We rescued a 3 year old pitty mix and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We didn't know much about our pup other than that he needed a loving family. Our pup was a puller and so reactive on a leash and with other dogs. He pulled so hard on walks and lunged at dogs that we usually came home embarrassed, frustrated and super sore. We called Jollene and she came and did an at home evaluation. She evaluated his behavior as well as talked to us about what our expectations were. She went through different options and helped us pick a training program for us. At our first session I thought I would sit back and watch her work her magic. I didn't realize that the training began with me. She began right where I needed with the basics: leash holding, clear and consistent commands, making corrections and helping me feel more confident in my handling. After a few at home sessions Jollene took Jaxon for a week to give him some more one on one training. Jaxon came home a different pup. He was more engaged with us and more obedient. The only way this is done is through a free assessment and no quotes (beyond "from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars") are provided over the phone. The trainers came and we were horrified to see they used discredited training techniques with a lot of dogma, pseudoscience, and a choke chain. The school was not a fit for us and so be aware their mechanisms involve negative reinforcement which runs counter to current research trends (Ziv 2017). We are at week five with Ascia from Lorenzo's team and we are thrilled with the progress. Our puppy got aggressive toward us after he got to about six months old. He went from jumping around, barking, and pulling on his leash to being on his way toward listening to us. Most of the time when we tell him to stay in a spot when he is told "Spot", or he follows behind us when we walk and has even been sitting when we tell him "Sit". His training is not done yet but the experience has been very positive and with some additional sessions we believe he will get there. I cannot recommend positive reinforcement training enough. As you are researching training options for your dog, please considering positive reinforcement vs. this training. I've done both now and the difference is night and day. Lorenzo's uses "corrections" as a method of training, i.e. electric collars and tugging on prong collars. That is painful for a dog and adds more stress onto an already stressful situation. My dog actually had chunks of scabs from the prong collar pinching and breaking her skin after she came back from training. When your dog constantly lives in fear of what's going to happen if they move away from you or don't listen to you (tugging their prong collar or using the electric collar), none of their issues or fears are going to be resolved. Please take it from me and save your dog the stress. Also, I would like to add, my dog contracted mange while she was at this training. I took her in for a check up and when my vet noticed the hairless spots on her body, he tested her for mange. She tested positive and he said it was from the extreme stress she was under and told me to pull her from the board and train program that day. A couple of months ago I moved in with my girlfriend and her 10year old lab mix Tye. She has had Tye since he was a little puppy. Tye had a demonstrated history of being intense as she would describe it. Tye would jump up on the counters and take anything within his reach. Tye would obsess over his toys and no one could take them from him, not even her. Once I moved in Tye became protective over her even if I was hugging her. When she would be at work and I would have to tell him no or get him to go outside to potty, he would become extremely aggressive with me. Tye would growl, his hair would go up, he even attacked the sliding glass door in an attempt to scare me. We have continued weekly training sessions with CJ and the three of us for the last six weeks. Tye is like a different dog, he no longer attacks the door when someone knocks or rings the doorbell. Tye no longer helps himself to anything he wants, including food off the counter. Tye freely let's go of toys even brand new ones with squeakers when asked once to release it. Tye ignores distractions and other dogs when told to leave it. The icing on the cake is Tye, not only will sit or lay and stay, Tye is able to walk by our heel off leash on our walks. If I could put negative stars I would as this group took 4k from me to to train my dog how to sit and lay for 6 months (including Xmas). my baby was returned to me like she was in the pound for months and bloody from being in heat. On top of that, all she was trained to do is sit and lay. They use ruthless methods on your dogs like shock collars (which have been dropped off the shelves of places like petco). My wife and I have two corgi's. One of them had bitten my wife in the past, was aggressive towards other dogs and we were expecting a baby. On top of this both Corgi's became extremely aggressive towards each other. We had to keep