Attentive, organized, caring, thorough, knowledgeable. Those are the first words that come to me and I have plenty other positives ones to describe them. I had taken or spoken to three others in the area and my senior dog is well cared for by the staff at Draper Animal Hospital. I trust them with my fur babies. They're thorough and get it right the first time rather than experimenting on them like some do and they take the right amount of time to assess the needs of your pet. I also appreciate their responsiveness when leaving a voicemail or emailing and the follow through on requests. My vet search has ended and happy to have found them.

After my visit with Dr. Chapman im ready for the Kings game.

The mantra "You get what you pay for" is true here. In just a quick perusal, the costs here…read morecompared to others are a little higher. But it's WORTH EVERY CENT! The docs here, Drs. Pew, Gavin, and Kolbaba, are the best anywhere. Sometimes I forget--until I talk to friends who live far away who can't easily come here. ANYTHING reproduction related, from ovariectomies to AIs, is their specialty, but they are my "Go To" vets for anything that needs a quick lab result, as they have their own lab on site. Bree is awesome and happy and helpful, even at "oh-my-heck" in the morning. If you just need vaccines, you can go anywhere. But anything else, here is the only choice! In an answer to the comment about "being worked in", perhaps some people don't understand that this clinic is like going to a specialty physician--you don't call a cardiologist and expect to be seen the same day, unless it truly IS an emergency. These vets are the best, and that is reflected in how full their schedules are every day. Last, but most definitely not least, this is a clinic that understands purebred dogs, dog shows, and those sorts of dedicated dog people. Dr. Pew used to breed and exhibit dogs himself, and is now also a respected AKC judge. No one here will read you the riot act for having an intact dog, though will nicely educate on the important decision and pros and cons.

For 10 years have I entrusted my beloved dogs to SMPC, and I used to LOVE them. But unfortunately,…read moresince Dr Mahoney has been a part of the team I have had several breedings screwed up by him. Several times they have put the wrong frozen semen into my bitches, and since I'm not allowed to oversee the procedure, I find out after they have inseminated my bitches with the wrong semen, and by then it's too late to do anything about it. I will STRONGLY recommend that you find a more professional repro vet than SMPC before you too become a victim of their professionalism!

My cat had his tail slammed in a door on a Friday afternoon, and my regular Lehi vet and everywhere…read moreI called was booked and couldn't see us until Monday. Everyone told me to drive my cat to a 24 hour emergency care clinic all the way in Salt Lake City. I called Animal Alpine Hospital though, and despite also being booked, they offered to let me bring my cat in to be examined in between appointments. I ended up coming 30 minutes early, during the middle of the vet's lunch hour. (I'd got my injured cat in the carrier and didn't want to wait at home.) The vet ended his lunch hour early to check my cat out, and determined quickly that he needed a tail amputation due to the severity of the injury. He stayed that night after his regular day's work to remove the tail, and met me early Saturday morning to pick my cat up. My cat is one week out and acts like nothing is wrong, despite having had surgery only days ago. They did a very good job fixing him up. And despite my (lovable to us, but super mean to strangers when he's scared and hurt) cat's attempt to murder the vet and his assistants, they understood that I loved my cat and took very good care of him. I was impressed with this clinic and their caring nature, and wanted to leave them a good review. Thanks, guys! (Sorry my cat tried to kill you.)

I have taken several animals to Dr. Kendig, with each one he made me feel like I was a bad pet…read moreowner. I was a vet tech for over 10 years and know when my animals need care. The fact I was bringing them in shows I love them and take care of them.I even had a dog I bred brought in to see how many puppies she had, we argued about the total he said I was wrong and he was the vet. When they were born I was right, he couldn't even read the X-ray correctly. I did stop going to him after the last berating when my cat had an abscess. But my last experience takes the cake. I have a very fragile breed of cat that does not handle vaccinations well. And has a grade 5 heart murmur. He went in for an emergency visit for an eye issue. I told them at the beginning I did not want a rabies vaccine if that was not OK to let me know immediately. 6.5 hours later I get a call saying they can't examine him because he doesn't have a rabies vaccination and that it's Utah law. It is absolutely not law but their own policy(it is law to get them licensed to have the vaccine but not examined by a vet), the cat has seen three other vets including a neuter with no issue at all. They forced me to get the rabies vaccine or take him somewhere else but because it was an emergency situation and they waited six hours I chose to get the vaccine to save his eye. I only went to him because I was told by the eye center in SL that he works closely with, that he could take care of him. Oddly enough my cat had been to that clinic in the past and didn't need the vaccine there. After telling me, the vet couldn't touch him until he was vaccinated, they called me back and told me he did great in the exam and now they're going to give him the vaccine with Benadryl. When I asked I thought he couldn't touch him without the vaccine. they didn't know what to say. They clearly just want to add to your already high bill and do not care for you or your pet. Upon picking him up and being told there was nothing he could do for him I was informed to take him to the clinic that referred him to me!! After bringing him home I noticed the stain they put in his eye looked like it was PUT IN THE WRONG EYE!!! I strongly advise not going to this vet!! There are many other wonderful caring vets out there, if he's easy to get into there is a reason.

Incredibly grateful for Dr. Layne 's compassionate assistance with our best ever cat friend…read morereaching the end of 20 years together. He was understanding and patient with us going through the grieving process with the end of our beloved pet's life in sight. He showed kindness and respect toward our little cat and toward us, her friends and guardians. He explained the choices very clearly and without pressuring us. I recommend him highly to anyone facing those difficult transitions.

Edited again to say the vet that showed up, was meh, but not only that he put our information on…read morethe dog he put down the same day so we also got this, leading to us worrying about actually getting what we ordered for our pet, or if we would actually receive him at all. Yikes. The crematorium blamed Dr. Lane for this. What a bad mix up! They assured us we would receive what we ordered. We received stuff from them 1.5 months ago and they were beautiful, so I am hopeful. Edited to say in response, exactly, you charge a very premium price and do not deliver on that, it's not handled seamlessly as it once was and it costs much more, there's no invoice, and you have to call the crematorium separately and pay them? Just call a mobile vet. Check on Reddit for similar reviews, etc. Last time we called lap of love through a family recommendation it was perfect. This time, not so much. We called to see what their schedule was like etc. when we scheduled it was $860! Last time, for way better care, concern, and service it was $485. Okay okay, we did ask for paw prints etc. we did just let a pet go down the street, we didn't want to put the cat in the car, cats hate cars. So it was a weird surprise when we were told we had to contact the cremators for that and it was an additional $150. So over $ 1000 to put a cat to sleep. We really should have just drove him down the street. Last time everything was taken care of and it didn't cost anything close, including the ceramic paw prints. This is not a premium service and is charging very premium prices. But down the street, after hours at midnight on a Sunday, that was $730, +$80 for ER services, and ceramic paw prints, and they gave us nose and paw prints, and fur clippings. Group cremation for both and they both used the same crematory for ceramic prints, etc. I have recommended for years and I will no longer do so. So misleading. Find a mobile vet directly.
