I took my dog to this PetSmart location this morning for grooming. When I picked her up Alana found a lot of fault with my dog. She's a cute little 12 lb rat terrier 12 years old. I always get the furminator shampoo with a brush out that way she doesn't shed for a couple weeks. I don't think Alana brushed her. When she came home hair falls off and when she jumps. Also I had to make a special trip back to the store to get Abby's collar which Alana did not put back on her. Alana has specifically said while you go pay I'll put her collar and harness on her for you. read more

I did not go inside this location. I ordered my kitties' food online & did a curbside Pickup. The employee,Sam, who came out to my car only brought part of my order. I had to call inside again to get him to bring the rest. So, I can't really speak about the inside, but the employees have to have the orders "in line", so they bring it all out, so ppl don't have to make 2 trips . read more

They had a pretty amazing deal at all of the PetSmart locations for Black Friday so this is where I came and stocked up on a bunch of food for my cats. Service here is really friendly. Checking out can sometimes be a bit disorganized, but I like the store. But prices are high so I can't possibly give them 5 stars - but they're nice store and I appreciate them. I mean, PetsMart is a chain so it's not like this one is terribly different than any other location. The have a vet actually in store, so that's kinda cool. Also they have a groomers. I'm pretty sure all locations do, but just saying, they have a groomers. They do give a military discount ... but only on Tuesdays ... ? Huh?! One thing I have noticed is that they have a HELLA small selection of snacks/treats... for dogs. Like I have to end up buying big ass bones for my monsters at regular stores like Walmart and stuff. Nice big store with a very helpful staff. They helped me adopt a new kitten through the SPCA. They were very thorough with the process and were with me every step of the way. Colin and Nancy were so helpful to me. They have a Banfield pet hospital inside some of their stores which I think is great. I've had to pick up some prescriptions for my previous cat from there. An absolute nightmare, we took our dashound to get groomed. Kera said it would be 2 hours when she was done. I went in on hour 2 and Kera (the groomer) was shaving another dog. When I asked where my dog is she said drying (mind you my dog is about 7lbs and should have been done). When I showed up in another hour you couldn't even tell that she was done. She looked worse then when I dropped her off. These people should not be grooming dogs. read more

The time was 8:30 am Thursday. Plenty of cars were parked in front of the store. Lights were on and door was open. As I entered a cashier approached me and very rudely told me they didn't open until 9 am. The sign on the front window said they opened at 8 am, but apparently that was for grooming(?) or some other service that apparently did not include retail purchasing. The bottom line for me is this: if PetSmart doesn't care enough to post their store hours on their front window why should I care enough to leave my money with them? Overall the store is clean and the staff is friendly! Always love going there! My one problem is that i had called them a few weeks ago to inquire about if they trimmed cats nails there. Not only did they tell me i had to make an appointment for a 10 minute task, but proceeded to put me on hold for over an hour. I waited for that long only because i could hear from in the background that they were busy, via all the dogs barking. However i thought she had just gotten caught up and would come back to the phone. After over an hour i got fed up and hung up. read more

I had been purchasing food, toys, collars, leashes, treats and you name it from this location. We have a golden retriever puppy and I spent $45 on two "virtually indestructible" toys. Within 45 minutes our puppy had pulled both toys apart and I returned them to the store. A very young manager adamantly told me they would not refund or replace either toy despite the incredibly short duration. Within the last six months we have spent hundreds of dollars at this store. I told her to pull our discount card from their system as she never bothered to check on the extent of our purchases. Were you right or were you wise? I would recommend you train your managers to make intelligent decisions. Very bad form and you have lost a customer. read more

We took our three dogs in for grooming. When we picked them up we were told that we should take our two older dogs to the vet to be groomed next time as they were tired during the grooming. Apparently they kept sitting down during grooming. Vets don't do grooming, that's PetSmart's specialty (or so they say). We also needed the younger one to have his ears cleaned and they didn't do a good job. We had an experience there before when I accidently ordered the wrong grooming and if the groomer had experience with dogs should have known and questioned us when we brought her in. We will take our dogs to someone else who can handle our dogs better. The grooming itself was done well, but the other occurrences have given us concern to find someone else. read more