them separated at all times, unless we wanted to risk getting a stray bite from trying to break them up. With a baby on the way I was faced with a decision. I could either get rid of one of the dogs, who was my first dog or look at alternative options: try to adopt out a dog known to be aggressive or probably end up euthanized. I was fortunate to be put in touch with Anton Yablonsky who scheduled a consultation came over and did an assessment based off of listening to our past history with the dogs. I love my dogs to death and was tearing up at the end knowing that I might have to say goodbye because I couldn't trust them around my child. Anton took the time to understand everything and both dogs were boarded once he could see that they both were aggressive towards each other. They were boarded for 6 weeks while he worked with them and what I appreciated was his honesty. They were initially scheduled to come back at 4 weeks, but he let me know that he didn't believe they were ready yet, so he kept them for an additional two weeks in order to ensure they were both properly trained. He did also stop by with the dogs, so we were able to see them in person during the training process which we both really appreciated because we did miss them. When our dogs were introduced back into our home, I was amazed at the change in their temperament. They are now calm, confident and well-behaved pets. We are truly able to enjoy our fur babies again! I can place them both on a doggy bed in my home office right next to each other and they will stay their all-day side by side without any aggression towards each other. They also understand commands on and off leash to a point where I said to my wife it's like they understand English perfectly now because they always listen to what I say. Walking with them is easy and I don't have to worry when another dog is walking towards them because they will follow my commands and sit while I speak with another dog owner. This is also true when I take them to the vet. The anxiety of having our dogs with a new baby in the house has subsided. I can't thank Anton Yablonsky enough for what he has done to save our dogs-literally. I went through hell getting my dog trained here. We definitely did get some training, but it wasn't worth the drama and trauma starting with Jason, then Lorenzo himself along with his assistant Rashied. I was emotionally abused and recently witnessed my dog being physically abused by the man himself. I wrote a review of my awful experience with Jason, but Lorenzo got me to remove it promising to complete the job himself by doing "three weeks of training in five days" for an additional amount totaling $2500 altogether. The dog isn't even crate trained. None of the behavior modification goals met. Was told the dogs problems aren't modifiable which is insulting to my intelligence Dogs issues are actually mild compared to some of the severely aggressive dogs they save from being put down. Oh yes, they love to play the gaslight also. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Hopefully I've saved someone reading this from the stress, abuse and trauma we've endured. I stayed and kept trying to fight for everything I'd already paid for as long as possible. Say one thing, do another, treat people like poop when it's convenient and don't even appear to care one bit, pretty much sums up my experience. Pretty sad and disgusting actually. Lorenzo is good at putting on quite a show, however I discovered the hard way what's hidden behind the show curtains. There was one woman trainer who I worked in group with that was very kind, personable and helpful although I sent her a dm asking for advanced training and gave compliments on her skills in which she forwarded to Lorenzo after which Lorenzo told me I couldn't return to her group because I was harassing her. Doug, I only expected originally stated goals to be met. I don't think anyone in their right mind would EXPECT or knowingly pay $2500 for this type of experience. Fahim Jan has completely changed my dog in the best possible way. I boarded her with him for four weeks and while the price was steep, it was a fantastic investment. Before training Harley was aggressive towards almost anything and even bit me a few times. She would react to any other animals on our walk and she would jump at me whenever she wanted something in my apartment. Fahim was EXCELLENT at communicating about her progress when she was boarded. I missed my girl but knew she was in good hands. He sent me tons of photos and videos updating me. And he met with me once a week with Harley to go over training so I could carry it over at home. Even now I can call Fahim with any new behavioral questions and he always has a response ready. He's a true professional and is so passionate about dog behaviorism. I boarded Harley in January with him and he is STILL helping me with her as needed. As a professional who works with behavior therapists for kids, I loved how Fahim explained every technique and strategy to me from a behavioral perspective in words I could understand. When he first