I bring my two dogs here a handful of times a year because I travel a lot for work. The last time I brought them here I hadn't been in quite a few months, and one of the employees greeted us at the door and knew both of my dogs by name! I already loved DogMode and have been a loyal customer, and such a small gesture of recognizing my dogs and knowing them by name reassured me that my dogs are taken such good care of when I board them. A huge thank you to the staff for taking such good care of Kona and Kane whenever they're here! They can't wait to get out of the car every time we arrive, and always come back home happily exhausted from all of the activity. read more

TL;DR Our dog Piper died 2 days after her stay. I wish communication was more direct. I wish I was given the opportunity to care better for my pet. I wish that the "permission to transport and treat" I signed was used more aggressively to help my dog. Did they communicate? yes. Did they communicate well? In my opinion, no. You can see pictures for communications and decide for yourself, but I wanted to share my experience incase this is not the place for your pup, especially if they have medication needs like mine did. When I picked her up, a caretaker had to physically lift her from the couch and carry her out. I wish I didn't just take a photo, but a video. Piper had stayed many times before but this was the first since she developed diabetes. I was told they could still care for her. Every time prior she would get "tummy issues" because she was a nervous dog and that cutesy language was enough to communicate in instances prior. This last time, not so much. I wish that this did not happen and i was not writing this review. I wish that I could have given my pet a better end if this was her ultimate end because of her diabetes. I hope that DogMode takes Piper's end and uses clear and direct language moving forward. On a customer care note I also will convey that when I went in to talk to the manager about my dogs death, I was told they could not meet and turned away. I had to return several hours later, in which time they took to call the emergency vet and illegally obtain my dogs records. I also felt a violation when I did get to speak with the manager when they insinuated my dog would have died anyway from her diabetes. read more

We bring two larger dogs to dogmode on the regular and the best endorsement I can give is they always come back TIRED! Dogmode has great hours, has live webcams to check in, and gives useful feedback when you pick up your dog. Absolutely recommend them to all the slc dog parents I meet. read more

It took me a LONG TIME to be able to write this review because it was a pretty traumatic experience for us and our chocolate Lab. We've been taking our pup to DogMode since the Summer of 2022 for daycare, but especially for swimming. Our pup is absolutely obsessed with swimming. That's part of what drew us to DogMode in the first place. Their canine aquatic center is huge, very clean and a definite favorite of our pup Dodger. Every time we took him there he was so happy to swim and play! Over the last couple of months though, I noticed a change at DogMode. When we first started going there, there would be 3 to 4 attendants at drop off and pickup. I was noticing that lately there was only 1. And I noticed a pretty large number of dogs in the playrooms when I'd watch on the doggy cams. On the day that our Dodger was bit at DogMode, he was brought out with the wrong leash. Nothing too concerning, right? Nothing out of the ordinary was mentioned to us at all. When we got home, Dodger was acting very odd. He was hanging his head. Very atypical for him. We then discovered a puncture wound on his left rear, closer to his left hind leg. I immediately started calling DogMode because I was considerably alarmed. No answer on the phone line. So I started texting. The initial response I got from DogMode was that NOTHING out of the ordinary had happened to Dodger that day. He's the only dog in our home. He wasn't injured before we dropped him off at daycare that day. A DogMode Manager then called me about 5 minutes later, telling me that they had reviewed video footage and that Dodger had been "nipped". It wasn't just a nip. It was definitely a puncture wound - where you could clearly see where the other dog's canine had punctured our dog. We were already on our way to the doggy ER; worried about possible internal injuries we couldn't see. All in all, I understand that things happen at doggy daycare. Even our regular Vet said that it's hard sometimes because of all of the different dog personalities in daycare at one time. What upset me and left me with no more trust and confidence in DogMode, is how things were handled once we informed them Dodger had been bit. Yes they eventually paid for all of the costs associated with our ER visit. However, the second DogMode Manager who spoke with me initially tried to only give me DogMode credit. Nothing was mentioned to me about the breakdown in their communications process that day, that allowed our dog to get bitten without their knowledge. And no one at DogMode ever asked me how Dodger was doing or recovering. I'm still a little heartbroken about the entire experience, because Dodger lost his FAVORITE swimming place. read more

