We had such a great experience here!! Everyone who works here was very caring about my dog, they took her for a walk, made sure she had water and she got to socialize with other dogs. After an extremely muddy romp at the dog park, my standard poodle was in desperate need of a bath. I spotted the Doggy Den on the way home and decided to give it a try. The facility was quite small, with only three small tubs against one wall. The girl at the counter was friendly, but not terribly knowledgeable. I was disappointed in the tubs, as I couldn't get around to both sides. The shampoo provided wasn't great, they didn't have grime-busting soap, and were out of face soap altogether. I could NOT get my dog clean - I scrubbed and rinsed, scrubbed and rinsed, but he was still dirty. I finally gave up and dried him the best I could. I'm assuming this was due to the sub-par shampoo. I wouldn't recommend the Doggy Den, unless your dog is on the smaller side and not very dirty. Filthy, curly-haired big dogs - try the Pup Tub in Cottonwood Heights! read more

I love this place! The ladies inside are always so nice and helpful as I can never remember the length I like our doodles cut down to. I always learn something from them as well. They walk the pups regularly while they have them which makes my dogs so happy after a day at the groomer. They let our dogs hang out together the whole time too which is nice because we have one little guy who can get pretty anxious! They've been great to reschedule with if something comes up and they've been able to squeeze us in when the pups have really needed some attention. Cannot say enough good about them. read more

I have been taking my dogs to doggy den for the past 10 years and find it most enjoyable. Dogs are not kept in cages so they don't feel like they're being locked up. BEWARE THE DOGGY DEN!!! I took my tiny Shih Tzu to this business for a groom and the did the worst chop job EVER!!! Not only did it look like a kindergartner cut her hair I feel like she was tortured while there as there is a huge bald spot on top of her head and several other bald spots on her little body where the hair was RIPPED out. When I picked her up I was lied to and told the bald spot on her head was dead follicle space from having her hair in ponytails but miraculously the hair is growing back in after just a few days. I was also told her armpits were shaved due to mats but they actually shaved half her chest. When I went in to file a complaint I had called ahead and when I got there the owner Bundy or whatever her name is had a "bodyguard" at the desk like I was going to punch her or something which believe you me I wanted to after what they did to my baby. She said I wasn't allowed to swear because I said what they had done to my dog was BULLSHIT. I felt threatened so I stepped outside and called the police. I've also called animal control to investigate for animal abuse and I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau..this has been a total NIGHTMARE experience for me so take your beloved pet to this facility at your own risk! 0/10 stars given!!!! read more

This groomer is unprofessional. When they groomed my dog this past week they lost our dog tags and my dogs expensive leather collar. We had to take our dog to the vet early the next morning and didnt have time to grab a new special collar that he needed. My dog somehow got loose that morning and ran into traffic on state street and almost died several times. I have ptsd from this experience. read more

Terrible place. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. We had an appointment for our dog to get his haircut at noon. We called at 3:30 and they were just getting started. They said they would be done at 4:30. Showed up at 4:45 and he still wasn't done. When they finally finished they had sent his collar home on a different dog. Didn't get the collar back until a couple days later when the other dog owner returned it. My dog ended up getting KENNEL COUGH the next day and he left with three big scratches on his nose. They keep all the dogs in one big corral. None are in their own kennel. read more

I was referred to The Doggy Den by a friend. I am going to have to reconsider my friendship. When I got there to check my dogs in the guy at the front desk was yelling at the dogs and telling them to shut up. It took me 25 minutes to explain to him what I needed for my dogs, there were being boarded, and how much food they needed to be fed. Then as he was taking my dogs back he let a little shitzu escape and the dog almost ran out in the road. I shouldn't have left my dogs there but I was in a bind and really didn't have a choice. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who likes their dog. Really rude people who clearly don't like animals. read more