introduced the prong collar I was extremely hesitant but he took the time to talk to me and answered every question and hypothetical I had to make sure I was on board with the methods used. Harley is also so much better psychologically and emotionally. She is calmer and doesn't have separation anxiety anymore. She walks on the leash with no pulling at ALL and she can stay in a down stay for upwards of an hour. She very rarely requires corrections now. The best part is she still has her amazing personality! My experience with this company was less than satisfactory and the marks left on my dog's neck was uncalled for. Got my dog back May 26th, picture below was taken July 4th -time stamped. Unfortunately, did not take a picture the day I got him back, didn't realize I needed proof. First trainer- Sheridan Rabes. Second trainer-Alexander Sands. Third trainer- Anton Yablonsky. Owner- Lorenzo. Experience:First trainer moved out of state without notifying me. Second trainer cancelled first appointment shortly before it was going to happen and rescheduled multiple others. Did not use a neck protector, got my dog back with multiple scabs, raw skin, and missing fur (fur still has not grown back fully months after). I felt the third trainer was not listening to me because I was repeating myself multiple times and kept being offered group sessions instead of home sessions where my dog's history of attacks/fights happened. I was accused of cancelling several sessions and attending different amounts of sessions that did not actually occur. I feel this whole experience has changed my view point on 5star reviews. I now feel I have to communicate with people only in writing and feel a need to verify what i am being told-due to a lot of he said, she said. Due to trying to stay positive i only wrote down good things as comments in my initial sessions (which i encountered being informed to trust the training method and do as they say, though we did not do sessions with my dog in the scenarios in which mine had attacked the other dog.) and I vocalized my concerns/complaints. I was not given the opportunity to write any comments for any of the follow up group sessions they offered. I felt thrown off when I found out other clients were told the group sessions were free for clients but I felt treated as if the sessions were an additional cost they waived. My dog went a month without interacting with the dog he previously attacked and attacked after I got him back. While I was at the cashier's line I couldn't help but to see this so composed, relaxed and beautiful dog sitting with her leash on her mouth right beside this man. It so happened that we both exit the store at the same time and my puppy was all over his dog barking and playing and she was so gentle! We brought my dog Cody in after experiencing pretty bad behavioral issues and aggression early on after I adopted him (to the point where I was hiding in rooms to stay away from him). Lorenzo and Rashied worked with him over and over again and even when he was struggling and difficult to work with. They boarded him several times for us as well when he needed extra work. They achieved amazing results with him and I definitely don't think we would have gotten there anywhere else. I will say the corrections had me intimidated at first and were difficult to watch. I was definitely worried my dog was going to hate/fear me or it would take away from his personality. This was not the case at all with Cody - he still has plenty personality and is very affectionate with us. They taught us that if you don't have your dog's respect first - affection and treats aren't going to achieve obedience, at least not in any real way. I don't know how this would work for very small dogs or dogs with anxiety. I guess I can't speak to any one else's case but my own. For me and Cody it worked wonders! He went from pulling on the leash, jumping up, lunging/biting at everyone (even myself) to being able to walk or ride a bike without the leash with him not leaving my side. Wow! I had a great Dane/boxer four-year-old dog that we had since birth and he bit a little boy. He began to exhibit aggression toward my daughter in the house as well. We didn't want to get rid of him so we looked for a dog trainer. Our vet recommended Lorenzo's Dog Training . We had them come out and do an evaluation and then we signed up for a five week session. Our trainers name was Adam. He was unbelievably good with George. George left us and spent five weeks with him at his home in very Structured training. I would recommend Lorenzo's Dog Training Team to any dog owner who wants a well trained dog. They understood my dogs needs and taught me how to reward good behavior and correct the bad. My Charley (my pit bull terrier) was a runner. She'd look at me with those innocent pit eyes and the moment I felt easy, she would take off down the street which could turn into a 2-3 hour foot chase (or car ride) of cat & mouse. After the consultation, where a choke collar and very aggressive methods were used on my older rescue dog, my dog has been acting more