meadow over and she got to play all day. They were so glad to see her. Everest and I were able to stay home and have a "Mommy and Me" day. We napped. Took a few drives. Hung out. Had a short walk. Just chilled. And Meadow got to play. We watched her a little on the "Camper Cam". I know she had fun and played lots...because it is 10:41 and she is sound asleep!! Thanks, Camp BowWow. They'll be back!! read more

There's not much I can say that hasn't been said in other reviews, so I'll keep it short...LOVE THIS PLACE! I am in Clintonville and it's not very close to me but it's so worth the drive for long term boarding when I'm on vacation. I have taken my dogs to several other boarding facilities and there's always something wrong...the employees not being real animal lovers, the pricing structure being too complicated or too expensive, or the cages being too small with no play time (like most veterinarians). I wish they were closer to me because I would drop my shy dog there a couple days a week. She was so freaked out by other dogs the first time I left her, I watched her sit by the gate in the small dog play yard all day on web cam. Coming here for long term boarding several times has really improved her confidence. I am thinking of using their new training program here to try to work on her issues a little more. read more

I am disgusted with the boarding standards and even more with the after the fact customer service at Hilliard Camp Bow Wow. Do NOT board your dog here. Our dog was soaked in pee when we picked him up. We asked for an explanation and for our dog to be washed as this is highly unsanitary. They quickly washed the dog and the problem was not fixed. We asked for some kind of compensation and were told the manager would call us the next day. We got no call and then I called again to talk to a manager. Manager still wasn't on premesis and no call back. No compensation. No explanation. Pathetic. read more

I have a German Shepard, Brick, who plays here 3 days a week and she boards here 4 weeks a year. The people that work here makes this place great. They really care to take the time to get to know your dog and their characteristics. Brick had an abnormal poop while there and they called me immediately. My husband and I left work to go get her and they had made an appointment with our vet for us. While at the vet they called to check on her. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with her. I was planning to take her home and wait and see but they insisted on keeping an eye on her so we could go back to work. Never figured out what caused the issue and she was fine after that. I can watch her on the camper cam while at work or on vacation. I can also message them on Facebook and ask about her while out of the country and they always have a quick reply. At first, I was a little jealous about how happy she was to get there and jump up on the counter to see who was working and lick them in the face. ( I know, we should have taught her not to jump up on people). When I really thought about it - what a great place... An extended family for dogs! read more

We started with one day a week for our dog Mac. The idea was to keep him socialize with other dogs. We never thought about how the staff would be such a important part. Mac enters the office excited and happy to see everyone, trust me you know when your dog is happy. When he leaves he always look back like he is leaving his best friends. You can always check the cameras to see what your pet is up to.Now we leave him for overnight stays with complete security that he is loved. read more

I have taken my dog here for both daycare and boarding. The facility is nice and very big so there are a bunch of dogs in the facility at once. The cam feature is nice when you are out of town and want to check in on your dog. My bad experiences both came when I boarded my dog. The first time I took him, he came back without his flea collar and I had to call and ask if they knew where it was. They nicely gave me an in facility credit for their losing it, but I had to go out and purchase a new collar and bring the receipt to get the credit. The second time I boarded him he came back home and got kennel cough the next day(even with very current vaccines). I was very disappointed as I could no longer take him to daycare or let him be around other dogs for a few weeks, not to mention the vet bill(they cannot reimburse). Overall it is not a bad place but just beware there are a lot of dogs they are taking care of at once, so they will not specifically be paying attention to the dogs individually(noticing sick dogs etc). Losing something or getting kennel cough are probably very common occurrences at this location. I have chosen to switch to an alternate place for daycare and boarding that holds less dogs for these reasons. read more

I took my dog to this location a few times without any issues. However, suddenly they are always full. Seems like if I don't schedule over a week in advance, I can't get in. I've made a reservation several times, and never gotten any sort of confirmation or the "sorry we're full" e-mail response. I end up having to call to see if we're even scheduled, which is ridiculous as the website says THEY will contact you. I've had better luck with the Grandview Heights location. read more

