We have kenneled our dogs here a couple of times. It was a good experience and the dogs were well cared for.

They were waiting for me to keep apologizing however when someone messes up your dog, there is no apology that will work, you are furious which I was. Did I flip out? Yes.....more than I would any other time, after hair grows back. The comments from the groomer were what really set me off see below 'the jokes on you....I've groomed ur dog before and you loved it" "like I said I'm sorry.... lol....okay maam These were her responses to me, verbatim. So for me to be extremely angry when I picked him up is an understatement. Now they will come back and say, I was outraged.....I was....I used profanity.......absolutely mainly because they could care less that I was extremely upset over the exact thing I had asked the not to do. I guess at the end of the day I should have known better to take him to a groomer I did not have any history with. Completely unprofessional from the groomer to the manager, Never again, back to TLC groomers where they listen to the customer not to themselves. Denise Amato Westerville

I am not a "disgruntled" employee, I quit on my own terms respectfully. After DELETING my review on Google, I will turn here. If you care for the safety of your pet, please read the following.. Ever since a switch in management, both the RM and GM only care about money. Your dogs are not safe. The reason this location keeps ratings up is by reviews by employees and management themselves, which is deceiving and frankly, quite pathetic and sad. My OWN dogs were boarded here over the summer. My epileptic dog was not given her lifesaving medication because it was just placed in her food bowl (she doesn't usually eat at PS). The next day, my other dog was fed surrounded by her sisters diarrhea from the previous night. As an employee, I witnessed so many dogs come down with illnesses that were not disclosed to owners. One dog was leaking diarrhea constantly and the GM, Nickole, would not allow it to go to the vet unless it also vomited. Groups are always over the ratio of 25:1 which not only puts your dogs in danger, but also us as employees. Please exercise caution if you choose this awful business. The other places we had tried she kept to herself and at the Bark barn she was playing with the other dogs and was comfortable in the group. Gabi is excellent with our teenager, very receptive to Lana's needs and she & Karsten take very good care of her by providing tons of play, multiple walks and regular water breaks as needed. I love that they are very good with communication, they ask how we have trained her & use those commands and we get regular updates all day regarding how she is doing. The space is beautiful, clean and green and well-maintained. Their sweet dog Coco is an added bonus and she & Lana got along almost immediately. I highly recommend sending your pet(s) to The Bark Barn if you are in the Westerville/New Albany area. Gabi and Karsten are amazing pet sitters who are very receptive to the needs of your pet and genuinely care about how you want your pet taken care of/trained/special needs - which we found is a rare quality in other over-crowded daycares and which we really appreciate!

The owners are some of the nicest people. If they ever come off blunt or straight forward its solely because they want the safety of your dog to be a top priority. There's no purposeful harm of dogs that I've seen here. Everyone is very patient and loving with them. Not only that, but they genuinely seem to care about their employees. I've not once felt like a pawn rather than a person here, and I appreciate that as well. I will say we can't prevent EVERYTHING. If your dog is new to kennel environments or gets stressed easy the risk is your own. We can not prevent a dog from licking his paw too much and causing a hot spot at 2 am when everyones supposed to be sleeping... with that said, though, we do try to prevent anything we can because the safety of your dog is the top priority here. I know I've heard a story before that one of the girls working here told me where there were fireworks and she stayed until 1 am to keep a anxious dog company until the fireworks stopped... I can confidently say if we have to, anyone who works here would be willing to do the best for your dog in that type of situation The facility is very clean, it's cleaned thoroughly twice a day AT LEAST [meaning everything outside is sprayed down and everything inside is disinfected as well while keeping the dogs away from anything harmful] I mean the amount of times I windex the sink in a day is amazing... I personally would feel comfortable bringing my dogs here, and I do. What I've seen here when working has always been for the best interest of your pet, even at their own detriment

PLEASE READ, TRIGGER WARNING, ANIMAL ABUSE…read more Please do not take your animals here. About a year ago my partner and I took our two dachshunds here because our regular boarding place was booked. We picked them up after a week, and when we got them they seemed more distant and worn out than ever before. They looked heartbroken. The next day we wake up and our senior dog is covered in his own bloody poop and vomit. He is barely conscious and we rush him to medvet. He had to spend a week in intensive care. They let us know that he has developed an illness that can be induced by stress. 8,000 dollars later and our little guy is ok. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt until I was scrolling through Reddit and saw an anonymous post from an (ex) employee of this place saying that the manager is abusive towards the dogs and has a horrible anger problem. The owner has also apparently threatened this person for talking openly about their animal abuse. I am hoping people will see this review and take their dogs elsewhere.
