My dog's uneven ear trim
Emily T.

This review is for the grooming salon. I've been to other PetSmarts and have had good experiences with the grooming. I moved and this is the closest PetSmart to me. They said it would take about 3 hours, which is average time. They called me in about 2 hours saying that my dog was ready. I first noticed they didn't put a bow on her. Other PetSmarts have ALWAYS put a bow. Fine, whatever not a big deal. When they brought her out of the room they put her back on the table and started trimming. If she wasn't done WHY call me and say she was ready to be picked up. The trimming didn't take long but they should have done it all at once while they were cutting her hair before. Finally I get home to inspect and the cut looks terrible. I asked for traditional yorkie ears (cut down at the top and longer hair on the sides) and it looks like I could done a more even job than they did.

Went in for a cat grooming. I have a long-haired cat who had matting and was looking for a clean shave. I asked if I should stay in the area, they told me it would take 2-3 hours, so I went home. As soon as I got home, I got a call that I needed to come back and pick up my cat because she wasn't cooperating. What kind of groomer doesn't anticipate a cat to retaliate? They also don't do sedation which doesn't help at all. While she was there, they were able shave her entire back. She looks completely botched and has mats of hair hanging off of her. Never going back here, do not recommend.

The groomers provide exceptional services even with the demand that's put upon them. I can only imagine - my dog moves, gets excited around other dogs.. I'm grateful they can work with us and recommend products that help with seasonal shed or that funk of his. my groomer that I befriended explained how the company works and other services and made it a smooth transition for Jackson ever since I moved into the city. I use to pay more so I give them the difference in tips. Thank you again!

As you can see her pads weren't trimmed either.

I called and asked a question about filling a prescription, and the woman was rude and condescending.

I hate writing a negative review and would normally just let it go, but I can't in good conscience…read morerecommend this business for daycare as my life and my pups life has been completely altered after sending him here. I moved to Boston in November and decided to send my dog to daycare and boarding here as it's close by to my home. Previously my dog was in daycare for years in our other city we lived in and he absolutely loved it. Immediately upon arriving to this location it is incredibly small. I believe they take the pups on pack walks so they're not inside the whole day. It's so small inside I don't see how they even have enough room to play. I started sending my dog here on Saturdays and I noticed he would start crying when we would turn onto the block. I'd drop him off and he would have a complete meltdown and I didn't understand why, as the staff here is incredibly kind. I also had to start traveling for work, so when my pet sitter couldn't stay with him I'd send him to boarding, which they'd transport him to their Roxbury location. It was like pulling teeth to get any updates on how he was doing. They don't answer their texts sometimes for a full day. I had to beg them to finally start uploading a report card just to know how he was doing or if he was ok. The lack of communication alone should have been a big enough red flag to stop sending him here, along with the stress he seemed to be under upon drop off and pick up. In January I sent him for boarding for a work trip and a couple days after I picked him up he got incredibly sick. He ended up having to be hospitalized for a couple of days and I paid almost $10k in vet bills. They said he likely caught something from another dog. Several months later, again after a work trip he now won't let any of my dog walkers approach him with his prong collar. I don't know if maybe someone at the Roxbury location handled him aggressively with his collar, but he's 5 years old and has been wearing this collar since he was a year and a half old. We have never had issues with it until I started sending him here. I have no idea if something happened to him at that location since their communication is abysmal. A couple of days after this, I saw a Facebook thread of a woman who sent their dog here for a simple nail trim and they gave her pup back with a popped blood vessel in its eye and said they had no video footage to provide when she asked. Everyone in the comments said that a popped blood vessel in the eye is a sign of strangulation, and people started sharing their terrible experiences about this place. This would make sense why my pup doesn't want anything near his neck anymore. I'm not sure why there aren't many google reviews, but there were hundreds of comments of people sharing their unsettling stories here. On top of the financial stress this has put me under, I've also had to completely change my work schedule to walk my dog since he doesn't trust any walkers anymore. I now have him in a harness and have been doing more training with him, but I've had to cancel all of my travel for work because of this. I've never had any behavioral issues with my dog until sending him here.
