Decided to go with the board and train to ensure she was set for success while away on a trip. I can tell you this place is legit, has the skills, and genuinely cares about their guests. First class service and great communication before/during/after. My puppy came in with minimal training and left a star. Sit, down, stay, leave it, more respect with the cats and my resident dog at home, and way more confidence. We worked with Dakota on improving Ariel's attitude toward visitors at our home and she did a great job encouraging Ariel to be confident with visitors and like their presence - even having several of her friends and family members come over to increase Ariel's exposure which was HUGELY HELPFUL. As a new pup owner, I wanted to make sure my puppy was set up to be a good canine and companion. I reached out to Allison to learn more about the board and train program and she instantly put me at ease, she runs a great model of training one pup a time in her home with her family and pets (unlike some programs where there are multiple dogs being trained at the same time). Allison was able to focus on a few key things I was hoping to have addressed, as well as teaching my pup the basic commands and reinforcing potty training. She also worked with her on being on the leash and reacting to new people/pets when out and about. Allison was great about giving me updates every 48 hrs as to my pup's progress (including photos), both what she was doing well on and where she was struggling. She was quick to respond to questions and provide clarity. When I picked up my pup, she had mastered her basic commands and Allison walked me through how to reinforce training/continue working with my pup at home. She also sent me a wonderful Word doc that outlined all the things I may need to know. I was a little nervous about sending my sweet puppy away, but she came back her wonderful self with better mastery of her commands. Legitimately the best trainers/walkers/boarding I have ever worked with. I called Peticularly perfect in 2017 for a dog walker for my dog who, to be honest, was a complete nightmare. The walkers were great but it became obvious that my dog was a problem (so I was really the problem) because I had not enforced any boundaries with my dog. Fast forward to 2020 and my dog is far from perfect, but a decent companion overall. The training help we got is ongoing. They have been able to meet all of our last minute boarding and walking requests. Also, they know all of my dog's special needs and remember him even when they haven't seen him for awhile. Honestly, I wish I could give them more stars because I am not sure I would have been able to keep my dog without Peticularly Perfect. We are very impressed! Dakota came to our home last night for our first training session. Our rescue dog, Casper, had no training whatsoever and has food aggression. Poor little guy comes from a hoarder situation (43 dog kept in an RV) so I'm sure he had to fight for his share of the food. We've been using Peticularly Perfect for just over a year now. We can't say enough good things about this company. We schedule daily visits on weekends where we need to be out of town and they always have availability for a pet sitter to walk and play with our dog, even during holidays. When we initially signed up, someone came to our house to meet our dog and learn about our needs. At the time, he was about one month post-emergency spinal surgery and had specific care needs. We were nervous to leave him to the point where we were thinking about canceling our trip. But after meeting with someone and discussing everything, it put our mind at ease. They were more than willing to accommodate all of our instructions. To this day, there are some things we need to watch out for in regard to his spine and each sitter has listened to our requests without hesitation. Earlier this year, we booked the incorrect date for sitters and our pup was left for several hours without anyone there (luckily we caught it early!). With one phone call, the owner was able to get someone to our apartment ASAP and schedule out the rest of the weekend for us without hesitation. Melany is our regular sitter and does a great job at providing us with plenty of photos and feedback about each visit. All of our other sitters have been great as well (Lauren, Brenna, and whoever else I missed!), with a special shoutout to Courtney for all the love she showed our dog over the holidays in December! It means a lot when your sitters care about your pet as much as you do (which is definitely hard to live up to). I cannot recommend Jonathan enough. I have a German Shepard/ Great Pyrenees that was aggressive. Lunging at people and dogs, biting I mean a complete nightmare. My dog couldn't be in the house other than stay in her crate because she was trying to attack the cats and would not listen and jump and break everything. Outside she destroyed our fence our furniture just a complete nightmare. Then I called this place and got Jonathan as a trainer and my dog is amazing me. She is inside all day now with the cats and a new puppy with no issues. She has not been destroying anything and tonight we had friends over and she was sweet and playful. I can't believe it I don't even think this is my dog. It's unbelievable and he is amazing so kind and patient with dogs. Our dog has been going to Peticularly Perfect for almost a year now. We started off with the 3 week board and train program when our puppy was 12 weeks old. We picked her up to play on saturdays and stop mid-way through the program to see her progress. She picked up things quickly and came home with all of her learned commands. Allison also came to our home a week later to see how she was doing in our house. We were very happy with the program! We also have our dog go here once a week for an overnight stay to play with the other pups - she absolutely loves it there. She does come home dirty (but she's having fun), so I just make sure to either bathe or wipe her down and brush after since she is primarily an indoor dog. We will continue to come here and if we get other pets, they will too! They are very flexible with my last minutes booking and are very accommodating. I had a wonderful experience working with (trainer) Johnathan. I am not sure how to explain exactly what Johnathan did but it worked for me and my dog. Johnathan is patient, kind, intuitive, resourceful, and exceedingly generous with his knowledge and time. While working with Johnathan we also did some herding sessions with Action K-9. Action K-9 has their own trainers and in the past, with other trainers, difference in trainer styles could cause problems. Not with Johnathan, he talked with the other trainers and shared thought processes so that when I was working with both groups I could still feel confident in how to work with my dog in the different environments. This was my first time using a pet sitter and Ellen from Peticularly Perfect did an excellent job caring for my kitties while my family was away for 4 days. Online set up was easy, they ask a lot of questions in the form but it's all important info to make sure your pets are well cared for. Plus, if you use them again, the info is all there. PP charged us $20/day for a 15 minute visit that included feeding, water, playtime and litter box cleanup. Ellen sent a daily update with a photo of my kitties and a description of what she did. Her time in and time out indicated that she spent extra time with them, which I was grateful for since my cats love attention and love. I was pleased to find happy, fed cats when we came home and a stink-free home. I was worried about safety at first, which is why I have always used boarding instead of sitting, but their method of entry into the home is very secure and my kitties were much happier being able to stay in their environment and my husband and I were happy not to have to transport disgruntled felines to and from the vet boarding location. We choose to have our dog walked 3 times a day, with 45 minute visits (so the cat could get some loving too!) Every time Kate visited she would send updates with pictures of Koda and Cathy. So 3 times a day I got to check in with my pets. This to me goes above and beyond. As simple as a text message may seem, for a crazy pet owner like me receiving them put me at ease and allowed me to enjoy my vacation! We even ended up getting stuck in NY due to weather for an extra day. I was nervous at first but once I called Kate she assured me that all would be okay.
