The place is very clean and has every option for all pets. (Pets hotel, training, vet, grooming) the only bad part about the store they do not hold a lot of stock on the shelves. The dog food I wanted they were out of. Also I don't understand if you bring your dogs in the store clean up after them. It is the same as if you were walking your dog by your house. read more

This review is only for the store (I've never used the grooming services or the attached vet). I've found Petsmart to be a reliable place to buy cat supplies, the prices are usually reasonable and the selection is pretty good. As anyone who has a cat knows good quality clumping kitty litter is one of history's greatest inventions, and Petsmart sells really big bags of the stuff at low prices (the price per lb. shoots up at places where you can only buy smaller bags or boxes.) They also sell big bags of Blue Wilderness cat food. I'm not really looking for much else in a pet supply store. read more

I normally have a great experience here but starting today I will no longer choose this pet store . I recently needed to get some things fora kitten and I accidentally left the cat litter at the bottom of the cart . When I called to see if anyone had turned it in they said no and that even though I was just THERE they can not replace it. Why would I lie about loosing cat litter when I LITERALLY WAS JUST THERE! I only live 11 mins from this location . I purchased at 12:27 pm loaded my car got gas and arrived home at 1:00 pm and noticed I did not have the item . I called the store at 1:04 pm so where's the lie?! It's very unfortunate people are not honest and no one returned it but it's more unfortunate that I was treated like the liar. Most stores even grocery stores will replace the item . Even TARGET has replaced items I left behind . This is just totally unacceptable. The kicker is the store manager Nicole was the one that helped me with my purchase selections and showed no sympathy knowing that I'm new to owning a pet . Word of advice compassion goes a lot farther in life than being insensitive . I spent $112.89 at that establishment today and just Monday I spent $104 for my birds . I came today to this location to pick up some puppy food, that legit was sold out everywhere else. I decided to bring my puppy with me on the trip, to try and get him used to the car. Big fail. He got sick in the front seat of my her :( poor pup. So when I got there and called to let them know I was there for CURBSIDE PICKUP, I asked if they could bring me some paper towels and explained the situation. I took my dog here for grooming. It was her first time so I was a bit worried about her expereiene and how she would look. After about 2 hours they called me back and told me she was ready to pick up. The lady on the line told me she's a bit uneven but it will get better each time she gets used to getting groomed. When I went in to pick her up....I honestly didn't really notice the unevenness. She was so cute and happy to see me. I would definitely go back here again for my baby's grooming needs. read more

I am terribly disappointed with PetSmart products. There fencing supplies are a joke. We bought a brand new hand control shocking collar and after the fourth time it quit working. The wiring was bad. As for a underground shocking fence the collar would not shock consistently. Sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't. How can you train a dog with collars like that? I strongly discourage anyone buying their fencing products. I will never pay hundreds of dollars for a joke like those collars. Terribly disapointed read more

Visited 7/14-I have been coming to Petsmart for years. They seem to always treat my dogs very well. When my oldest Layla stays at the vet for a few hours, I come to get her and she is always in someone's arms walking around the store or hanging out in the managers office or walking around back with the Nurses. Been happy with the grooming salon as well. I only had one time when I needed to have her hair on her head cut shorter. They fixed it no problem and always ask me if I am happy and if not to bring her back. They always treat both my dogs very well. Will continue to use all the services at Petsmart. read more

Ahh- holiday time. The time when retailers are at the top of their game and ready to handle large crowds...wait, what? PetSmart didn't get the memo? Came here at some point between Christmas and New Years to pick up some cat litter. This is literally the easiest thing in the world to do. I go to PetSmart and don't see the litter out, so naturally I go and ask one of the staff members in that section if they can help me. She tells me "I can't help you with the cat litter, because I'm a cat nutrition person". Uh, okay? I didn't realize it was that complicated. So then I ask her if she can just tell me if the cat litter is in stock, and she tells me I can go up front and see if I can catch one of the cashiers in between transactions and get them to go to the back and see if there's any more left. -______- I just bought whatever other litter I could find and left. It's really mind-boggling how a company can understaff or just not teach their employees how to handle being busy during LITERALLY THE BUSIEST TIME OF THE YEAR. read more