fearful, and his behavior has gotten worse after only one session with this trainer. These trainers use methods that only increase the level of anxiety in dogs, making already fearful dogs act out even more. Hiring Ashley at Lorenzo's Dog Training Team literally changed our lives. We knew our adopted 6 year old male border collie had aggression and dominance issues but learned how severe they were when he repeatedly attacked our 14 year old border collie and bit me one day while I was feeding him. This was one month after adopting him. The previous owner had attempted to give him to border collie rescue and other organizations but they wouldn't take him because of his aggression. After he bit me I thought we might have to put him down. I was concerned for our family's safety, especially for my 9 year old daughter. Ashley was our last call. Ashley came to pick up our dog - truly concierge service - and after several weeks of intense training and boarding he returned home. We could tell a difference immediately. Ashley came to our home several times over the next few weeks for in-home training sessions where we learned basic commands, new strategies to achieve desired behavior and appropriate ways to correct bad behavior. 2 weeks after he returned home, we can confidently have company over while he lays calmly in his "spot" until we invite him to come sit so they can pet him. He no longer lunges toward our guests, barking aggressively or jumping on them. When it's time to go outside he now patiently sits by the door until I give the command to go out, and same with coming inside. At feeding time I no longer have to tie his leash to a coffee table while preparing his food. Now he sits in his spot until I tell him to eat. I can even drop pieces of food at his feet that he will not touch until I say "ok". And a myriad of other impressive new behaviors. Ashley truly cares about her client animals and owners. Her support continues after the contract is complete. I've called her many times to ask how to address specific situations, and she always responds quickly with great advice that's worked every time. I do not recommend this company. I had a very very traumatic experience with them. My puppy contracted Parvo virus and almost died. Lorenzo verbally agreed to pay some of his hospital bills. When i had him transferred to the hospital he put his credit card on file but then refused to cover the bills. I feel it was a bait and switch. He was aggressive and extremely uncaring. He forced our trainers to stop talking to us and helping us. Our puppy is now untrained and it has cost over 3,000 in medical bills and 1250 for a training we did not receive. I just brought my 2 dogs to Lorenzo's today for an evaluation and to determine what my best options were. The trainers that I spoke with seemed very friendly at first. One of them was newer and somewhat seemed to be in training himself. I was immediately concerned when their first move was to bring out choke chains (called correction collars by some). What they did to my dogs was sickening. They used full strength to jerk and choke my dog to get him to walk with them, and my dogs were shaking in fear. They had a demo of what the expected results were to be. The dog that was used in the demo (and had been fully trained by them) was fearful and shaking. There was not a single tail wagging in there. I made a point to ask if dogs were even happy once they go through training with them, and of course they said yes. I truly believe the answer is no. I got in my car and cried because I was horrified by what just happened and what I saw. So go to Lorenzo's if you want your dog to be extremely obedient and also extremely afraid of you. All of the dogs looked like they had their spirits crushed. I could see these methods of training winding up causing aggression. I will obviously not proceed with training here. read more

Amanda Rehmer, based out of Kalispell, Montana did a great job training my pitbull, Hannah and myself actually. I learned so much in regards to how to help Hannah become the dog I knew she could be. Hannah walks on a leash like a perfect dog, teaching her that has been invaluable and makes our walks 100% more enjoyable. Hannah looks to me for guidance, and our bond has strengthened so much. I had gone through 2 other trainers before really finding the help I needed in Amanda. The course is not cheap, but it was worth every dime. I would encourage to make your expectations clear in the beginning so everyone is on the same page. This means our dog should be able to ride in the elevator without barking/biting/maiming any other creature (human or otherwise) in the elevator. We get one shot at this. If this happens once, our dog goes away - for good. Our Dog: Rhodesian Ridgeback (Lorenzo's Training started when pup was 6 months old). Before Lorenzo's: We tried three different no-pull harnesses We tried the gentle leader. We tried the motion-restrictive harnesses. We tried a prong collar. We tried three different puppy training and obedience classes. We tried treats - ranging from puppy