Working at The Doggy Den was an experience of a lifetime. I learned so much more about dog behavior in group play. Seeing some of the dogs' confidence grow over time and making best friends was such a reassuring feeling and attests to the work everyone puts into making every single dog as comfortable as possible. This type of environment may not work for every dog, depending on their circumstances. Safety will always come first, for your dog and for others. However, the staff does an exceptional job working with every single dog who comes through the door. Caring for the dogs as though they are our own and building a strong bond with many of them, I personally will be back to visit and spend some time with them when I can. Kris was a phenomenal boss to work for and helped me in many ways that I am forever grateful for. In an environment like this, with as many as over 100 dogs some days, it may not be the easiest job. However, the staff and the wonderful dogs who come made it so so worth any stress. I will forever love The Doggy Den! read more

Our two girls (a golden doodle and poodle) love the Doggy Den. They run to the door when we go. The Den has activities for them (like splash pools when it's hot) and plenty of space to run and play both inside and out. Dogs are segmented by size. They also monitor for aggressive dogs who are told they can't come back. Those are often the source of bad reviews -- but the rest of us love the fact the dogs are monitored. Alexis grooms our girls. We had a bad experience at another place so we were concerned. But then Alexis was in the lobby one day when we arrived and the girls ran to her, so happy to see her. That convinced us that this is the right place for them. The sleeping quarters are generously sized -- _not_ little cages stacked on each other like the other places. We've done both daycare and longer stays when we've traveled, all with good experiences. They even text us pictures and small videos when we're gone for a few days, which we appreciate. The best place for your large or small dog to spend the day with friends. We've been using Doggie Den for several years and our big dog has friends to her own size to play with under supervision. Kind and caring staff genuinely care about our dog and keep a careful eye on her during the day. We've boarded her from time to time and that's always been a positive experience. Honest????. First time I've given a terrible rating. We've used the facility for years and needed to drop the dogs off to go urgently to the airport. The attendant couldn't find records of the dogs , but offered that we could purchase a new plan. I took out my credit card, but paused because the records should be there. In a rush, my husband gave the attendant $100 just for the day but she still couldn't find our records and advised that many peoples records have been deleted if the account was inactive for a year based on a new policy. We provided our names/dogs names/spelling/ phone numbers with no success. This is recorded on their video system. Fear of being late for the flight, my husband returned to the car with the dogs and asked for me to check if he left the $100 behind. I returned and asked the lady who confirmed she had returned it and we left in a hurry. Next day, I phoned the owner to enquire about the records. She states that we were both lying, her staff never had any problems finding the records (that's why were there so long) and in addition we accused her of stealing $100.00. This is blatantly untrue on all accounts. The records would have been opened, we would have extended that plan as done many times before and left. Business as usual. The money was just double checking with the attendant if my husband had picked it up as he was in the car with the dogs. The owner used this as a shame tactic. Logic - if I say you're mean you are also dishonest and my staff is never wrong. To clarify her position, she absolutely refused to let us review the video coverage as this would easily prove all of the events. In addition our last doggie visit was for half a day, but they deducted a full day! Yet, I know of people who don't had half day and full day deductions on their older plans. Recently they may have had a policy change - as they do offer either full or half day packages, but that was not the plan that I had purchased. Nonsense argument all around. Many 1 star ratings and mine is not for the computer problem (who hasn't been there before) but for the character slinging, misdirected recall of events and refusal to share the video coverage. read more

Will never recommend this place ever again. I have used Doggy Den to board my dogs for short weekend trips on several occasions over the past year. Never had an issue ever. Until today. Kris sends me a text message that says 'please call us, no rush.' I called back immediately after receiving the text confused as to what it could possibly be since I picked up my dog up 6 days ago. I was told another dog gave my dog 'a dirty look' & that dog 'came at my dog.' My dog, naturally, reacted to this dog's aggression toward him. I was told Jackson had been there 'for awhile & was probably homesick.' He was there for exactly 59 hours. That's 2.5 days. I would not consider that to be 'awhile' or a long time in general at all. This was in fact the shortest time he had ever been boarded. I was then told that he needed to be coming to daycare (not boarding) consistently so he's 'not cooped up in a house all day.' He said 'we are not a place for boarding, we specialize in daycare.' In the many times I have been here (for boarding) I was never advised of this 'rule.' I am fortunate enough that where I work I can bring my dog with me. Kris should have never assumed that my dog was kept 'cooped up.' If they don't want to do boarding only, they need to tell people they do not allow boarding unless you use their daycare 'consistently.' I am beyond baffled at the assumptions & gross lack of communication. When I picked him up, I was told he was 'a good boy & so happy.' Even 3 of the employees were saying goodbye & petting him when I picked him up. If there was an issue I should have been notified immediately upon pick up. Waiting nearly a week to send a vague text message of 'no rush' is 100% unprofessional. I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