I have taken my dogs to the Doggie Den about 3 or 4 times and I've always been happy with the service BUT today I had an appointment at noon and I am embarrassed to say I didn't realize I needed gas and ran out of gas on the way to drop off the dogs. I called 20 minutes after 12pm and asked if I could still bring my dogs... They were accommodating and told me they were still willing to groom the dogs. I knew they were going above and beyond because I was putting their schedule behind at least 45 minutes but the fact that they were understanding and kind definitely made me a loyal customer for life. I took my sweet little Maltese-Shitzu, Lily, here to be groomed and multiple things bothered me, although everyone working was initially friendly. I noticed that all the dogs were all wondering around on the floor amongst other dogs and in the same area as the groomers workspaces. One employee asked if Lily was fixed which I told her she wasn't, to which she replied, "Most of the male dogs in here are neutered." No reassurance that she would keep her away from the non-neutered ones. I thought to myself, so you're just going to let my fertile female dog wander around with them anyways? The biggest upset about this place was that when I picked her up she had two bows on either ear which I thought were adorable. At other groomers they had put bows in but they would simply use rubber bands, so when I got home, I tried taking them off and found they were GLUED to her fur and partially to her scalp since she was shaved down so much! They never once asked me about the glued on bows, nor did they inform me about it when picking her up. I immediately called them to tell them how upset it made me and to ask the safest and best way to get them off. The employee who answered the phone told me all the groomers were gone (it was about 3pm and they closed a few hours after that) and said she was sorry but she didn't know how to get them out. I was absolutely appalled especially when she sat silently on the other end after that not even offering any other solutions to what they had done! I told her this was just unacceptable and she finally decided to call one of the owners and ask and call back. She called back to tell me dawn dish soap and water. That did not work whatsoever. We had to work on the bows for a very long time which made my dog very nervous and I could tell it was pulling on her skin and hurting her. The lady on the phone did not even offer to refund me any money much less the tip I left nor did the owners. My dog has severe anxiety after being shaved and bows make it so much worse so this was just the worst experience by a landslide for my poor pooch! We will not be back. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE A PILE OF DOG POO! My six year old shih tzu have always been so good when I groom her in the past but ever since I've gone to the "Doggy Den", she trembles and whines whenever I hold a pair of scissors close to her (to give her a trim). But I brushed it off, never thought much of it until today. I usually never rate anyone negatively but one of the "supposedly" owner here is very rude, ungrateful and unprofessional. I live 30 minutes away and I have been coming here for a almost two years now (before, it was a different lady who was much more professional and kind). I've never wanted a bath for my babies (I bring in three) due to them stepping all over fecal matter while they're in this facility so they gave me a specific price that I have always been ok with. Today, she's suddenly decided not to honor that pricing anymore and on top of that, she was very rude and unprofessional. Instead of being apologetic, she claimed I was rude to her?! I'm flabbergasted! All I told her was that I feel she should honor this pricing for loyal clienteles and she puffed her chest and said, "I am the owner and blah blah". Sounds like a power greed to me. I'm very glad I don't have to cross paths with uncivilized individuals often. I was treated like a pile of dog poop, makes me wonder how my babies are being treated while I'm gone, why my shih tzu was traumatized. I am a nail technician nearby and I have a lot of clients who have dogs. Before all of this, I've always recommended this place. But after doing some thinking and seeing how horrible they treat a loyal clientele, I doubt they take good care of their furry clients. People, please beware of this place. We love the Doggy Den! We've been taking our three dogs, Max, Charlie and Spike there for about two years for grooming. We've never had a problem and couldn't be happier with how they are treated while being groomed. Our dogs are not used to being with other dogs and are happiest when all three are together in their "pack" so the Doggy Den makes sure to keep them together and give them time away from strange dogs to reduce their anxiety. We've never seen any problems post-grooming (no shaving nicks, no scratches, no sore spots) so we know they are handled gently. I love the folks at the Doggy Den! They are always cheerful, kind and work with me on dropping off and picking up my pack! Highly recommended by the Summers' dogs Mom! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! I used to love this place until i just recently took my dog there to be groomed. She has sores from the clippers on her legs, her lip, and all around her private parts. My poor dog is so uncomfortable and to top it off when I called I got a horrible response, "I'm sorry. That can happen if their hair is matted". I understand one accidental nick, but multiple nicks is not ok. I didn't get offered a refund, nothing! There is no way they didn't know it was happening. She had to have been yelping with the amount of sores she has. I am furious!!! read more

I recently took my sweet and loving Shih Tzu to The Doggy Den for a grooming and was notified by the owner that they nicked her while grooming her. I understand that accidents do happen, however, the nicking is not the only reason I am sending this negative review. This was not the first time they have cut my dog, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction to the owner, her reply was, well your dog is very hard to groom and your more than welcome to take her somewhere else. I will be taking her somewhere else, but to not even apologize for cutting my dog is awful in my opinion. The nick was in fact a CUT, which I am having to treat with neosporine and bandages. Please be cautious if you decide to use Doggy Den. Not only are they RUDE, but they obviously have no regard for the animals. Received no call to see how my dog was healing or if the wound was okay. read more
