My perfectly healthy, show-dog quality dog got kennel cough here from dirty conditions. her health has not been the same since. But worse yet, she was treated so poorly that her heart was broken. She never drooled ever, before coming here, but now she does when stressed. She has learned NOT to trust that the world is a safe place. She is a Wheaten who is so loving and gentle - and Wheatens' spirits can be broken easily by harsh treatment. Make sure you know what you are getting into and if you need a trainer with a heart, this is NOT the place. they don't even look at your dog in the eyes, --they don't pet it ever- or treat it with love. I learned the hard way. It's been 4 months and my dog still isn't her old self. I have a clinical PhD and this is not how animals learn to behave in a safe, loving world. read more

The groomer who replaced Emma was the biggest downgrade. My girl was doing really well and would come home looking great. Her last appointment I get a text about fifteen minutes before her morning appointment they had overbooked. When I went to pick her up she was so unbelievably stressed beyond belief, she was still WET, and they didn't trim her ears or her feet yet charged me full price for and then asked how much I was adding for the tip. We were heading to a conformation show that weekend. Her breeder was LIVID how much she could still smell the soap and when she went to try to bathe her she had residue and was terrified of the tub.... I was beyond embarrassed taking my girl to her breeder for her show and get that feedback. I also specifically asked this groomer to be honest about how she did and they gave me the she was perfect. So either they lied, or have zero understanding of body language because it took her nearly a full day to calm back down and that's never happened before. I'm not a groomer and even I can tell you leaving a double coated dog still wet with shampoo reside is not going to set us up for avoiding hot spots. This was a disaster and I've chosen to never trust them with my girl ever again and hope to warn others as well. To have the audacity to charge full price for a service that I clearly did not get and was not up to standard of what I've gotten in the past and to hold my invoice until I said what tip to give . It was clear they were simply meeting the profit margins of double booking the entire day rather than the luxury 1:1 service they claim to have. It was an immediate swap as I was picking her up a German shepherd was walking in straight behind us. Beyond disappointing. Take your dogs elsewhere. read more

We have a 9 month old Maltese who we haven't really socialized much due to the pandemic, and were really worried about behavioral issues; he would bark like crazy at everyone he didn't know, like random people passing by our house. We brought him to k9 Lifeline for boarding since we had to take an emergency trip and they were extremely polite and put us at ease, even though our puppy was barking like crazy when we dropped him off. We picked him up today and he is like a brand new dog around others. He saw people walking by the house and didn't make a single noise. So to test out how he'd be in closer proximity to others we took him for a short walk at the park, and he did amazingly well! Thank you K9 Lifeline for such an awesome experience. First let me say that we bring our girls here at least 4 times a week for daycare, but it is usually five. This place has been amazing for us and our two Giant Schnauzers. We brought them there as puppies, and completed the training. Before that, our girls were impossible on the leash, and they really had zero manners. After the training, it was night and day. They now walk on the leash without pulling and without even being distracted by other dogs. We have participated in Saturday Socials which is free after you have been evaluated by the team, and it has been a valuable tool to keep our dogs socialized, and you meet the other dogs that come to daycare. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, but yet they are firm when it comes to questionable behavior. We do bounce back and forth between the Draper and Murray locations. The Draper location has a larger staff, so even though I don't remember all of their names, everyone is so friendly, and my girls remember them and are so excited to see them. They are very good at what they do. The Murray location is run by Sam, and she is fantastic. She has helped us so much with our dogs. She is always willing to take the time to give some guidance, and to help us out if we need it. Dog training and daycare is such a personal choice. The methodology that they use here fits my ideas of how we interact with our fur babies, and I would have no problem sending people there. My only complaint, is that there is no daycare on Saturdays. This means that I have to take them to another daycare as I work those days. I also wish that they were open just a little bit later. My Newfoundland who is as kind as a teddy bear got bite in the face by some other dog and the staff said the saw nothing, but that they saw her going up to a dogs face. I also paid for VIP and the service was horrible. I can't recommend this place anymore. At check out, they made me wait 10 minutes to check out, get my stuff, and no one came up to me and talked about what happened to Powerpuff. Last time they have me there. read more

