Amazing people ... super Awesome
Millie H.

A few months ago our Transmission on our car that we brought brand new in 2016 finally gave way. My husband had found them, I am not sure how or if it was recommended by another business. But, we like the fact that they are Family owned! When we met them - it was just the right feeling you are in good hands! I love their decor - some are super funny. They were communicating with my husband at all times, finished as they said they would, and very honest people. So hard to find these days and very happy we found Petes Transmission. I also enjoyed having a chauffeur everyday..Ha!

Metal shavings

For 1150 they will half ass a trans rebuild th350, still caked it dirt, rtv metal shavings piss poor just like the owner.....just go to a REAL TRANSMISSION SHOP! GARBAGE!

Petes rebuilt the transmission in my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, I had intermittent problems with it which I took to them during the first year under warranty, they said they were unable to replicate the issue. A couple months after the warranty was up the transmission went out. I had to pay to have them rebuild the transmission again and the same exact thing happened just after 12 months. they were always polite but I am now paying for my 3rd transmission rebuild in 3 years. I am using a different shop and would not recommend using Pete's based on my experience.

Called to schedule a next-day oil change. They were able to fit me in for the afternoon. They…read morecalled back to let me know it would take 1.5 hours. I showed up and had to park in the convenience store parking lot next door, because it looked like a pretty tight lot. They said that was no problem. I sat and looked at my phnoe for a little bit until the battery almost died (it was alrfeady low when I got there). They had charging cords on the coffee table with adapters for every phone. I plugged my phone in and sat it on the table and got comfortable for a longer wait, but moments later, true to the 1.5 hour estimate, they said my truck was ready. They advised me of some sort of leak on the front axle, but told me to check with the dealership because it might be under warranty. I appreciate that. I'll definitely be back for future service.

After stellar Yelp reviews (4 plus) guided us to AMC, paid over $3000 (for a broken serpentine…read morebelt, AC belts, new radiator etc., with all parts warranted per AMC). Confident and relieved we'd found a "go to" mechanic in Phoenix, one month later the car began experiencing intermittent power steering outage issues. Our son (in college and alone far from home) immediately brought the car back in, but AMC essentially refused to pop the hood, or otherwise even look at the car "unless the driver could replicate the issue". Two weeks later power steering and AC completely failed on a busy highway (due to a leaking radiator hose that ultimately fried the alternator). Paid an additional $800.00 (plus towing) to a competitor to fix what AMC should've caught. Also, AMC hours are now M-Th and of course this emergency happened on a Friday. First time Yelp has led me astray. 9/9/2026 - Owner Gilberto immediately reached out on Yelp below apologizing and asking for submission of additional repairs documentation to handle the case "fairly". To be fair, I did not go into specifics of prior phone interactions with Gilberto - owner - after the car was first towed to AMC and the had to be retowed to another shop due to AMC's inability to handle after hours emergencies (eg., no closed parking, nor key drop or other available). While all calls with were professional and courteous, Gilberto was ultimately unhelpful and disappointing (leaving us with limited options). The fact that AMC refused to do anything after the car was brought in by our son (for scary warning signs similar to the original problems) just prior to a catastrophic (towable) failure on a busy roadway is what is unacceptable. Not saying AMC is a bad business, they just really blew it. For minor car maintenance (oil changes and tire repairs) AMC is probably great. For major car repairs go elsewhere in the valley, please.

Came back with good and bad news. Good: Don't need transmission work. Bad: Need motor mounts and replacement of air intake hose. I'm convinced if I had taken it to a les experienced shop I would be looking at a new or rebuilt transmission. Offered to pay for the diagnosis but he declined to accept anything. They did a 'diagnostic assessment' on my car and told me I had a transmission issue that couldn't be fixed there since they don't do transmission work but couldn't tell me anything else (not even how they determined this). Couldn't even assist with local recommendations of who could possibly assist. So I paid $123 dollars for them to give me false information about my car. Now, although with 22 reviews (at the time of this review), I went to this shop and Paul told me that MY TRANSMISSION IS FINE and it was a cooler leak and fixed it in no time with the best price (Thank you Jesus!) The receptionist said he's been specializing in transmission work for over 45 years and I believe it.

5-Star Review Deserved. Read On!…read more Let's start with taking my Crosstrek to the Subaru service department. They suggested many repairs totaling $16,000. No! I do realize that the dealership service department charges more. However, the deceitful aspect is that many of those repairs they suggested, I knew, were not needed. Lies! After a quick conversation with the management at this location, we brought the car in to have the transmission looked at. After the initial inspection, the manager told me they would need to do a teardown to determine whether the transmission could be repaired by replacing parts or whether it would need to be replaced with a certified, warranty-backed rebuilt transmission. At that point, I showed the manager my paperwork from Subaru and asked if any of those items needed to be replaced. He immediately said, "No, those do not need to be replaced." That is the entire point of this review. He could have said yes. He could have pointed out things before I even handed him the paperwork from Subaru. He did not. He stuck to the issue that I already knew was the problem. Five-star review! We are now two months into the transmission replacement, and the car runs better than it did before. The price we paid for the replacement was excellent. Because of the honesty, integrity, and quality of the work, I would recommend anyone come to this location and trust this manager and his crew. They have earned my business for the rest of my life for any repairs they can perform on the cars I own. Mike, is knowledgeable, honest and kept his word through the entire process. His crew did an excellent job.

When I brought this up, Nicole was extremely unprofessional and told me I was "lucky" they would even fix it without charging me more for the new parts they had to replace on my transmission--despite the fact that the part had failed and should have been properly repaired in the first place. To make matters worse, when I asked for an invoice showing the corrected repairs, they refused to provide one, leaving me without proper documentation for my records. This is completely unacceptable. I paid for a service that was not done correctly, was overcharged, and was then denied basic proof of what was (or wasn't) fixed. I asked for a refund or even a partial refund on the storage fees considering I was charged more than what I was told and for the car having not been completed correctly in the timeline under which I was informed and billed for. Had to leave work multiple times for their mistake but was told I was lucky to have a fixed car, which I am, but some good customer service would have been nice too. I would strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere. A reputable shop should stand by their work, treat customers with respect, and provide clear and accurate invoices. And customer satisfaction is supposedly their 100% priority but Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