This place is the absolute worst as far as supposedly taking care of your pets when you leave them there for any amount of time. Dropped my year old english lab there for 3 days to attend a funeral in California, upon my return to pick him up he has kennel cough and some outbreak of kennel sores on his joints and to make matters worst he has a cold with runny nose,mucus the whole nine like a kid or adult. I've been calling and leaving messages for the manager for almost a week and was never even contacted. Upon picking him up the front desk kid said that this always happens at this location to check out the reviews, and that most of the time the pets don't have any chance to not come in contact with some sort of ailment after a night or two there. I called corporate only to be left on hold for 45 minutes then the operator says it will probably be another 45 before someone could assist me which i'm at work and can't sit around all morning on hold on the phone..What an utter failure to protect my dog and even acknowledge the mistakes and help with a soultion..Youv'e definitle lost my business and anyone else I can warn about your shady pet hotel that has dogs sleeping on cold concrete floors. read more

The staff was friendly, was able to make an appointment on Saturday and get in on Sunday, which is pretty hard to get. I have a Yorkie, and the lady who helped me, asked if I just wanted a yorkie cut for her face. I was pretty disappointed when I picked her up, because the face does not look like a yorkie cut what so ever. No one bothered to ask how I liked her cut even after I indirectly kept saying, your hair is so short. Going to just have to ask around, and see who can cut Yorkie's hair well, and not just chop off their hair. read more

I order online and pick up my stuff at this store. When I get there, I have to look for someone to help me. They only have one cashier who always has a long line. There is no manager in sight or any other staff. However, when you do find someone, they are very nice and get my things. The place is just frustrating to deal with. They accept PayPal for online orders and that's the only reason I go. I've learned to only order the basics online as well. If I try to order toy items or sale, they say they have it, but they don't when I pick it up. read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. The store manager Priscilla, is incredibly rude. I have shopped at this store for over 20 years and never have I encountered such a rude person. She does not like to price match and gives me a hard time about any purchases I make in her store. She tells me that I have to do the math myself if I wish to do any price matching. Not only must I show the ad, which I have no problem doing, but I must also figure out how much each item costs. When I called customer service they were of no help. All I wanted was an apology for this woman's attrocious behavior to me because she has been so rude. Instead all I got was we'll check into it and perhaps if you're going to be purchasing large orders you can call ahead and let the store know so that they'll be aware. We often take our dogs here for Doggie Day Camp. They love it! They come home so exhausted that we practically have to carry them to bed. Most of the employees are really nice and they actually get to know you and your dogs. There are a few that are friendly, but definitely just look at it as a job. They require all the dogs to get vaccinated, but after we picked our two dogs up after a weekend one of them had kennel cough. It's really easily transmitted (and a dog can catch it from another one before the first one is showing any symptoms), so I can't blame them too much. I definitely recommend them if you need to get your dog exercise or you're going to be out of town! read more

