L'Oca Giuliva is okay. Yes just okay. Actually it is a TTT restaurant (tourist trap type) trying to disguise itself as an authentic Italian. We should have known better as the location screamed "come on in to a charmingly decorated restaurant and pay outrageous prices for a pretend authentic Italian meal". Oh well, our fault. We were short of time as we were catching our train for a five hour journey. Obviously planning on a satisfying meal for lunch. Service was just that. Service. No big smiles welcoming us in. No friendly greeting. No explanation of the menu. No suggestions. Though the interior had only three tables occupied and one table occupied outdoors, we definitely did not feel like we were treated as guests who would be spending 60€ for lunch (food only, no beer or wine). Not that the food was real bad but so many things were lacking to make it even good. First off, they plop a small paper sack of two hard as a rock bread rolls in frint of you. No explanation. Drop and go. Yep, remember its not free. This practice sucks and should be illegal. You will pay 3,80€ to gnaw on stale bread while hoping you don't break a tooth or make the roof of your mouth raw. I know, it was our choice to go ahead and eat it, but since we had decided to have only one meal today, we were very hungry by 13:30h. I had no idea it would cost 3,80€. At most this day old should cost 1,50€, no actually it should be free! You are also served a few black olives (strange as in Italy I have only been served green). Olive oil, wine vinegar and salt & pepper was on the table. Good thing for the oil since soaking the stale bread in the oil helped us swallow. But...wine vinegar? At an Italian restaurant?? Where is the balsamic? Strange. Our starter was the Caprese Salad. In my attached photo, I actually 'dressed it up' on my own with oil, vinegar, salt & pepper. Oh my. Look at this. For 15,90€ we got a PLAIN sliced not ripe flavorless tomato and a round of simple mozzarella cheese with a decortive teeny sprig of basil. How pathetic! What would this cost you at the local Consum grocery?? Possibly 1,20€ for two tomatoes (though this was most likely only one and a half tomatoes) and 3,50€ for a ball of mozzarella. Not even quality Burrata cheese!! No flavor. No basil. No herbs. No pesto. No balsalmic reduction. No SOMETHING to enhance the empty flavor. And the price. Oh my. For our mains, we both chose off the 'fresh pasta' menu. Again this is PASTA and each dish was quite pricey. Mine was the Tagliatelle Tartufo. Not even FRESH mushrooms. Really. Canned mushy 'shrooms were stirred into my pasta with maybe a bit of truffle oil to pretend to taste like truffles. No shaved truffles. No truffle flakes. No offer of Parmigiano cheese - which is always offered on a pasta dish. No one ever came by to offer any shaved cheese. No twirling spoon. How is this an ITALIAN restaurant??? And the price? For a fist size portion...16,50€. YIKES! Husband ordered the Ravioli Pecorino Pere. At least it was flavorful with the butter and thyme sauce. But the pear stuffing was very limited. These were the flatest - or least filled ravioli we have ever seen. An easy way to stretch their costs but still offer the dish. This cost, crazy at 16,90€ Bottom line, this is more like a VERY overpriced fast food Italian. They are definitely not using Nonna's old original recipes. L'Oca Giuliva is here in the tourist trap area of Seville to do just that. TRAP you into paying absolute crazy high prices then having the nerve upon checkout with the credit card reader to ask for a tip to be added to your tab. Come on. This is Spain. Tipping culture doesn't work like that. It is not a requirement!!! We leave a few Euros IF we feel service/food/experience was exceptional. Our experience was none of these. Seville is such a charming place. The restaurant is located in a great location within the center of the city. We made reservations in advance and arrived early. You definitely want to RSVP in advance. We saw multiple people being turned away, as they were fully booked. The all white theme decor was cute and instagram-able. We shared a few dishes to get our hands on their best dishes. The Mortadella Pistachio Pizza was outstanding. Fiordilatte, pistachio cream, bologna mortadella, provolone and ricotta. We balanced out the pizza, with the Natural Salad, young sprouts, Burgos cheese, blueberries, raisins, almonds, pistachios, sunflower seeds. Rarely do I give a restaurant 5 stars but oh my this was a hidden gem in Sevilla in the mist of very mediocre restaurants. Many things stood out to me from the first first call I made to make a reservation the server informed me there were no more reservations however I should come by around 9:30pm and that likely there would be a party leaving at that time freeing up a table. We were up for the gamble since we were in the mood for Italian food. We arrived and saw the same server I spoke to and informed him we were there waiting for a table of 4. He said he thought in about 10 minutes he would have availability. And sure enough we were seated and started our experience. We ordered a tricolors pizza as a starter it was so good. Real authentic Italian pizza. Delicious dough. We each ordered a different dish and were able to sample the different pastas. I ordered the ravioli with pear and OMG it is high up there on one of the best ravioli I've ever had. We also ordered the gnocchi pomodorp and the ziti. All the pastas tasted so fresh they are made in house and you could taste that they use really good ingredients. We finished off with a cannoli and a tiramisu for dessert which were both outstanding. We loved it so much we will be back again tomorrow night and this time we made a reservation. read more

