I adopted a cat that I was told was sick and petsmart has a 2 week grace period where we could take her back if she did get better and they could look at her. We took her back to get checked because she was still sick and the vet office in the back the lady at the desk was extremely rude and unprofessional and they tell us to kick rocks. Spoke with the store manager and she said it was not a thing. Why do you have employee's helping customers adopt when they have no idea what they are talking about. Paid $160 for a cat that is sick when i got her and now Im stuck paying the medical bill. I will never refer anyone to petsmart. read more

I came in today to buy Molly fish. the girl in the store refused to sell me any fish because I don't have a 20 gallon tank. I have a good knowledge of fish, and keeping mollies that are almost 3 years old now, and in great health. kind of ridiculous that she refused to sell me a type of fish that I have taken very good care of because I don't have a 20 gallon tank. Honestly, don't buy fish from here. Last November I took my teacup white Persian cat to have her knots brushed out. I had been before but they had a new cat person. They did call to let me know a lot of knots were cut out. She came home with a full Lion cut. I was surprised but it seemed necessary. When I picked her up it was cold and rainy. And she just handed her to me all wet. I bought a little sweater and blame myself for not thinking and should have made her dry my cat who was obviously upset and shaking. I sat in the car for 20 min trying to dry and comfort her before I could go. She had been there before but with a munch different outcome I won't take her back. read more

I took my dog here for a grooming and the staff seemed super sweet with him, which was great because he always tends to display signs of anxiety when he's realizes I'm leaving him with a groomer. They gave me a little report card of how he behaved for each service and I think that helps settle any nerves that the dog owner may have. They initially told me that the grooming service would be $57 and at checkout it ended up being $87. I saw that I was charged for a nail grinding and they asked me if I wanted it and I said sure. I do wish that they would have disclosed that it was an extra $30 for that because I typically trim his nails anyway and I assumed it was part of the package that I already purchased. read more

DO NOT BUY FISH HERE. I just set up a betta sorority tank and bought 5 female bettas. One of which had "ich" and ended up killing all of my fish. After some reflection, I realized when I bought the 5 fish that one of the containers had a slight blue tint to it. My husband and I were having a rough day and decided we wanted to try getting a beta fish. So we went there having no prior info to learn about what we need to do to keep a beta fish. I know that there are lots of people who wouldn't recommend this place. But they're a great place to get started with your pets. Not every associate is very knowledgeable in each section such as fish, dogs, reptiles, birds, etc. But every time I've gone, I go to the same girl and she knows all things fish. Everything she's told me is true and works. I would suggest doing your research before buying any sort of fish, but they can help in getting answers. For example, their tanks are always correctly labeled and they tell you how easy or hard each type of fish is to keep. It has the minimum tank size they need to thrive and their price. They also run good deals on tanks quite often. My tank has held up and I've never had a mishap with the heater or filter that it came with. It's a great way and place to start. But be prepared to become addicted. I do wish they had a larger selection on some grooming stuff though. Such as puppy perfume and whatnot. read more

How would I know if I want to adopt unless I can spend a few minutes with the animal?? Appointments are ruining spontaneity. The kind of spontaneity that would usually result in kids falling in love with an animal and parents caving in to take a pet home, along with toys, food, and other pet accessories. If I could rate -0 I would. Over 100+ dead fish sitting in the tanks just rotting. They stink, and customer service is beyond horrendous. I wish you would open your eyes and realize what harm your shitty coworkers are doing to these animals, and fish. We also watched two cats get into a fight and shit themselves literally and the workers just claimed that they escaped out of there cages. They didn't clean the cages nor did they take care of the other cat. They stuck the cat back into the disaster cage from the fight and left. Unfucking real. My dog went in for a shampoo and got her paw stuck in the crate in the tub and they had to put her to sleep to remove it. They should know that little dogs have small paws and not use the crate or use one that the paws can't get stuck. I do not recommend this groomer for anyone. read more