I don't even think they deserve 1 star! Unless you want your fur baby to be in a kennel for 20 plus hours a day, then don't go here for training. We were told to only let our baby out to potty and stuff (on a leash), train for about 30 min, and then back in the kennel, even to eat. Only time out of the kennel to them was to potty and train! We tried this and she damn near ripped her nails off trying to get out. We were told the medicine and was on that she should not be, even though it's VET prescribed!! For a dog that was rescued, we know was abused prior to that, already has anxiety... And they wanted her confined to a kennel...NO WAY IN HELL!! Our trainer was very rude! K-9 Lifeline was the lifeline for my German Shepherd puppy. She was a highly reactive dog and as she got older she was bordering on too much for me to handle. It was impossible to walk her without her trying to attack every other dog we passed. I took her to K-9 in hopes of helping her become manageable because I loved her dearly and didn't want to have to give her up. Their training saved our puppy. They are totally positive in their training methods. And they trained me also. They provide follow-up training and socials to keep reinforcing skills in a safe setting. She is a beautiful and behaved dog now. She goes there twice a week to keep her socialized and the great part about it is that they reinforce good behavior during daycare play time. It is not a wild free for all. It is a time for them to enjoy, play and behave appropriately with other dogs. Every daycare day is like a mini-training for her. She loves it there. I say to her in the morning - want to play with your friends today and she starts jumping around and looking at her leash. They all love her there and she loves them. I bring her there with full confidence that she is getting the best care ever with daycare or boarding. Their training is amazing. DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG HERE!! My dog was completely neglected while staying here. When I picked her up she had infections in both of her eyes which we are still battling weeks later, (her eyes were blood red and had green goop) she apparently had diarrhea IN HER KENNEL, I don't know if they just didn't take her out of it or they just didn't care to clean her up because she had poop matted to her bottom and feet. When I dropped her off they assured me they were equipped to handle an anxious dog. They also told me if I called to check on her they would be honest with me on how she was doing. Well, I called and they told me she was doing "wonderfully" (their words) and that she was playing with other dogs. I emailed them a professional but concerned email the next day after picking her up and it took them 3 days to respond. When LeAnne finally responded, she told me she actually didn't do well at all and was super anxious the whole time. Why the lie? Why did they tell me they would be honest with me and then lie to me over the phone? I emailed back asking for more answers and nothing! No one is responding to me...I'm not being rude I just want answers and they are ignoring me. My vet bill was $225 after boarding her here. read more

I don't even take my dog to dog parks anymore because I see how unstructured and even downright dangerous they can be when people don't know what there doing or allow their dogs to be bullies. I HAVE to be the first person to not give 5 stars? I really don't want to, because I really love this place. Lets get to the positives. #1 The staff. These girls (i haven't seen any men working there) are impressive. All of them are certified trainers and don't allow your dogs to misbehave. That means not only are your dogs getting exercise, but they're getting trained at the same time. In fact... my dogs trainer actually works here! #2 Boarding. The boarding is great because they provide cots and toys for your pups. That saves me the hassle of trying to bring her giant bed every time she stays the night. Oh yeah... it's affordable. #3 Facilities. The building itself looks a little small but thats until you go inside. The big open playroom is well kept, and the dogs kennels are big and comfortable. They also have a pool so your dogs can take swimming lessons. #4 Socialization . Every Saturday they have 3 socialization classes. Dogs learn to be in an area where everyone is walking, but not playing. It's been a big help with my dog. Not only are they fun, but they're free after they evaluate your dog! So why not 5 stars? Opening at 8:30 and no daycare on Mondays or weekends. I'm sure there are plenty of good reasons for this but i'm sure many people can't accommodate that schedule well. I work 8-6 Monday through Friday so I have to take an hour off any time I want to take her in. We've been to 3 day cares and the other ones all open at 7 am which was really convenient. Have been taking our dog there for training, socialization and boarding for a couple years. Training & socialization sessions are great, and our rescue dog has made lots of progress. My one complaint is phone and email responsiveness. if anyone has ever actually answered the phone when I've called (including during intake and pickup hours) I don't recall it. The voicemail system is reminiscent of the 1980s. They state that for faster service send an email, but both options seem to be a one-day turnaround, when my reply expectations (and I don't think I'm unique here) are in minutes or maybe an hour. read more

I use to love to bring my dog here. Great with almost everything. But not until recently with some of the new staff members. I Think there names were Chou And Paige? Everytime I've gone to pick up my dog and Paige is there to hand him back to me she always gives me attitude without fail. She doesnt seem like she wants to even be there, let alone handle my dog. My wife and I were very hopeful when we decided to sign up our pup to k9 lifeline. We had heard great reviews and were very excited. We had been very eager to take Stella here to work on her behavioral issues. Before we decided to sign her up I talked with one of their trainers and told them all of th behavior issues our pup has and if this was the right place to bring her for that. They told me that they work on all of that and that it was a great place to bring her. After waiting 2 months to bring her in because of their long waiting list, we finally took her in last week. I had been thinking that when i dropped her off they would ask a bunch of questions like... how much food does Stella eat a day? Does she have anxiety? Does she have any specific issues we need to work the most on? But no... they just grabbed her from me and said you're all set and that they would be calling me to confirm a pick up time 4 days later. When all said and done they didn't teach her much of anything. They taught her how to walk properly on a leash... I specifically told them she has very bad aggression and barking issues. Not to mention they used a barking collar on Stella without our consent. With her particular breed, bark collars make them more aggressive. K9 gave us a guideline of two exercises to complete for 30 mins 3 times a day for a week until her follow up appointment. We were unable to train her and take her to her follow up because she got extremely sick while there. 1 day after we picked her up she started hacking up white stuff and wouldn't stop. A few days later she started throwing up 15 times in a row. We had to rush her to an emergency center because it was late at night. She ended up being diagnosed with gastroenteritis, kennel cough, and pneumonia. After all of this nonsense I'm out another 900$ because she got sick and she didn't learn much of anything while being at k9. They didn't even tell us her daily routine or what they would do with her besides the leash training. I am deeply saddened and disappointed with their training. Would not recommend going her for the training at least. You're pup might come home very sick. read more

