Post-Op: "Mr. DeMille, I'm Ready for My Close-Up..."
Dave L.

I've had several vets over the years. I settled on Stone Ridge for the following reasons: 1. Their combined experience is unmatched. Livestock, pets, they've seen it all. 2. Their clinical approach. Look, as pet parents-caretakers-owners-etc, we all have our biases and expectations. The team here is diverse. There's at least one who gets you and will tailor your animal's care. 3. Convenience. I've never had to wait more than a few days to meet with a vet and they do make accommodations for emergencies... though those are best left to Pet ERs. 4. My often nervous pitbull loves going. Seriously. What dog ever likes going to the vet? They treat her so well and keep everyone safe. They even make special accommodations on especially busy and chaotic days when I'm sure those in the waiting room could do without a pitbull meltdown. Which is awesome considering we go monthly for allergy treatments. No vet is perfect and they're certainly not omniscient. A good relationship requires communication and knowledge about any changes in your pet's behavior or physical condition. Follow up any recommendations with probing questions about side effects, alternatives, etc. The vet doesn't know what you don't know. To them, this is all old hat. Allow them to bring you up to speed and get involved with your animal's care. Ps. I love Dr. Cunningham. He always leads with the inexpensive folk remedies but knows his stuff on the latest and greatest medications.

Superior treatment and experience for my new kitten and other cat. The front office team could be a bit more professional but overall I am thrilled with their service. Found a new vet!

My dog loves this place! Friendly & knowledgeable staff. This is our go to place. Can't get better than this

I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience here was truly disappointing. We brought our…read moreanxious pup in with the goal of scheduling a sedation grooming appointment -- something we were told required an initial vet visit to establish care first. Fair enough. We followed through, paid several hundred dollars for his vet exam and other recommended services, and assumed we were on the right track. Fast forward to when I called to schedule the actual grooming: I spoke with a woman who was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. She informed me (bluntly) that no groomers were taking on new clients -- something that would've been helpful to know before spending hundreds of dollars. When I expressed that, she offered no apology. Instead, she started sharing way too much personal information about staff members being out on PTO due to various family issues. I was shocked and uncomfortable. This is a business, not a therapy session -- I was calling to schedule a service, not hear about your internal staffing problems. Despite all this, I later received a call saying one groomer was willing to see our dog after all. Great -- we scheduled the appointment, and my husband even took PTO to be available. But the day before the appointment, we got another call canceling it because the groomer now had a personal issue. When I asked to reschedule, they flatly said no. No alternatives offered. No accountability. No care. We're now left scrambling to find a new provider -- but honestly, I'm relieved. If this is how they handle communication and client service, I wouldn't feel safe leaving our dog in their care anyway. Completely unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly not equipped to handle clients with even a basic level of respect.

I do not recommend the grooming. I brought my dog here who has issues with his anal glands and has…read moreto have them done by the vet, so anytime I take him to a groomer I am very clear that they cannot do any expression. Well they completely ignored me and did it anyway. I then spent the following 3 days, trying to soothe and comfort my dog who was having full panic attacks and licking himself raw. The vet confirmed his glands were expressed. To me this is unacceptable and I did contact them to file a complaint. I do not recommend any place who does not take your animals needs seriously.
