We love how happy Bucky is to go to Camp Bow Wow! It's a testament to the bounty of affection and attention each counselor gives to every camper. There is no need for us to be anxious about how Bucky is doing throughout the day, either. Between the daily pictures on social media and the ability to check-in on the live camp cams, we can always see how much fun he's having. This is especially helpful when we have to travel and he has an extended stay at Camp. We still miss him, of course, but we can rest easy knowing that he has the best of care while we're away. We can also set up some one-on-one playtime as an extra treat (just him and a counselor) or try out their new peanut butter Picasso puppy paintings! The availability of basic grooming on-site is an added bonus. We used to take Bucky to a popular pet chain for grooming, but now we just get him a puppy spa day as we like to call it - a full day of play followed by a nail trim, teeth cleaning, a bath, and some fresh cologne (typically blueberry or lavender). On the puppy parent side of the house, the staff and counselors are always very courteous, kind, polite, and helpful! We have never had a negative interaction or experience at Camp Bow Wow. They keep us apprised of Bucky's behavior and let us know if an illness is spreading in the community (whether or not it has impacted any campers yet). This is especially helpful when Bucky needs a vet visit, as it provides a more holistic picture for us to relay. All in all, we love everything about Camp Bow Wow and would recommend it to anyone seeking open-play doggie day care! We will definitely keep going here and will bring any future pups along.

A staff member overheard her talking and said oh sorry your dog shredded it the first night. So, our dog was without her bed for four nights and no one bothered to inform us? We also found out by that same person that they threw out her dog toy because there was feces all over it... Again you didn't think to tell us about this? That's pretty serious because my dog had diarrhea when we picked her up yesterday and this morning. Could that be the reason??! I also found out that they had over 100 dogs yesterday!

When talking with them, they recommended their puppy orientation (which is more like a tailored training session to cover general information and whatever you specifically want to talk about), the cost of which goes towards the bootcamp, so you aren't losing anything in taking the class. I was already going to proceed with the bootcamp, but after our session, I was even more excited for our pup to go. Jessi worked with our 14-week puppy for just about two hours, during which time she made huge strides in her "leave it" and in walking and jumping. Jessi gave me easy tips that I used the next day on a walk, and it was like a night and day experience in getting her to heel. I can't wait for her to attend her bootcamp. Another huge perk to this location (and something I specifically wanted when searching for locations) is they also do general overnight boarding, where they will keep up her training. You can even leave notes about specific concerns if you did their bootcamp with them. They are also so so close to BWI, which is great for us in planning boarding. Given a choice, he would go live with his trainer Connor. No questions asked. He LOVES Connor. When he comes for boarding or on Connor's home visit Nelson was/is a puddle of love. We have continued to work with him on our own, using the commands, and now a year plus later he walks off leash most of the time, leaves squirrels and everything else on command and does the right thing 99% of the time.