There are the big things that make our life easier, like electricity and central heating. But small things can change our lives, too, and the K9 Lifeline leash is one of those things. My Great Pyrenees was the chillest, sweetest puppy I'd ever seen. When she became an adolescent, that changed, and she got very opinionated. She'd done well with a slip collar and leash at two dog training classes, but that no longer worked. She is strong as a buffalo, and I'm not large; and a senior. I was beside myself. A friend in Utah told me about the K9 Lifeline, and it changed everything. The dog walks like a dream with it. Still, she is young, and wants to greet people (which means, she'd knock them over) and sometimes has big reactions, like when a deer steps into our path. The nose piece is a life saver--I wouldn't be able to manage her at those times without it. Bless the person who invented this wonderful piece of equipment that allows me to keep a dog that I really like. read more

K9 Lifeline, run by a very competent staff and owner Heather Beck, is an amazing facility. The training staff there are very knowledgeable, and give so many great tools to help train our dog. One thing I love about K9 Lifeline and the trainers there is that there is no judgement passed on dog behavior. With many other trainers I have felt shamed for some of my dog's undesirable behavior, but with them, they assess the issue, and then give the owner many good tools for correcting and eventually overcoming the bad behavior. Pack to Basics is one of my favorite hours of the week, where owners can walk around and relax while the trainers correct the dogs as they socialize in a pack and learn to understand and respect the personal space and boundaries of the other doggies they interact with. Overall, this is the best facility around and I highly recommend going there, especially if you have a "problem" dog. read more

I can't say enough good things about K9 Lifeline. I adopted a dog in november, and he was nearly the perfect little pooch except that he was highly reactive to a specific pair of dogs (unfortunately, my neighbor's dogs). I spoke to a lot of trainers, and they all suggested reactive correction. K9 Lifeline got to the root of it by helping him get to a calmer state of mind. But we got so much more out of the training than "don't eat the neighbor's dogs". He is fun to walk on a leash, he is calm, obedient, and makes good decisions. I think he actually is thankful to have learned how to relax under stress. These folks really know and care about dogs, they helped bridge the communication gap between me and my fur babies. I can't ding them for this but I wish their Murray facility had similar training options (it's so much closer than Draper for me). But it was still very much worth the effort. read more

I am very selective about who handles and cares for my dogs. I travel quite often, and have lived in Canada and the United States. I have yet to come across a boarding and day care facility as knowledgeable, organized, and well run as K9 Lifeline. When I am in Utah I know my dogs are safe and in the hands of professionals while they are at K9 Lifeline. When we picked her up her entire body was trembling and she was stinky and dirty. We asked for a bath before pick up and they claimed they did not have time. I have been using K9 Lifeline for boarding for my sweet Chocolate Lab and left her there for boarding in the beginning of October. I paid extra for the VIP boarding and was surprised to see that they had taken her out on a field trip to a pet store (with photos of her in dog coats and on dog beds). I had no idea that she would be driven around town and was not contacted to see if it would be ok. The worst part, however, is that when she returned home she had Giardia. When I contacted K9 lifeline to speak to the owner/manager I was told she is only in the facility at lunch time at that the person I was talking to handled all the problems. When I explained that I was understandably upset that my dog was returned to me with Giardia and the costs associated with the diagnosis on top of the VIP boarding fee of nearly $500 I was told she would talk to Heather and get back with me and that they haven't had a Giardia outbreak since February (as if that is reassuring). It's been three weeks since the conversation and I have heard nothing. Apparently a paying client is not important enough to receive a return phone call regarding my concerns. I have several days left on my daycare pass but do not feel safe leaving her with them. I am very disappointed as they are very convenient to me and were highly recommended to me by a friend who uses there Murray location. Unfortunately Draper does not meet the same standard. read more