My mom and I loved the training we received from camp bow wow! We completed the first course and as soon as we can will be going for course 2. The class sizes are small and Hailey makes sure each pup gets individualized attention. She is amazing with the dogs and you can see how well dogs respond to her when she walks up to them. Beware that your dog needs the flu shot (a two shot series) before they can attend Camp Bow Wow. They will not tell you this over the phone and it is not a routine vaccine given by vets so you will arrive to drop off your pup and they will refuse to take them. Love this place and so does my pup! I was impressed with the cleanliness and the fact it didn't smell like urine! I love the fact that I can check in on my pup and view him on the cameras. I think the best deal is $12 for a half day of up to 6hrs. This is especially nice on Saturday when I just want my dog to get a little extra exercise! We rely on Camp Bow Wow to take care of our beloved (high energy) Aussie-mix Beanie when we take longer vacations that are not dog friendly. He is not always the easiest pup to handle as he is rambunctious and loves to be loved on by people. We have witnessed several instances (while watching on the web cameras, yes we are nerds and it is an amazing feature of Bow Wow!) staff members, even though they are in areas full of dogs to take care of, take a few moments to love on our pup...it means the world to us! I had an 8am "interview" for my dog at the Hilliard location on a Saturday. I got there around 7:40am and they told me that they have canceled all the interviews for the day because their Grandview location has an outbreak of kennel cough and they are taking precautionary measures, which is completely understandable, but I was never informed of this cancellation! It's frustrating because I drove here early morning on a Saturday when I could have stayed home! I don't understand how they can't inform potential clients of cancellations, they asked me if I got a phone call and I said no one called me. Very annoying! read more

Our dog loves Camp Bow Wow. She gets to interact with other dogs of her size and the general staff are very committed and friendly. However, we are terribly disappointed with the groomer at Camp Bow Wow, and with the management for employing this person. We had our large long haired Siberian dog groomed there in mid-December with explicit verbal instructions to the on-site groomer to only trim the hair on the pads of our dog's paws. The groomer then shaved our winter snow dog's abdomen and upper hind legs down to the skin. This is wrong on at least three levels. First, the groomer that is employed by Camp Bow Wow in Hilliard disregarded her verbal instructions from the dog's owner, then second exercised wrong judgement and incompetentence in shaving a long haired breed to the skin during winter, and third this groomer may be treating your dog to another unexpected surprise if you let her. We recommend boycotting Camp Bow Wow until the management gains responsible control of the grooming program there. read more

Camp Bow Wow in Hilliard is top notch! The service is phenomenal not only because you can genuinely tell the employees love dogs but because as soon as you walk in they know who you're picking up or dropping off! I personally value that type of personable interaction when utilizing any kind of service but especially one where I'm dropping off a loved one like my pup. Another interesting aspect of Camp Bow Wow that sets them apart in my eyes are the cameras. I know they've been mentioned already by some other reviews but being able to see your dog having fun in a safe, open, and supervised environment is truly a great feeling. Finally, the safety precautions taken are fantastic. The ratio of employees to dogs during play time is great and offers an even better environment than most dog parks really. Also, there is an interview process where they take dogs in who are most likely to behave well in that environment. It reassures me personally to know that. read more

I love how comfortable the staff made us feel leaving our Duke there for the first time!! Everyone is so friendly, I know he's in great care when at Camp Bow Wow!! Very disappointed! My dog is friendly, and well socialized. Today an inexperienced handler entered an extremely full "play area". The dogs were very overcrowded . Several rushed the door . My dog reacted. No dogs were hurt. He was just trying to claim some space. So they put him in a cage!!!!!! When I checked the cams, and couldn't find him, I called. The receptionist didn't have a clue where he was. No one had called me. Were they planning on caging him the entire day? I immediately went to the facility. The girl at the desk explained he was caged because he had never been there before. Wrong he spent 8 hours there on the 30th. I had to change all the days plans. To bring a very traumatized dog home. High turn over of staff, low pay, inadequate training of staff. Reading other reviews, I realize my experience was not unique. To conclude I must mention my wonderful pet goes to another camp bow wow in our home town 2 hours away. Excellent care my dog loves it! Hilliard is horrible !!!!!!!!! read more