Made an appointment in store 3 weeks prior I enformed them of her age (4 months) and they said it was fine. called a couple of times before her appointment with general questions and they still said it was fine. Got to the salon, the lady who greeted us was rude then another groomer came out (who was a lot more rude) to tell us she can't get groomed because she didn't have her rabies shot. This store Is exactly what is wrong. I tried to take my dog to get groomed. They didn't have the decency to even wait until I was out of the store before they rough handled him. I have never met a single employee yet with a friendly attitude. We have a dog with food allergies and petsmart is the only store that sells the food we need. First, let me start with how obnoxiously condescending the hipster reptile guy was. I don't know how he stocks shelves or does anything practical in his tight, Bieber-esque pants, but who am I to judge? Apparently, he felt he was the person to judge, as he flippantly discounted every advice I offered a friend buying a chameleon. My experience with reptiles, however meager, consists of the following: I've had 2 racer snakes, a leopard gecko, 3 skinks, 3 anoles and a number of frogs and toads. Okay, so I don't work at Petsmart, but this guy was seriously rude. On top of it, he made me friend feel like an idiot for asking even the most basic question. He had her buy 2 heat lamps, on the basis that one could break...okay, like Petsmart isn't a chain with locations accessible in most places? Come on! He was clearly trying to sell her the most stuff he could. I was amazed he didn't try and get her to buy one of those cheesy "themed" plastic sets for the tank's decor. Now, my second gripe with this place is the apparent treatment and relationships with their shelter animals...or lack there of. Now, I'll start by saying I never saw any employee interact with these cats, but I was surprised to see how little info was filled out for each. Some of these cats had vaccination dates in 2013, so they've had them for some time. There were no notes about their personalities or anything! It seemed to me these poor animals sit in their cages, small children pressing and poking at the glass, waiting for some kind soul to take them. I was heart broken knowing I couldn't take them all. All in all, I'd save yourself the hassle of the staff here. We came in to get cat litter, my friend left with a 300$ 5-7 year investment. In addition to this side tracking, I noticed they had probably 20 employees in the store, most of whom seemed to just be standing around, waiting to help someone (though not offering us help till we'd be been there 20 minutes). We just picked up our dog after leaving her there for a two night stay. Everything looked fine until we got into the car and started down the road. She smelled like straight-up urine. I realize that I said, no to the grooming. Really? Did I turn her into them smelling like urine, NO! Her usual place, she doesn't get groomed either, but when I pick her up, she looks and smells fine. Never again! If we can't get her into usual place, we won't go, or will take her with, if possible. I had a grooming appointment for my dog and was satisfied with the end result, but one of their groomers and their customer were totally ignorant. They had a process where only one fur family was allowed at a time, due to Covid, which is perfectly fine. I was waiting in line to pick up my dog after payment, when someone came up to drop off their dog. He grabbed the attention of one of the staff going into the grooming room and said that he had an appointment and would like to drop off their dog. The employee said that there is a line and would be helped out on their turn. Stephanie, the groomer, comes out and decides to let her client cut the line, stating that he was only dropping off the dog and that she would help him next. To that I replied I'm here to pick up my dog and what difference would that make and that he should wait in line like everyone else. I was totally ignored by both Stephanie and her client and they walked into the room leaving me exasperated. Stephanie needs to realize that she and her clients should not be prioritized over other customers following their company's procedures. Also, dude was oblivious or felt like he should be prioritized as well, probably the latter. read more

I love Petsmart over Petco. Today my daughter decided to spend her Birthday money on a bearded dragon and the service was excellent. The knowledge of the staff was great even helped us decide what we wanted as far as care for the dragon. The price for the dragon and cage all combined was very inexpensive leaving my daughter with money to spare. There would've been 5 stars but once we got home the cage was broken in to pieces and we immediately took it back to the store. Once at the register the cashier looked at me with my 5 kids and said are you sure you didnt kick it around a few times or drop it!? To me I find that offensive, but to others it might not be. Also the cage was missing a lamp and she questioned me as if I had taken it out the box. I really dont care for that type of service at all and may not return because of her. read more