All dogs are left in overnight kennels from 7pm- at least 7am. 12 hours without a bathroom break!!!!! When I asked about it at pick up the manager was extremely defensive and said that that's how it's always been and it's how it will be based on sound ordinances, take it or leave it. When I asked if there was anyway to get a potty break during the night even for an extra fee, or if he could be put in later due to sound ordnance at 10pm not 7pm, she simply said, no- this is what we do. I said, i'm not trying to upset or challenge you. I am just new and noticed on the cameras the 12 hour crate @ night and have a few questions about it. She said drop off hours are posted on line so I should have known. I agreed that drop off hours are posted, but drop off doesn't say locked in crate at 7pm, and that I wasn't upset, just wanted clarification if it would work to board on the future. I also told her that everything else I was so very impressed with and was not trying to be difficult. She said "do you want answers or do you want to keep being rude and interrupting me"? Crazy thing is she interrupted my question to argue, she then said she didn't care and said "you can choose to take your dog somewhere else if you'd like, we do what we've done sense 2019 due to sound ordinances" .... . So disappointed. I was so excited and hopeful for Dogmode but 1 extremely rude manager & 12 hours without a potty break makes me double think. read more

My dog never had to stay at a boarding facility until we moved away from family and she is 12 years old. That felt very stressful- DogMode feels safe, secure, and is extremely trustworthy. My dog always has a great time and I know she is taken care of! read more

Poor human customer service! How they decide to treat their human customers is inhumane! They would much rather take their customer's money, then try and work with them to create a positive experience. I called and booked a time for their aquatic center. By the end of the call, my appointment was booked, and card charged!! An hour later they text, not call, to tell me they that THEY made a mistake and would have to reschedule. When I asked if they could provide some sort of compensation for their mistake, it was like pulling teeth just to get $5 out of them! Glad to know what your customers' are worth.....$5! read more

Lizzy is the best groomer ever. She has taken care of my dog for 7 years. She is great, the business of Dogmode sucks. $50 deposit that they neglected to tell me was nonrefundable. I missed the grooming appt for an absolute legitimate reason. $50? That's quite a hefty fee. I love Lizzy, but Dogmode is very poor with customer service. Better to lose a loyal customer to keep $50? It's been really smoky outside so I've been hesitant to be as active with my boy. In search for finding indoor activity, I came across this place. My dog loves the water. The problem is he's terrible at swimming. His swim orientation was pretty fun! Except he didn't pass. But I'm happy with how everything was handled. Lisa did a great job. The facility was clean and it seemed like the dog boarding place had a good vibe going. I really wish I could just run in there and play with them all. I plan on having Boros boarded here when I leave town. Orientation, pass or fail does allow you to enter the pool with your dog afterwards so we'll definitely be coming back to work on his swimming. read more

Really appreciate how attentive and caring the staff are towards dogs. Brought my 6 month old puppy in and she was immediately at ease the with Bria, the DogMode employee who ran her daycare interview. Usually it takes her some time to warm up to people but she just ran up to Bria and was an instant fan. The interview itself was held in a small sniffing room where my puppy was graduating introduced to other dogs. After that, she did a trial and Bria even texted to keep me posted on my puppy's progress. They are very transparent, as you can watch all the rooms on YouTube. I have been bringing my doodle here for years and they are truly exceptional! Everyone on the staff is kind, helpful, and seems like they actually are really happy to be there. My dog is a delicate guy and nervous and they make me feel so comfortable leaving him and he always comes back exhausted from playing! The pool and groomers are just added bonuses to put them over the top! Everytime he gets groomed at dogmode everyone asks me where he gets his haircuts. We had Frank, our 6mo old Coonhound, in Dogmode's small dog boarding for 4 days/nights. We have never boarded a dog before and we had an awesome experience! Our dog sitter fell through and we needed a last minute Plan B. On recommendation of a friend I called Dogmode on Tuesday, needing to drop Frank off that Thursday. Chase, who answered the phone, could not have been nicer or more helpful. Like I said, we've never boarded a dog before and I was nervous about the whole thing. Right away Chase helped me feel at ease. I completed the appropriate paperwork and we dropped Frank off Wednesday at Noon for his "interview." He stayed for about 4.5 hours with the large dogs. Frank is about 30 lbs and still a puppy. I checked on him throughout the afternoon on the webcams and I noticed that his tail was down much of the time, however toward the end he seemed more comfortable and was playing a bit. When I picked him up the girl who brought him out (I believe it was Meg), said that he had been nervous about the tile (also true at home) and she recommended he either stay for boarding with the small dogs or they if he stayed with the big dogs they'd give him some breaks if he got overwhelmed. She said, "we really want him to have a good experience since it's his first time and he's so young." Just like Chase, she made me feel so comfortable and I knew she and the rest of the staff would do right by Frank. We dropped him off Thursday afternoon and I mentioned what Meg had told me and asked, for my own peace of mind, if they would start him off with the small dogs and then moved him to large if he got too rowdy or something. They said no problem. Over the course of our trip, every time I checked him on the webcams his tail was up and he was playing or otherwise looking content. It was such a relief to know he was in such great hands and having such a great time at doggy sleepover camp :) The webcams are awesome because you can check anytime. For an anxious traveler like me, this really helped put my mind at ease about Frank. We will DEFINITELY use Dogmode again for boarding and probably some daycare, and will recommend them to anyone we can. read more

