If you are a dog lover and a fan of justice please read!!…read more On September 5th we dropped our sweet puppy Ottis off for a 3 week board and train at Timberland Dog Training owned by Zoey Blume. Yesterday morning, September 17th, we received a text from Zoey stating, "This morning I took Ottis out to the bathroom and he started acting like he hurt his back left foot so just to be safe I'm going to take him to the vet this morning." After hours of waiting we received a call from the vet stating that Ottis had a broken femur. We called Zoey to see what happened and she told us that she tied his leash to the door and turned to "prepare" his food. Mind you this lady asked me to individually package 66 meals so her "preparing" his food would have taken 1 minute. Anyways, she said when she turned back around she noticed that he was holding his back leg and that's all she knows. We have had 2 vets and the surgeon say that they do not believe her story. The break is so severe that there is a possibility that we will have to amputate his leg. At the end of this we are going to be looking at about 10k in vet bills. We asked Zoey to split the bills with us and she is not willing to contribute a dime. She won't even refund us unless we sign a contract releasing her from all liability. This has been an absolute horrible 48 hours and their complete lack of empathy is despicable. I'm not sharing this for donations because the only person that should be paying is Zoey. Please share so nobody makes the same mistake I did. DO NOT TRUST ZOEY WITH YOUR DOGS!

TOTAL SCAM, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND STOP COMMUNICATING WITH YOU. I'd like to preface with…read morethe owner offered to take him longer, but after what we have experienced we do not trust them with our dog and have found a new trainer. We gave them a VERY difficult dog. We told them all of his behavioral issues and they guaranteed that he would be "off leash reliable" and they say their guarantee is "as long as it takes" and that all of the behaviors we gave were something they could handle (ie. jumps on people and kids, doesn't listen at all, counter surfs, escapes everything, chews everything etc). He is not only NOT off leash reliable, he has to be on a head collar, and e-collar and eventually a slip leash and e-collar as advised by the owner. How is that "off leash reliable"?beats me! They literally taught him sit, down, stay, heel, and place in a tiny quiet room everyday. No high distractions, no dog parks, nothing we were told upon leaving him there for 6 weeks. We were surprised he was coming home so quickly with all the bad behaviors we gave. And we were right to be worried. They gave us a 90 day go home plan that basically felt like they were telling us to train him. The schedule is INSANE and we both have FULL TIME jobs. The schedule also calls for him to be in the crate 2-4 hours after each 15-30 minute training I do. We talked to other trainers this week about what we've received from Wasatch Canine Camp and all other trainers take the dogs to HIGH distraction environments like dog parks, community parks, etc. they also all said "it sounds like they just want you to train him"...I get that he needs to learn to listen to us as well but after 6 weeks with them he won't even listen to us INSIDE of our house (he's been home almost two weeks now And I'm extremely strict with the schedule they gave). On "go home" day the trainer told us he was exhausted from playing and when our dog made multiple mistakes he kept blaming it on how tired our dog was. We picked him up at noon so We weren't sure why he was so worn out by them. We definitely figured out why they did that the next day! When I told the owner this she called me a liar saying he wasn't playing that day and she checked her security footage. I literally have videos (because I taped the entire go home session) of the trainer telling us he just got him from playing and videos of the trainer telling us "he's making more mistakes right now because he's so tired". She tried to tell me he was tired from his bath and seeing us lol. I would absolutely not recommend this company and we are currently filing in small claims court to get our money back. For $3,000 we got our dog back barely knowing any commands and sure as hell wont listen to any of them. He jumped on two people the second day we had him home. It's very weird to me that they had him for 42 days but WE supposedly have to train him for 90 days.... and even after 90 days we were told not to take him to high distraction environments like dog parks lol. Unbelievably disappointed. DO NOT use this company. We just want our money back and they just keep saying they'll take him longer and send someone to do a session at our house. I have told them multiple times that I found a different trainer I trust but they have chosen to steal outlet money and how we have to go to court.

She refunded most of my money, but what I was really looking for was help with my dog's protectiveness in the house. I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.