We have taken our dog here for many years- maybe 6 or 7. The staff is incredibly friendly. They all know our dog by name. Our dog absolutely loves to go there- he knows the second we start out in that direction. He bounds out of the car and can't wait to greet the other dogs and staff- I have complete trust in their care for our pooch. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. My poor 10 month old puppy broke his toe under the supervision of the staff here. I understand dogs will be dogs, however I was not contacted at all when this happened. I was lied to and told "sometimes he limps like this here, he'll probably be fine in about 20 minutes" I called back the next day and was told no one has any idea what had happened. Also, I was informed the manager had "manipulated" his toes to check for injuries, which could have made the break worse. I should have been informed IMMEDIATELY following the injury. I did not even receive an apology, find a daycare that will actually supervise and care for your pup. read more

We have been kenneling our dog here for the last 6 months or so. The last time we kenneled him was during our wedding. We picked up our dog and noticed that he couldn't open his left eye. After taking him to the vet the following morning, it turned out that he had an ulcer in his eye. If we had taken a honeymoon straight after our wedding, our pup would have gone blind if the kennel didn't notice it. The time before this, we picked him up and he was covered in scabs and his tail was bleeding from being chewed on. The staff did not report anything. I understand that dogs can be rough while playing but the staff seems oblivious to any injuries. Each visit ends up costing twice the amount due to vet bills. We will be exploring other kennel options in the future. read more

I have taken two of my dogs here for the last two years. These people love dogs, and facilitate a wonderful venue for dogs to experience healthy pack relating. I have done day care a few times a week for some time, and have left my dogs while on vacation for up to 5 days. The dogs are organized based on size and age and monitored in free play. It has been vital especially for my puppy to get energy out. Great experience, never worried while my dog is there and they have loving staff and a great pack for your dog to be part of. The worst place I have ever brought my dog to. Management is only in it for the money, the staff is not well-trained, and nobody will give you a clear answer to your questions. My dog would come home with scratches all over him and nobody could tell me why, then I was notified that my dog is, "too hyper," and other dogs, "don't take it well." I was told to return when my pup didn't have as much energy and was a bit calmer. Now I'm being asked to jump through hoops. My dog has been to three daycares since I have owned him, he's the background on two of their Facebook pages because he's so well-liked there. Yet, he's discriminated against at this one for being a high-energy breed. I really expected more from The Doggy Den, but it's clear to me that they don't care about their customers and would rather label a sweet pup as, "possibly dangerous," than actually do their job and watch him. Which is what I paid a premium for over there. Don't expect to see any Pit Bulls or other "possibly dangerous," breeds there! However, the woman that works the front desk is really nice. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. This is hands down the best soggy daycare/boarding option in Columbus! Chris and the rest of the staff are incredible. Always helpful, attentive and accommodating. One of the best parts of Doggy Den is they let the dogs play outside instead of being cooped up in a tiny cage all day. Also, I love the fact that your dog has to be friendly toward other animals and humans to be allowed to go. This is a special place and Montana is always so happy to go! It's almost like he does not want to leave when we pick him up. Lastly, Montana sleeps for hours after we pick him up, he is so tired from playing with his puppy pals at Doggy Den!!! Never take your dog there. We took our six month old dog Golden doodle asked if they knew how to trim a golden doodle. Picked her up and she was shaven! Paw and bridge of her nose bleeding! Chris the owner could only say he was sorry sorry doesn't fix what they did to her I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Humane Society! We were also told to make sure we give her some Benadryl next time she came in! there won't be a next time! If you are in the grooming for dogs you should be able to handle the temperaments of puppies! read more

Took my Pit Bull to them in February .The place wreak of urine. My dog was puppy. That staff was friendly. i needed a boarder asap though and used them. Because staff was friendly wanted to use them again so I called for an appointment again for my now 7 month old puppy. I different guy answered and we went over the details about my dog and his breed since he was unfamiliar with my puppy. He said to bring him in. Upon doing so the same guy I spoke to over the phone turned my puppy away because he's a Pitt Bull and stated that. He never said so over the phone. He didn't even try to test my pups demeanor. Had he done so he wwould've seen that my puppy is totally people and dog friendl as trained him to be. I'll never use the doggy den again and don't rrecommend them to anyone. read more
