They told me they could not see her right away but recommended I take her to an urgent care. I was surprised, because isn't that the reason you have a relationship in the first place, for when there's an emergency, to get her seen? It turns out she was diagnosed with diabetes and then had to go to another place for an overnight at the Cat hospital. I was told she should be seen by her regular vet for follow up. Everhart was unable to give me a follow up appointment other than having come in all day and stay in a crate to be seen. I did that, which severely traumatized her.It also made her blood sugar, skyrocket, which is exactly the condition I was coming into have get better, not worse. A few weeks later, she developed breathing problems. I again called Everhart during normal business hours explained the situation and was told I could not bring her in. They said "we are closing soon", even though I live five minutes away and they were still open for another hour. They told me repeatedly how shortstaffed they were because one vet was out on maternity leave and another was on her honeymoon. I'm sorry, this is a staffing issue that was completely foreseen and should have been planned for in advance. I ended up taking her to the emergency room, had an absolutely traumatizing five hours there. One of the questions was what is her regular vet and when I told them it was Everhart, they said "oh yeah, we've been getting a lot of their people here." Long story short, my cat was so traumatized by that experience, and I was so discouraged by the complete lack of access to non-traumatizing medical care (which should have been provided by her regular vet, with whom I had a relationship going back to 2017), that I made the difficult decision to have her put down at home. she died in my arms. Everhart failed me in the most important three weeks of my cat's life. Don't let them fail you and your cat. Go elsewhere.

Sadly, I feel like this place just gets more and more expensive as time passes. For example, our…read moredog needed to get a shot and the price for fast paws went from $5 to $10.30?!?! Was Everhart bought out by a corporate consolidator which jacked the prices so incredibly high?? I really liked this practice. First I want to make sure everyone knows that the front desk ladies are very nice and understanding and just doing what they are told. But, the vet himself is a complete jerk. Mom noticed what looked like tape worm in both of her dogs feces. She took the samples in just to get confirmation on which type of worms they were so that we could treat for them. The worms were very clearly visible on and in the feces that were given. The lab test for both came back negative! My mom called and sent them the pictures of the feces with the worms and said there is no way! She requested a refund because they very clearly have some type of worms. Waiting for the vet to call back the next day, he called and said, I don't know why the test came back negative but your dogs do have worms. Well, Mr Rocket scientist. We already know that! What kind of worms? And why did I pay you to test my dogs so I could get a treatment plan and you tell me they have worms but they couldn't say which kind because their test didn't work. Just made a suggestion on the type. Are these people even sending the test out? Are the test faulty? And why am I paying you if you're not giving me the accurate results. The vet said, well, that's what happens sometimes. Well, that didn't help me at all. We want our money back because he diagnosed our dogs with worms based on his visual inspection of the pictures we sent to them. No confirmation on the type of worm. I call that stealing customers money. He refused to refund. Highly do not recommend this place strictly based on the arrogance of this vet and his unwillingness to make things right. We just threw away $100 for nothing. Can I give them no stars?!

The vet techs were nice. When the male vet came in, he barely introduced himself. I tried explaining I'm new to cats and wasn't familiar with how vet visits go. He then asks me to "scruff him." I have no idea what that meant, I just said I'm new to cats. He seemed irritated and brought in a vet tech. I thought he was just going to look at his anal area, only to discover he was expressing my cat's anal glands. Did not explain to me what he was going to do nor what an anal gland expression entails. Then he tossed the pus covered paper towels into the trash, and missed. And left it there. I tried asking more questions and felt dismissed. At one point the vet literally just ignored me as he was writing notes. Oh, he listened to my cat's heart and lungs and said everything "sounded good." It's two months later at a different vet, and my cat has a heart murmur and asthma! I brought my cat back one more time for another anal gland expression. When I called ahead asking for the price, they told me it would be $20 + $5 vet tech fee. When it was time to pay, it was $30 or $35 + $5 vet tech fee. Felt like they were just pulling out random numbers. The vet techs were nice overall, but after all of that, I just got a weird vibe and won't be bringing him back.

I found this to be a much better option! My dog feels much more comfortable because she is at home, and Dr. Anna, Kate and her vet tech, Javier, are both amazing. As I mentioned, I am disabled. I am visually impaired, so Dr. Anna, Kate and her vet tech took extra time to explain what they were doing in case I wasn't able to tell. They took extra time to tell me all of my different options to help my dog, who suffers from chronic allergies, and itches all the time. The cost of a checkup and the medication's are comparable to those of my local vet. The only additional charge is the travel fee. However, for me, it is definitely worth it because of the convenience. However, they also offer a program you can sign up for that helps to cover this cost. Dr. Anna Kate was kind enough to tell me a little about it during their visit today and I plan on looking into it. Dr. Anna, Kate, and Javier are both incredibly kind and compassionate and very professional. They answered all of my questions, and never once made me feel like they were rushing. They took their time with my dog, and we're very loving with her. I highly recommend this mobile vet service. You will not find two more compassionate and amazing people than Dr. Anna Kate and Javier! (I tried to take a selfie with them, but did not realize my phone was on portrait mode. So they appear kind of blurry. Blind girl problems!)

My dog is very social, sweet but timid, fearful of vets, and (mis)labeled by this practice as aggressive (to which they did not inform me until this visit). However, my dog's prior vet (for his entire life) does not have that label in his record. His trainer, walker, boarder, and daycare all said he is social and would "not hurt a fly". Yes, he has anxieties, frightened by loud city noises, and needs to warm up to strangers. However, he has gone through training to address these fears and develop confidence. We do not intend to return to Charm City Vet, as they do not know how to treat a dog with fears, even though they advertise they have two fear-free-certified techs. A physical exam was not attempted, except a light was shined in his face for 2 seconds. Clearly, their team did not know how to foster a safe rapport as a confident pack leader for a fearful dog. Instead, they behaved with extreme caution and bias, and I felt my dog did not receive fair and proper care. Zero mention of their fear free certified techs and approaches were not shared nor provided. I was only informed of this post visit through their FB ads. The Charm City Vet team received a 0-1 rating from the receptionist, tech, and vet. Poor communication and treatment remained across the team. Although our old vet moved away, we have resumed care with them as their team truly cares about our dog and every animal that enters their practice.
