This is the third time that we've got burgers at Hefner's. A single cheese with everything. A very good burger with very good toppings. The bun is away fresh, but, with a single burger, it's a little too much bun from my perspective. (3 1/2 stars). Next time I'll try one of Hefner's specialty burgers. I especially like Hefner's custard and shakes. (4 1/2 stars) For me, it's always the flavor of the day or vanilla. I love the vibe of this place, and while there, it's fun to drop some quarters in the pinball machines and play a few games. Takes me back to a simpler time, before video games. I also love that Hefner's employs mostly teenagers. It seems like a great place to work and develop teenage friendships. Probably the first job for many of these kids. Hefner's recently installed a Toast Point of Sale system. The teenagers will love this new POS as it will help generate more tips. Hefner's is a great local place to hang out; get some pretty good food that is reasonably priced. It's fun. Let's continue to give them our support as a local landmark.

The "best" local place that was open in January was The Chocolate Chisel. My family and I stopped and each got a cone. I also got three truffles. The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.

My dad loves this place, so I'm sure the staff knows him. The girls working on the Saturday evening we stopped in were super nice! All of us got ice cream and it was great! The place is super cute and aside from the ice cream, they have a bunch of different homemade chocolates. I'm ready to go back to visit my parents so we can stop by for some more ice cream.

It's a mini Airstream parked off the main street, and there strung up lights and picnic tables. We ordered: +a scoop of Butter Pecan on a waffle cone +a scoop of Caramel Collision on a kiddie cone - this was caramel ice cream with caramel swirls and chocolate coated caramel mini cups The ice cream was okay, but not sure if they are keeping the freezer cold enough; it was already melting when the employees were handing the cones to us. The big thing: I just thought it was super gross that the employees who were preparing the ice cream treats/cones were not using gloves; the kiddie cones didn't have a paper slip since it was too small, but the waffle cones did, and the employees were still handling it incorrectly. UGH. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but the sanitary situation was just a bit too much for me. +gloveless handling of ice cream/cones

I was so excited to see they had my fave flavor (Blue Moon) here. I enjoyed my Waffle cone. I was intrigued by the floats and donuts, but just stuck with the cone. WI Campfire S'mores: Cedar Crest Ice Cream is a premium ice cream company that has been located in…read moreCedarburg, WI since 1976. They offer around 80 flavors of their delicious ice cream and their claim to fame is that they invented the now widespread "tracks" in ice cream. WI Campfire S'mores is an ambitious ice cream flavor comprised of graham flavored ice cream with crushed peanut butter cups and a marshmallow swirl. The marshmallow swirl is a little tough to see visually because its white color blends in with the light brown/tan color of the ice cream base. Trust me, it's there though. Separating a spoonful of the swirl out, it does have a texture that differs from the ice cream as it is more aligned to marshmallow fluff. Although the graham and marshmallow flavors tend to get somewhat lost in each other, the peanut butter really comes through when you get a piece of it. The problem is the peanut butter cups are few and far between. Imagine eating an actual s'more that's only graham crackers and a marshmallow. The chocolate (or in this case peanut butter cups) is needed to complete the experience. Cedar Crest is not the only company to do this, but the picture on the package egregiously exaggerates the amount of peanut butter cups. As good as this ice cream is, I think Ben & Jerry's (B&J's) does it better with their PB S'more pint. I'll leave it up to you, but for me this is a Doughboy approved if I have it pre-2024 when B&J's introduced the PB S'more flavor, but after already being exposed, it's just okay *Addendum: The bottom quarter of the container had significantly more peanut butter cups, so more of an equal distribution issue than quantity problem My favorite Cedar Crest Flavors: 1. Pirates Bounty 2. Scotcheroo 3. Birthday Cake Doughboy_Food_Reviews
