How fun!! Scoop Deville is nostalgic of an ice cream shop I used to visit when I was growing up. They have lots of flavor options, and style choices. Pints, malts, shakes, standard dish or cone, you name it! Service was fairly quick, temperature of the ice cream was pleasurable, and the environment was very clean. Great locally owned old-fashioned ice cream shop with 32 flavors, all homemade. They hire local teens and teach them about service and doing a great job. 2 of my kids had their first job at Scoop. It takes a little longer than "fast food" but it is worth the wait every time! We love it! read more

Earlier in the day, my daughter had a traumatic day at a school because of a lock-down and all she wanted that evening was ice cream. We to Hartford--arrived at Scoop Deville; didn't realize it was closed because there were at least 4 families still inside (I counted)-- two tables with people, someone at the counter, another someone standing PLUS at least three other staffers just standing around. It was 8:06. "We're closed," the kid behind the counter tells us. I said, "UGH! We tried DQ and they were closed, too! We just want a quick cone." To which the teenager replied, "Well. Guess this isn't your night." EXCUSE me? I'm telling you right now; I've been a business owner and if had a store with customers, and a small family walked inside and all they wanted was a cone that would take 2 minutes to serve -- I would serve them. It was six minutes past closing. I will NEVER go back to this place, and you can rest assured I'll be spreading the word. read more

If you want the old ice cream shop feel, this is the place! It's so cute and quaint inside. They even have a fun candy case full of the fun candies we adults grew up on. It's a little pricier, but it is home made right there :) Definitely recommend checking out if you're in the area. read more

Amazing ice cream shop in downtown Hartford, you will feel like you've stepped back in time! The owners are great supporters of the community and it is a great place for people of all ages. I've cream is always top notch, and they always have a sorbet or some sort of ice cream for those that cannot have milk products, which is always appreciated. They have a limited food menu, but what they do have is always good. My favorite items to order are the butter pecan in a waffle cone, or any of their sorbets. read more

We've never had a bad experience here. Every time we've come, it's been busy, sometimes more than usual because we stop in during community events. The counter can get a bit confusing when it's so busy, but the staff does a good job of juggling it for their age. The selection is always changing, and they are sure to have a couple that you would never come across at a chain ice cream spot. We noticed the last time we were in that there are dog ice cream treats available. The seemed ab it pricey at first, but they are huge and could easily last 2-4 nights! My pups approved! read more

This is one of the best ice cream places I've been to! They also offer hot dog, mac n cheese etc. You can get soda from a glass bottle or fountain. They have old time candies and bakery items. You can even pints of ice cream and milk! They even offer to make cakes for parties I beleive! read more

I told him this was false and that I hadn't done anything of the kind but he persisted. I turned my cart around and told him he should show me exactly what he's talking about and he should show me how he has me on camera since of course that can't be true since I didn't do what he was loudly and rudely accusing me of doing. I explained to him that I don't live here. He abruptly turned on his heels and murmured "sorry. I made a mistake," and walked away. I'll drive the 5 to 10 miles further to hit another store going forward. I cannot believe a man is allowed to chase an almost 60 year old 120 lb woman and intimidate and accuse her in a parking lot and then barely apologize afterward. I'll never return.

Can't speak to the quality of the food or ice cream because I never made it that far! The staff spent more time goofing off than they did looking after customers so I left before ordering. I'd say luckily the owner was there but unfortunately it appears the high school kids that work there are the ones in charge. To each there own, but I wouldn't let my kids act the way these kids were acting at home, let alone in a place of employment, but the owners either walk around clueless to whats going on, or they are OK with the bullying behavior and language I saw the employees engaging in. I hoped that a business like this, one that caters to kids & families (and employs young kids) would have more integrity. The owners either need to take their blinders off and take control back, or take some pride in their community and foster a positive environment for our youth & their families to spend time together instead of the disrespectful romper room it is now!! The ONLY decent thing about this place (and the reason I didn't leave 1 star) is the decor, which at first glance is neat but after a closer look you'll see the identity crisis this place is going through! I am a believer in doing ONE thing well instead of doing many poorly, maybe Scoop Deville's ownership should get some focus!!! read more

I like this place a lot. Variety of bakery, luncheon/dinner and ice cream, of course. They have items in their refrigerated/frozen case for purchase as well. For fans of dairy products & OJ in a glass bottle, this is your place. Lots of ice cream to choose from and the employees are patient while you make your decision--which I love! I like talking to them and glad they survived the virus stuff ok. There's many places that did not. I hope they get back up and running as normal soon, but yes, they are open. It is clean & safe and you are able to spread out or eat outside (in better weather) if you so choose to do. There is carry out available as well. The owners are very conscientious and look after food safety and sanitation regularly. I take all my out of town guests here and they love it & want to go back. Food & ice cream are all great! Bakery is homemade and there's even "penny candy" from days gone by. I love the music, too. Give them some love and take people here. They'll love you for it! read more

I love this place. I've been going here since I was a kid and it has to be the best place for anyone. Families stop in for ice cream, teens come to hang out, and the environment is really nice. They have a lot of ice cream flavors (pretty much ruined every other ice cream place for me). They also have food, and everyone I know loves the mac n cheese. Me and my friends always get a kick out of playing the jukebox and buying a gum ball in hopes of free ice cream. I also love the name day thing, I even got a free scoop of ice cream once. read more

The icecream and malts are heavenly!! So many cool flavors. I had smores and it had real marshmallow chucks, graham crackers, and chocolate swirls. Also had a chocolate waffle cone! So good! 10/10 will go again and recommend. The staff is very friendly as well! :) read more

All said and done, nothing to get excited about. We'll probably never be back. Overpriced, not great food. Save your money and go someplace else.

Overall, it's definitely a fun spot for a sweet treat with friends but if you're looking for a good bite to eat, I would suggest heading 12 minutes away to Johnson Creek and go to Pinecone or to the Diner downtown if it's open.

My friend ordered the hot chocolate, and I decided to try the special Carrot Cake Chai (with fresh carrots and spices). The hot chocolate was expertly made. It was rich, had excellent foam, and featured special latte art. The Carrot Cake Chai had strong flavor and a wonderful creamy texture. It was a bit sweet for my tastes (and I like sweet), and I didn't finish it. I talked to the barista, and they said they could easily adjust the sweetness level by using one less pump of the syrup. For food, I got the Wisco Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the Devil Egg Salad Sandwich. My toast was good, with a generous amount of fresh avocado. The grape tomatoes were flavorful, but there was a bit too much of the chili crisp seasoning. The side salad was a small mix of lettuce with a few sliced radishes. I got a lot of helpful suggestions from the person taking the order, and the barista did an amazing job with the drinks. They give you a number and deliver your meal to your table.