Excellent food, service and ambiance! Kind, thoughtful staff and clean restrooms. My husband and child had eaten pasta there while I was in a meeting with colleagues a previous evening. He craved the same dish for take out a few nights later, so I left last-minute souvenir shopping at Calle Sierpes and walked 25 mins to the restaurant. Sevilla was 100 degrees and I was hot and sweaty in spite of it being almost 10pm. The staff was amazing and offered me several glasses of cold water while I waited 10 mins for our tortellini to go. I used the super clean restroom to wash my face while waiting for the food. Terrific place, prices, food, staff, and service. 5/5 stars. We will go back there next visit! read more

Wow! What a great place hidden in plain sight. Came here with my wife and kids, ages 13 and 18. We were not wanting more Tapas and wanted to see if there were more traditional places out there. This place is great. Small, but had an indoor and outdoor section. It has a lively feel and a great vibe. Staff is friendly and helpful and service was neither rushed or lacking. For apps we had the tomato and burrata. Solid choice. We also ordered a main course margarita pizza that we shared. Delish coal fired. Then for main courses we had the Gnocchi Al Ragu, the Tortellini Pasticciatta, Paccheri alla Sorrentino and the Rigatoni. For desert we shared the chocolate cheesecake. Add 2 bottles of red and one has perfect meals. All was delish , and while each family member will say their meal was the best, for me it was the bite of my daughters Gnocchi. It was so light and tasty. We loved the place so much we came back the next two nights, trying many of their offerings. Had the Gnocchi starter---puffed Gnocchi balls covered in a blanket of yummy ham. Had the spicy rigatoni, the hazel nut cheesecake, and the orrietta dish with a red pesto. Horrible service. Arrived at 11 pm when signs and Yelp shows that restaurant closed at 12 pm. We are told that restaurant closed in 30 minutes (11:30 pm) and kitchen in 5 minutes (11:05 pm). The service was horrible. No bread (supposedly ran out). The entree I wanted, not possible I assume it meant it they did not want to bother making it. Entrees arrived with appetizer within 5 minutes of placing order. We are given the bill without being asked about dessert. I ask (11:25 pm) to be told that the kitchen is closed which I understand applies to cooked or heated desserts but cold or prepared desserts? When I question the server, she then offers up an option. We drove from Portugal to Sevilla, Spain to try this place that was recommended by my friends sibling. Did not disappoint. We started with the marguerite pizza. Crust was like bread in pizza form. Full of deliciousness. The bread that came with the meal was also buttery soft. I had gnocchi with zucchini and cherry tomatos, not to rich but bursting with flavor! My husband had the lasagna that had enough meat to be considered meat lasagna! Our friends had the tortellini with pear and pesto gorgonzola cheese sauce and spaghetti carbonera. This place was highly recommended to me and my sister by our cousin who loved this spot when she visited Seville. This place is a 4 minute walk from Calle San Jose (Hotel Fernando), and had so many other cute restaurants near by it. Really cute area. We did have a hard time finding this place because I think there was another Osteria near it and our GPS wasn't a lot of help. The inside looked like a story book - with white and grey and blue hues - it was beautifully cozy. We ordered the Bruschetta + truffle fettuccine with a bottle of red wine that was recommended to us by our server. The bruschetta was delicious, and each one literally got better and better. The fettuccine was delicious and thick and creamy and very filling! Definitely worth the hype! The servers were nice, the wine was food + the food was fresh. Great Italian Food and a nice break from the endless tapas here in Seville. We made a reservation for 10:00 on a Thursday night and it didn't appear necessary as there were several empty tables throughout our dinner. Service was spotty. We were helped by various people, some of them were friendlier than others. My rose wine was decent, my least favorite that I had tasted while in Seville. We ordered the margarita pizza and mushroom fettuccine. Both dishes were great, the pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce wasn't too creamy. The pizza was thin crust and the tomato sauce was the best part. We got tiramisu for dessert and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! We finished the whole thing and wanted more. After waiting for almost  1 HOUR, we asked the older waiter, he replied "i don't know, i will tell you". Another  20 minutes went by, I asked him again. He replied  "you are lucky to get a reservation here. Do you want your food or not ?". We feel that there is no restaurant that can be this rude. We paid for the water and left. We had just finished watching a Flamenco show on Sunday evening and we were ravishing hungry. We walked by this restaurant earlier and it was closed but on the way back to our parked car they had reopen from siesta. We lucked out and were seated right away on a busy evening. The dining room atmosphere was tastefully decorated and cozy. We started off with goat cheese salad which was bomb delish. The goat cheese was deep fried and the salad had slices of sweet strawberries highlighting the salad. We followed with pizza topped with mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes from Calabria, anchovies and black olives. Our last entrée was pappardelle & prawns - was as good as what I experienced in Italy a few years ago! I was really impressed with the food, service and quality of this restaurant and the only con was we didn't have room for dessert and we had left over pizza. My sister and I stumbled upon it after a tour of Alcazar (very close + good location) Has authentic, savoury, and creamy Italian dishes all cooked PERFECTLY al dente. I honestly felt like I had been teleported to Italy. And for truffle lovers - order the TRUFFLE MUSHROOM FETTUCCINE. Tons of chopped up little truffle mushrooms swimming in a creamy white peppery truffle sauce. I didn't want to stop chewing this dish so the taste could stay in my mouth FOREVER.
