I was passing through Phoenix on my way to Tucson when I stopped at the Walmart and something urged…read moreme to go into Petco. I wandered in with my pet guinea pig that I tragically lost a few months ago on my mind and was already feeling emotional. A young gentleman approached me and asked if he could help (which never happens at the Petco in Tucson) and without hesitation he took me to the Guinea pigs. All the experiences I've ever had with the employees at Petco in Tucson, it's like they don't want you to hold the animal unless you plan to buy the animal. It's hard to sell an animal that way. In fact, I've called the corporative Petco to complain about employees really not trying to sell the pets that need homes, on top of selling me a female pig labeled a male with a broken leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That NO EMPLOYEE NOTICED!! The minute I held the 1st one emotions flooded and tears started to come down. He knew I was grieving and needed this, he had so much compassion in his heart that I could feel it. He literally SAT DOWN with me in the middle of the aisle and let me hold each pig, one by one, adamantly telling me to take my time and not to rush, that all was OK, giving me the time to try to find a connection with the right one. He looked to be around my son's age (18?) tall and thin with dark hair and a soft, gentle voice and the best manners.. (You're parents should be proud!) I ended up leaving to process but because of that interaction and the time he gave me to find the right pig I came in not even 30 minutes later and purchased the piggy. He was not there, I looked for him. I wanted to give him a big hug. Employees like him do not exist much anymore. He is not only a valuable employee but a valuable human being. And not just him, the girl with the short hair that I called about the pig before going back in and checked me out was just the sweetest, you can tell she really cares for the animals as well and that is so important to me. I don't know what this Petco is doing different, maybe it is the management, but it is the best experience I've ever had. And because of this experience, I found the right pet (family memeber!) and they gave a pet a wonderful home! Thank you all so much! Thank you more so for genuinely caring for those animals, it is so important in that job field! You guys are awesome!!!! Also, shout out to Christina!! She's a manager I spoke with and an absolute sweetheart! You all rock!

Updated: another great experience…read more We've been bringing our dogs here forever for baths, grooming, and nail trims, and we've always had a great experience. The dogs consistently come back looking clean, fresh, and well cared for. What really stands out is how patient and gentle the groomers are--especially with our high-anxiety dog. They take their time and make sure the dogs are comfortable, which gives us so much peace of mind. It's clear they truly care about the animals they work with. It's hard to find a groomer you can fully trust, but this is definitely one of them. Highly recommend!

UPDATE: I'm genuinely sad to be changing my previous five star review. We had always had positive…read moreexperiences here after almost 3 years of being a customer, which is why this situation was so disappointing. We had a 1:30 grooming appointment on Saturday and arrived at 1:22. I waited in the lobby until 1:54 and repeatedly tried to get someone's attention. I rang the front bell multiple times while my husband waited in the car. Around 1:50, after I had already been waiting for nearly 30 minutes, he came inside and called out toward the back before we finally left. No one came out to help us. What bothered us even more was the response afterward. We were told the bell "did not go off" and that someone had been up front until after 1:40. That does not match my experience at all. I was physically in the lobby the entire time, and I have timestamped texts showing that I had already been waiting and ringing the bell well before then. Had someone simply acknowledged that something went wrong, apologized, and taken ownership of the situation, this probably would have ended there. Instead, the response felt dismissive and more focused on disputing what happened than addressing the fact that a customer and her dog were left waiting unattended for over 30 minutes. We also sent feedback directly to the owner and never received a response. I really did not want to write this review, especially after previously recommending them so highly. Unfortunately, the way this was handled completely changed how we feel about returning.

Grooming was fine after bringing them home and further inspecting their paws. I noticed that my pit bulls nail was severely cracked in the back and cut way too short. I called them and asked what happened. They took no accountability for the injury on my dog. I know they hurt her. She can't speak, so I have to advocate for her after going back-and-forth with the manager. Who took no accountability for her injury? I asked to speak to the owner. The owner was very rude and said that I had to listen to her. And then I lost it. And then she hung up on me. There is no accountability. You expect to leave your pet Somewhere and expect them to be safe and taken care of and that was clearly not the case here. If you love your animals, especially your dogs, please be aware of this place and do not trust them.