The people that work in the store are great, and they really seem to love animals. It's a great place to go for puppy socialization. When I was there on Saturday, though, there was a puppy obediance class going on, and the store was really crowded and the aisles seemed to close in on me. The store is not as big as it seems. Also, I really don't like that they have an in-store vet. I don't want myG-dog to catch anything from the other dogs. I had my puppy's nails clipped for an exorbitant $8, and the groomer did not fawn over the G-diggety-dog like she should have. She could have at least feigned excitement, my baby is only 14 weeks old! Petco on Main & Transit is brighter, cleaner and more expansive. I'll be going there from now on. I usually go to the Elmwood location, but my puppy needed to be groomed, and they didn't have anything available. So I made an appointment at this location. The groomers were all very friendly and they were even nice enough to treat my puppy as a beagle mix saving me ten dollars on the grooming. I will probably go back to the Elmwood location because it is closer to home though. I also like how the Elmwood location takes care of her nails. The groomer she usually goes to does a really good job buffing them down. The groomer she had today said sadie didn't really like getting her nails done today. I think my puppy was nervous because she is used to the girl at the other location. I also really liked the cute bandana they put on her. All in all they did a great job! read more

They will not tell me their mistakes, instead I found out when I got home. My puppy is now too scared when I try to touch his paws. I've never cared for Chain businesses, but the Dog training is fantastic. We have been trying to house break our dog for months and have been unsuccessful. Bailey is awesome at what she does and knows her business. she showed us easy and common sense ways to train our dog to go outside that we would have never thought of. I took my dog to be groomed this week. It was the first time using their grooming services. I will never go back again. It looks like a two year old took the clippers to her. They left her very choppy and uneven. It's as if they completely ignored my style request. Either the girl that groomed her is very inexperienced or has no idea how to groom a dog of this breed. For $60 I expected to get what I asked for. I will never use them again. read more

I've been to multiple Petsmarts in the Buffalo area, and the customer service at this store needs some improvement. When we first walked in we asked about samples because we want to try new foods for our pets. The associate looked at us like we were crazy and just kept repeating how we could buy small bags. (There are locally owned pet stores in the area that gladly hand out free sample size bags so the question really isn't that absurd) Next we were looking for new cat food and couldn't find a single associate available to ask questions; ended up Googling reviews. We were shopping around probably 15 minutes and never saw an employee. Not sure if they're low staffed, but it is the weekend and management should really consider the harm no employees on the floor has for its customers. The check out experience was the worst part. There was a long line with one register open, thankfully a second associate opened up. He never greeted us, never made conversation, and sadly didn't even offer our doggie a treat and that's her favorite part about going inside. He didn't even say hi to her. Aren't employees supposed to be animal lovers? The guy wasn't even a people person. Cashier number is 593200. Sadly we won't be returning to this location. Hope improvements are made for future customers. Two stars are graciously given because the items we needed were in stock, but the store appearance could use some TLC. read more

I always enjoy coming here when I am in the area. The selection of items can be overwhelming but well worth it especially if you love to spoil your pets. And one cannot go there without checking out and playing with the cats that are up for adoption. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will help to point you in right direction on anything that you are looking to buy. I'm kinda weird in that it bothers me when employees keep asking me if I need help..I guess some people just like to be asked. If I need help I just ask...hmmm. This is the best pet store ! Everyone here is so nice and always takes time to assist you. The employees will go out of there way to help you with products and compare different items,and are over the top on assisting with any problems one might have with there fish or reptile. The grooming studio is always clean , good prices and my Daisy is comfortable going there. I would not want to go to any other pet store, The petco feel like home. read more

The grooming service is an absolute ripoff and a joke. Took my dog a few times now. Last two times the price went way up. I've have a very small dog and paid $75 for basic groom and teeth cleaning. Was told that I had to pay extra to have some matting brushed out. Specifically an hours worth. The appointment was scheduled for 3 hours. Got the call to pickup my dog after 2 1/2. So 3 hours plus an extra hour to brush the dog doesn't equal 2 1/2. That's 4 hours to groom the dog. Or at least that's what I got charged for. When I asked why the dog was done so quick and yet I was charged extra, the girls response was to the effect that she didn't want to do her job. If you don't want to brush dogs, don't be a groomer. What a lazy society. What a ripoff. Oh and yeah, I still tipped good cause I'm that kind of person. As for patronizing petsmart, I haven't spent a cent there since. I shop at Petco down the street. read more
