Beautiful, real, amazingly prepared food. Everything is handmade, fresh food. We had tapas, salad and cake and it was all perfect.

This was possibly the least favorite meal that we've had in Spain, unfortunately. After a couple…read moretries on Christmas night for other restaurants, which we found were all closed, we ended up coming here bc we had seen it open (but fairly empty) around 8:30pm. It later filled up... possibly bc of limited restaurant openings in the area. There was definitely a language barrier- at some point my mom has questions about dishes and the waiter called over one of the cooks who spoke better English. We definitely had a miscommunication about paella- they initially let us order seafood paella for one person but later told us that the paella were minimum for 2? But then the two servings arrived at different times??? One came hot and the other one was lukewarm. Paella was good, according to my mom who knows better than I do on this dish. There weren't that many seafood pieces though, and it arrived in a regular plate instead of in a paella pan (TripAdvisor photos from 2017 indicate they used to?) My dad ordered some sort of Iberian steak- it was dry but tasty. Could have done with some sort of sauce. My mom's fish arrived raw in the middle- I ended up explaining to a waiter using Google Translate and he immediately whisked the plate away- when it came back, it was perfectly cooked. Our favorite dish (at least for my mother and I) was probably the dish that they served immediately (lettuce, tomatoes, onions and some vinegar dressing) and the mixed salad which was... more of the same but with some beans and a different ratio of the same items. Sangria was also forgettable. Overall, really 2.5 out of 5, but I upgraded it to 3 since they fixed the fish. There are really plenty of good options nearby.

We had New Year's eve pre-fix dinner here and while it was delicious and they certainly gave you…read moreyour money's worth (unlimited wine and cava) we think the fois gras pate made us sick. The star was the main dish, grilled iberico pork with potatoes. This place was packed with locals and the food was good, just don't order the pate. The service was phenomenal for Seville and the waiter tried hard to accommodate our 2 year old (which we agree is tricky at a fancy place) they brought him soup and chicken and a chocolate torte cake. Super nice.

Take this 4/5 with a grain of salt.. Let me set the scene. Sevilla was pouring! I was wearing a…read morehuge coat and still.... My coat got soaked. So I was desperate. I had been walking all day, it had been raining all day. I was over it so I needed a quick refuge. Now, I'm weary of places with empty terraces because I can't help but wonder: why aren't people going there? But the thing that convinced me was the outside heater. I prefer to dine outside for ventilation and the conveniently placed heater looked like it had my name tattooed on it. I was received by a nice waiter, who quickly explained the menu to me. It was a sushi place, and yet here I was... looking for afternoon dessert... luckily, they had something! I ordered a wild bloom: a warm brioche with vanilla ice cream within, accompanied by red fruit and whipped cream. My god! Heaven on earth! Can you imagine? You're soaked wet & tired and you're welcomed by a heater with a dessert you've never had before?! Just off of that moment Tropiqual gets a 4/5 from me. And I'm bummed this was my first time trying this delicacy?! P.S: I used the restroom and it was fine! So yeah, good, short experience given the circumstances, hence my prior warning. But give it a try! Maybe your experience will differ from mind. And that's okay right? That's what makes it all interesting!

The best food I had in all of Seville.. stopped by this place for late dinner during my recent trip…read moreto Seville and this place did not disappoint. We ordered their roasted lamb with cous cous, garlic shrimp croquetta (that was the croquetta of the day), pork cheek stew with potato purée and the chocolate panna cotta for dessert. We also ordered their sangria and tinto de verano. Every dish we ordered was AMAZING - tasty flavorful well seasoned melt in your mouth meat bursting with flavors. We devoured every bite and it was hard to pick a favorite. Both the lamb and pork dishes were 11/10. Not just the taste but the presentation of every tapa was fantastic. Their drinks were also great. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. Since we walked in around 11pm, we got a seat and were well taken care of all thru the night. Also noticed alot of veggie options on the menu which was great. Service was awesome ambience is chic. I am certain I am going to crave their tapas once I am back home. Highly highly recommend this place when in Seville.

Where do I begin? Let's talk about the ambience. To call this place rustic would probably capture…read moreit best, it's really probably more like a cafeteria or a school room at a very old school. Tables perhaps a bit close together, not terribly comfortable. Loud, busy. As far as the service, it was our impression that our waiter was the only person serving the 30 or so tables in their dining room. Suffice it to say the service was not fast and not good. Inexplicably, every time we ordered a Coke we were asked if we wanted a Coke Zero. If I wanted a Coke Zero I would have said the words Coke Zero. Even when I asked for another Coke, he again asked "Coke Zero?" It took next to forever to get the check, and forever to get a cappuccino. At one point I took it upon myself to point the waiter to a table behind us that had been desperately attempting to get his attention. This was all not good. As to the food. First, our fault for not knowing what tataki meant. We did not expect to receive salmon that was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. So that one is on us, although we also think the meal came tepid at best. The lamb on couscous was dry and tough. The pork cheek stew was actually pretty good if a bit gluey. The calamari was good. The sushi as they called it was average. What they called the tiramisu was more like a pudding with some liqueur and chocolate on the top, and a little bit of breadish stuff in the bottom. Not my idea of tiramisu, and probably not yours either. So we could not get too excited about these various dishes. But what was particularly frustrating and bizarre was that two people sitting across from us ordered food that looked absolutely delicious. So we got to sit there wondering why we didn't order what they ordered. They ordered a large beef dish with potatoes which is on the menu, and we think they ordered a large octopus meal although we are not sure. Everything they had looked better than anything we had. So it may be that we somehow just picked the wrong items. So it was a strangely frustrating meal. This place has good reviews and we expected good tasting food. Unfortunately it did not work out that way, and the ambience and service were negative contributing factors. I can't entirely write this place off, only because the food other diners received actually looked very good. But I don't think I would go there again.
