WORST PEOPLE EVER! They called my husband a b*tch in front of my 9 year old son when he went outside to call me! The receptionists involved were Paige and Emily. My husband was 9 minutes late for an appointment. He then had to wait 2 minutes in the waiting room to check in. Our dog was refused his exam and his shots. My husband went outside to call me, leaving my child who is under 10 years old in the waiting room. The people at the front desk then proceeded to call my husband, HIS FATHER, a b*tch and talk horribly about him IN FRONT OF MY CHILD. THEY BROKE MY SON'S HEART! Keep in mind my son just recovered from SURGERY AND STILL HAD THE SURGERY SCARS ON HIS FACE AND LEG. My husband had tried to explain the reason why he was 9 minutes late and explained that we had seen the surgeon earlier that day and to please just help us. WE HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR 5 YEARS!! Never again. How dare you call a son's father a B*tch in front of him. HE IS A CHILD. This person should be ashamed and fired. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET! RUDE STAFF WHO WILL CURSE ABOUT YOU WHEN THEY THINK YOU CANNOT HEAR AND WILL DO SO IN FRONT OF A CHILD WHO JUST WENT THROUGH A TRAUMATIC SURGERY! Boycott this business. They are bullies and are horrible people. I am so upset and shaking. HOW DARE YOU CURSE AT MY SON'S FATHER IN FRONT OF HIM! Zero damn stars!

Veterinarians have a commendable job, in helping those little animals that we can't quite communicate with the way we want. Koda was scared and she helped to comfort him, then give him three shots, so he doesn't get sick. She did good in helping him. He did great.

A Heart For Paws

A Heart For Paws

As a Draper resident, I can't say enough great things about Wendi Okabayashi and "A Heart 4 Paws."…read more Our rescued Black Lab/Great Dane mix had already been surrendered twice. He was jumpy, mouthy, pulled constantly on walks, and was honestly a handful. When we reached out, Wendi responded immediately and suggested meeting in a public place so she could observe him in a real-world environment. Within minutes, she had him figured out. She wasn't just reading the dog, she was reading us and showing how our communication was affecting his behavior. The transformation has been remarkable. He's now obedient, well-mannered, walks politely on a leash, and has become a cherished member of our family. What also sets Wendi apart is her kindness and thoughtfulness. When you work with her, you're not just hiring a trainer. You're building a lasting relationship. She truly cares about every dog she works with and has become an extension of our family. Even after completing her Board and Train program, she's always available to answer questions, offer guidance, and celebrate our progress. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, responsive, and professional dog trainer in Draper or anywhere in the Salt Lake Valley, Wendi is the person to call!

Thank you so much! Wendi is an incredible dog trainer! I knew as soon as I adopted my Shiba Inu I…read morewas in for it as he pulled so hard on leash and was hard to control despite being only 24 pounds. Wendi came highly recommended by a friend and so I did a group class with Wendi! I almost left right after arriving to the first group class as my dog, River, was letting out a super high pitched bark called a Shiba scream. I was so embarrassed by his bark I never even heard before that moment but Wendi was so kind to not let me leave and reassured me it would be okay and taught me what to do so that he stopped screaming and we could be successful during the group training class. That group class changed my relationship with my dog as I learned how to communicate and bond with my dog. I also did a few private lessons with Wendi to really learn how best train and lead my tough, independent, and stubborn Shiba. She truly changed my life and his as I could never imagine that I could walk him on a leash without pulling, let alone have him be calm enough to be able to take him kayaking with me!

I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.

Merry Pets saved the day . . . they saved my dog!…read more While out of town, I was notified by a passerby to my video doorbell that my dog was out at large. I immediately texted Merry Pets, and got a call back a couple of minutes later. One of their canine professionals was not too far from my house, and went to assess the situation. He searched the nearby streets and located my dog and returned her to my house and ensured she was secure. Merry Pets ensured the safety and well being of my dog. This could have ended very differently, as I live nearby to two busy streets.

I used Merrypets for group hikes for my dogs. My dachshund would come home appearing happy, and I…read moreassumed he was having a great time. Looking back, I think he was just happy to be home. I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