treats to cheese. Nothing helped. Our Issues: After 3 months of intensive puppy training with three different certified trainers in the Phoenix-metro area, we were at our absolute last straw. We had leash aggression issues. While the pup was perfectly normal off leash, he always wanted to go and play with other dogs while on a leash. This resulted in a lot of barking and pulling. My wife was in tears when he almost pulled her down when he was just 4.5 months old and at 45 lbs. People would avoid us in the elevators and public areas. It was quite humiliating. Ridgebacks are very stubborn dogs. Ours was no exception. He was not food-motivated at all. He could care less about the dog treats (or string cheese) if he'd decided he wanted to chase down another dog. For us, there was no such thing as a "high-value" treat. When we could not control our 45 lb. puppy at the Vet for a routine exam, the Vet recommended Anton and Carmen at Lorenzo's stating they had seen meaningful results with Lorenzo's. Our Experience: In one word, Outstanding. Anton Yablonsky and Carmen McNamara were our trainers. During the hour-long evaluative session, Anton and Carmen watched us handle the dog - and basic commands. Then, came the moment of truth. Anton calmly began handling the dog. Within the first 5 minutes, he made our rambunctious puppy "down-stay" for 10 minutes. We can confidently say that Lorenzo's is the only reason why we have such a well-behaved, well-adjusted, friendly yet playful dog. There is no drama in our household. The trainers start sessions with leash handling techniques. And then, depending on training goals and the dog, you get a customized training recommendation. In our case, we just wanted a happy, well-behaved dog. When Anton and Carmen casually mentioned that they can make our dog walk off-leash in less than 3 months, we thought they overestimated their capabilities. Thankfully, we were proven wrong. We wholeheartedly endorse Lorenzo's training methods - and specifically Anton and Carmen. Our Results: Our dog is now just over a year old. After 12 sessions with Carmen and Anton, we can do the following with our dog with absolute confidence: -- Walk off-leash. -- Run off-leash - in downtown Phoenix with distractions ranging from dump trucks to rabbits. -- Recall - Every time we call our dog back, he comes. Without fail. Every. Single. Time. -- Kids - plays exceptionally well with kids. Attached is a photo of a 1.5 year girl playing with the dog's ball. Note the dog calmly waits for the ball to drop rather than jumping up and down in excitement. -- At restaurants, the dog will "down-stay" while we eat. Often, people won't notice we have a 80 lb. dog sitting under our table. -- At a public place, he will maintain a close "heel" position. This way, we walk our dog (and not the other way around). -- Boundary training - calmly waits in his "spot" or his "crate" with an open door until asked to come and greet anyone at the door. Kristen and Lorenzo's Dog Team saved my dog's life! I got my puppy from a rescue organization. I expected that I would need to train puppy behavior (potty training, leash, etc), but this puppy had what I thought was a mean streak. A friend of mine recommended a trainer which I hired. The techniques he provided made my puppy more aggressive. That trainer told me just to get the shock collar. I never thought I would be one of those people, but after 2 weeks I called the rescue organization and told them I would need to return the puppy. They asked me to give it one more try with their trainer, Kristen McHenry from Lorenzo's. She came and witnessed the aggression as he bit her and she started bleeding. She told me she would need to take him for a month of training and bring him back on weekends to teach my family the basic techniques. Under her guidance, he transformed into a different dog. It's like he now understands where he fits in the family. He is loving and the dog my kids have always dreamed of. I can't help but think if I returned him, he went to another home and bit someone...they probably would have put him down. And he is the MOST amazing, loyal dog! Lorenzos is AMAZING! top notch, when I got word that my dog attacked another at "doggy day care" (my fiancé is deployed so she goes to get her energy out while I'm at work) I immediately spoke to my vet (dr. Varela, ps he's top notch too) the first words out of his mouth were Lorenzos dog training. I have never been steered wrong by my vet so I leapt at the opportunity! The evaluation went great, I've never seen my Roxy obey anyone like that! After the first training session (completed tonight) I already see a difference in Roxy. She listens and stay means stay now. I still have more sessions to go and look forward to them, our trainer is James and he does excellent with her, couldn't ask for better. You will get their leather leash and training collar with your training that works better than anything you could buy at petsmart (call me crazy) but did you know there is a wrong way to put on a "choke collar"?! I didn't, until now! I got a phone call confirming