I took my dog to be groomed at the American Fork Location. I wasn't happy because they always fail to remove his dew claws & extract his anal glands. After I paid they informed me that I'll have to go to a vet to have it done. This is AFTER I paid. I got an email asking for a review a few days later. I communicated my frustration that they never do all the survives you pay for. They finally ended up reimbursing me for what they didn't do and then I got a phone call from a manager. She was really rude and told me that they refuse to trim my dog ever again because he behaved so badly. However When I picked him up the girl who cut his hair said nothing about him behaving badly. In fact I asked her how it went and how he was doing and she said "great". I have taken him to PetSmart a total of 4 times and NEVER have they ever said he was bad. They always tell me he does really well. I have since taken him to another groomer and she said he is such a sweet dog and so good for her. PetSmart doesn't like bad reviews of course and they'll refuse service & lie if you speak up and tell them you aren't happy with their crappy service. read more

This pet store is what it is, a place to buy pet stuff. Nothing special by any means, it's a big box store. I buy my dogs and cat Blue Buffalo food here because I spend too much money on their food. FOUND A NEW PLACE TO GET IT FOR MUCH CHEAPER!!! When we got our first dog we did puppy training lessons here and it was great for all I know. The instructor was super nice. It has a lot of stuff. Negatives are that the majority of the staff doesn't really know what's going on and doesn't really try to help you unless you go hunt one down. They only ever have one check out line open. You can't get their "sales" without the dumb pet perks card but those "sales" are crap. In general everything is over priced. You don't even get points by having the card, just their BS "sales" read more

I made an appointment online a few days in advance. I selected what I thought was a grooming appointment. Turns out a "furminator" does not entail grooming; it's just an extremely expensive bath and brush. The frustrating part is they were unwilling to work with me. Taking my dog to Petsmart is not an easy task. He's a big dog. This is the second time I've had a bad experience with them. Needless to say, I will be working with a mobile grooming service from here on out. About 10% more expensive, but worth not having to deal with Petsmart again. So frustrating! read more

The overall grooming was a good experience. But I had my hands full and my newborn with me, so I had asked for help to take my dog out to the car. They were suuuuper bothered that I asked for help. The "manager" took him out with me and would barely talk to me because she was so put out by me asking for help. My dog actually ended up peeing on her leg. Haha! I apologized multiple times and she was so livid that I thought, "Well, why do you work at a pet store?" The groomer who groomed my dog, Hanna, was excellent and I highly recommend. I've gone to this PetSmart location twice in the last two weeks and the staff is SO incredibly rude and unfriendly. Both time! I'm not sure why but last Saturday was THE LAST TIME I will go back. The cashier yells your total at you, I got yelled at for not standing behind the green line at the fish, which I understand but I literally had no idea it was there. There is no professionalism or decency. I dealt with 3 different staff members and was treated with such disrespect that I paid for the one item I needed and vowed to never go back. One of the most overrated grooming sessions ever. I have a miniature cocker spaniel that weighs 19 lbs and I paid $80 for a groom. This included "furminator" session which is something they use to help the dog not shed. I dropped her off at 8 am and was told it would be 3-4 hours. 5 hours later , I called. They said another half hour. 6 hours later - still no call. I showed up and she was done. They also told me they would put pretty bows in her hair, and none of that was done either. The groomer gave my dog pink eye and clipper burn! I do not recommend taking your dog here. While I have, on rare occasion, gotten a good groomer, usually they do NOT do a good job. They usually err on the side of just shaving off all of their fur and they do not practice good cleanliness between dog groomings, spreading cooties between dogs. They let their clippers get really hot to the point of burning. My dog acts fearful after being groomed and even scoots her rear end on the carpet after visiting (which she never did before.) It's expensive as well ($50-$75+), considering they are just shaving your dog, and whether they actually bathe them is questionable. read more