DogMode has been such a great resource for me as a dog owner. I've been taking my dog (a mini golden doodle) to DogMode daycare a few times a week for over a year now and he loves it there! Every time we go, he's so excited and runs right in. The people there are great and it's obvious that they love their job and love the dogs. I trust them and I think that's at the top of every pet owner's mind when they leave their pet in someone else's care. Their facilities are nice and clean. I've taken my dog in their aquatic zone and he loves that as well. It's also great because you can watch your pet on their cameras at any time. She really blossomed with her assisted swims with Sami and Chase, who were both wonderful in building our puppies confidence in the water. Dog mode is our favorite! The facility is clean and doesn't smell. It's such a comforting feeling dropping your loved one off for a couple days and knowing they are in good hands. We especially love that we can watch our baby playing with all the other pups on the webcams. The staff is professional and kind. Another bonus is that there is an option to have your dogs groomed during their visit. We usually take advantage of getting her nails clipped. Our sweet and loving dog, Mr Cooper, was given to Dog Mode in wonderful health. Playful, agile, fast, and coordinated. Unfortunately, Mr Cooper experienced some kind of an "accident" or "slip and fall" incident at Dog mode that we were never made aware of. Cooper has now lost the majority function of his rear legs. We reached out to Dog Mode about his condition after getting him home as we saw his deterioration ramp up. After bringing it to their attention, they "remembered" he did fall while under their care on his last day, but failed to report it to us. Originally the owner, Susan Butler, seemed amicable and willing to work with us towards a solution, and finding out how this happened. She offered to pay his medical bills, and work with us on his recovery. But boy did that tune change when we informed her that an MRI was required and Spinal surgery was in his future, possibly adding up to well over $10,000. She immediately went on the defense, restricted sharing information with us, and lawyered up. She even called to threaten us when we contacted some of the techs to gather information about his injury and even laughed at Cooper's condition. That is not hyperbole, that is a fact. The owner of Dog Mode, Susan Butler, laughed about our dog's injury. Dog mode refuses to share any information with us, has hired lawyers, and has threatened to sue us for sharing this story. So if you are considering where to send your fur baby, think twice about interacting with an owner of a facility that laughs about a dog's suffering, lawyers up at the first sign of a dog's injury becoming expensive to her bottom line, and threatens to sue you for sharing your pup's story to raise awareness. Some people are unfit to look after animals, and Dog Mode's owner has clearly shown she is unfit to look after our precious pets. If zero stars was an option, I would have given zero. Do NOT take your pet to Dog Mode! Our dog experienced an accident/incident while being boarded here and we were never notified that ANYTHING was wrong. He now has an injury to his spine and DogMode refused to give us information about the incident that has potentially changed our dog's life forever. We even spoke to the owner, Susan Butler, and she was hostile toward us, refused to help in any way, and laughed at the fact that our dog was suffering. I understand that accidents happen, but she could have shown compassion for the situation and at least tried to be helpful. Instead, she told us to contact her attorney and instructed her staff not to speak to us even when we were seeking information to pass along to our veterinarian to help our dog. They should be shut down and not allowed to be in charge of any living creature ever again. read more

I have been taking my 1 year old Short Hair Pointer Lab to Dog Mode now for about 6 months. I use the day care service weekly and have also used their boarding. My dog is very energetic and destructive when he is left to his own during long periods of time during the day. Dog Mode has been the perfect solution for me when I work long days. It allows him to let his energy out by playing with the other dogs. He comes home exhausted as well as exhausted the entire next day too and to top it off, he behaves so much better when he is getting all that puppy energy out and there's less destruction in our home! I know my pup can be a handful at times with his energy level but all the workers at Dog Mode have always made me feel like he is welcomed here. (even after a local neighborhood dog watcher discharged him from her home due to him being too energetic) :( Not only do the workers greet him and I with a friendly smile but I have checked their webcams during the day and they are constantly interacting with the dogs during the day too. They really are dog lovers and it shows! I love that the facility is always very clean! What I also love is that dogs are separated by their size and age. There is a medium/large breed area, small dog area and also a room for the elderly dogs. There is TONS of room for them to run and play! Oh and their morning Valet service is awesome for me so I can drop him fast and get to work! One suggestion I would make is to have a stamp card or daycare pass similar to what is offered with the self wash as a little perk for frequent customers. Had a extremely traumatic weekend with this facility after coming here for 5 years and they have refused to simply call and talk to me on the phone. blanket accusations and damaging peoples reputations because they dont want to address what was one simple issue. shame on Emily and Susan the manager and owner. awful customer service and castigating people in such a negative light who did nothing wrong.It makes me sick the way they treat people.
