Right off the freeway, this pet store is easy to find in a little strip mall. It's not as big as commercial pet stores, but it doesn't need to be. Pets Plus carry products mostly for dogs and cats that are higher quality and better for your pets. So if you have pets that have allergies, sensitive stomachs, special diets for medical conditions or just prefer grain free, limited ingredients, etc then this is the place to shop. I did see a few things for fish and small pets like rabbits and hamsters, but it isn't a wide selection. They don't have fish for sale like big pet stores, but I've seen cute little rabbits there. Pets Plus usually has our favorite food and shampoo/conditioner in stock. Earth Born and Avoderm, respectively, which are both amazing products because of quality and how good they are for my pup. Petco and Petsmart don't carry these brands I love, as well as other high quality dog food and brands. So I'm glad Pets Plus has reputable brands in stock. Friendly customer service, usually. On the weekends, they have Mobile Vet Care from 10 am to 11:30 am. We usually go to those clinic hours because the prices are unbeatable for vaccine shots, dewormer and flea medications, fecal test, micro chip, and regular annual check up. I've always had a positive experience with the mobile vet care and never had a problem. It's quick and easy to get my dog's shots up to date. Most importantly, it's very affordable. My previous vet used to charge almost $300 just for 3 vaccinations (yeah, what a rip off and I didn't know any better). After going to this weekend clinic, we never spend more than $30 for shots and we never ever went back to that bougie vet ever again. On very rare occasions, the clinic isn't there in the morning because they couldn't find a vet to show up or something, but usually they find a replacement veterinarian by the afternoon. I think around 1 pm or 2 pm (not super sure), they go to their next shift inside another Pets Plus in San Juan Capistrano, which is only 3 exits away (Del Obispo) near Starbucks. Overall, this store is great. It carries a variety of high quality brands for dogs and cats. Friendly customer service, clean and organized store, and has an affordable pet clinic on the weekends. It might be a little pricier than the big competition, but the quality of food is unbeatable for your beloved fur babies. This is the only store I go to for my dog's food, although admittedly, I do go to Petsmart for things like a new collar, harness, or dog clothes. read more

Puppy eats adult food. He would not reach out to the other Pets Plus to see if they had the food our puppy is on in a smaller size bag than 30#. When I called the other store, the staff member was helpful and told me what their availability was. This is a great place to shop for pets! They have a great selection of food, toys, bedding, leashes, etc. I normally just buy food/treats and toys for my little dog. I phoned up early morning and was told that the vaccination clinic would be open. got there in good time -- found out that the van had broken down and the clinic was not going to be held. wasn't their fault, but this has happened before -- maybe they need to check the vehicle beforehand to make sure that it's roadworthy. I'm super close to this store so it's convenient to get my cats food from this location but what makes it absolutely five star worthy is the customer service. Everyone's so nice and accommodating to my questions and concerns. My cat took a turn for the worst and when it came to eating she just could not hold anything down. They carry a special food that's made fresh daily in their refrigerated section that my cat absolutely LOVES!!!! I love this place! Cute little store but they have the best and healthiest dog food with good sales. Whenever I walk in someone always greets me and the staff are always very friendly to me. I just buy wet and dry dog food there and maybe a pig ear, their treats and other things are kind of expensive and I'm as cheap as it gets so I head across the street to the dollar store to pick up treats (that dollar store has the best treats! Beef whips and AKC treats and everything for $1!) But the people working there are so helpful I always head back there for my wet and dry dog food. read more

The staff here are very nice and very helpful... the only problem is that they have such poor inventory of things that count. Lots of fluff articles that are way over priced. I would love them to expand the variety of cat food. Today I tried to find kitten food and they had next to nothing. Also lacking was unclumping litter selection. Clumping litter is so bad for the animal! And, they have a whole wall of dog leashes and collars and about 4 cat collars. Frustrating! That being said, they have a great location. read more