I am disappointed in their customer service. We have spent thousands of dollars here on items for our dog, cat, and 20 gallon freshwater aquarium. For Christmas my 7 year old daughter wanted gift cards to PetSmart. With that money she bought 2 new fish and some maintenance supplies for the tank. We have had healthy fish in the tank for a year with no problems. We clean it regularly and take great care of our animals. Unfortunately one of the new fish purchased had "ich" and infected all of the fish in the tank. One by one they all died (with the exception of 1 fish). I brought the receipt into the store with me within the 14 days and told one of the employees what had happened. After she called for someone else to help me and me explaining what had happened, he brought me to the fish care aisle and told me to add a stress coat to the tank. When I told him I had done that he said he didn't think he could help because I hadn't brought in the dead fish. My 7 year old son replied to the employee, "How do we bring in our fish that got flushed in the toilet?" The employee then said, "Without proof that your fish are dead we don't actually know they aren't in your tank swimming around." Not only was this a horrible thing to say in front of my children who loved these little fish, but to accuse me of being dishonest in such a callous way was awful. I asked him to please check with the manager. He went into the back and came out telling me that without the dead fish they couldn't do anything. I am sick about how much money I have spent there and to have them act in a way where the customer didn't matter at all will make me never shop there again. read more

I would not recommend going to any PetSmart or Petcos if you are going to ask questions they'll just want to talk you into paying more money for crap you don't even need for the animal you are going to buy. Sure the staff is nice but that doesn't mean they know how to take care of the animal you want. I would recommend doing your own research before getting your animal and DO NOT listen to the staff unless your one hundred percent sure that they know what they are talking about. The other day I was at this store to get live food for my Red Bearded Dragon. There was no help around the live crickets. I helped myself as I have done before. Suddenly, Associate "Sarah" came charging after me, "Sir, you can't do that...you can't do that...STOP." I actually had my 20 crickets and gave her the bag telling her no one was around and I needed help. Now, I was most likely in the wrong here, but there were no signs telling me I could not catch these rascals and bag them myself. I tried to explain this to her and she was yelling at me that I should have gone to the front for help. Again, I saw no prohibition or direction at the cricket cage. The point is, Sarah was loud, confrontational, accusatory, mean and disrespectful. She roughly handled the bag putting a rubber band on it. I asked her calmly to put the designated number of crickets on the bag. When I went to the cashier I was surprised Sarah wrote "50" when I in fact had no more than 20. I was so upset at her aggressive demeaner I paid and left. I am an elderly man who was treated with such dishonor and disrespect from this kid employee that it left me with much anguish and despair. I love Petsmart, it is the store I dreamed of opening as a child! It has everything. I went in a few months ago looking for something to help my dogs stop barking, the associate at the AF location showed me the help aids and then showed me an e-collar or training collar and told me how her German Shepard is a service dog she trained for herself and she had fantastic results using the training collar. I decided to buy training collars and they are by far the best training tools I have ever used and I have been training dogs for many years. Training my dogs with this device has been life changing! I no longer have a barking problem and my neighbors love us again! Thank you Petsmart for hiring fabulous associates! read more

WOW!!!! I have never been as impressed with a grooming salon as I am with this salon. I have a Great Pyrenees puppy with severe anxiety who was in need of having her nails and fur trimmed. After our last salon experience (I won't name the salon), I was terrified to take her anywhere. One of my neighbors suggested the American Fork Petsmart Salon. All of the girls there were SO gentle, patient, and precise with my sweet pup. They went above and beyond what I asked them to do. One of the girls let me know they noticed some blood in her ear (Thankfully it turned out to be nothing) but they made sure to tell me so I could have it checked out. I will never be taking my pup anywhere else but here. These girls are so knowledgeable and sweet. You can tell they are all doing what they love. Unlike the people at my past salon, I can tell they actually enjoy what they are doing. Thank you SO MUCH for changing my grooming experience girls! You are worth every minute of my hour drive. Thank you all for being so amazing!!! Keep up the amazing work! read more