I would always give 5 stars to the pet's hotel for dog camp but am pleased to say that today's rating is for the grooming salon! After a lot of skepticism in my last two visits the last was great. In the past my dog was groomed by Steve...while the haircut was great I watched him grab was dog's face aggressively and grit his teeth at my dog through the glass when he thought no one was watching. It was awful. Then, I was charged two times out if nowhere for having them shape up my dog's Mohawk. This time though...what a difference. First off, when I called for my appointment I was informed that there was an error and I should have only been charged if the Mohawk was colored and gelled. I was credited for the mistake but when I came in the manager had no idea about the actual policy and was quite unfriendly. Again, Heather was helpful in this. My dog came in shaking uncontrollably as he always does now since our bad experience. Heather was super sweet with him and reassuring. My family and I came home a day earlier then expected from our vacation. We had our small dog still at the pet hotel for one more day and I called to see if we can get our pet a day ealier. Unfortunatly it was getting to be close to closing time but Melissa and pet hotel front desk asked her manager to see if she can stay after closing so we can bring our little guy home. The store and their staff are always very friendly and helpful but . . . . we took our dog in on Saturday, December 8, 2018 for the Santa photo and we never received the email with the picture. I can see waiting for 24 hours as we saw many folks there with their pups but it's Wednesday, December 12 and no Santa pictures. We also made a $5 donation (not that this matters but still). Good thing we took our own pictures, they encourage you to do so (I wonder why) or it would have been a waste of our time and no way we are ever going back for a Santa photo. A call was not taken serious . . . . "sometimes the email with the picture doesn't go through". Really? That's it for PetSmart Santa pics. We will not be in town this coming weekend (December 15/16) for the Bark in Clarksville Santa pictures so we thought PetSmart this year to keep the tradition going. I made an appointment a few days ago to have my dog groomed and asked if there was anything I need to do and the person on the phone said no. Today, at 7 am I bring my dog to the groomer and they said I need rabies paperwork, will not accept the tags he has, and the vet is closed. The person I spoke with never mentioned I needed this, I was at the vet yesterday with him I would have gotten it. I specifically asked if there was anything I had to bring and they said no. So I drove from DC to the groomer because it's near my parents house where the dog lives to be turned now because of their mistake. They were not understanding or apologetic at all. The writers of Monty Python's classic "dead parrot" skit must have had a psychic future vision of the cynicism at Petsmart in Columbia MD. My daughter returned a very sick chinchilla that was dying in her arms. The store manager was defensive and argumentative. "We'll give it some liquids and antibiotics," he said before hustling the motionless animal to an unseen veterinarian supposedly in the back room. "Actually, I don't think anyone here knows how to treat chinchillas," he then confessed. My wife and crying daughter had the humiliation of waiting in line at the service counter with the dying animal, even though she had called ahead to say she was bringing a critically sick animal to see their vet. They got about as much compassion from Petsmart as you'd expect from returning a broken toaster to Wal-Mart. All the manager wanted to do was get the dying animal out of sight and do a hasty refund to get my family out of the store. This is sickening if it is representative of the Petsmart corporate culture. Their theme song should be from the Steve Miller Band's: "Take the Money and Run." Petsmart's managers might do better being trained to sell vacuum cleaners, which already suck. read more

We brought our border collie/newfoundland mix here for 1 week of boarding and doggie daycare. When I went to pick her up, she was a mess. She was shedding everywhere and I knew that something was very wrong. The receptionist assured me that she had a "Great" time at doggie day camp. As I was waiting for them to find my dog's leash and collar (which they never found and had to give me replacements), I asked again about her day camp. Once again the receptionist told me that she was great. At that point, another worker was walking through the reception area and said "Cleo was never in day care". The receptionist tried to get her to change her mind saying "yes she was...". The worker came back stating that she had worked with the day camp dogs all week and my dog was not there. After a lot of back and forth, the manager was called in to refund my doggie day camp fees. I waited for the general manager to call me to explain what had happened with my dog for a week. I had to contact PetSmart Corporate offices before someone in the Columbia store called me back. He was less than helpful and was not able to explain anything that occurred. I would not trust any animal to PetSmart ever again. They not only did not do what I payed for, they lied to me and tried to cover up their mistakes. read more

Something told me to go check on him so around 1:30 I walked in peeped through the window didn't see my baby. I went in and asked if Spencer was done and everybody looked surprised. So by their confused faces I was pissed again I asked where is my baby? Finally one said he is not finished I sais is he getting worked on or what. Trust, care, and convenience is their motto. While, I have to say it's convenient, I absolutely do not trust them or trust that they cared for my dog the happy-go-lucky way that they advertise. Took my dog there for a 2 night stay and he doesnt seem like the happy dog that he was when I dropped him off. He's usually energetic but every since I picked him up, he will hardly move or eat. He was supposed to get an exit bath, but they said he was growling too much, so they couldnt do it. Now, I know my dog and the only time he's ever growled is when he's feels rough-handled... like when the vet tries to give him liquid medicine and 4 people have to hold him down to do it (he's 190 lb Great Dane). So something happened in their care he looks the saddest I've ever seen him look and I cant even get him to move. Best believe I'll never use this place again... and if you value your pet, you won't use them either!! read more
