The vet is really good, she was able to save my dogs cracked tooth because she is specially trained to ado sealant and basically repair the tooth where most vets just pull it if it's broken. I was so happy they could save her large canine that she mostly chews with. The price was fair as well. Would highly recommend. Her teeth are perfectly white now. They also offer a sedation free dental cleaning service if the dog doesn't have major teeth problems like the broken tooth my dog has. If the dog has a good temperament they can clean the teeth with no sedation which would be much more affordable and safer for the dog. I am planning to return for the sedation free cleaning in the future.

Yesterday I took my dog in while he was having seizures, they were more concerned with getting him taken care of, they did the check in procedure after we were already with the vet. They let me have all the time I needed to say good bye and was even there to comfort me after he was gone. I will always go to Hunter Animal Hospital because of how caring, sweet, and compassionate they are. And they really know their stuff and care about animals!

This practice was acquired by NVA corporation and has had issues since Dr Mike left practice this summer. Over the last 2 months Hunter blended with West Valley Vet, another NVA entity. All of the Veterinarians have left, all of the Vet Techs except 2 have left, and the front office staff have absorbed the chaos. NVA has shunted operations to a clinic they own at a Redwood road campus and posted openings for new Vets for the Hunter site. It is very difficult to get services for my established dogs through this process of acquisition. Two of the acquired front office receptionists that came from West Valley Vet were very difficult to work with and made me feel very unwelcome after being with Hunter for years. I am personally and professionally saddened by this tremendous upheaval that is impacting continuity of care for my dogs. I am tremendously saddened that Hunter Animal Hospital as we have known and loved it is no longer. If you had asked me my personal and professional opinion of this practice in June, I would have told you how wonderful the staff, Vet Techs and Veterinarians are and how they had inspired confidence by the committed, caring treatments they rendered to us and our dogs. Today, a little over 2 months later I would tell you to evaluate the practice carefully to see if you can navigate the changes and upheaval at present. Arguably, this environment may change and a positive situation could exist in the future, but as of today, September 1st 2026, I would say to evaluate carefully your engagement with them to see if you can get the care you and your pet deserve. Thank you to all the old Hunter staff and Vets that we had great experience with. Best of luck to the oncoming NVA/Corporate employees. Personally, I am looking for a practice with more continuity and professionalism that I can count on. We are very saddened for this unfortunate demise of Hunter Animal Hospital.

I brought my 6-year-old German Shepherd to Herriman Pet Vet & Emergency Hospital because he was…read morerepeatedly vomiting. I went there expecting the priority to be determining what was wrong and how serious his condition was. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Sydney Hewitt was extremely disappointing. I felt there was too much focus on selling additional products rather than investigating my dog's condition. My dog was already taking FortiFlora probiotics daily, which I explained, yet I was repeatedly encouraged to purchase another probiotic, being told that using both would "work better." I also explained he was already on a bland chicken-and-rice diet. I was initially told by the nurse that blood work would cost about $250. Dr. Hewitt then instructed the nurse to charge approximately $390. I was willing to pay because I wanted answers and proper care for my dog. However, after returning home, I realized the blood work apparently had not been performed. My $453 bill included the exam, Cerenia injection, SQ fluids, pain medication, but no blood work. I specifically told the doctor I wanted to find out what was causing the vomiting. Instead, I was essentially told he was dehydrated from vomiting, and the underlying cause was never identified. Tragically, my dog passed away at home the very next morning. I understand that veterinary medicine can be unpredictable and that not every illness can immediately be diagnosed. My concern is whether my dog's condition was adequately evaluated and whether its seriousness was properly recognized. I trusted an emergency hospital to put my dog's health first. Instead, I left feeling that recommending and selling products received too much attention while my sick dog was left without answers. What happened to the oath and responsibility to put the patient's well being first? My dog was only 6 years old, and losing him the next morning has been devastating. Pet owners: ask questions, carefully review your invoice, confirm what tests were actually performed, and get a second opinion if something doesn't feel right. I wish I had.

He took the time to answer questions in detail, and my cat's doing much better after the treatment! High integrity at this clinic, which is very important. Everybody was friendly. Thank you!

I asked about it but they said I can go online to get it and gave me the link. Well online is thru their expensive pharmacy. I wanted to get it at Costco which is much cheaper. Would they call it in to Costco? No. They require me to go pick it up at their office and they'd call when it was ready. Did they ever call? No. I called them. This same scenario happened three times. Still not ready and every time they ask, "Now are you getting it from our pharmacy?" Deplorable. I've never been to a veterinarian refusing to call a pharmacy or give me a script, so making it impossible to get it anywhere else. In addition, they claim the dog I took in weighed 74 lbs and needed to lose 10 lbs weight so gave me a diet plan. I was looking at the scale the same as the assistant was. It fluctuated between 70-71. That's easy enough to ignore, but their customer service about prescriptions is atrocious.
