But worse yet, she was treated so poorly that her heart was broken. She never drooled ever, before coming here, but now she does when stressed. She has learned NOT to trust that the world is a safe place. She is a Wheaten who is so loving and gentle - and Wheatens' spirits can be broken easily by harsh treatment. I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

So when I travel or work long days and need someone to look after the pups, I'm very particular about where they go. A friend referred me to Camp Bow Wow and I've used them several times. So far, my dog hasn't said anything good or bad about her experience, but she seems happy enough to go inside with a staff member. While I appreciate the service they provide, it is a bit pricey, so I have to be selective about when I bring my dog here. I'd love to be able to bring her more often, but I have to ration our visits until I hit the jackpot.

The process was smooth and professional, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the app and texts makes everything so easy to manage. I even got the cutest "Welcome to Camp" photo when my pup was accepted -- such a thoughtful touch! My dog has been having a great time at daycare, and it's given me real peace of mind knowing she's happy and well cared for. Now that she's also boarding overnight for the first time, I'm not the least bit worried -- I know she's in good hands. The ability to check in on her through the live cameras during the day is a total bonus, and the team goes above and beyond with their adorable enrichment activities (complete with photos of your pup enjoying them). They even helped me one evening when I found a lost dog on my way to drop mine off -- scanning the dog for a microchip without hesitation. That kind of compassion says everything about who they are. And I can't forget to mention the great grooming services -- Missy always comes home from her baths there looking and smelling amazing! I'm genuinely so happy to have found Camp Bow Wow Sandy. They've made life easier, my dog happier, and me completely confident in her care. Highly recommend to any pet parent!

I inquired today about the wash and dry service at the American Fork, UT location because it's much…read morecloser to me than the Sparkle West Jordan grooming location I was also considering. I specifically wanted to find out whether brushing was included. I was honestly shocked to learn that the $30/month wash and blow-dry service only includes a bath and nail trim, followed by putting your dog in a cage with fans blowing on them until they're dry or picked up. I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to send a dog home soaking wet, but I have to ask: **how is this meaningfully better for the dog than bathing them at home and allowing them to dry comfortably in their own environment?** The entire concept of leaving a dog confined in a cage with fans blowing on them just to dry them seems incredibly impersonal and, frankly, sad. These are people's family members--not laundry that needs to be dried as quickly as possible. What also really bothered me is that the website emphasizes that they don't want dogs going home wet because they could potentially get sick. Yet the alternative being offered is essentially prolonged confinement in a cage with fans until the dog dries. That doesn't feel like a particularly thoughtful approach to the comfort or wellbeing of the animal. I ended the call and immediately signed up for the $135/month Sparkle grooming service instead. Yes, it costs significantly more, but after hearing what this service actually consists of, I would much rather spend the extra money on my dog and know they're receiving actual grooming, attention, and care. **If you're considering this service, I would strongly encourage you to ask exactly what happens to your dog after the bath. Personally, I couldn't justify paying for a service that I feel I could provide more comfortably and compassionately at home.** Our dogs deserve better than the bare minimum. They're worth every penny.

I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
