On Saturdays they open at 9:30, I arrived maybe 10:45ish and I was number 43 when I signed in. That's not too horrible but the wait time was byyyy farrrr the longest wait time I have ever experienced. At first I was a bit confused why the wait time was so long and the front receptionist said the wait would probably be about 2 hours after I signed in and they would call. Since I lived about 30ish minutes away I decided to wait with my pup inside my car (big big mistake he was so antsy after 20 minutes). Nonetheless I finally got called inside to get seen by approximately 3ish. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes and then I was seen. Once inside the exam room everything was pretty much smooth sailing. The vet nurse/tech explained the everything and did not hesitate to answer questions, she was very thorough and was easy to talk to. She overlooked my documents, and when the vet doctor came in he then overlooked my documents as well. They gave their recommendations and sent me on my way. All in all the actual visit was probably less than 30 minutes but the wait time was WILD. I will definitely be returning and making sure I get there EARLY if I go on a Saturday. Despite the wait time the prices were super affordable.

In my most recent visit, I walked into the clinic (as they don't take appointments) thirty minutes after they opened and my puppy was the 35th on the waitlist. They have a very simple process where you walk-in, complete an intake form if your pet is new, and sign in with your contact information. You then wait in the car until one of the office assistants calls you to tell you to bring your pet in. From there, you'll likely wait another 15-20 minutes before your pet is seen. On Saturday, I waited for three hours before I was seen. The vet and vet tech were professional and kind, and I appreciated the assistants at the front desk. The wait was annoying, but this clinic is a lot more affordable than going to the vet or even Petco. I would recommend if and only if you can go when they're open on a weekday.

So I started perusing the Barc's website, looking for someone new to sidetrack me, and to love. Once we were at the shelter, I let Jeremy pick out our new family members. He wanted an orange moron, since we've never had one of those, and a kitten... you go back and check out the three rooms of cages, write down who you want to meet, and they call you back to open the cages so you can handle the cat... see how it reacts, see how you react. First cage, first room, this skinny little tortie, with giant ears locked eyes with Jeremy and it was love at first sight. We named her Mazikeen Star... she's been with us for a week now and she's living up to her demon name in the best way possible. She's a snuggler, under the blankets, purring her ass off, happy as can be, lovebug. She's also already earned the name MaziQueen, because her two pound ass thinks she's in charge and isn't afraid to let our other two cats know it. Then, to complete the set, Jeremy also decided on the last cat, in the last cage. He's a orange and white fluffy loveable sweetheart. He was also sick. They tried to talk us out of taking him because he was being medicated and needed eye drops, but Jeremy started pouting and they relented. We still had to wait until the next day to pick them up because they needed to be spayed and neutered. Yesterday we took Cooper Sharp (our Creamsicle boy) to the vet and ran up a $500+ bill because he was still so congested it was clearly difficult for him to breathe and the medicine the shelter gave us had run out several days before. He sneezed bloody mucus all over Jeremy and so we took him in for an emergency appointment. They sent us home with nose drops, two different meds, and a bunch of other stuff. He has a respiratory infection, which is highly contagious. So much so that the vet and tech wore disposable gowns while handling him so they wouldn't infect the other patients. And they instructed us to wait outside until they had an exam room ready so we wouldn't be in the waiting room. When we left, we went through a side door. He's doing better today, and I hope by the time he finishes this round of meds, he'll be better than he ever was. I'm looking forward to spoiling these guys and giving them the best lives ever.

I began fostering a young dog from BARCS back in January…read more Had her for nearly 2 months before she was adopted. She was adopted by a family in mid March. I was instructed to bring her in for spaying before handing her over to the adopter family. Dropped off the dog early on the appointed morning for spaying and was told to return at 4pm to pick her up. Arrived to pick her up and she was brought out by an attendant, handed over to me and I was told she had already been spayed. It was obvious she had been sedated and was groggy and whimpering. Now, I had asked BARCS after I got her in January if she had already been spayed because it was obvious she had been shaved for surgery. Poor girl, they almost cut on her again for no reason. It gets better. The adopter family had her for less than 2 days before they contacted me wanting to get rid of her. She could be a handful and I knew how to handle her and had instructed them not to return her to BARCS or any other shelter. I took her back into my home and intended to keep her permanently. After she was adopted, she was no longer property of BARCS. A week ago, BARCS blows up my phone and email and wants her returned so they can do an intake on her. I question them about why and told them they had no rights to ownership any longer. Stupidly, I took her back to BARCS and was told she would be returned to me in 3 days. 3 days goes by and they tell me she has been adopted by another family. Monday evening (04/20) I look at their site and there she is available for fostering or adoption. Apparently, the family that adopted her could not have a pet where they lived. Was this true? I have my doubts. I reach out and tell them I will be down Tuesday morning to adopt her. Before leaving to go get her, I see an email from Veronika Graham informing me this animal has been placed in a "rescue shelter" and is not available to be adopted. Well, I smelled bullshit and told Veronika Graham as much. I questioned her how none of this adds up, but she has not and I do not expect a response from her. BARCS lied and removed an animal from a good home. Mine. On one hand, I respect an organization that does good things for animals in need. On the other, it is quite apparent one hand does not know what the other hand is doing there in their offices. I never should have returned this animal to these people. Now, I will most likely never see her again.

First I want to make sure everyone knows that the front desk ladies are very nice and understanding and just doing what they are told. But, the vet himself is a complete jerk. Mom noticed what looked like tape worm in both of her dogs feces. She took the samples in just to get confirmation on which type of worms they were so that we could treat for them. The worms were very clearly visible on and in the feces that were given. The lab test for both came back negative! My mom called and sent them the pictures of the feces with the worms and said there is no way! She requested a refund because they very clearly have some type of worms. Waiting for the vet to call back the next day, he called and said, I don't know why the test came back negative but your dogs do have worms. Well, Mr Rocket scientist. We already know that! What kind of worms? And why did I pay you to test my dogs so I could get a treatment plan and you tell me they have worms but they couldn't say which kind because their test didn't work. Just made a suggestion on the type. Are these people even sending the test out? Are the test faulty? And why am I paying you if you're not giving me the accurate results. The vet said, well, that's what happens sometimes. Well, that didn't help me at all. We want our money back because he diagnosed our dogs with worms based on his visual inspection of the pictures we sent to them. No confirmation on the type of worm. I call that stealing customers money. He refused to refund. Highly do not recommend this place strictly based on the arrogance of this vet and his unwillingness to make things right. We just threw away $100 for nothing. Can I give them no stars?!