the appointment today which was nice to see they keep track of their clients and follow up. Sounds like the other comment may have been a fluke, i haven't had an issue yet. I couldn't say enough great things about this program! We are getting a military discount, which is great (thank you Lorenzos for your support) the only reason I still give this 4 stars instead of 5 is even with the discount it's very pricey (in my opinion). On Leash training and off leash training are two separate things that need to be paid for along with anything else. I wish there was an all inclusive package that could be discounted because you do everything...I would JUMP with excitement at the sight of that package. Now of course we don't make all the money in the world so this may not be expensive for others like it is for us. In November of 2014 I adopted eight month old Naji from a very loving family (they chose to place him out as they were aging and he had become very strong; 70 pounds then, 83 pound and three years old now). Naji's a blue bully-mastiff mix who tends to be dominant/non-aggressive on-leash, similar to two dogs that I'd previously fostered. Kiley has worked with Naji since he was about two months old. The foundation she and the Lorenzo's method have laid are nothing short of exceptional. Their method of socialization relies upon dogs knowing when to look for guidance from the owner as well as how to down stay next to another dog. Social dogs don't necessarily have to interact. This method has suited me well as I travel with him often -- he's balanced, happy, and knows at this point to follow my lead (he heels at crosswalks, sits at stop signs, sits before entering or leaving a building, rides calmly in the lifted Jeep Wrangler I bought for him, is gentle with my elderly family members as well as the young children everyone seems to be having, and is more often than not a support animal for anyone he is with). Oh, he's also a gentle giant who is sometimes more scared of toy breeds than of those his own size. Of note, I reside in Tampa, FL but Kiley lives four hours away in the Miami Metro area. Post-adoption, I travelled to Kiley for individual lessons; this was not cost-effective but not one trainer in Tampa gave me a good feeling). Naji had everything behaviorally in place except for still being dominant on-leash upon introduction to other dogs. Under Kiley's tutelage I learned that I was the problem; he never acted up with her. (Side note: she has and still does utilize Naji as her "demo dog" -- she brings him to vets offices and training classes for behavioral demonstration.) We worked to correct this, and only when I was back in Tampa, without Kiley, did he misbehave. Nothing violent but man he can be loud. During the times I doubted myself (past experience with situationally aggressive bully breeds left me hesitant), Kiley has always been available for a phone call or FaceTime session, and always with a serious dose of encouragement for me. Eventually I myself made the decision to use an electrostatic shock collar, not Kiley or Lorenzo's decision as they didn't need it for reinforcement, I did. After three walks, Naji didn't bark at another dog. At this point, unless I am going out to eat in a public place will I utilize this collar, which I believe to be a behavior modification tool. If you have issues with this please know that when used appropriately it is truly an effective way of breaking a bad habit. Anddd to wrap this long love story up, even when not under "command" Naji is relaxed and balanced. These are keys to a safe and happy home life. Cost: priceless. I recently finished a 3 month training program for my 2 badly behaved boxers. I worked with a wonderful young man named Fahim Jan. My dogs behaved badly on their walks, lunging at other dogs and people, they would not listen to my commands, they would beg while I cooked, they would never stay put when I told them to do so and they fought with each other. I was ready to try to find one of my dogs a new home. I truly never imagined that my dogs would behave in a civilized way. But Fahim was amazing and systematic in his approach to training. He taught me how to work with my dogs in a patient calm way that I could understand. I had worked with other trainers in the past and I never made any progress with my dogs. I was so impressed with Fahim and his wonderful ability to communicate with dogs and with me! I would recommend him and his company to anyone that has a dog. read more

We just began a 4 week session for our 4 month old German Shepherd Dog. Before hiring a trainer we researched a lot and talked with quite a few trainers. We are not inexperienced but are certainly are not professionals when it comes to dog training. Immediately upon meeting our trainer we were impressed with how she interacted with our dogs. I have been training with Lorenzo's Dog Training for a few months now with great results! Our puppy, Reno, started with Nathan at about 10 weeks with the typical puppy issues (distraction, biting, chewing, not listening in general) and is now so well trained.
